DO NOT USE! Beyond unprofessional and his behavior was disgusting. Apologize for the language below but it's important to know who you are dealing with if you wanted to go with Dan the affordable moving man now Vernay Movers. DON'T BE FOOLED. Look up Dan the Affordable Moving Man and read the reviews yourself. Dan got so many bad reviews for his awful treatment of customers as well as women that he changed the name of his company. Just search for Dan the Affordable moving man on Yelp, Angi, Google etc and see all the reviews. My wife and I have used Dan for years and have thrown a lot of business his way and how he treated us and spoke to and about my wife is reprehensible. Due to issues with a home renovation being massively delayed, we had to change the move date. Dan was super rude on the phone with my wife and told her he needed $400, in cash, before he would even look at another move date. We called 10+ days before the scheduled move. When he showed up to collect said payment, my wife told him how hurt she was by how he spoke to her (A 15 year client) on the phone. Dan proceeded to swear repeatedly at her and call her a "Fucking Bitch". When I called Dan to demand an apology he did not answer and then proceeded to call her and us disgusting names via text messages which are attached below. This is how a third generation mover and someone in a "people" business speaks to and about long term customers. Imagine what he will do and say about you. Do not use Dan under any circumstances. my girlfriend and I moved from Stanhope to blairstown. Found Vernay's website and filled out an online form. Had a response in minutes and a quote minutes later! Moving day Rich and his helper (didn't get his name) showed up on time, Rich introduced himself, both guys were polite and helpful...the job was done with care and efficiency. They took some things that weren't on the list and took extra care of the things that needed it. When it came time for the bill it was adjusted down by almost half due to less movers than quoted and less time. They could've charged quote price but they did the right thing! We used Vernay to move my SIL who had lived in her home for 50+ years. It was a really emotional day, not to mention that we were not terribly familiar with using a professional mover. The first words out of one of the movers was, "don't worry, we've got this". The three guys that came (Joe, Ken and Gabe) were great to work with. They were professional, helpful, and helped us to just relax and get going. No issues at all with our move. Glad it is over .... moving is not fun. read more

Watch them like hawks! We paid for TV boxes which we ended up throwing away because they just wrapped two of our TVs in paper and they both broke. I called Evelyn and showed her pics and she called me a liar and was disgustingly rude. The TVs we boxed ourselves were fine. They were too lazy to take the stands off to fit them in the box. This was a small claim (under $800) and she wouldn't take any responsibility, I hate to see if it were an expensive piece of equipment or furniture damaged. Not only did they steal my jewelry (mover arrested and taken to jail) but they put all the bed frames together wrong They didn't fasten anything. I just discovered they moved my fire pit table but the logs are gone and the entire table is ruined. The stones all buckled. Completely incompetent. read more

I am speechless for what I experienced with this company. Ryan Vernay was supposed to come move me on the December 22nd my family and I just bought our first home. My husband and I confirmed with them just to be stood up 1 hour before my move was supposed to happen I had gotten a text from Ryan Vernay himself stating he could no longer move us he cancelled on us at 8am when my move was set for 9:30am so one hour before my move was set I had to rent a moving truck and do it on my own it was horrible this company is extremely unreliable. Last month I was shopping for the best rates on large storage units. After calling numerous places, I found a special rate on a unit in Andover NJ. The facility is definitely out of the way, but I had no idea that it is so far out of the way that none of the well known stuff haulers that I normally use would go to the area. I called numerous other places and either they did not go to the area or they sounded a little sketchy. I then called Vernay Movers in Netcong. The woman that answered the phone was pleasant, knowledgeable and really tried to fit me in to their schedule on fairly short notice. When I arrived at the unit on the scheduled day, the three guys they sent to do the job were there waiting to get started unloading two large 16 foot pods into the storage unit. I could not believe how well they packed the unit. They packed it so well in fact, that the second small unit I rented anticipating overfill was totally not necessary and there was even some room left at the front of the unit! What a relief it was to get my belongings out of those costly pods. I wanted to give a shout out to Hans, Pete and Matt, the team from Vernay that I had that morning. Great experience with Vernay and my move to a new area. From the professional and reassuring booking through Kaitlyn and Connie with great follow up, to the actual move I was totally prepared to stress out but they never gave me reason to. It was a complicated move from one house to two locations so there was so much that could go wrong but nothing did. Not only did it run smoothly it finished under estimated hours and under budget? That I didnt expect! The estimate was very reasonable to begin with so the savings was a bonus! We had 4 men to move out and they added a fifth to move in as both new locations were 2nd floors. This is where I thought it was going to cost me. Nope saved money and about 3 hours time. Trust these guys they know what they are doing. If you are lucky enough to get them John is the pace setter, almost afflicted to get the job done right and fast. Honz amazed me with his ability, energy and pace. Kenny can carry more boxes on his back then I thought humanly possible, a real time saver! Kylle and Matt kept the mood light and helped me relax.. Thanks guys because of you I am spending my first day in my new home relaxed with no moving day post traumatic stress disorder. P.S. tip these gentlemen accordingly. The days of handing them a $20 Bill are over. Think of what you would tip a great server in a restaurant and apply it to your estimate. They will split that and best money I ever spent.
