Eh. Not a huge fan - was hoping to find a great coffee shop somewhere in Orlando & thought this might be the place - not so much. I ordered a Cortado (which wasn't on the menu?), and my husband got a straight espresso. The product was bitter, and not enjoyable. As a barista, I know what a good extraction should taste like. Sad to say that for the quality of the product, it is very overpriced. The layout is clean and "trendy", but it felt sort of sterile and empty. That's my opinion anyway. :) read more

This place is a breath of fresh air in this crazy part of town where there are WAY too many high traffic stores crammed into one area. I'm not a huge fan of "Waterford" but I can sit in this coffee shop for hours. I've only visited twice and the first time it was packed due to a famous hurricane that left most of Central Florida without power and everyone wanted a place with air conditioning and WiFi to hang out (including myself). Even in its busyness, it was a smooth running place with seating that was limited but not scarce especially if you don't mind chilling at the community table. I enjoy coffee shops but I'm not a big coffee drinker so I can't be too much help there. However, I can drink a truckload of tea (and I do, daily) and haven't been disappointed with anything I have ordered here. Today, I ordered the Tangerine Ginger Iced tea and thought it was quality. The parking situation is normally alright, especially if you don't mind walking down a few storefronts. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. read more

My wife and I consider ourselves to be coffee geeks and are always interested in finding that "wonderful" cup of Joe. Yesterday, we decided to try Vespr after a recommendation from the Orlando Food Critic 2015. Sorry to report we were very disappointed for the following reasons: 1. No dark roast beans. We prefer a robust bean like french roast or Sumatra. How about offering a choice? 2. Cups were not pre-heated, therefore the serving temperature was cooler than properly served. 3. Prices were outrageous. For example, we were at a coffee bar in Bolder,CO last week (everything is more expensive in CO), and the cost of the Bolder pour-over was half the cost. PROS: 1. Creative menu. 2. Free WiFi 3. Nice place to chill...consider updating your couch and chairs. 4. Pleasant employee....note I said employee...only one present. read more

Great spot, had the Honey Malt, the cold brew coffee in it was so smooth, my sister had the same and loved it along with a lavender shortbread cookie that was great as was my nutella twist cake. Love this place! I've been here many times, and it's one of my favorite places to go and get homework done! The coffee is great, and one of my favorite drinks is the vintage honey malt. Compared to other coffee options it can be a bit pricey, that being said they do have the words 'craft coffee' in the name. As others have said this place has a very hipster-y vibe, so if that's something you're looking to avoid then keep that in mind. Overall, this place serves amazing drinks! Vespr is a beacon of caffeinated goodness in the Waterford Lakes area. It's pretty hidden in one of the smaller office space/plaza buildings. The interior is pretty sparse (intentionally) and streamlined with tables, a couple bar areas, couches, and bean bags in the very back. The lighting is dim in parts, but overall it has a hip feel about it. The coffee menu is on the wall behind the counter, and they have some food offerings beyond the baked goods in the case. They've moved much more towards raw, vegan snacks and away from the more brunch-friendly items they used to have, so I don't know if I would count on ordering a meal here. The coffee is definitely good. I like ordering the regular coffee because you get a little glass carafe and a cup (when you order for there). It sounds silly, but I thoroughly enjoy the elevated experience of being able to pour my own and have a fancy little set up. The drinks they make are tasty and quite unique. I loved the Scarlett Johansson with almond milk, rich, velvety, and not overly sweet. If you're in the Waterford Lakes area and looking for a caffeine fix, make your way to Vespr. read more

