Solid service and friendly staff. I recently received a new phone and was able to transfer everything over except my phone number which was the biggest part of my phone. Despite checking the wifi connection and trying repeatedly it still wouldn't transfer over so it called for a visit to the AT&T Store. Luckily, there was one in the neighborhood so I took a trip after work on a weekday. It wasn't busy. I was able to get service right away and I wasn't able to get the worker's name, but he was very helpful and patient with me while I figure out who is the primary user of the account. I went in today for some help getting my Samsung watch to connect with my Samsung phone. I already had a data plan set up just needed them to help connect them after a reset. First of all he said, I need a new phone number and account which is a lie and then he said he couldn't do it. I went over to the San Bruno AT&T and they helped me right away. My husband lost his iPhone. We dug out his old iPhone 8 & went to the Belmont AT&T to get a SIM card for it. Joel was very helpful. He installed sim Said there was service, but phone wouldn't make or receive calls. Joel suggested downloading the most recent IOS update at home which should correct the issue. I cannot tell you how much I dreaded coming in today. I haven't been phone shopping in 5 years and my last experience was a long, tedious encounter. Not today!! Joel greeted me warmly and was fantastic. He listened to my issue, gave me options on a replacement phone that suited my needs and was super fast. In and out with a new phone in under 30 minutes with appropriate accessories and the best part? Asked me if I had any sort of employer discount. Their employee was very pleasant and seemed professional, but after almost 4 hours our phone did not get ported and we ended up canceling the account (that is what he told us) , in real life he did not , and we kept getting bills from ATT . We went about 10 times to same store and so far we have met so many employees and managers that it is crazy. I have spent many hours in the AR&T store at Sequoia Station in RWC. The manager there, Thomas, is very helpful BUT today, I encountered the worse customer service EVER. I would like to see their employee Paul fired! Rude, unhelpful and absolutely no customer service skills. After 2 house in the store with the useless Paul ( his colleague Dumb is no better than Paul, dumber). I left and went to the ATT store in Belmont. I waited outside as there were customers in the store. Matt, the rep in the store came out to help me. The issue was rectified within 5 minutes. He was on top of the issue, a fairly easy one it seems if you have a brain. Marc was helping me and said he would need a driver's license so I went home and came a few hours later. He was busy so had his coworker "help us". I told him what phone I was looking for and he said he couldn't sell it to me unless I already had a phone number with some type of service. I told him I didn't I was looking for new service and he told me they don't sell phones to people without a phone number as they are expensive phones and it could be fraud. I'd been needing to stop by an AT&T Wireless store for a while before my warranty on defective equipment expired. I am reluctant to go to any AT&T Wireless store because it usually such an exasperating experience, it's the last place I want to be. As the mom of a 3-year-old, my patience is already thin. I showed up with my receipt, well within the one year warranty coverage and the AT&T employee couldn't find my receipt in his system. I felt really frustrated that I was going to have to pay for faulty equipment because of their problems with record keeping, even though I had my receipt with me. I started to get a little teary, just so sick and tired of the awful service I've gotten since I switched to AT&T. I waited as he searched and searched, and eventually the clerk found my receipt in his system. I'm glad the clerk found my receipt, but I'm so done with AT&T, the dropped calls, and the antagonistic relationship I've had with all the equipment I've had since I joined this time around. read more

I've made the switch. I am now officially an Android user. I'm old and I need a bigger ASS screen. Do not get me wrong, I love Apple but once you hit a certain "age" ahem it's time to admit that you might be needing some help. The Samsung S 4 recently released boasted a 5 inch screen. I knew that this phone was made for me and my aging eye sight. After 3 weeks of using my new phone I must admit, there is plenty that I miss from my iPhone. But this comes to no surprise as the AT and T customer service dude told me straight up that he preferred the iPhone to any Android device. But I can't see! This store has always done right by me and never was there a time where I felt pressured to purchase a particular device over another. The sales staff just lets you come to your own conclusions while pointing out the benefits of each. I'm stuck in Android Hell for the next two years until the ghost of Steve Jobs can convince the nice fold at Apple to make a bigger screen for us old folk. read more

All I can say is that I'm glad I'm not an AT&T customer. Here's the scene: Walk into the store looking to return two items purchased from ATT online. The manager holding the iPad takes my name down and tells me I need to wait in the queue of people to return my items. Fair, all cell phone companies do this. I then proceed to tell him I will be taking a call outside since it's too loud inside. I stand outside of the glass doors, in plain view of everyone, on the phone. 20 minutes pass by, the same guy that takes down my name continues to look at me but says nothing or signals nothing, just glances. I walk inside to look at the queue and my name is no longer there. I ask, where did my name go on the queue? He responds...oh, we were calling your name but no one showed up. Sorry. Umm. Really? You see me the ENTIRE time standing outside of your doors? And you don't bother to ask why I'm there? I guess there are plenty of people that loiter right outside of AT&T on a daily basis. Long story short, I drove off to the other AT&T on El Camino, close to Hillsdale Mall. They were much more helpful and willing to help. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION. read more

