I have to agree with other yelpers here. This is by far the worst Verizon store ever. Even though I thought maybe its because I didn't want to buy a phone, that I was having problems with mine and needed to talk with someone was why they were ignoring me. But it seems like even if you are buying a phone the customer service sucks. I can't quite understand why there were 3 customers in the store and about 8 employees and I had to wait. I went in the middle of the afternoon because I thought it would be quicker.....WRONG. So I waited, and waited, and waited, while the employees stood around talking with each other........ They took my name and phone number and then said they had other customers ahead of me..... WHERE WERE THEY????? They must have been invisible. I finally got fed up and left. No one cared......Good business practice. I'll send my husband over, but heads up Verizon....he pays the bill, so ignore him and he will switch all 4 phones in a heart beat....but then again you won't care..... read more

Arrived and was greeted by a manager... Who didn't even look me in the eye and was fiddling with a phone. Customer service was obviously not a strong point. Vaguely told us to stand in line, by slowly walking over to a man standing in the middle of the store. Only to ask us again what we needed help with, because she didn't bother to pay attention the first time. I've currently waited about an hour watching a lady get helped by 2 associates to buy speakers. While the manager is standing around playing with a tablet, with 5 people in line and only more coming. We finally got help from an associate, who was obviously more capable than the so-call manger. To be honest, we only got help because the manager did not want us to see her help a customer who had just walked in to purchase something, while she made us wait over an hour. This was an isolated incident, and I hope it doesn't happen again. I just think a change in management is needed because it was clear she had no idea what 'customer service' is, or how to manage the crowd, or her employees to move efficiently. read more

First impression: walk in and 2 employees are sitting around table just BSing.... never got up. The female even had her legs and feet up on the seats where customers sit. Neither of the ever got up while they talked to me. The female never even took her feet down from the chairs. So unprofessional I was laughing inside. Was going to buy a iPhone XR, but wanted to see if the size fit in my pocket. I was told the only model I could see was attached to 4 clamps and a cable for security. I would have to BUY the iPhone before o could see if it fit in a pocket. Seriously, terrible service... laughable! Do not go to this store.... I felt bad I was interrupting their gossip session. I'm not a wireless customer, but I come pick up phones for work all the time. I've came in on several occasions and each time, the customer service was great. The reason why I'm writing today is because of one representative that helped me today. He understood what I needed and was able to help me quickly. I've always spent more than an hour in the store, but he knew exactly what I needed and I was out of there in under 30 minutes on this particular visit! If you enjoy a place that gives you attitude with arrogance, this is the place to come!! My brother wanted to replace the screen cover on his cell phone. We went to this place to get a new one. The woman (can't remember her name) got the screen cover and tried to replace it. My brother mentioned that there was bubble and the edge had issue. Her response was that she has replaced so many in a day that she knows what to do. She does it all the time!! We spent quite awhile there but she wasn't able to get it right. She then mention that she will give my brother a new one that he can replace at home. And of course she had to emphasize that she does this as a favor to the customers! And other companies like Sprint or AT&T charges $8 just to put it in. (All with attitude!!) Hmmm... Did she think that he can afford a smartphone but not afford $8 to spend to put it on? Or does she mean that if he pays an additional $8 then she can do it right? At last, we shall never know... There was a limit to the amount of attitude with arrogance and I had reached it. Gloria in Kentucky service operation apologized for my frustration, but never apologized for the change they made without my approval. First I arrived with 90 min. before I needed to leave. After an hour of waiting I asked if I could make an appointment, since I didn't think 30 min. was enough time to finish my business with them. I was directed to an in-house computer that wanted to do anything but help me make an appointment. No one was available to help. I came back a few hours later with plenty of time spare. I waited again and finally met with a representative. He did everything he could to get me to spend more than I needed to spend. (Fixed budget here and told him so.) Finally he told me I couldn't stay on my unlimited data plan after I upgraded. With that I walked out the door. I never felt this man really tried to help me - more like he wanted to fleece me. I'll look around and try a different Verizon store. read more