Vespr is pretty cool. I can't really rate this place out since I have not tried anything off their menu, only came here for a event and Vespr was kind enough to host the event. But I'd definitely give this place a try whenever I'm back in the area. Not a fan of coffee, but definitely will try the other drink specials they have! This place from walking is you get that chill-laid back vibe, and instantly puts me in a calm mood. The colors are a little dark, but it's nice and easy on the eyes. It was cool seeing that their menu was on paper and hung by clips. Gave me the idea that they can easily change their menu which was cool. They had a nice display of pastries which are laid out on these cool grey slates and salads which were served in a jar. Fun! First of, good god their entrance door is HUGE. That being said, the decor of this place has a modern sleek feel that gives you this cozy feeling the moment you walk in. Coffee is obviously amazing. OMG. It's freezing in here! Bring a shawl, hoodie or blankie... Seriously frigid! Coffee is crafted with care, and served in large white mugs. Upscale treats are served on slate "trays", and were the "now and happening" offerings eg: salted caramel and bacon something or other. So cute here. I heard of Vespr at the Florida Film Festival. On that day I got to try the Lana Del Ray (which is a coffee flavored froth) and the Barrel Smoked Bourbon infused Tea. Both were amazing. When I finally made it to the actual location, I opted for the Maple Madegascar Vanilla latte. It came with some yummy crunches on the rim. I finished the whole thing by the time we made it to our car and to Home Depot on the other side of the shopping center. I'm not over in Waterford that often and will probably be there even less now that my friend is moving away from that side of town. But, I would make the trip out to go to Vespr. read more

This morning was a 45 minute drive sort of day. @OrlandoFamStyle @Tarajroth Brian and I were meeting for the Lunch Bunch today and we decided to start things off with some craft coffee. Vespr has been here for about a month in the Waterford Towers on Alafaya. Kaitlin who was helping us today mentioned that they would be adding new items to the menu. @TastyChomps did a beautiful write up and posted some videos on Vespr. Being our first time we went The Coffee Siphon way. Had to do it. The Siphon produces more flavor, clarity, and lighter body. Kaitlin was nice enough to explain the process. The Coffee Siphon is like a water vac system. Water vapor goes to the top of the chamber. You steam coffee grounds to a minute and a half. Reduce from heat and the paper filter traps all oils on the top. Not exactly what she said but ya get the idea. Not the best explanation, but @TastyChomps has it all spelled out for ya. After reading posts on Vespr it made me want to go and try this place. I also looked it up on line and found the whole process of The Coffee Siphon. I was amazed by the whole process. I ordered the Senda Salvaje. Honeysuckle, smooth lemon zest, honey, tangerine, roasted cocoa nib. @Tarajroth ordered the Brazil Ipanema-Peaberry. White grape, Asian Pear, roasted hazelnut. I took a sip of each coffee as is. Being the typical Latino that I am I asked for lots of milk to add to it. I could still appreciate the flavor of the coffee. Overall, nice place. Sweet treats are always a plus in any coffee shop. They had some small cookies and sweets, but nothing that will fill you up. It's only been open for about a month and I can see this place truly being successful in this location. Kaitlin, you rock girl! Thanks for showing us the way of the Siphon. If you're used to drinking Starbucks everyday, this place won't taste as good the first time because you're probably so used to the syrups they put in it. (I am guilty of this the first two times I came in.) But I kept hearing good things about this place so I gave it multiple tries. One night, the owner was asking me my thoughts on his coffee shop and I told him how I felt and he explained to me how he wasn't aiming to be a DD or Starbucks. It's the taste of a good ol' cup of tea with your option to add some sweeteners by the table. He then was nice enough to offer me something on the house that he thought would change my mind and it did! He gave me something that you open a jar with ice that had such a refreshing smell, a shot glass of maple syrup, and the tea in another container. He explained to me how to mix it and it has been my favorite drink since then! Again, the cookies and pastries aren't like Starbucks, but it's a different taste of good. I enjoyed it very much! I once spent 3 hours in here doing my homework and watching Netflix. Super relaxing! read more

I'm really pumped that Orlando now has a great selection of independent coffee shops. I think that Vespr chose a great area to set up shop. The Waterford area has too many plazas and not enough character. Vespr stands out and it seems like it has a growing fan base. Likes: I loved that this coffee shop was clean both literally as well as design wise. The whole presentation from the layout of the store to the actual coffee is impressive. Dislikes: The store is long and narrow, so it's not the most comfortable area to hang out. There are no typical coffee shop nooks with comfy couches. The seating is mainly tables against the wall and a lot of bar stools to sit on. If I needed to do homework I would go to Vespr, but not to hang out for the heck of it. I ordered the Madagascar Vanilla Latte. The latte art was beautiful and it came in a timely manner. The problem I had with it was that it was way too sweet. The sweetness overpowered the vanilla and all I could taste was sugar and espresso. I love sweets, but this was too much for me. I'm looking forward to visiting Vespr again soon and give it a second chance! read more
