I have come to Nola's for years but it was my first time at the Wine room. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What a cute and unassuming place. It feels like such a cozy place to have a glass of wine, some cheese and chit chat with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Very friendly staff - they were focused on getting us wine, had to ask for water refills. What I loved best, the got us a decanter for our wine - loved it! Hope to come back again soon!

First time visiting this wine room and I really enjoyed it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is very comfortable, perfect for wine tasting and just chilling with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All the wines are reasonably priced, and the waiter was very helpful with great suggestions. Definitely planning to revisit!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a cozy intimate spot![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came here after work with a group of 6. Although we had no reservation, we were quickly sat in the sofa area near the fireplace. Our server was great and kept checking in on us as we finished our food and drinks. Our favorite wine was the risling. It had a great flavor profile, it wasn't too dry, nor too sweet and was quite refreshing. For food we got the spicy italian panino, a burrata dish and a prosciutto dish. We ended up loving all the dishes, but my favorite by far was the panino. We ended up placing two additional orders of the panino. Overall great spot near california avenue, will definitely be back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I always come for the ambience, and stay for the wine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This wine bar is a true gem! Warm, welcoming vibes, a great wine selection, and delicious tapas perfect for sharing amongst a few.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is friendly and attentive, making every visit enjoyable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will say it does get pretty busy here during peak times so be aware![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Plus, the easy parking is a huge bonus (garages, lots, street parking). A must-visit for wine lovers locally.

We had light nibbles - Spanish Pampeo with cheese, peppers, olives, jamon, and wines by the glass (a pinot, light bordeaux, and napa cab). Everything was good and the staff were friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was candle-lit warm and filled with locals and passersby that wanted a good time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Very cute little wine bar with mostly California wines, but a few international (French, Italian, Argentinian) as well. I get the sense that they rotate their available wines so that may change. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable and allowed us to taste a couple before committing to a glass to ensure we would enjoy it. One thing to note is they don't allow outside food (we had ice cream that we had to finish before coming inside). [[HIGHLIGHT]]My favorite part about this place is the ambiance. It feels like someone's living room. Very inviting and cozy. A great place for a date.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have a couple small TVs in case you'd like to watch the game.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little spot for wine - I love sitting at the tables outside on the sidewalk as it can get pretty loud inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is lovely and they have a nice selection of mostly Californian wines but also some European blends.

I met a friend for a drink at the Wine Room before dinner, and it was a bit disappointing. Ambiance is cozy chic, but there was an unpleasant musty odor. The service was a little slow, and it took 20+ minutes for them to serve the Mediterranean Toasts. The only food we had were the Mediterranean Toasts, and they were fresh and flavorful. The issue was that the toast was too crunchy/hard that it was difficult to eat with a fork and/or knife. Given the average service for premium pricing, we probably won't be back.

Came here to meet up a friend of mine to catch up on a Sunday evening. It is nicely tucked away but with plenty of parking around. Felt safe walking around at night. It is a small establishment with cozy environment and sort of help yourself type of arrangement. We picked a corner place and waited for service and didn't happen. We walked to the bar but caught someone serving food. He was super helpful and picked a nice bottle for us and helped us order some appetizers. The French Chardonnay was super yummy. Crisp and refreshing. Strong apple notes. It went well with the cheese platter we got. It is a very small place and completely understaffed. So do take that into consideration. Once you have their attention, they are very helpful and nice. It was a great cozy spot to hang out with friends. Would like to come back again.

The setting is charming and relaxed, and the live music creates a calm, enjoyable atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind and focus on the company you're with. Like many other reviews, staff are slow and not particularly attentive or warm. The wine list was fair and the bottle we enjoyed was pleasant. This feels like the kind of place you go for the atmosphere only. Where you go to sit outside, enjoy live music, and spend one-on-one time with someone you care about. The cheese plate was also excellent with a red wine; there's nothing better than a sip of wine right after a bite of cheese. Their Gewürztraminer white wine also really stood out to me. It seems pointless and deceptive to add a mandatory "20% service charge", just add $15 to the cost and be done with it... After tax and the mandatory tip, it comes out to a little under $100 per person. You're seated in the hotel lobby, which is a little odd and uncomfortable. A lot of the lobby chairs aren't really meant for sitting at a table, so you have to prop yourself up in an uncomfortable position for most of the meal. While the presentation of the food was nice, I found the menu to be heavily unbalanced toward the sweet items. There were far more desserts and pastries than there were savory bites to balance them out. By the end of the tea, I felt completely sugared out and heavy. The pastries were all very well-made, but after a while, the lack of savory options made the experience a bit overwhelming. For the price, I was hoping for a better ratio of sweet to savory to make the meal more enjoyable from start to finish. You also only get 2 teas, which I found I had to ration throughout the meal so I could balance out the sugary pastries with something. It was a cute experience, but if you don't have a massive sweet tooth it's not worth it. If you have to go, I would box up the sweets and take them to go because it's uncomfortable to try and finish it all in one sitting.

Our bartender was great and even went off menu for some of our drinks. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Once we were seated we got some appetizers to get us started. We ordered chickpea panisse, French onion soup, goat cheese mousse, and the apple salad. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the chickpea panisse. It looked like fried tofu, but it was so delicately soft in the center. The aioli that came with it was great too. My second favorite was the goat cheese mousse. It was beautifully presented and a good balance of flavors. For main dishes, we got a variety of things. We got salmon, hanger steak, flat iron steak, and poulet roti. Everything was delicious. I think the flat iron steak was preferred over the hanger, but both were good. I thought the chicken was delicious. It seemed braised with a lot of flavor. It was a generous portion with a large salad. It was very well done. We also got a couple of sides of macaroni and cheese. Those didn't disappoint. They came in hot iron skillets and were hearty and delicious. For dessert we got the mousse au chocolat. The mousse with ice cream was a great combination. The dessert was well balanced. The staff were warm and nice and I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. I ordered a coke to drink and my partner had a French beer. We proceeded to order the charcuterie and french onion soup for appetizers and the duck breast and french burger for entrees. The soup came and it was fine- it tasted like french onion soup. The charcuterie never came; I guess they forgot to put the order in or forgot to make it. It was awkward just sitting there starving while my husband ate his soup though. We figured maybe they were bringing it after he finished the soup so there'd be room on the table but nope. The burger looked nice and was cooked to the ordered temp of medium rare. Otherwise it was like any other burger anywhere else, not overly special. The fries were crisp and well salted. The duck was underwhelming. It's $38 for this plate of food and it came with totally flavorless and dry mashed potatoes, whose texture was akin to boxed potatoes. No butter or cream flavor to speak of. The vegetables were so disappointing. They had no seasoning whatsoever and were as soft as baby food- I am not exaggerating on that. I was surprised by how mushy the carrots were. For almost $40 I expect more exciting veg than broccoli, cauliflower and carrots all steamed to death. The duck was okay. There was a large tendon running through the middle of every piece and I could only eat half of it due to gristly fat. The port wine reduction that covered it totally masked the flavor of the duck. All I tasted was soy sauce. We let them know about the missing charcuterie to make sure it was not included on the bill. Other small things that detracted from the experience included them never clearing any dishes from the table (like the basket from the complimentary bread, appetizer plates or the huge wine glasses that neither of us needed) and not checking in on us to see how everything was going. The table was so cluttered it was hard to eat. It took a really long time to get the check and was so uncomfortable just sitting there obviously done with our food. For the prices charged I expected a higher level of service that was blatantly absent. Overall will not return. Over priced, slow, bland food.
