As rude as they come. Called to see if he was available to move some furniture so they our hardwood floors can be done. He barked at his minimum fees which I was OK with. But then I asked if he was available on a certain date, that's where he became rude and un professional and wouldn't even answer the question. Told me to call back when I'm ready to sign a contract and collect his cash. I asked him again about the particular day and he continued with the callback when I'm ready to sign a contract crap. Apologize for the language below but it's important to know who you are dealing with if you wanted to go with Dan the affordable moving man. My wife and I have used Dan for years and have thrown a lot of business his way and how he treated us and spoke to and about my wife is reprehensible. Due to issues with a home renovation being massively delayed, we had to change the move date. Dan was super rude on the phone with my wife and told her he needed $400, in cash, before he would even look at another move date. We called 10+ days before the scheduled move. When he showed up to collect said payment, my wife told him how hurt she was by how he spoke to her (A 15 year client) on the phone. Dan proceeded to swear repeatedly at her and call her a "Fucking Bitch". When I called Dan to demand an apology he did not answer and then proceeded to call her and us disgusting names via text messages which are attached below. This is how a third generation mover and someone in a "people" business speaks to and about long term customers. Imagine what he will do and say about you. Do not use Dan under any circumstances. Price gouging!! Dan had moved me in at the House of the Good Shepherd in Hackettstown. The move with 2 men wearing masks went fine. I called him to help move me just across the complex. He attempted to price gouge me. In November 2 men had spent 3 1/2 hours moving us in. $400 as quoted. This time he starts ranting that he need 3 men at $125 an hour for a minimum of 5 hours for a minimum of $ 625. I reminded him that there was 1 couch and 1 chair less. and that 2 men did it in less time. He became irate. He started yelling that he was not having his men wear masks and not able to breathe and stormed out, continuing to yell at me as he went down the hallway. We were amazed at how quickly they loaded everything into their truck. Don't know where all these negative reviews came from as our experience with Dan and company was 100% positive. Dan came promptly to give us a moving quote, he walked us through all the applicable Jersey paperwork, and required no money in advance. On moving day Dan's guys showed up right on time and quickly, cleanly, and professionally loaded a 26' truck with items ranging in size and complexity from a glass floor lamp to a pair of 17' aluminum canoes. They arrived at the destination on time, and unloaded a truck-ful with not one item misplaced or damaged. We'll be moving again this year and we'll certainly be calling on Dan again. read more

I called them back, they answered finally and reached a guy who barked out rules and asked if I had a pen and paper 3x. $100 an hour, 2 guys, min 4 hrs, if that's good to let them know. Terrible exp. My sister booked Dan for 9/2 and paid him $400 in cash. 10 days prior she was taken into Morristown Hospital and was inpatient for ,2 weeks. I ( her twin sister) called Dan 5 xs and no response. All I wanted to do was move her date out or use our $400 credit to simply unload a 10x10 storage unit. On my 6th call I get a nasty text message from Dan stating my sister cancelled last minute and basically 'Too bad-Sucks to be You attitude) He sent me harassing texts and claimed he didn't have to call me back since " I wasn't the client" I could understand that position if it wasn't my address that he was moving her from or even the fact that I actually gave my sister the money for the deposit. Dan was rude, unprofessional and down right nasty. Doing the right thing would've made him a hero. Instead, he will now be exposed for the self serving, unprofessional that he is. I have never used a moving company and was a bit nervous. I called Dan and seemed ok on the phone, he came to my house to fill out paperwork and we all got to talking and all around he is a good guy! The movers showed up 7am sharp ready to go, all 3 guys were amazing, friendly with us and the kids. We had a ton of stuff and can't believe they packed and unloaded in 5hrs! We have been able to use Dan for the past three moves that we've done! He is honest, professional, and incredibly hard working. He does a fantastic job moving within the specified limits and there are no hidden fees to worry about! He does a great job at estimating and quoting each job based on the furniture that you have, and lays out his rules/requirements up front at all so there are no surprises. He has a helper Tim that is excellent as well, and a super friendly pup that sometimes tags along for the ride! We will definitely use Dan again, and again, and again... although we're hoping that we don't need to move that much! Nothing about moving is ever fun, but Dan makes the process more than tollerable! My experience was horrific and costly leaving me with damages I did not have before they ever showed up. Furniture and clothes left behind after we moved. NO furniture set up. Plastic still everywhere, boxes left behind, no set up. Furniture was left outside. He was supposed to send 3 men he sent 2 and a 4 -5 hrs move took 11 hours. I have over $1000 of damages and when I spoke with Dan he was yelling and screaming saying his guys did a great job and proceeded to curse me out and hang up. No response after pictures were sent that showed their shotty work. HE ALSO SCREAMED WHAT DO YOU WANT WE DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE TO OFFER. As a woman and a mother it is beyond comprehension to be as verbally abused as I was but this was one of the most disgusting and disturbing things anyone should ever have to go through from their moving company, more specifically Dan the owner. I unfortunately had unforeseen circumstances at the home I was moving into and I needed to change my move in date. I gave ample notice with the full intention of using Dan for the later move. Dan was rude, disrespectful and not understanding to any of the circumstances and demanded his $400 in cash before he would consider even looking at another date. Upon arrival to retrieve his $400 in cash I told him that my feelings were hurt as to how he spoke to me on the phone and that I've given him so much business and referrals over the years (9 moves) and I would have thought there would be more respect. Dan immediately flipped out and called me a fucking bitch, piece of shit, scumbag and he hopes that whoever I find to move me doesn't show up and completely fucks me over. This behavior and verbiage was in front of my parents at their home who he also completely disrespected. He continued to yell profanities and curse words as he walked out of their house. From that point he rage texted horrible things about me and my family that I don't feel is appropriate to even share on here.
