Which, looking at her wedding photo on the wall leads me to believe she is one of the owners. The woman behind the counter seriously deserves an Olympic medal for somehow making a bakery feel hostile. I asked a couple of simple questions about the products and was met with so much visible annoyance that I started wondering if I was accidentally asking for state secrets instead of information about cinnamon rolls and coffee. How can you have a bakery and just visibly hate the people in your establishment?? When I got back to the car, I looked up the reviews because I genuinely thought, "Surely this can't be normal." Reader... it was and it seems to be happening at an alarming rate. Clearly she reads these reviews....clearly SHE is the problem. Apparently a bearded guy is also a total jerk but thankfully we didn't have the displeasure of dealing with him ...we saw some tall guy sans beard behind her but he kept to himself. Review after review described the exact same experience, which was oddly validating and equally disappointing. I'm just happy we parked in an actual parking spot bc apparently that's something else that's very triggering to them. It's a shame because the baked goods are genuinely tasty. But a cozy roadside bakery isn't just about great pastries. People come expecting warmth, friendliness, and a little Vermont charm. Right now, the cinnamon rolls are doing all the heavy lifting and honestly when it's served alongside that kind of coldness and attitude, they just simply aren't worth it. Hopefully one day the hospitality catches up to the baking.

It was so hard deciding on what to try as we wanted to take it all home. My husband thought it was the best turnover he ever had. I second that about the blueberry cake (which was sold by the 1/4 loaf, 1/2 or whole). It melted in my mouth. There were cakes, cookies, muffins and on and on. We always include the A Frame when visiting anything close to that area. It's worth the trip there!!

I was 40 feet from the door, and the smell wafting toward me was fabulous. Inside, there were several bakers preparing muffins and other goodies (for the next day?). Lucy was waiting on a woman who had driven down from Brattleboro. This woman was praising the decaf coffee, and baked goods. I opted for a lemon bar and an almond croissant with chocolate. The woman approved. Quick digression - very clean bathroom, w an interesting painted sink (see pix)....and an old Remington typewriter. The lemon bar was amazing. My lips were so puckered the rest of my 50+ mile ride home, I was fantasizing about my good friend, also named Lucy, and what I could do with those puckered lips. Had the croissant later that evening. One of the best I've ever tasted. Definitely worth a visit.

It was for a birthday I made cannoli cake but didn't want to make the actual cannolis to save time but wanted a higher quality version than price chopper I also got a latte and it was very good- nice and hot (some places they're kinda cooler) The service was great a woman with short brown hair helped me & made the latte. It was a very cute cafe /bakery and idk if they make their desserts but if they do- great job! Im happy either way and the birthday boy said the cannolis were perfect.

Seriously, there is someone here to blame. What is their name? I want to know. Sure, it's not a civil or criminal offense. But it's a crime against food. It's a crime against the people of Saratoga Springs. And it's just plane offensive. I regret if anyone was driven to try Mrs. London's based on my previous glowing reviews. I am so sorry. I had no idea. But I was just there this morning. I gazed into the pastry case at the croissants, and my heart sank. I felt sick. The croissants looked like something you would see in an airport. I think the croissants at Costco might be better. These were flat, flabby, and pale things. Far from the perfect, golden, flaky, structured, glistening beauties of the past. And this isn't about fond recollections. I have receipts. Photos from the past and pictures of the present. It's night and day. If the new owners aren't going to preserve Mrs. London's food, they should have the decency to put someone else's name on the joint. I too asked about the breads, and was told "their baker retired". Fortunately, Michael London taught other people to bake amazing artisan bread, and his legacy lives on elsewhere. Unfortunately, nobody at the shop bearing his name bothered to pick up the torch. What a shame. It is so sad. I am literally heart broken. This was one of my favorite bakeries in the country. I went out of my way to make a special stop in my limited time passing through the region. But I suppose nothing lasts forever, and this is a valuable reminder of that unfortunate fact. My days visiting Mrs. London's are over. I can no longer recommend it in good conscience. Perhaps the hot chocolate is still good, and the decor is still lovely. However, if you look closely at the glowing reviews, they all point back to a time that has now sadly passed.
