This review is only for coffee, I did not have any food. The coffee here is outstanding. I had a pour-over, and it was amazing, and not very expensive. I could really taste the flavor notes, you can tell it's freshly roasted and ground and prepared correctly. They roast the beans here, and overall, I think the inside is super comfy. They have all sorts of different seating, from tables and a couple booths to couches. They also have a small kids area, with a couple games, books, and coloring, which is a huge plus. There's board games too. From downtown, you can take the LRT to the last stop and then walk on the bike/pedestrian path here, it's a pleasant walk. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as I walked in, I was convinced this was the cutest coffee shop I've ever seen. The atmosphere immediately transported me to New York City.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sarah and Erin greeted me with such great energy that they instantly made me want to come back and become a regular. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had to take a moment to look around because the entire place has an incredible aesthetic and vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then I ordered an iced double espresso with cream, and it was absolutely out of this world. It was so good that I ended up buying a whole bag of coffee to take home. I got the Main Street Espresso, and it has amazing notes of chocolate and berry--smooth, rich, and delicious. There's something special about a small business that roasts its own beans rather than pulling bags off a shelf.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can tell they take the craft seriously, and as someone who has been diving deep into the world of small-batch roasting lately, it was an immediate win.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Order: Off-Menu Customization I decided to go off-script. I saw a Brown Sugar Espresso on the menu but was really in the mood for something chilled, so I asked for a Brown Sugar Cold Brew. The barista (I didn't catch her name, unfortunately!) was fantastic. She was incredibly informative about their coffee profiles and didn't hesitate to customize my drink. We even chatted about the roasting process--I'm really hoping they follow through with the idea of hosting classes on different beans and roasting techniques in the future! The Verdict The Taste: The cold brew itself was excellent. The brown sugar flavor was subtle and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. It let the quality of the coffee shine through. Came here with my friend for a coffee class which was so insightful. This class was about coffee brewing 101 and all the factors from temperature, to water to vessels used. I learned quite a bit that was unexpected. For example they sent Norfolk tap water to France for testing and it received great ratings on its cleanliness and lack of particulates. After the class I spoke to the staff before ordering a drink. They close at 2 and it was almost that time so they were out of the drink I initially wanted to try. Instead I tried a blueberry lime espresso tonic which was different and I enjoyed it. (I have even started making them at home). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall I recommend this shop it has a nice open feel and positive vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also sell their own coffee blends, they roast beans in house and make their own syrups from scratch for the drinks. read more

Service sucked, took forever to make my drinks even though I was the only person waiting for anything. Not friendly staff, wouldn't come back. They spent more time tasting drinks than making mine. New coffee shop! Whoop whoop! I got a dirty chai latte with oat milk, and it was the best one I've had yet. It is very clean in side the cafe and a very nice vibe. Highly recommend people trying it out. It also is very convenient to get pastries from the bakery next to them and then get coffee here! I definitely will be coming here everytime I visit norfolk. I decided to visit Vessel because Ceremony was doing a pop up bar this season and it was very enjoyable. Watching Chris craft a non alcoholic cocktail was pure art. I also grabbed a breakfast sandwich from Vessel, which was amazing. The sausage, egg and cheese on brioche was top tier. Stopped by Vessel Craft on a Saturday morning - no line and quick service. It was a huge space, which was nice to hang out in. I got the Lavender latte with oat milk, which was really good. The lavender was not artificial tasting, but very floral. If you're looking for a subtle lavender taste though, this is not your drink because you can definitely taste it. Super solid. Very pleasant folks working the counter. Only drawback are limited hours; closes at 3pm. But for a morning/early afternoon spot it's my favorite by far. read more
