First meeting of Haboob and Drew
Shannon L.

This review is for a physical exam, not an in-home euthanasia. Maybe that's where all the 5 starts came from? Maybe I caught the vet at a bad time. But my experience definitely could have been better. Pluses: -She answered the phone when I called and made it easy to schedule a home visit -Dr. Bufkin came to my house the next day! (for an extra $65 fee) and did show up -She and her assistant were mostly good at communicating, especially via text, which I appreciated -She did identify a heart murmur my vet had heard, so at least I got what I needed from the appointment -Dr. Bufkin did send the invoice and treatment notes and when they were very wrong, she did work hard to correct the problem and apologized Minuses: -Dr. Bufkin was unable to make it during a scheduled 8-11:30 am window of time or let me know when she might be arriving -When I texted for an update, she called me about 10 minutes later and proceeded to tell me that we had to discuss things first on the phone because she had a piano lesson at 12:30 so she didn't have much time once she got to my house - Because she was rushed, my cat was ready to play. He doesn't wriggle at the vet's office, but was super wriggly with Dr. Bufkin and she had to scruff him to listen to his heart. He is a really sweet friendly cat and that is usually never necessary. I know it didn't hurt him but it sure wasn't the relaxing in-home visit I expected/paid for -Did I menton super rushed? Luckily I didn't need a lot of time - really just needed a heart murmur confirmed - but man that's a lot of money for a tiny amount of time ($85 house call fee, $60 exam and I paid $65 for the next day appointment...or would have had to wait a month wondering). -I also paid a $6 fee to use a credit card for a $210 bill - a 3% transaction fee. OK...but are there other payment methods I could have used to avoid this? Could you have mentioned it in advance? And really...that's not built into the house call fee? Maybe this is normal but it just hit wrong. No time to ask questions because: rushed. -When she sent the medical records for me to submit to insurance, I opened the document to see a letter saying I'd had her come to the house for my cat to be euthanized (and asking for referrals!). This was really shocking and upsetting to read - obviously I knew my cat was ok but it just...felt horrible. Dr. Bufkin did work to figure out why this error occurred but that involved 1. another letter saying my cat was euthanized 2. ten (10) texts, multiple emails and a voicemail (I was in a meeting) to figure out. -The treatment notes had several pieces of inaccurate information about my cat and some weird discrepancies, like weights for him on two different days when she only came on one day (and did not weigh him so...). Fingers crossed my pet insurance doesn't care and reimburses me for at least part of this. At least they won't think he is euthanized now. There aren't a lot of mobile vet options and some never even got back to me. I know vets are insanely busy right now and Dr. Bufkin seemed nice and competent or I would have only given two stars. And thank goodness she eventually sent the right treatment notes. A discount would have been nice. Picture of my cat cozying up to my sister...Seriously, my cat sitter said he is the most friendly cat she's ever met. He is not stingy with the love. Maybe my expectations were just too high.

Dr. Sarah Wilson is the absolute best. She looked over our beloved Hurley in his senior years and helped him cross the bridge. She was so supportive, gentle and kind during the hardest 2 weeks of our life. She handled everything and even gave us hugs. On the day of Hurley's passing she even brought him McDonald's french fries as his last meal. We were so impressed and felt so taken care of. I cannot recommend Dr. Wilson enough. If you are looking for compassionate, personal and loving care, this is where you need to go. Thank you so much Dr. Wilson for taking care of us. We truly appreciate you and will never forget your kindness. You made the most horrible weeks of our lives bearable and you will forever be in our hearts.

There are not words for how wonderful Vet to Pet is. I have used them three times. Once in 2008 for Reba, again in 2010 for Jesse, and the latest, yesterday when my sweet Bailey needed help crossing The Rainbow Bridge. I love that they come to you and help you handle the arrangements. Most of us know the heartache that comes with having to make the choice to euthanize a fur baby. The love and compassion shown my Dr. Bufkin and Dr. Wilson is amazing. When your world is crumbling, they step in to help ease the suffering of a family member. They are warm, friendly, and understanding. I could never do their job, but I bless them for being strong enough to help when you need them. I would love to say I hope I never use them again, but that is just foolish. Our pets can't live forever, THANK YOU!

I got in touch with this service a few days ago. Unfortunately I needed end of life care, and my sweet boy does not travel well. He was shy, and became very stressed in cars. I was so anxious thinking about how stressful it would be for him because his vet is all the way across down. He would be so scared in the office too. At home euthanasia would be the best option, and the most calming for him. I was treated so kindly by the staff and Dr. Renée. Although they were too busy the first day I was provided with an early morning slot the next day. He was struggling pretty bad at this point, so I made him as comfortable and happy as possible in the mean time. I was given much sympathy, and updates on her arrival to my home. She explained everything to me, was very patient and understanding of my situation. If you are going through the process of end of life, I highly recommend this service. It's heart breaking to lose a friend, and such a painful process. The ability to just be in the comfort of your home and give them that calming familiar environment is so worth it. I am so grateful for this service and their sympathy.

