I visited the store to upgrade my phone and I was a loyal Verizon customer of 25 years. Brief interaction ended with the trainee telling me that Verizon is a "multibillion dollar company and so you being a customer doesn't matter." His boss came and said she agreed with him. I write this from my new T-Mobile phone. I called Verizon customer service right away and recounted the story for the record. Dear Verizon friends, you don't want my business, I am happy to leave you like the other 300,000 Verizon customers that just jumped ship. Don't care if I am a loyal customer? My experience at the Verizon Short Hills Mall NJ was excellent!!!!!!!. I must confess I came into the store frustrated from another service provider but was met with a welcoming smile by Mr. Taylor who I didn't know was the store manager.I had many questions concerning my estimated bill since I was transfering from another service provider. Mr. Taylor took his time to advise and explain the estimated bill. When I noticed some charges I was unsure of, he explained them to me and resolved them. His team members were so great too. I went to the Verizon store to change my cell phone number. The young man who helped me was more interested in WHY I wanted to change my number then making sure that everything was working correctly and followed through the transaction carefully. As I stated above the technician wanted details of the reason why I wanted a new number. I told him that I had a stalker following me for some time and that he was becoming more graphic with his obscene pornographic messages. I took the technician to the website of the stalker and the technician said that the stalker was a catch, that I should be interested in him because he is wealthy. The technician over charged me for services that were not needed. He failed to complete his service and did not check if my cell phone was operating properly. I had to call Verizon when I arrived home to address MANY of the charges that was listed on the service statement. I had to call Verizon the next day to clean-up everything that the technician at the store started and the work that the online tech support could not to complete because of a 24 time-out on a procedure that troubled us. DO NOT GO HERE. I wish I could leave no stars. To say our experience at this specific location has been dreadful is an understatement. Let me start off by saying my parents have been customers for 20+ years. I switched to AT&T to my husbands plan because I just could not take dealing with Verizon anymore. My parents went in last week and they were helped by an agent. He approached them and talked to them in Spanish, which is fine, because my parents prefer Spanish anyways. He went off about a promotion they have. He was very nice but something about the whole thing didn't seem right. My parents unfortunately fell for it. Next thing you know, they walk out with two new phones and an iwatch (which is what they wanted) but in their accounts accounts it showed they had 3 new phones. I should also mention this agent made a house call with my parents via WhatsApp to walk them through their new phones and to help disconnect my moms old phone. Very weird that he did this... Long story short, they told my Mom she needed to trade in her old phone for her new one (which didn't make sense because my mom finished paying off the old phone). I don't know what they said to my parents to manipulate them to agree to this but I knew they were taken advantage of. I went into the store the next day and the agent AND the manager PAULA ran in the back offices when they saw us walk in. I demanded to speak to the manager and she finally came out. I have NEVER had an encounter with any customer service individual who acted the way she did. SHE was annoyed before I could even say a word to her. She was uninterested in what I had to say. Her and the agent were acting extremely sketchy. Any moment they got they would run to the back. I was this close to calling the cops. After an hour of back and forth with them and Verizon customer service on the phone, the agent came back with my Mom's old phone... WITH A BRAND NEW SCREEN AND BODY ON IT!!! IT LOOKED BRAND NEW. So, basically, what they did was convince my parents they needed to "trade" in my Mom's phone, they kept the phone for themselves, fixed it so it looked brand new, and were going to sell it and make money off of it. The agent even apologized for what they had done. THE MANAGER WAS IN ON IT. read more

I have a love/hate with Verizon Wireless. I love their coverage area but I dislike their customer service. We did score an educated individual when we needed to purchase a new phone. This location is always busy! A lot of times the reps are disinterested. Again our last visit we did well. Smart phones are expensive. They did away with discounts (yeah their discount is getting a phone for 3 bills...ugh). Anyway, be prepared to wait and play roulette on who you will get to help you. Good luck! read more

Customer service was great! Was meeting my family at the Short Hills Mall for shopping and lunch. I had just ordered a Mophie battery pack for my mom which was delivered to my parent's house earlier in the week. When I saw her in person, I noticed that the Mophie was not the one I had wanted to order. Store manager and salesperson were extremely nice and let her exchange in store, even though she didn't have original packaging with her. It was also great because this store had several Mophie battery packs in store so one can look and touch the product prior to purchase. Both the manager and Thierry, the sales rep, were very nice and patiently reviewed the different upgrade plans for my mom, who is new to the data plan world. It's refreshing to get such nice and kind service to a smartphone neophyte. read more

Buyer Beware! The sales associate was helpful with selecting the phone and plan. But when I brought the new phone home, the line wasn't activated. He also signed me up for the more expensive phone plan and for the Verizon mobile protect plan (phone insurance) without telling me! It would have added an additional $54 per month to my bill as I added 1 new line and upgraded another. I had to do an online chat with verizon when I got home from the store. He was able to fix everything - he activated the new phone and removed the higher plan and insurance. But it took me an hour on the chat, which I was hoping to avoid by going to the store. read more

