You have people who are talking late night strolls with their children, their loved ones, or just having dinner. A pull away from reality where the Bay Area moves so fast with time. Vesta is located in the middle of that. They have an indoor and outdoor seating which is great when the weather permits, and you wanna bring your pup for a nice walk and some pizza. I genuinely love the place because of the customer service. They are generally super sweet, and so attentive. You don't know what to eat, ask the server for their recommendations. Everything is made in house, and is so good! I probably tried half the menu, and so far, everything I've had was amazing. Even during closing time, they don't rush you while you're having conversations that might last a little longer than anticipated, but of course, we had to be aware of ourselves because people tryna go home! Vegan pizza options! Incredibly busy when I visited, thanks to BTS fans. Luckily, I was able to try the Vegan Maple Mushroom Pizza and the Spicy Vegan Pesto Pizza. They were both delicious. The price was fair as it was enough to share with 2-4 people, depending on how hungry your group is. I liked the pistachio pesto because it added a bright, nutty, and garlicky base to the pie. I also really enjoyed the kick from the serrano chilis which paired nicely with the maple mushrooms. The staff were friendly & provided quick service. Yah this was crazy. The featured pizza was cherry soppressata goat cheese smoked mozzarella and it was incredible. Friends and I agreed that the carbonara pizza was too heavy for our taste. We enjoyed the sausage and honey pizza though. But the featured pizza blew it outta the water for sure, my goodness. Made reservations here after my favorite K-pop group dined here three times and raved about it, so obviously I had to come! There weren't a ton of reservations available due to the recent popularity but I actually enjoyed coming in at 4pm to avoid the dinner crowd, and it was nice weather to dine outside in the patio. I preferred the patio just because in the inside was actually quite warm, due to the pizza oven in there. Parking wasn't too difficult at this time on a Saturday, we easily found metered parking less than a block away, but there are a couple of parking structures nearby as well. Service was top notch from the minute we arrived and spoke to the host. They were so kind to us and our children, and checked on us quite frequently, but not in an annoying way. So many great options on the menu - and I like that they separated them by red sauce and white sauce! I'm usually a white sauce fan but I just had to try the sausage honey pizza, which did not disappoint at all. The pizzas are thin crust but the best thin crust I've had - not crunchy or papery, just the right amount of softness and texture that you'd want! And since it was thin crust I wasn't getting too full off of the pizza dough. My husband and I easily shared the sausage honey pizza, but I would have loved to try that carbonara pizza! We didn't want to take any leftovers so I'm glad that we were able to at least finish one pizza without being too full. First let's start with the good things: We really liked the ambiance of Vesta. We sat in the back patio and enjoyed a beautiful Saturday lunch in Redwood City. Our host and waiter were really nice and friendly. I also liked that you can tell the ingredients they use to make the pizza is fresh. We ordered the Sauvignon blanc, pork meatballs, grilled sourdough bread, margarita pizza and the sausage & honey pizza. The pork meatballs to me were the best part of the lunch. I liked how it was cooked. Very juicy and the tomato sauce was light. Though I would say tomato sauce was a touch too light. Otherwise I would give those meatballs a 8.2/10! The grilled sourdough bread was pretty good. Nicely toasted and perfect with a side of balsamic. The wine was also tasty! 9/10 to both of those. Let's get to the not so good things: If you like fresh ingredients and lean more towards the light seasoning side of eats, this may be the place for you. Unfortunately for us we felt the margarita pizza was lacking. The pizza didn't hold up well with the tomato sauce and cheese just slides off into the plate as you're picking it up. I'll fault that to the fat content of the cheese plus the olive oil. The outer crust was just crispy enough so that was okay. I think this pizza would benefit greatly from just a bit more salt. Sadly I'm going to have to give that a 5.1/10. The sausage & honey was decent. We felt the tomato sauce had a big step up in flavor compared to the margarita pizza but then it made me question if all this flavor is coming from the honey? Not sure but it was actually the one we ate the most of. 6.4/10. Both pizzas still just could not keep their toppings and cheese on. Why 5 stars? Because the sausage and honey pizza was STUPID. --- --- --- Stupid is a good thing, FYI. This was quite possibly the thinnest pizza I've ever had. It was absolutely the kind that you have to roll up to eat, otherwise it's just a flimsy mess. But as it turns out, this flimsy mess was absolute hot fire. To be honest, my only regret is that I didn't order two of them. They were thin and light enough that I absolutely could have housed a couple. And they were tasty enough that maybe I could have done three. My friend wasn't too hungry, but he wanted to try the meatballs, and I was a huge fan of those too. There was no sauce involved, but they were not dried out at all. There was some really unique flavor going on that I couldn't quite put my finger on, but we both loved these. I originally had a reservation here the following night, but had to change my plans and was bummed I was going to have to miss it. We got the grilled sourdough bread as an appetizer, and loved the fact that it was warm and not