She was taken to a hospital herself and I offered to take her bunny to the vet as she was worried the bunny may be hurt. Dr. Hugh to the rescue again! Turns out the bunny was just fine! Our biggest concerns were pricing, communication, and transparency. Routine care became significantly more expensive with little explanation beforehand about what services were recommended, optional, or necessary. We paid over $225 for bloodwork and never received the results or a follow-up regarding them. We also had an issue with a booster appointment. Before the visit, I specifically asked whether there would be an additional charge and was told there would not be because the vaccine series had already been paid for. We were nevertheless charged $57 for the visit, despite there being no examination or consultation with a veterinarian. This was later refunded and we were told it was a error after we followed up on this a second time. We pushed back at the clinic but were told we were incorrect at the time of payment. In total, we spent more than $600 on what we understood to be a routine wellness visit and standard vaccinations. After we shared our concerns, the clinic chose to end our relationship as clients, effective immediately. This was not something we requested and left us needing to find a new veterinarian while making sure our dog's medication and ongoing care were not interrupted. We had hoped our concerns would lead to better communication. Instead, we were left disappointed by both the original experience and the way our concerns were ultimately handled. Absolute waste of $250…read more I brought my puppy to BluePearl because he had a cut on his ear that was bleeding, and I was concerned about getting the bleeding under control and preventing infection. I was charged approximately $180 for an assessment and another $70 for a cone, but nothing was actually done to clean, dress, or treat the wound. I was simply told to follow up with my regular veterinarian. I took him to his vet the very next morning, and they cleaned and dressed the wound to help prevent infection--without sedation. What upset me even more was being told at BluePearl that my puppy could potentially lose his ear, which caused me even more fear and anxiety, yet no treatment was provided beyond putting a cone on him. I completely understand that emergency veterinary care can be expensive, and I was prepared to pay for my puppy to receive care. What I did not expect was to spend $250 just to have someone look at his ear, give him a cone, scare me with the possibility of him losing his ear, and then send us home without treating the wound. Never again. I left feeling like I paid $250 for an assessment and a cone instead of actual care for the problem that brought us there.

The interaction started off well as originally my appointment was 5 weeks out. I was on a cancellation list. They called 2 separate times to move my appointment up which I was thrilled. I then received the new client paperwork via email. I noticed it said ..... Our lobby is currently closed in the Orange Park location to provide a safe & stress-free environment for our furry friends. When in reality they share a building with a dermatologist and they don't allow dogs in the building except in the back and exam room from what I was told. I can't say my response was the best as I did say....... Well that's Bullshit. You bring your dog to an eye specialist, you are supposed to keep your dog out of the bright light and we wait in our car or sit on a bench outside? I was taken back with the office answer that you have to just that. I said well it doesn't matter my dog needs to be seen so I'll be there. Well this is the kicker, I get an email stating.... We are writing this letter in regards to your relationship with our veterinary practice. We made accommodations for Cassie and prioritized her when we had a cancellation for Thursday understanding the urgency in her being seen. After your call back stating your disapproving views on our lobby policy, we have decided that you may find better accommodations at another facility. One of the most important criteria for the delivery of veterinary medical care from veterinarians and staff members at this facility is a polite, effective, comfortable, and open avenue for communication. Yet another emergency comes up with my second doggie (can't hold fluids, food and bloody stool) and needed some help. Been coming there for a while but my wife and I decided to not come here anymore mostly because of customer service and availability. According to front desk staff they were triple booked (I think she meant overbooked) and that we had to wait hours to be taken care of. Long story short, took my doggie to the ER room down the road (First Coast Veterinary) they're incredible - I wish they were more than just an ER room. Black and white difference. The funny thing is that they recognized us, we keep going there because at Cole's there's rarely availability for either walk ins or emergencies. Front desk staff is so inconsistent with customer service. There's been times where I have walked in and they don't even say hello, just not welcoming. Just make sure you show up when they're in a good mood. Dr. Cole - awesome, he's patient, caring and knowledgeable. five stars for him. Customers service - inconsistent, could potentially be perceived as rude, not welcoming, unprofessional. one star for front desk staff. Our first vet, Doctor Chick, moved out of state about a year ago to start his own practice. We were so sad, as Milia was slipping. Doctor Bennett took over care of Milia, and we could not have been more pleased. He continued Doctor Chick's path until it was time. He could have done all sorts of orders for $$$, but he didn't, unfortunately his only time to meet Milia was the day we said goodbye. Not too long after we lost Milia, Jack wondered into my wife's work. No collar, no chip, and we searched, posted, to find his owner. We think he was abandoned. What did we do? Off to SJAH Jack goes for exam. After we couldn't find jack's owner, we adopted him, or was it the other way around. Unfortunately about six months later Jack tested positive for heart-worms. Doctor Bennett advised first slow treatment to see if we could avoid the killer treatment. No luck. We are currently on shot two, tomorrow shot three. Why 4 not 5 stars. Their not 24hr emergency care. Being a retired police/fireman, I've got to leave the 5 star to the emergency 24hr hospital.