I spent hours on the phone with Apple support and in the Apple store and every "genius" was stumped by a glitch on my new iPhone. After walking out of Apple feeling defeated I saw Mat was available to help me in the Verizon store. He was so sweet and attentive and fixed my problem in five minutes! The staff is on point and I was helped almost instantly when I walked in. Getting anyone to answer the phone at this location was impossible. I called with a simple product question about what they might have in stock. I was deeply disappointed not to have been able to reach a live human being. I've visited the store in person during the week (mid-day on a Wednesday) and at the time I called Its unlikely they were so swamped as to not pick up the phone. In fairness, I don't know what might have been happening at that particular moment - but I do know that a one minute call to me would have saved me lots of time but they were unavailable. Let me begin by saying that one star is being far too kind... The managers at this store should really get ZERO stars for their incompetence and their inability to address or resolve issues. I spoke to one manager and explained my situation of how I've been receiving 3-4 defective iPhones through their extended warranty in a span of two weeks. I told him that Apple next door issued me a proper iPhone at no cost because it was the "right thing to do" after they heard about my experience. The manager claimed he would go back and review my account to see what he can do. He came back with another manager who supposedly had higher authority than him & they both said they couldn't do anything about my issues or provide any credit to my account since I've been utilizing their crap extended warranty program. Oh really? Funny because when I called in to Verizon, they went above and beyond to issue me credit and reviewed my account to make sure the extended warranty was taken off completely. They also APOLOGIZED for my experience and explained what they were doing and why. If you want managers/supervisors that really skim your account history, don't take the time to really understand what your situation is clearly, don't explore all options, and don't know how to do their jobs, then this is your store. read more

I will start with this-- I have been with Verizon for about 10 years. Though they're expensive, I've had no problems with them, and I really like that I usually have very good coverage when traveling. With that said, I'm switching. Last Halloween, I dropped my phone in the toilet. My brother-in-law gave me an iPhone he wasn't using. I went to this location to get my new phone up and running. This part was relatively easy. While we were waiting the person helping us asked if I wanted a free hotspot. I said no. I no longer commute into the city and rarely find myself w/o wifi and wishing I had it. He pushed. Said it was free. No charge to me and is something I can use on trips, etc. I was skeptical, but he said it was free, and I agreed. He showed me the receipt after everything went through and said, "see it's free. No charge to you." The device that I was given never worked, and I eventually threw it away. Fast forward to earlier this week. I was on verizon.com looking at my account information and was really surprised to see that I had 2 phone numbers and that the second line was an extra 10 dollars a month. I called Verizon to see if my account had been hacked. They explained to me that this is my hotspot. I explained to them that I never signed up for a hotspot. I was given a device that never worked and threw it away. I would never add an extra 10 dollars a month to my bill for something I never use. I wish I had looked noticed this earlier. Verizon can't do anything for me over the phone, but tell me to go to back to the store to sort this out. Today I went back to Verizon. The manager said there was nothing he could do for me. I would have to pay the additional 10.00 a month until November 2017 ($120.00) or I could pay 140.00 to cancel this. I am so disgusted by Verizon's shady and predatory sales techniques. I will never use them again. I feel incredibly taken advantage of and will be switching to T-Mobile tomorrow. read more

Useless. I mean, all Verizon stores are kind of useless unless you want to upgrade your phone. But seriously, the employees here know nothing. I went in about a month ago because my Droid started acting up. When I tried to explain my problem, the guy didn't listen to a word I said - BUT he offered to replace my phone for free because it was under warranty, so I didn't really care that he didn't listen to me. Three weeks later, when the NEW ( well, refurbished) phone started acting up, I went in and told the girl at the desk that the same thing was happening again. She then told me that they can't replace my phone unless I can demonstrate the problem I'm having in front of them. Everyone knows that cell phones are psychic and they KNOW when you need them to NOT work, and then they work - and vice versa. So since my phone worked at that second, she said there was nothing she could do. Meanwhile, I went home and Googled the problem and realized I could easily fix the issue with resetting a certain app. I reset the app, problem solved. Five minutes at home versus a half-hour of talking to clueless people in-store? The choice is clear. Just stay home and figure it out yourself, save a headache. read more

I went to the Verizon Wireless at the Short Hills location on Saturday Nov 12th 2022 to upgrade me and my daughter's phones since we haven't upgraded in years. When we arrived we were kindly greeted by young man who was going to help us. The representative explained to us how we can get a promotional trading value for our phones along with other devices that when purchased together with a phone would be discounted. Since we did not need any other devices we kindly declined the offer. Everything was going smooth the representative did not pressure us into buying and then he proceeded to go and get our phones everything seemed to normal. I noticed that the representative was taking almost 20 minutes just to get 2 phones in the back so I figured something was wrong. Indeed the representative came out 5 minutes later with a piece of paper in his hands followed by a young lady that turned out to be his manager. The representative then proceeded to present me with a new quote with all types of services that I was not interested in, including the 2 devices that I had already declined. It was clear to me that his manager intercepted him in the back and pressured him into selling more things. I felt so bad for the representative because I knew I was not going to take any additional services. I felt so horrible because it seemed as if his job depended on him making additional sales but I did not want to feel pressured into buying anything that I do not need. I took the piece of paper and told the manager that I was going to speak it over with my husband and decided to do it online because I do not want to be the cause of a person losing his job. This was one of the most horrible feelings I ever felt. I then noticed that every representative working with a customer also had a quote for their customers so it seems as if my experience is not an isolated incident it seems that this is this store's culture. It is a shame that managers will see their customers not as an individual person but as a dumping ground for all their services. read more