Having to bring him to BluePearl Animal Hospital was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, but I can't thank the team enough for the compassion and kindness they showed me. I was so overwhelmed with grief that I couldn't even get him out of my car. Without hesitation, a staff member came outside, gently took him from my vehicle, and handled him with so much dignity and care. That simple act of kindness meant more to me than words can express. The entire process was made as easy as possible during such a heartbreaking time. I chose a private cremation, and when I received his ashes, they included a beautiful paw print, a certificate of cremation and his ashes in a wooden urn. I also received a sympathy card in the mail from the staff. It may seem like a small gesture, but it reminded me that they truly cared not just about my dog, but about me as well. Losing my baby was one of the most painful experiences of my life, but BluePearl treated us both with so much compassion, respect, and love. Thank you for making such a difficult day just a little easier. Your kindness is something I will never forget, and I will always be grateful for the care you gave my sweet boy and the comfort you gave me.

This…read morehusband‑and‑wife team, Dr. Sharon Dose and Dr. Tom Dose, is truly exceptional: pragmatic, efficient, well‑organized, honest, and incredibly thorough. After visiting many veterinarians over the years, this is hands‑down one of the best places I will ever take my small dog. Our Bichon Frise, Aspen, came to us almost a year ago from a horrific puppy mill, and today was his very first anesthesia dental cleaning. I'm a huge fan of Dr. Karen Shaw Becker and her book The Forever Dog, and after reading her sobering statistic--"By age 3, 80% of dogs have periodontal disease, most of it below the gumline where bone loss, abscesses, and tumors go undetected"--I knew I had to get his teeth taken care of right away. From the very first visit, I was impressed. Parking is easy, the location is simple to find, and Dr. Sharon Dose personally handles everything from answering phones and booking appointments to performing thorough exams. She provided clear estimates without me having to ask (unlike many other vets in town), and she even took the time to show me exactly how to brush Aspen's teeth properly at home. No other vet has ever done that. The day of the procedure (early Sunday morning), their thoughtfulness truly shone. We received clear pre‑op instructions, a straightforward bill breakdown, detailed emails before pickup, a phone call with updates, and even a look at the decaying tooth they removed. Everything was handled with skill, excellent time management, professionalism, and genuine care. Their passion for keeping pets' teeth healthy is obvious. We're deeply grateful for the tooth extraction and the thorough cleaning. Aspen's teeth are now sparkly white, his breath smells so much better, and--most importantly--we know he was in the best hands possible. Their honesty, knowledge, and non‑predatory pricing make them absolute gems in the Reno/Tahoe community. I truly wish more people operated with their level of integrity and heart. If you have a small dog, do yourself a favor and go see them. You won't find a more hardworking, caring, or trustworthy team. Highly recommend for your fur babies!

The original Vet Dr. Hatch used to occupy and own this property before he retired. Anyway since our last Vet retired from seeing patients to work solely in emergency care we needed to find someone new. I give a 2 star rating since the gal at the front desk and the assistant were both lovely girls and know how to treat customers. Sawyers ears were very dirty so the doctor wanted to take a look but alas the other doctor was gone and took the tool with her and asked if I would consider leaving my dog there for 2 hours to waits for the other doctor to reappear. Ummm that would be a hard No. I was surprised that they even asked me that. I don't know any of you! Seriously?!? The reason for todays visit was my dog had a red rash in his nether regions and I was beginning to worry since I first noticed it 2 days ago. My appointment was at 2:30 and that is when I arrived. Like I mentioned the first assistant asked a bunch of questions about Sawyer most of which would have been on the sheet I brought with me all about his last treatment, shots, ect. She mentioned she might want to do $250.00 worth of blood work, um that's a hard no. The initial visit was $75 and then another $50 for I don't know why... We had an appointment today for our sick puppy. Who's been sick now about 15 days. We were greeted by Trinity the doctors, assistant, amazing and caring, compassionate. Then the doctor came in they worked with dodger took her temperature. Did some other test. Dr. Murray was so thorough so caring and compassionate as well. She gave us some options. For a long time I truly loved this clinic. The staff used to feel very welcoming, attentive, and personal, and you genuinely felt cared for when you walked in. I'm really sad to write this review because I normally don't leave negative reviews, but after giving the clinic several chances I felt it was important to share my experience. The clinic seems much busier now, and while I understand that is a sign of a successful business and I support that, it has started to feel like they may be taking on more than they can handle, and that change is noticeable in the overall clinic experience. Most recently I called because my dog's paw was swollen. Since there were no appointments available, I was told I could drop her off in the morning and they would try to fit her in. I waited about 2.5 hours for a call back and received very little guidance beyond confirming that her paw was swollen. The conversation quickly shifted to recommending x rays on both paws along with other items like vaccines and tests that didn't seem directly related to the reason I brought her in. I also asked about switching her dog food due to past urinary issues and never received clear guidance on that. It left me feeling like the focus was more on adding charges rather than helping me understand what was best for my dog, and this has been my experience the past 3-4 visits. This clinic used to be a place I trusted deeply, which is why this is so disappointing. I'm only sharing this in hopes that the team might bring back some of the personal care and attention that once made this place feel so special.