I almost left this store in tears, the customer service was so rude to me when I came to ask them a question about my account. The representative lied to me and added $300 extra charges to my account for things I didn't ask for. The staff is rude, and I waited there for 35 minutes to be helped because everyone took their lunch at once. I have never been so ashamed to be a Verizon customer than I am every time I go into this store. I told my parents how they treated me and one time I went in first and my dad followed to listen in, right in front of his eyes an employee disrespected me and insulted me for no reason. Coming here is a waste of time. I have been here multiple times for various reasons and I always leave here very unsatisfied. All the employees are very stand off-ish and not helpful. They act like they are doing you a favor when assisting you with anything. Or they just punt your problem to someone else, like telling me to call Verizon Tech Support hotline......then what are they being paid to do? You are better off going to the Burlingame Verizon store. They are much more helpful and service with a smile there. Though beware, there is probably a long wait at both stores- just not worth it at this FC one. read more

Great service. I had to return a case that I bought from the Verizon on Market. Ali was great in providing service. One thing that that I found out when talking to him was that I wasn't given the bundle price that I was promised at the other store. He offered to take in the other items that were supposed to be part of the bundle since I was quote the wrong price. Nice service! read more

Been so busy, forgot to write a review. I had a horrid time with San Leandro Verizon (never ever again!!!), and didn't want to travel to Emeryville (love it there), so stopped by San Mateo on the way to work. I went in at 7pm, got in line, and waited since they only had 3 sales reps working. (I wish their concierge or tech support people could sell phones too) Took about 30 minutes before I talked to sales, so that's why 4 stars. From there, it was fast. I told them what I wanted, and the salesperson Kristy was fast and efficient. I said I didn't need accessories, she brought some out in a basket for me to see, but no high pressure sale, and she tried to get me out as soon as possible since I was in a hurry. She was very responsive to my stated needs, which I appreciated. (hear that San Leandro???) I would buy from this store again in the future. People were very courteous, none of this attempt to choke me on accessories I didn't want. Store was clean and waiting wasn't bad since I could play with other phones in the meantime. read more

Probably the best customer service I've ever had in a Verizon store. My fiancée and I went to this store a few days before the iPhone X's/Max came out because we wanted to talk about our plan and see our upgrade options. Andre was extremely helpful. He broke down the details on what our options are. Come Friday the phones come out and I call every Verizon store but no answers. Andre gave me his card so I gave him a text to see if he had iPhones in stock at his location. Luckily he did and he was willing to hold them for me and my fiancée. When we got there he was super helpful as well and so patient with us. I've NEVER gotten this type of customer service before, he definitely went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. read more

My fiancee and I had a fantastic experience today at the Verizon store in San Mateo, thanks to the Sales Rep Andy Lau and the Manager Felipe. Felipe helped us save some $ by sorting out a joint plan that made sense, and then handed us off to Andy who was super patient and helpful as we bought a phone and sorted out the accessories. He even came out to the parking lot to help us sort out our bluetooth connection with the car. I traded in a 6 mo. Old S7 a few months back at the store and was promised a payoff of my phone, their 'trade-in' scam. After a couple of months of waiting, they tell me I would not be getting the money after I paid off the phone out of my own pocket. The said I had not filed for it on time after I called several times about the refund and they never mentioned the process. If you take a chance with Verizon, make sure you are given all the info about rebates before hand. I finally paid another $600 to payoff their phone and get rid of them, as their service is awfull and their signal was never better than 3 bars in my area. My advice, stay away, they are not worth the expensive bill every month, almost any other carrier will be better and cheaper. I was paying $130 a month. read more

Verizon has great cellular coverage, and that's why I continue to be a customer. It's an abusive relationship, though, because virtually every customer service interaction I have with them is terrible. This case was no different. In November, I stopped in to get a SIM card to activate my iPad as a data line. I just wanted the SIM with my intention to use the web site to go through the process of adding a line. The representative (unfortunately I didn't get his name) insisted that he could not provide a SIM card without activating a line of service. The store was quiet and he could help me right there, so I said fine. He went through the process of adding the line using his tablet and eventually we got to the "check out" portion of the transaction. I was surprised to see the price of my estimated bill and questioned the charges. Only then did he disclose a $40 activation charge that he had added. He said that as a long-time customer, he excepted me to know about the charge. In my defense, I have never activated an owned device that I brought to the table, and didn't think the charge would apply in this situation. I said no thanks -- I'm not paying $40 to "activate" my own device and continue to give you $20/mo for service forever. I asked to cancel the transaction, at which point he got the manager, Mr. Combiz Abawi. Mr. Abawi said that he had to charge me the $40, but would see it was credited on my statement. He said it would take a couple weeks and gave me his business card. It's now February. There has been no credit. I've contacted Mr. Abawi twice by email with no response. Do not trust this store. What they did is straight-up fraud, but when it's David vs Goliath, who do you think is going to keep my $40? And of course, it's not about $40, it's about the lack of honesty and integrity of the company and Mr. Abawi in particular. read more

