When I first moved to Colorado I read some article about Vesper being one of the best dive bars in Denver and didn't know what to expect. I think their food is delicious in addition to having a low key vibe and ability to be served quickly! It's a shame the street isn't entirely shut down anymore but that shouldn't stop you from coming and they still have outdoor seating and comfy booths. They have a great happy hour (recommend the burger slider) and I have loved their baba ganoush, juicy D burger!, and their fries with the delicious seasoning that always turns my fingers a little yellow but so worth it. read more

We came to this burger/bar joint after leaving a terrible restaurant. We weren't expecting much, we were just starving and wanted some quality drinks. Our server, Spencer, was very friendly and answered all of our questions about the menu. He gave us some good pointers on drinks and food. When the food arrived, it was impeccable. It was hot and fresh and delicious. The drinks were mixed well. The atmosphere was fun too. I really had no idea this was a dive bar but it's just perfect for an after dinner drank. All the bar seats were full so we sat at the little counter across from bar and still received attentive service from the friendly barkeeps. It serves brunch from 11-3 on Sundays and the chef is so amazingly talented. If you like lamb (and why wouldn't you?) you must get the Lamb Benedict! Oh. So. Good. There are a handful of other benedicts on the menu too, each with its own special hollandaise made from scratch. The Lamb came with a mint hollandaise..creamy and delicious. The tater tots are outrageously good. In fact, they may be the best I have ever had. We loved them so much (they come with each entree) that we had to order an extra side of them. The service is awesome and on Sundays you can booze up with bloody mary's, mimosas, man mosas (oj with agave wheat beer and more) etc- for $5. No lie! The bartenders are friendly and know how to pour a drink and discuss the menu (Hannah and Jake, I am talking about you!). So if you want a fantastic brunch that you don't have to wait 2 hours for, the Vesper Lounge is the place to be. We will be back...many times. read more

Best G'Damn Sloppy Joe I've ever had....sorry Mom! It took me back to one of my after-school favorites (second to grilled cheese and tomato soup). Alex, my super duper awesome bartender suggested that I add fresh jalapeños and I'm so glad he did. The extra kick took the flavor profile up a few notches. The best way I can think to describe this place is upscale dive bar. Good drinks and good bar food. vesper cocktail is delicious. They don't have an extensive menu but it's enough to have some options and seems to be healthier than the average "bar food" selection. Their fries are unique, I usually order them without the seasoning. Service is a bit slow when you sit at a table but they don't try to pretend this place is something that it's not. charming spot! Very good at creating hangovers / black outs! If someone had to replace the beloved Lancer, we could do much worse! Love the 'no anger' sign that was made out of the old lancer one, plus the back area is fun. The vibe is much different than ol' LL, but their extensive music selection on the juke box allows you to turn this place into whatever you want it to be. We have rocked some metal, some old school, and some party music. Unfortunately this place is a little pricey. I ordered a dirty martini and it was friggen $12! So, I say wait until happy hour and SHARE. I downed two of them the other night and oops, blacked out. But those were damn tasty martinis, I sure remember that! Their drinks on tap are tasty depending on your poison of choice. The nippler or whatever it is, was delicious. Also, the hummus is quite good. That is as far as I have gotten on the menu. Depending on who you talk to, the service is hit or miss. Some of the bartenders are great, others have less than welcoming attitudes. Plus, I think this place is haunted by booze hound ghosts, there is just something in the air that says 'get crazy wasted here'. It was true under previous ownership and it is true today. Working in the service industry I really hate to leave bad reviews, if this review was based solely on food and the cocktails it would be five stars but the service was ridiculously bad. Me and two friends went to go try out vesper lounge and grab a few cocktails on a Saturday evening, both indoors and outdoors had a decent crowd but it was easy to see that the servers and bartenders were not in the weeds. Throughout the course of our two hour experience the server only rocked up every 30-45 minutes. On two occasions he took our drink orders, waited thirty minutes while we all had empty drinks on the table then returned to take them again as though he didn't just come by, then charged us for both the drinks we did not receive and the second drinks ordered. after about an hour and a half we got tired of sitting there waiting for service and feeling like a nuisance for wanting to put in more food and drinks so we asked to close out. For 45 minutes after asking for our tab we watched our table run around from table to table dropping off tabs and drinks for other folks, taking orders and chatting with his friends that were sitting across the patio while shooting us a dirty look every few minutes. After a certain point we were so fed up waiting for the privilege of paying our check we went inside and asked the bar if we could close out. Our server finally rocked up, gave us a bunch of attitude then went to print out our check, on the way back to bringing it to us he stopped to talk to another server for five minutes, literally two feet away from us, holding our check which just felt like a huge intentional slap in the face. I just moved in a couple blocks away and was super stoked to try this place and hoped it would be my new spot for happy hour and a good meal a few times a week but after the terrible service I will not be back. I like Vesper! Been coming here for years. They have a patio and took over part of the street during covid times, and everyone is wearing masks. The happy hour is one of the best in town too - 2 for 1! Their cocktails are mostly on tap and pretty basic. They're not the strongest, but they're tasty. My fiance, Max, and I live close to Vesper, so we decided to pick up some wings and bring them home. Max had called initially to place a take-away order multiple times with no answer. So he decided to just place our order at Vesper. I didn't go with Max to get our food, but when he came back and opened our food, he was upset. He told me he asked for our wings to be extra crispy and that he asked the server taking his order how many wings come in the order. Max said he was told there were 12 wings but we only had 9 not-extra-crispy wings when he got home. The food was really good, though. I enjoyed the wings, even though they were a bit soggy and the fries had a good seasoning on them. I'll be happy to actually sit in the restaurant and give it another go. Vesper was crowded and also kind of dirty The falafel was the worst I have ever had- soggy. The fries tasted like they had cinnamon on them and were cold and under cooked. My friend got a burger and fries. We both barely touched our food. The bill was high and our server never asked if everything was okay. We visited for cocktails - no food. The outside space is nothing fancy but it was a beautiful evening and we enjoyed our time. Cocktails are decent but be aware they are "on tap" so not individually created. Staff were helpful and friendly. Starting 9/30/21, you'll be required to prove your vax status to enter/be served and that's where my relationship with Vesper Lounge ends. This isn't Nazi Germany and regardless of vax status, I will not give my money to any company who requires anyone to "carry papers." Bonanno Concepts (owner of Vesper Lounge) has this policy for ALL of their establisments. read more

Adopted this establishment as my hometown bar after just one visit after moving here from New York. Bartender Steve goes leaps and bounds out of his way to entertain guests, provides excellent service and it's always entertaining to see him do so much so fast and effectively. Super disappointed in this place. The man with the beard is a complete jerk!!! Walked in, he greeted me absolutely poorly, then handed me menus, he said he would be right out. We waited for a few minutes; we figured he was busy, however he helped all the tables around us. So we waited more... after 10 minutes of waiting and trying to get his attention, we realized he was not interested in waiting on us. So we left and went to other choices down the street. And I'm so glad we did. We were greeted so well at Logan Street, by a lovely server that wanted to bring people into her restaurant. My bf and I are both servers and thought seems like Vesper lounge is doing just fine during this pandemic, so people should support other restaurants that want to serve you! Pretty cool spot. BUT DONT EAT THE FRENCH FRIES. They season them with cinnamon and something else which will literally stain your hands and anything your hand touches after eating them. Stellar dive bar w/ an amazing HH. Bartender Alex was slinging some excellent drinks and pointed us in the right direction for imbibing and snacking. The Mediterranean slant they had on their grub works for them, and they've got some very good bar snacks. Drinks were well priced and made.