Giving this store one star is far too kind. This store deserves NO STARS. I went in to upgrade my phone and began asking questions about the different models available. The customer service rep I spoke to told me to "Google reviews" of the phones if I wanted to know how they work. When the rep tried to access my Verizon account (AFTER shopping for 30 minutes) he told me my account did not exist (which it does) and when I told him that's incorrect he walked away and began helping another customer. I asked to speak to a manager and was ignored by 2 reps before finally leaving the store. I ended up purchasing my phone through Verizon customer service. Most Verizon stores are useless but this store is absolutely APPALLING with their customer service attitude. I will gladly travel farther from my home to avoid this store in the future. read more

The Manager had a terrible attitude, and when an associate from Apple came to try to assist me in the process he shut her down immediately. Using Verizon as a provider since 1998, I have been pretty satisfied, but the attitude is a terrible detriment to their customer service. No help. Recently signed up for a new plan through Verizon through this store. Big mistake. When I was told that my monthly bill would be $110, I was so surprised, I asked several times if that was accurate and if it included all charges. I was assured that it did so, naturally, I signed up. Fast forward a few weeks, I receive my first bill and learn that actual monthly charges will be $230/month - the $110/month is simply the charge for the plan and does not include device fees, line fees, etc. Now, again, the key to this story is that I was legitimately so surprised that it would cost $110/month for EVERYTHING, I specifically made a point of asking, "This includes the devices? The line charges...everything?" and they insisted it did. In fact, I was told, 'It's surprising, right? That's why we're better than ATT". Well, they're not. They're simply good liars. Recently bought an unlocked iphone 6 from Apple ($650). Apple reps stated that the phone was compatible with Verizon, and there wouldn't be any issues. When I went to the Verizon store, (within the same mall complex) the sales rep insisted that Verizon does not activate Sim Cards on non-verizon branded iphones. So basically, I just spent $650 on a brand new iphone, and would not be able to use it with my network. The sales rep was apologetic, and stated I needed to buy a Verizon branded, unlocked iphone if I wanted to use it on the Verizon network. I later called Verizon directly, and they said this is COMPLETELY INCORRECT. They have "no idea" why a sales rep would refuse me service over this issue. My guess: Verizon is like an HMO--they want you to stay in network, make purchases in network, buy VERIZON-branded phones. This practice is illegal as of February 2015. In terms of customer services, I have no complaints. Staff is attentive, friendly etc. I also do not blame the sales rep. This is a problem with upper management and the policies that the sales rep were trained to enforce. read more

Shame on you Verizon. Suspending my phone service for different reasons every time I speak to an employee at the store or someone on the phone. The staff at the store tells me one story; I move forward with what I'm told, and I get a different story the next day. No phone service coming on 27 hours with no end in site. As a contractor, I cannot go without my phone for even 10 minutes. At least the GM Matthew seems to care. Now they just need to stop telling me that there is "nothing they can do", "don't know why this is happening" "just wait" (for the newly determined deadline)and TURN THE PHONE SERVICE BACK ON for this customer who is on autopay. Oh yeah, Murad told me that he put in a note online to get me a month of free service and I asked to see his message or get a copy. He refused, and today no one knows what I'm talking about when I follow up about it. Verizon, shame on you!! I went to this location over the weekend and the beginning of my experience was OK and once I paid all the customer service went out the window. I came in for a charger and we ended up getting me a brand new phone. Once I got the charger I wanted to return because I don't need it anymore. They guy waited til after he activated the new line know that he wouldn't be able to return the merch except to give me a hill credit. Then they added extra things to my bill without even clearing it by me. We talked about a warranty through apple and that so was all...so why did I get an email saying that I signed up for insurance through Verizon ??? Lies and not cool. Then I didn't see he guy open the plastic and when it was being set up a million apple ids came up (thanks for giving me a used phone ) the guy assured me that something was just wrong and reset the phone. He got the phone working and I left. NOT EVEN 5 MINUTES LATER I WEBT BACK because in that time 6 different apple ids asked me to sign in ( I took screenshots). So I went right back and they guy that was helping me was gone and I spoke with one of the managers who was COMPLETELY RUDE. Saying that there was nothing she could do and telling me to go to apple... mind you she saw me in there 5 minutes ago and I just spend over $190 and gave you guys a brand new line and you won't even try to help me? NOT COOL AT ALL. The lies and the AWFUL customer service make me want to leave the company which I will be doing as soon as I can.