too crunchy, it was just right. Phone did not eat first at my first time at Vesta. I reserved for 10 people about 1 week ago for a Saturday night. First time I called the hostess who picked up was so rude and didn't even try to get me the reservation. I asked for 10 people at 7:30pm and she made it sound like an inconvenience. Put me on hold for a split second to "confirm" and said no not available someone else already booked that time with a large group. I then asked for 8 or 8:30pm. She said she had to ask her manager again, which I then patiently waited for a few seconds, then she finally put my on hold, but just for another split second. Told me to just come 30 minutes early than when you want to sit and we can put your name down. I was so turned off because I don't think I'd be seated so easily with 10 people on a Saturday night, and I called to make a res because I can't get there that early. This was my birthday dinner and I've been wanting to try this place so I tried again the next day. Thank goodness this time the hostess was so nice and was able to easily book me for 8pm. Day of we were seated by 8:09pm. The back patio was really nice- moody bistro lights and not too windy so temperature was good. The amount of stars I add after each dish will mean how much I liked it lol: We ordered a lot of starters, from the butter lettuce salad to the Gorgonzola salad, to pork meatballs with arugula*, mushroom toast**, sourdough bread, burrata with grilled pear. Let me tell you, this place has the best wood fire pizzas I've had. I love pizza in general so I can really taste when the whole slice is perfectly made. So we just showed up around 6:30 PM on a Thursday and hope for the best. Outside seating was mostly empty, but it was a chilly night, so we chose to wait for an indoor table. Quoted 20 minutes, but we were seated in about 15. Inside was warm and cozy. Totally worth the wait. We ordered three pizzas and they were all great. Nestled in downtown Redwood City, is this beautiful restaurant with a brick oven that's pumping out delicious thin crust pizzas. We made a reservation for 8pm and the service was great! It was also incredibly busy and full. They have a front patio, dining area, and back patio. Family friendly, perfect for date night or catching up with friends. I will say the tables are close together so if hearing the conversation next to you isn't your thing it might overstimulate you. Salads are great, kale salad here is the best. I get it every time and it's not dry or bitter, very refreshing and flavorful. Pan seared Zucchini cakes were not what I expected at all (in a great way) the shredded zucchini, lemon and creamy sauce it pairs with will give you real life ratatouille vibes. I always get the pepperoni! That honey chili sauce they glaze it with is 10/10. We tried the burrata pizza and it did not disappoint. It's been a minute (ok maybe closer to 6 years ago) since I've been to Vesta but I remember the pizzas being really tasty so it was fortunate that we were able to snag a Friday night dinner table. It was 40 minutes but time flies as you walk along Broadway. Looking over the menu, there were several options that caught our eye but once we heard the current special, we knew we wanted it. It was a nice mix with the savory sausage, spicy serrano, sweet onions, and peppery/earthy broccolini. The crust had a good droop at the tip with a nice chewy bite at the crust. It was fired off very nicely too with just enough char to make it interesting without giving off burnt notes. We also added the mushroom toast which featured a nice mix of mushrooms with ooey gooey cheese filling every nook and cranny slathered over a thick piece of acme bread and drizzled with truffle oil. The pizza is just on the edge of needing a fork and knife as a true Neapolitan style pizza, but I'm still able to fold it in my preferred style. We also get the brussel sprouts which are also great, but the quality can be a little variable regarding the saucing. Had a weekday dinner reservation for outdoor seating at 6pm but had to wait 20 minutes...checked with the gentleman the reason for the wait and was told waiting on a table to open up (yet 2 were available). In any case, food made up for the delay as each item was delicious: :: BEET SALAD - beets, frisee, arugula, avocado, pistachios, ricotta salata, orange vinaigrette - so simple with lots of textures and flavors that come together nicely. A repeat for me! :: MUSHROOM TOAST - woodsy, creamy on buttered/toasted artisan bread. A meal in itself and so good :: SAUSAGE and HONEY PIZZA - thin crust but floppy that evening so ate with a fork. Came by for dinner the other night and it was a tasty experience. Vesta is located in downtown Redwood City and was featured in the Michelin guide at one point. Parking is available in the city-owned garage behind the restaurant or on nearby streets. Made a reservation and our table was ready upon arrival. Dining is available on the outdoor pedestrian street, inside the dining room, or on the back covered patio. The restaurant is hip. Service throughout the evening was fantastic, starting off with a beverage service before moving on to verbal specials for the evening. Started off with the kale salad and it was tasty. Topped with some cheese and a light vinaigrette. The meatballs were great. Gigantic and topped off with some tomato sauce. The mushroom toast may have been my favorite of the evening with buttery bread topped with creamy mushrooms. Excellent! The olive and cheese pasta was quite tasty too! My college friends and I were debating between here and BBQ in Redwood City. I am so glad we made the choice to come here on a toasty August evening. We didn't have a reservation and after checking in were told the wait would be about 20 or so minutes for a table (they originally offered one