'Wild Goose Chase...' that's what it was for me last Saturday morning. I decided to change over my phone service from Verizon to Consumer Cellular, I'm a senior and was saving a lot $$ on the monthly bill with the change of service. Met with 'Tony' the Mgr. and told him I needed the 'transfer pin' from Verizon to make the over to Consumer Cellular, he said "there's no such pin number " ? Went back to the Target store and told them the info given, "there has to be a pin# to make the change from Verizon to CC". Went back again to the Verizon store, a kid name 'Ad' was able to help me, waited for a few minutes and was given the 'magic pin#'. What? 'Tony' the Mgr. couldn't come up w/ the number but 'Ad' did? I think there should be a change in Management in the store, at least someone who knows what they are doing. bye bye Verizon! read more

I had a smooth experience picking up my new phone I ordered online. They were busy but able to get me my phone right away but not want me to help set it up. However its so easy to do now on your own at home transferring data from phones that was fine. It was brief but easy ! Better experience by far for me than Victra in RWC. read more

I was in the Bridgepointe Parkway store today to resolve an issue with Tele-sales ordering. Tony takes the time to listen to the issues I encountered with previous order, and was able to offer a couple of ideas on how best to proceed. I like my phone but Verizon Wireless the company that you deal with that does the billing, are not Straight Shooters. They made a deal with me that my bill would be certain amount of month. Now it's a hundred and fifty more months and they promised. Now they can't find any record of the agreement I have. It makes no difference to them that I have been a customer for 20 years. They talk a good game but they really don't deliver. The Delphi tracking service was working and then it wasn't so they talked me into buying hum devices for my taxi business and they aren't as good as the delphi's were when they were working. If you go to this store, ask for David! I went in to upgrade my phone, and they didn't have the particular phone I wanted, so David walked me through my options for the particulars I wanted. He was upfront about the fees and add on costs, instead of surprising me with a big bill at the end (like what happened 2 years ago when I bought my Pre). He also helped me with some questions I had about billing and explained them in a way that made sense to me, something no other associate has been willing or able to do at other stores it seems. He was very helpful, and even suggested my friend and I go wait at the Starbucks next door while my contacts transferred to my new phone, and while we were there he hand delivered my new phone and all the accoutrements! Talk about service! This is the FIRST TIME I've ever got such good service at a Verizon store, this guy made all the previous trouble worth it! read more

This store would not accept my government share plan account ($135/month with 4 data lines, and 10 GB share plan). The agent told me if I paid $300 for Iphone 6 with , 16gb including tax and Activate the data line then he would honor the government account. This may be the best deal I was offered, but I was not sure that he would jack up the price from $135/month to $203/month as Verizon at Costco in Palo Alto would charge me. I cancelled the deal at Costco and plan to switch to AT& T as my friend told me that AT&T would honor this government share plan for $135/month for 4 data lines, 10GB of data. . read more

Hi folks... I was actually on a chat and got my application completed and all was going great. Then the rep asked me to call the credit line and I lost my chat .. I called the credit department and was connected to Tele-services and this too went smoothly. Then they transfered me to Tele-services in order to get prices and a set up a plan. I ended up being on hold for 40 minutes, 20 minutes 10 minutes etc. Plus I couldn't get access to the chat without logging in.. so I tried to register online , but unable to register because I didn't have an account.. well I knew that already. I mistakenly notified the business department and someone answered right away, but they could help me because this is a personal account.. he transferred me to the tele-services... holding again. I guess joining Verizon is not in the cards for me.. I hope you have better luck. read more

