I had been looking to get Novavax for the newest version of the COVID vaccine and after calling numerous CVS locations near me, I found out from the automated phone system message that this CVS carried it. However, to be on the safe side, I called and left a voicemail (it takes a lot of time navigating the phone tree to get to that option and I could not find a way to have it connect me directly on the phone to the pharmacist). For my first voicemail, the pharmacist called back to let me know it wasn't in stock yet and they didn't know exactly when it'd arrive and that the automated system isn't always accurate. I decided to book a vaccine appointment further out and then called back again the day before my appointment to double check, and fortunately they did have Novavax in stock and the pharmacist told me to make sure that when I check in at the pharmacy counter, I ask to have Novavax specifically, or else by default they would use Pfizer. The pharmacist was also quite timely and generally called me back within an hour of me leaving a voicemail each time. When I got there 30 mins early for my appointment, the wait was short (it was a weekday afternoon) for the vaccine check-in line. I was pleasantly surprised that the pharmacist remembered me when I checked in and recalled that I had talked to them over the phone and that I wanted Novavax. No inappropriate questioning about whether/how I was immunocompromised which I've encountered at other CVS locations in the east bay. They had at least 4 chairs in the waiting area and I didn't find it too noisy or overstimulating, which is what I typically encounter at local CVS and Walgreens pharmacies that are high traffic. It was very quick and I just had to wait no more than 5 minutes to get my actual vaccination, which happened in one of the little cubicles/booths (has an open ceiling) that they have for vaccinations. A different pharmacist was the one who administered my vaccine but they were efficient and let me know I just needed to wait at the pharmacy for 15 minutes in case of adverse side effects and then I was free to go. Both the pharmacists I interacted with were wearing surgical masks which I appreciate given the current COVID surge. It was a very smooth experience getting vaccination here and I appreciate how the pharmacist was courteous and timely in returning my calls and remembered who I was since I imagine they talk to many different people. It was a good enough experience that I'd seriously consider coming here for any further vaccinations even though this isn't the closest CVS to where I live.

Terrible service and workers, including their incompetent manager Richard. Came to pick up a same…read moreday poster order at 10:15pm which was ordered at 6:46pm and of course it's not ready. Assumed a same day order that said 7:40pm pick up would be ready at 10pm no problem. WRONG! I had no problem waiting after being told it's in the queue to print. After waiting about 20mins manager comes to offer help without me saying anything which started off as kind. Slowly but surely he didn't know what he was doing of course. Obvious lack of training so I give him that because I work in service too so I get it. I'm patient and understanding, no problem or complaint from me. He then made me resubmit my order to trouble shoot and I told him I paid already. He said ok resubmit and do a store pick up I won't charge you. I said well it's making me pay again and if it's not working I don't want another charge. He says let me try on your phone, so him and another worker proceed to also try and both fail at pay in store option. Again no complaint, at this point I'm invested in getting it to work too. We are a team against the problem in my eyes. So after being told he had this problem earlier and deleted it and resent it around 7:20 I stated I get it but someone could've called to let me know it didn't work the first time since it was to be picked up at 7:40pm. I was then told "You could've called too." Apparently putting your phone number in the section that states "phone number for contact" is irrelevant. So now I'm pissed because I was so chill and no attitude but now because I clearly called out a short coming as a manager for lack of communication he got a smart attitude. So I asked who's in charge of photos and he says no one is really in charge. I ask who is the manager and of course he's the manager. How convenient. So I left with no photos nor a refund and told to come back the next day in hopes they fix it. This never happens at Walgreens and I only went here for the coupon! Will not be doing business here anymore all thanks to the rude manager Richard and their crap printers. Get better managers and properly train your employees. And give refunds if printing doesn't work.

Recently, I started shopping at Walgreens again for my HABA needs (HABA is Health and Beauty Aids). But on a Tuesday evening, I went in this Walgreens for milk and ice cream. First thing I noticed.....there's no carts or shopping baskets. I looked around and didn't see any. I asked the cashier, and she said if you don't see any, then there must be none. She said I have to carry things in my hands. You know, that limits how much I can buy, and lowers the store's sales. I found my jug of milk and ice cream. I stood in line, and a customer ahead of me had the only shopping basket in the store. The thoughtful cashier offered it to me, so I could buy more stuff. I asked why no carts or baskets, and the cashier said they were all stolen. The shoplifters use the carts and baskets to carry away their items. I don't know if I'll shop in this store again. I drove a HALF HOUR to this location for a small kitchen appliance I needed to cook with since my stove is broken, and this was the closest to where I live. I tried ordering it online, the online ordering was seizing up, the item said "in stock," so I thought it would be "in stock" if I walked in and bought it in-store. NOPE. Gone from the shelf. I was not familiar with any part of San Leandro, and no one EVER answers a phone in ANY California Walmarts in Customer Service (you'd die trying, with the phone ringing for the next 50 years). So I had to drive in. The parking lot is like a convention of the most depressing and depressed-looking people on Earth and everything just looked filthy. I think the inside of County Jail is cleaner. So I drove to another Walmart a 9 minute drive away, the one on Hesperian, hoping I wouldn't be met with the same nightmare; I wasn't. The Hesperian one was clean, the lines moved fast, and the shelves were well stocked. In this one on Davis, the impression is just chaos and anarchy in the entire store. The Hesperian one is still a Walmart (and God help anyone for braving any of them), but at least THERE (NOT HERE!) I was able to get what I came in for, and leave, within a short time.

High Street is always a fantastic little pharmacy. They always have our medication, they have it on…read moretime, they have it at a reasonable cost and they tell us when it's not any of these things. That's what makes it a great pharmcy. I wish they had an online portal sometimes to refill things and tell me when things are ready but small cost for what is a great team. Plus they have the little peppermint candies I love for 10c.

As I continued shopping, I noticed Kyle greeting every customer he crossed paths with in the same friendly and genuine way. I was so impressed by his exceptional customer service, professionalism, welcoming smile, and positive attitude that I actually went back to find out his name just so I could write this review. Kyle truly stands out--he made me feel valued as a customer, and it's rare to encounter someone who consistently goes above and beyond like he does. Kyle deserves recognition for his hard work, dedication, and outstanding customer service. The good of this location is that it's not too far from 580, and other neighboring businesses in…read morethe Fruitvale MacArthur area. At this location you can also get your meds, even the hard to find ones as for whatever reason this location tends to have them. Aside from that, however, this location is not very good in general. Parking is almost always a nightmare. As it shares the same parking lot with farmer Joe's and another business at the end of the lot it's incredibly hard to find parking that's close to the front of the store when it's busy. Staff can also be rough. I think it typically depends on the mood or if they had to deal with rowdy customers, but more often than not you're going to run into someone that's ready to fight back in a verbal argument. The wait times to get your medication are also very overwhelming at times. In spite of this, I will give the CVS Pharmacy a 3/5. The reason I'm giving this a 3/5 is that I get it. I used to work in the area years back. I would occasionally end up coming to the store. I don't blame the staff entirely and the location itself can't be blamed for the parking situation.

Whenever I called, the pharmacy always answered and were very patient and informative. I learned I could have my meds delivered to my home, via door dash and the reps here told me the process. That's exactly what I ended up doing. Because of their help, I did not risk running out of meds and having to wait until the weekend to pick up. Great service.