outside but the sun was directly beating down on it). We went for a quick stroll and got a phone call that our table was ready. Our waitress was very friendly and complimented me on my shirt that night. I also heard her having pleasant banter with the other tables nearby. I had looked at the menu and knew I wanted to try the spicy vegan pesto pizza. We were asked if we wanted to add cheese since it comes without, but we opted for no additional cheese since we also ordered a beet salad and a sausage & honey pizza (that did have cheese) for the 3 of us. Two of us enjoyed a beer while waiting for the food to arrive. Beet salad was refreshing. I loved the spicy vegan pesto pizza and felt like we were not missing anything without the cheese. As for the sausage & honey pizza the flavors were good but it felt a little too saucy and wet for my taste. Since we were in a little bit of a time crunch (we usually go for dessert/drinks after) we decided to just order dessert there. I did not particularly love the bread pudding as the outside edges were too hard for me. The inside was pretty good but it took some work to get there. I did love their vegan ice cream offering. The ambience is cute and the pizza oven is in the open. So you get a good view. They had a bunch of specials running as well. We got a ricotta toast with a pear drizzle. The ricotta was really fresh. Absolutely love going to vesta. Perfect place for a glass of wine and appetizer. We had the zucchini cakes. They were absolutely delicious! The yogurt sauce was perfectly lemony. Also, loved our waiter Ashley. She was attentive and let us take our time even on a busy Friday night. read more

It was packed so we got seated in the back patio which was nice. Our server Isai Josue was awesome. We ordered everything based on his recommendation and it was delicious. Charred Cauliflower - perfectly charred, dressed in a sweet, savory and mild spicy sauce. Cauliflower was on the soft side but yummy. Arugula salad - very nice and refreshing, perfect. Sausage and Honey pizza - it only comes in one size, which is 14 inches. Pizza crust was soft, thin and light, almost like a naan. All the toppings came together really well, just perfect. Highly recommended. Basque cheesecake- very fluffy and good. Not overly sweet, just perfect. Came here on a Friday night at 7 and we were told it would be 20-25 mins for a party of 4 but we only ended up waiting about 10 mins so that was great. They have a nice wood fired oven when you walk in so you're hit with an amazing smell. We were seated in the back room. We ended up ordering 2 pizzas and the mushroom toast and all of them were amazing. Loved the dough and crust, nice chew but not too chewy and the toast was amazing. I'd love to try and replicate it if I can but I'm guessing they make their own bread there for the toast. Service was great as well. Our server came to check on us multiple times during dinner and refilled the water a few times. Only downside is they only have 1 bathroom so you may need to wait a while if you're not lucky and it's between the front and the back so it gets a bit cramped. We will definitely be coming back again though. This has become our new favorite pizza in the peninsula. read more

I have never previously written a Yelp review but had such a disappointing experience at Vesta that I felt compelled to say something. My husband and I visited Vesta on a date recently and ordered the Soppressata pizza and a few sides to share. The pizza, which we were anticipating most, was extremely soggy, to the point where picking it up was impossible, since the cheese and toppings would constantly slide off. The bottom of the slices were wet and extremely unpleasant to eat. Not sure if this was just an especially bad batch/off day, but we will most likely not be returning due to the poor quality of the food. read more

2 stars for the food, the service & ambiance earned a solid 4 stars Food: we ordered two pizzas, the carbonara and their special,sausage, broccolini & maple syrup, the balsamic pears with burrata and brown sugar lemonade,these items were just ok, nothing stood out in flavor, a bit bland. I was hoping it would be worth the 45 minute wait ,but sadly it wasn't. One pizza was served cold, the white sauce was tasteless and not good, the carbonara pizza was served hot and it made the difference, but there was not much more that was tasty!. The server did offer to remake the cold pizza, but we didn't want to waste their time, the flavor was just not there and we weren't going to bring it home anyway. My girlfriend and I wanted to check out a good spot for a quick snack/girl lunch and she said this place had really good pizza. I was sad to see they did not offer any gluten-free crust, but they did have other options within certain dishes, they could make gluten-free. We decided to settle on one of their specials, an heirloom tomato dish with mozzarella in a balsamic vinegar, reduction, and brussels sprouts, without the bacon. We asked the server what red wine she would recommend and she was sweet enough to give us two samples, one of the Chianti and another of the Pinot noir. Both were fully bodied and had completely different flavors! We settled on the Chianti and got two glasses and it paired perfectly well with our Girl lunch!! I was rather surprised with their seating arrangement since we walked into the patio and then they had this beautiful dining area as well as a back area to sit in and another outside area behind that! We heard about Vesta when V of BTS said it was the "best pizza" at their concert at Stanford. We tried it the following weekend and it did not disappoint! It is probably the best thin crust pizza that I have had. We had the Sausage and Honey and the Beef (tastes like a cheeseburger) pizza - both were great! Highly recommend Vesta! read more