PRO TIP: Make an appointment online. Like the DMV, if you show up without an appointment you will be put in a queue. You will have to wait. Even if you have an appointment, you may have to wait a short amount of time for your scheduled person to be free to assist you. I have had nothing but positive experiences at this AT&T store. Unlike other stores, I have always been greeted upon entering. I especially recommend Annas, who is a great representative of the company and is always pleasant and helpful! This BELMONT store is THE BEST‼ I went to the one on Page mill in Palo Alto and the one on el Camino in Santa Clara, both store couldn't help me with a SIM card. They said I needed to buy a new phone. $89-$500+ all and expensive phones are sold out. I went to BEST BUY I bought $145 phone.Went to Belmont AT&T to Get a Sim card for my new phone. GHEWA (mgr) said what's the problem? I said nobody can seem to get a Sim card for my iPhone 4 and I need to connect this phone I bought at Best Buy. She picked up the iPhone and said this is an iPhone 6 ‼ I had totally forgotten that I lost my iPhone 4 and it was indeed an iPhone 6. She said I can feel by its size in her hand. Within 15 minutes she had my old phone up and running. This girl knows her shxt. It was worth Every minute of the 45 minute wait. Luis, whom I believe is the manager, was extremely discourteous and unprofessional. In trying to buy a phone and open an account, he kept getting up, going to the back room for 10 minutes at a time, only to come out and ask that I input the same information over and over. When I asked him why this was necessary, he said his "system" kept "crashing" on his iPad. An hour in, rather than acknowledge the inconvenience, he acted defensive, ripped the phone off the table, and said that if I didn't have the patience to wait I should leave. Okay. This was after he wiped my phone, had me sign a bunch of e-paperwork, and performed a credit check that will likely hurt my score. What a miserable waste of time with Belmont's most unpleasant service. Every other employee seemed at least polite. If you must come here, try to get serviced by anyone else. read more

I recently lost my Iphone and had to go through the sad experience of buying a replacement at full price. After many considerations, I chose the Belmont AT&T store to do this. For one, San Mateo county has a slightly lower sales tax than adjacent counties. But as important, the staff was pretty well-reviewed. When I was at the store, you could tell the sales associate who was helping me was trying to break the news as gently as he could. He even recommended I buy my replacement at apple, as opposed to at&t, just because then I'd at least have an unlocked phone. I really appreciated the honest feedback, but since having unlocked phone wasn't that important to me, I bit the bullet at the Belmont store. $700 down the drain, but at least they made it as painless as it could be. read more

They clearly explained our options and they did not pressure us into buying anything we did not want. I've never had a problem with this retailer and for years have always gone here for help setting my iphones and ipads up. When I did, it always got it remedied and completed. Cecilia was a star when she helped me set up my new iphone. Sweet, knowledgable and soft spoken, she guided me through the setup and we completed it all quickly and thoroughly. When we went in to set up my husband's new ipad, Charles was very accommodating. My husband is...er...technically challenged. Charles was very patient with him and got him started. Great attitude and a very nice guy. The only glitch was that we ordered the new ipad online and it already had a number attached. After a call to AT&T, we got it fixed right. He stated he noticed the $54 difference from other months but was not able to open the billing statement with the issue. DISAPPOINTED AND DISSATISFIED WITH ATT. T-MOBILE HAS CHEAPER RATES. ATT CUSTOMERS- DID YOU KNOW TMOBILE OFFERS UNLIMITED CALLS, TEXT, DATA AND EVEN INTERNATIONAL CALLING FOR $70 P/ MONTH? I have been a long-term customer of ATT for at least 6-years. I personally have two ATT phones, one hot spot, not to mention my son and husband also have ATT plans. One of my phone bills costs me approximately $160 p/month. Several months ago, I called ATT to disconnect my son's hotspot which they neglected to do. Since I travel a great deal for work, and am a busy professional, I have my bills put on auto pay. This month I noticed an $900+ charge from ATT for the phone and the hotspot, which as I just mentioned I discontinued to several months ago. I'm upset because I don't feel I was given a reasonable level of customer service given my usage of ATT services. I was also denied the name of a person where I could escalate the issue and receive insurances of an investigation. I assured Evan Howard, the ATT representative that if I could NOT be given the name of a person where I could directly follow up with this matter I would switch carriers, yelp, write a formal complaint etc. And so I am following through. NOT ONLY AM I SWITCHING TO TMOBILE AS SOON AS MY PHONE IS UNLOCKED BUT IM GOING TO HAVE MY HUSBAND AND SON SWITCH FROM ATT TO TMOBILE TOO!! And you can just bet I will advertise the advantageous TMOBILE rates along with my ATT dissatisfaction on my FB page.
