First time eating here and was pleased with the food but they are a little pricey...$27 for a small pizza. Service was great. Our server was really friendly and accommodating, she helped my cousin decide which pie to get. Although, she didn't like or enjoy her selection because the crust was to thin for her liking and she did not care for the taste of the mushrooms. I on the other hand enjoyed my pizza, the pepperoni was not real salty and the Brown Sugar Lemonade was refreshing. The restaurant is located on Broadway in Redwood City, spacious indoor. seating and outside eating is offered but I saw that some of the patrons were constantly fighting off the pigeons...yuk! They were pretty busy with lots of call in orders. If you like upscale pizza give them a try. Pizza is not my favorite choice of food but it was very tasty.

Wowza! We heard about this place through BTS of course. We actually don't even listen much, but wanted to check it out. We arrived around 11:15 on a Saturday and it was surprisingly not very packed. I got seated right away, they only were maybe 30% full. We ordered mushroom toast and one of the pesto pizzas. Kinda wanted to do 2 pizzas but we weren't hungry enough. Server was awesome, unfortunately I don't remember his name but tall, skinny, gorgeous locks of hair, charismatic, and his favorite dish is the mushroom toast. Hope that's enough info! The mushroom toast was great. I don't know how but the texture of that bread was absolutely perfect. Perfectly toasted, not too crunchy, still nice spongy and flavorful, with fancy mushrooms in a cream sauce. Delicious! The pizza was also fantastic. To be honest the only upscale restaurant I've ever ordered pizza from is pizza antica at Santana row. I was never really blown away by that place, but for somewhere more popular and delicious, they charge just about the same price! Needless to say, pizza antica will never satisfy my fancy pizza craving. I'm coming to Vesta every single time I need to go SFO from now on. This place rocks! I was hoping to try some pear or cherry pizza that I've heard about online, some daily special, but no specials were mentioned to me. Next time!

Burrata with salted country loaf, loved this

Neopolitan pizza place in downtown Redwood City. My wife comes for lunch sometimes and spoke highly of it so when we happened to be around on the weekend she was excited for the family to try. It's in a popular area so save time for parking, they do take reservations as well. I love the interior design, the layout remind me of Terun with the oven in front, bathrooms in the middle, and a heated back patio. Pinot + fresh squeezed lemonade: The lemonade had a disntinct darker brown color that we also get at home from fresh squeezed, the kids loved it. The pinot was a good light lunch drink and perfect with the pizza. Pork meatball appetizer with tomato sauce: My wife raved about these and I could see why, they are good tasting meatballs and the sauce with chunky bits of tomato and chunks of sliced parmesan paired well with it. Burrata plate: Burrata with salted pieces of country loaf bread, we got this first and it set the bar high. Luckily the rest of the meal was also good. Sausage and honey pizza: My wife said this was a must have and though it was good it tasted a bit too "fusion" to me like something you can find at CPK. Buffalo margherita: Loved this though the moisture from the buffalo does make this more "wet" than normal Neapolitan style. Carbonara: Egg with bacon, a classic variant I am into and it tasted amazing.

I've been coming to vesta for years and they are always consistently great all around. I came in on a Thursday with my family and we made a reservation though it wasn't busy yet. We came in soon after opening so it was pretty quiet inside. They had a nice outdoor section too but it was pretty hot. For starters we got the arugula hazelnut salad, Calabrian Caesar salad, meatballs with tomato sauce, pan fried zucchini cakes and their mushroom toast but we subbed crispy polenta instead of the toast. Both salads were tasty though I think they each needed more dressing since there were some dry bites in there. The meatballs were a crowd pleaser, everyone enjoyed them. Their tomato sauce was bright and rich in flavor. The mushrooms and polenta were comforting and satisfyingly savory. My favorite app ended up being those pan fried zucchini cakes. They were such a pleasant surprise they had a fresh and bright flavor from the lemon and yogurt sauce. There was a healthy amount of zucchini in each cake and not a lot of breading which I loved. They were still able to hold their shape though and made for a great bite For pizzas we went simple and just shared a pepperoni pizza and pesto cheese pizza. The pepperoni came with hot honey and was delicious. I appreciated that the pizza wasn't too floppy because sometimes with this style of pizza picking up a slice without everything falling off is difficult. But not with these. The pesto cheese was herby and savory. Definitely a bit greasy but the flavor was there so I wasn't mad at it We were so full and didn't have any room for dessert so we called it a night after this. Service was fairly quick and efficient. The food was consistent and we were more than satisfied with what we ordered. We'll hopefully be back soon!

