We ordered the Italian classics and the Spanish stunners wine flight. I enjoyed all the wines that came with it! My favorite was the Albarino (Spanish wine flight). BLUF: good food, friendly service, but hidden fees soured the experience I have been here several times with friends, and always enjoyed the service and the choices of wine. Food has always been very good. This last visit was the same on both counts. This last visit however came with a surprise. They tack on a "fair wage fee" onto each bill. It comes out to approximately 10% of the bill total. Now, if they want to give a fair wage or a higher wage for their employees I'm all for supporting that. But don't do it with some hidden fee that no one knows about until it shows up on the bottom of the check. Raise the prices accordingly if you must, but I should not get a surprise when I get my bill. I'm not sure if they have been doing this for a while now, because typically I go with a group and we take turns paying the tab. But regardless it should not be a surprise. read more

I recently paid a first-time visit to Verre Wine Bar and felt welcome the moment I stepped in. Greeted with a smile I was whisked to a table with my date. It was easy to peruse the offerings over the app and soon our selections came out. One of the wines felt a little off so I ordered a third which came out immediately. Determining the situation quickly the staff member removed the other wine and offered to take it off the tab without question. Overall a great dining experience, we had a group of about 10 go to verre wine bar to celebrate a group of interns and there departure. We had to move a few tables, so the owner wasn't to happy about that but let us be, we were offered a free lunch to spread the word and that's what I'm here doing. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, it was great a solid 7+ out of 10! Although convenient, it would have been nice to get recommendations from an actual server. We both got customized flights, and tried 3 wines each. I really enjoyed their selections of Sauvignon Blanc and the variety of their offerings overall. They also have a bottle shop, and we ended up getting a bottle of our favorite white to go. Purchasing bottles to go is much cheaper than a bottle in the bar, so I would recommend doing a flight, finding your favorite, and then taking a bottle home. I really enjoy the ambiance (both in and outdoors) of Verre, which has well-spaced tables and a cute atmosphere inside, and a nicely-appointed outdoor area as well. I also appreciate the excellent service by servers I have seen regularly such as Paige, Seung, Tee, & Louise. Even though I don't go that often and sometimes just drop in, they tend to remember me and / or are very friendly. Also even from the first visit the service was prompt and cordial. One thing I like is that even though orders are done via QR code, if you need something in the moment or have a question it's still easy to find someone and receive service directly, so it does not feel impersonal. The wine selection is robust, with some changing selections, and they have a good food menu to go with it. I particularly have enjoyed the cheese board and the flatbreads (prosciutto and fig for the win). I have also joined the wine club and enjoy getting a different bottle every month, plus a tasting of two wines for me plus a friend any time I go in, as well as a percentage off of the purchase of a bottle. I had the Spice lineup which had a very nice Argentine Malbec and something Chilean, I would definitely order it again. Food was amazing. There's a fig and brie flatbread with jam that was so unique, sweet and savory, with perfect crust.