Besides knowing next to nothing about the products, staff is rude and dismissive when being asked about basic product capabilities. Since I spend over $2,500 a year with them, my expectations are that I would at least be treated well. Lack of product knowledge i can overlook but being rude and disrespectful is unacceptable. Too bad other carriers are just as bad. A race to the bottom that I hope some company will realize is a huge market opportunity. The experience I have at Verizon is usually not good. One time, there was this cold, superior looking guy, talking in some cold tone. The other times, it was cold-blooded corporate dealing with you kind of attitude. I really wonder why this is. It is some kind of snobbish attitude. Could it be that they spend all those advertising money to tell you they have the best network, and think people need them, not the other way around? I can think of some companies do that to their customers -- it is when they think they have you locked in, that they will for sure be able to eat you, that they don't really care about you. I don't know what the true reason is... but my phone reception is good, not great. And living in metropolitan area, I really don't care that much about the coverage area because all wireless companies are about the same, and not care if it is some forest in a state I never visit anyway. If it is a forest or place people go to, other companies sooner or later should have coverage too, if not now, and I can always use the Internet at the hotel anyway. Also, it wasn't the first time they try to suck in money by preying on me. It is like: if you buy some clothes, the company help you look good. Companies usually help the customers and make them well. It should not be that they eat up their own customers. They are like a predator that preys on its own customer. The situation was: Verizon sent me text messages stating I am near my usage limit. So I thought, ok, I will use data carefully. And the next day or a couple days later, I get the message again, stating I am near my usage limit. So I thought, oh well, if it goes over, that's fine, I will pay for that 1GB, which is $10 or in fact for Verizon, it is $15. The message never said I was over the data usage. It kept on saying I am getting near the limit. So later on, they told me the bill has overage charge of about $350. I told them the messages never said I was over -- it merely said I was near my limit and so I thought if I happen to be over, then I will pay the $10 or $15. It turned out the message meant, "we added 1GB to you and is charging you $15, and for that 1GB, you are near the limit." So that means, "near the limit" does not refer to my 8GB or 12GB plan. It referred to the 1GB that they added. I told them the messages could have been more clear, and the fact was that if I called to bump up my plan, the overage would be $40 only, but the fact I didn't call, they insisted on taking in $350. I kept on saying, you sent me messages, but the messages kept on saying I am near the limit, not over. And the representation kept on saying, "well, we sent you multiple messages" as if she didn't hear me or just following some formula script on the phone. And so, it looks like instead of having me as a customer for the next 20, 30 years, which means 240 or 360 more billing for them, at around $100 each month, which means $24,000 or $36,000 of revenue for them, they chose to milk me for $350, with the possibility that I will never be a customer with them ever again. Somehow I get it. When it is 3 or 5 years later, when people leave and leave, they might just do more advertising, promotion, or, the original VP will have left the company at that time. So, as a VP right now, it is best to milk in that $350 to bump up the revenue number and net profit number, have a good bonus at work, and good stock options profit for him or her if the stock price moves up according to the bigger net profit number, and he or she will not care for what happens 3 or 5 year down the road. So I am switching to AT&T, or Cricket, which belongs to AT&T, and their default plan is they don't milk and milk money from you -- they lower your speed once you reach your data limit, so that you can do reasonable communication, but just a little bit slow. When you can't stand the slow speed, you can call them to upgrade it for that month, and it will be no surprise for you, in a way which is like "oh we milked you for $300 and we intentionally make our messages not very clear, so what, what can you do?" (by the way, I checked. Cricket has 8GB (a promotion up from 5GB) plan for $45 per month right now, with unlimited talk and text. If it is 10GB, it is $55. If it is unlimited data, then it is $65 per month. With Sprint, it is $60 unlimited data, voice and text. I think some company may have some maximum of 25 or 27GB limit and they will make your data become slow speed, but 25GB or 27GB? at least to me it is good enough. If I exceed it, then the slow speed will just tell me not to surf too much.) So I am switching. Bye bye blood sucking vampires. Hm... maybe that's why they are cold blooded. I would give negative stars if possible. I have been sitting in the store for about an hour on hold with Verizon to shut off a telephone line. I was told by the rep that "they need voice authorization" to disconnect a line. Can't an in store rep get authorization in person??? I rate this Verizon Wireless store 1/2 star if that. I've been here several times before and the service has always been subpar. Today was the worst. A young girl by the name of Michelle "attempted" to help me with resolving the issue of providing me with a battery for my LG phone which is still under warranty. She tried to