    Sausage & Honey Pizza

This pizza place was sooo delicious. Like many others, I wanted to try this place because BTS stopped by during their tour stop and it didn't disappoint. We grabbed 3 different pizzas for the 5 of us... carbonara, pesto and soppressata, and sausage honey. The sausage and honey was my personal favorite. I'd recommend ordering a red and white sauce to try while you're here. The pizza itself wasn't too oily and the flavors all meshed together really well. For the burrata plate, the amount of cheese you get was more than enough for the slices of bread. Surprisingly a highlight of the meal even though it's just toasted bread and cheese. I could get full on this plate alone. The restaurant had an elevated ambiance with the dark lighting, lots of seating with an outside patio in the back. I would definitely recommend grabbing a reservation ahead of time if you can. Would be a cute date spot or spot to catch up with friends! Would come again!!

    Indoor and outdoor seating

Great spot with indoor, outdoor and a back area seating. We ordered the special burrata with a pistachio pesto sauce and short ribs with salad. As well as the beef pizza and mushroom toast. Enjoyed it all. Service was great from the hostess to our wait staff. Liked the ambiance of the indoor and outdoor option, though some areas were a little tight, like the hallway to the bathroom. Only conundrum was one all-gender restroom for the entire restaurant.

I took out a Beef pizza from here. Pizza was full of flavor. It was delicious. It was a weekday evening. Still the place was full. The whole neighborhood was lively.

I went to Vesta for a dinner date with my partner, and we had a good time! We did not have a reservation, and waited about 15 minutes for a table. When we got seated, the waiter was quick and helped us get our order in. The food came relatively quick! I was excited to try their seasonal peach pizza, and luckily they still had some left! The balsamic on the peach pizza gave it a nice sweetness with the bacon salty bits. The sausage and honey pizza was also so good! The honey really pulls the flavors together, and the sausage was tender. Next time, we would like to try their pineapple and prosciutto pizza! We will be back!

    Pork Shoulder & Polenta
    Christopher S.

Came here with some friends. Plenty of parking nearby. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Inside is nice, though I found that only one single occ restroom for so much seating seamed an interesting choice. Waiter was also a good host of the table. Anyway ordered a salad, pork shoulder app, carbonara pizza, and sausage and honey pizza. While the ingredients seem to be of good quality and the pizza dough is well done, I felt the apps and pizzas fell short. Pork shoulder just didn't have a great flavor over all, fried polenta was also kind of sweet. The carbonara pizza was muted in flavor, with the egg yolk being fully cooked as well. I would have expected a much saltier flavor being carbonara but it felt like almost no salt at all. Would have preferred chunks of guanciale or something. Sausage and honey pizza was good but nothing spectacular.

    Large Butter Lettuce Salad
    James H.

I feel like they got even more popular after BTS dined there. For me it was just aright. Butter salad was literally a whole head of butter lettuce with leaves pulled off and pickled onions. Both margherita and honey/sausage were aright. Super thin so it was hard to pick up. Both crusts were a bit too charred for my liking. Service was good though they were busy. Indoor/outdoor seating. Street parking and garage nearby.

This place is located in downtown Redwood City. I came here for lunch and this place was very packed. I heard it was also where BTS came. Lots of people were taking pics inside while we were eating. The service was great and the interior was nice. The server was able to give us lots of recommendations. We got the beet salad, a burrata plate, a jalapeño sausage pizza, and a carbonara pizza. The sausage pizza was the best and it was something they are well known for.

Was craving some local pizza, and this place has been going viral because BTS members have tried it, so we decided to give it a try. They have a great selection of pizzas. The pizza was good, but it didn't really stand out. I also loved that they have plenty of outdoor seating. It's conveniently located in downtown Redwood City, with lots of parking nearby. Just a heads-up, it gets super crowded during peak dinner hours, and the wait can be long. If you don't want to wait, I'd recommend ordering takeout like I did or visiting during off-peak hours.

    pesto soppressata
    Kevin T.

TL;DR: Best pizza peninsula! Long-time supporter first-time reviewer. I've tried a bunch of pies but always come back to our 2 favorites: - classic Margherita: great crust and perfect char - Pesto soppressata: such a good balance and great flavor I would write more but really not needed. It's just the best. Saw the line driving by the other day - do not come on weekends hah Cheers, Vesta!