sell me a new battery for the full price when I was entitled to a 25% discount since I've had my phone for a year. For the first 3 months if there is a defect with the battery, then the customer is entitled to a new battery and not have to pay for any of it. For 7-12 months it's 25% off. Anyway, Michelle was extremely rude about it, saying that there were no notes on my account that I had called the 800 number and without notes there isn't anything she could do for me. She also laughed inappropriately in the middle of looking up my account. Later I called the 800 number again and they said that all verizon wireless stores should know this policy. It was obvious from the getgo that she did not want to help me. Talk about poor customer service. They really need to have their employees go through a customer service training. I will never go back into this store again. ********12/24/07 - I wish there was such a thing as a negative star. I got desperate and came back here because I was in a time crunch. I just got back and they are so unprofessional!!!!! So I got there at 5 pm and the door was locked. The sales rep let a customer out and he proceeded to tell me that the store was closed. I asked him what time the store was closed and he replied, "At 6". Then I asked, "What time is it now?" He replied, "5". I proceeded to tell him that I just needed to return one item so he let me in. He was then reprimanded by the manager (???) for letting me in. This guy walks over to me and tells me that the store is closed and that ALL the registers are closed. I told him that I just needed to return one item and he proceeded to tell me that it was Christmas eve and that they all have family dinners to attend and whatnot. So in an effort to appease me, he offered to sign my receipt and extend the date of when I can return the item. So seeing that it is Christmas eve, I didn't want to dispel negative energy so I left. But I have not let it go obviously. What kind of business says that they are closed at 6 pm and then decides to lock the doors at 5 pm???? I have never heard of such a thing. Yes, I understand that it is Christmas eve afterall. But is that really my problem? If the employees wanted to leave by 5 pm then they should take that up with the store owner and have the store owner close at 5 pm. But if s/he decides that they are to close at 6 pm, then that's when they should close. Maybe if this was one isolated incident, I could let it go considering it's Xmas eve. But after the rudeness and unprofessionalism I've experienced in the past, this simply is NOT OKAY!!! read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Would give zero stars, if I could. I was attempting to exchange a malfunctioning Belkin wireless charging pad. I walk in, Manager asks if I need help, I say so have an exchange, so he walks away to have somebody else assist me, when nobody else is available he comes back and says, "Okay, nobody's available, I guess I'll knock this out real quick." Mind you I have no idea what type of wireless charging pad I need to exchange for. So I say, "I don't know what type to get, can you help?" He replies, "I mean they're all the same, a wireless charging pad is a wireless charging pad. You pick the brand you like." Manager then proceeds to hand me off to a different associate, and says, "Can you help him exchange this? He wants the Mophie". Again, never did I say that's what I wanted, I simply had the Mophie in my hand because it was the only one I saw. Associate takes over, I ask if he could show me the other versions. I find one I like and I attempt to make the exchange, they say because it's damaged they can't accept it because it was bought over 14 days ago. A straight exchange, no price difference, for a malfunctioning item they sold. They say I need to go through Belkin to get a new Belkin item, but I don't want a Belkin item. Policy in place to so Verizon keeps their $70, don't need to worry about any revenue lost, and put all the customer service administration back on the customer!? INSANE. With that being said, it was the service from beginning to end that this review is about. Policies are policies but acting like an exchange is not a reasonable opportunity to provide top notch customer service is why this place was horrible. read more

So...it was beyond time to replace my phone and son and husband did a little "advance" work before bringing me here to get the phone replaced by setting up an appointment with a rep, etc. We showed up around 1:30 or so and surprisingly the place was not mobbed as has been my experience with them in the past. Our sales rep was Spence, who was AWESOME. He is very low key, doesn't try to sell you the store along with a phone, and was very knowledgeable about any question asked. Spence made the whole experience much quicker and less pressured than my last time here and I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this location as a result of our experience with him. Thank you Spence- we appreciated your style and will request you when it's time to replace the next phone in the household! read more

Verizon is the absolute worst in customer service and the worst as a service provider. I have been trying for 2 years to get this phone to work correctly and Verizon blames Samsung, while Samsung blames Verizon. 3 times in the last 2 weeks I have spent a minimum of 3 hours straight with a Verizon rep. and they have improved nothing!!!!! Check the statistics the other guys are all within 1% of what Verizon says they give us and the cost is WAY LESS. If you read any negative reviews...and there are plenty, and you sign on with Verizon then there is no one to blame but yourself for the crap service you get.
