I'd just like to say that this clinic is truly amazing. I moved here from NWFL in May so no established vet yet due to not needing annuals until next year. Was running out of options w/ my work schedule & my coworker recommended VEC Oakland. Annette took my call early in the day while I was still at work & very quickly got my cat & I into an exam room once I was able to get there later in the afternoon. Dr. Lieberman & Rayna both took great care of my Luna after it turns out she fractured her fibula. Both were very nice & took the time to answer my questions as well as explain everything that was occurring from exams to costs. Rayna especially showed a lot of love to my often timid cat while getting her assessed/treated & I really appreciated that. CareCredit is offered here & a big help if you need emergency services. Ian & Kyrra made checking out easy w/ CareCredit & put all my paperwork in a folder. That may seem small to some, but everything this clinic did made this stressful situation easier for me & my Luna. Definitely will go back should my babies ever need emergency care again. Thank you all so much!

When our kitty fell ill on Thanksgiving we had nowhere to go since our normal vet was closed. We decided to go to the emergency clinic. We were seen rather quickly and I felt like we were both treated with patience and kindness. I was rather stressed when it came to discussing a surgery plan and money, but they were patient and calm and gave me time and support. The surgery happened in the middle of the night and I appreciated the immediate updates as they happened. I called an additional handful of times as she was out of surgery to see how she was progressing and the staff never made me feel like a bother and even suggested calling when I needed, or visiting if I wanted. This night put me through it but I felt like my baby and myself were in the best hands. I am so thankful for everyone who helped take care of my Maisie (even if she was grumpy). I can't recommend them enough.

Although I was here for several hours 12:30-6am, my cat was cared for and gently handled the whole time. They were relatively quick with the tests they ran, and everyone was knowledgable and extremely kind. They do xrays on site and are able to triage several pets at one time. There are at least 3 doctors I saw, and so many vet techs who seem to love what they do. I really appreciate all that was done for my cat. I attached my bill as well to my review. Although kind of expensive, it is worth it to have my cat be alive and well. They did give me a discount, again, they were very kind. Base visit is $180 and anything additional will be added in a quote they will show you before more care is applied to your pet. They see cats and dogs, as well as other animals and exotic animals such as birds/rabbits/bearded dragons/etc. I would definitely come back here if my cats were in distress.

I had originally brought my boy to a different emergency vet and they did everything wrong, but I didn't know it until my pup was getting worse (much worse) within a couple days. I brought him to Dr. Hassan and he very quickly made a turn for the better. And when that same dog had a stroke a year ago, Doc did everything right. Dr. Hassan gave me 2.5 more active, healthy years with my pup than I otherwise would have had. How do I quantify what that means to me? I can't. The entire staff is incredible. They truly do care. My dog died in July. He was up at my parents' house in Georgia for a visit (their dog and mine were besties). He was fine when I left, but a few days later he was not at all fine. I called Dr. Hassan and even though I couldn't bring Floyd () in since he was out of state, after telling them what was going on with him, Dr. prescribed meds for him as a last-ditch effort. They filled them on site, I picked them up, and made a mad dash to get to him. It was too late by the time I got to him because I couldn't get the meds in him and he died just a few hours later (so the meds would not have helped at that point anyway), but just the fact that they gave me the opportunity to try means the world to me.

I took him to the VEC ER on 466A in Fruitland Park, his temp was 107.8. I didn't realize how dangerous that high a temp can be, it is deadly..... does brain and organ damage. I was not told he really had very little chance of surviving. I was frantic and threw my credit card down for 3,000.00 to 6,000.00. They were able to get his temp down, and he stayed overnight. They called on Friday morning and said come get him, adding $400.00 to the $3,000.00 I had already paid. I brought him home, he didn't know who I was, and wouldn't eat anything and when he drank water, he had explosive diarrhea. Not only was his brain damaged but his organs were too. He just wanted to go hide under a large bush in the yard, and die. My vet came Saturday morning. Told me if a client comes to him with a dog with that temperature he recommends putting them down. They are basically toast. No one knows why his temp was so high, he was fine the night before, ate dinner, acted normal. Took his pills at 9:00pm. VEC diagnosed heat stroke, but he was in an air conditioned house, so clearly that wasn't it. He was an old dog, not sure how old, with health problems. I knew that when I adopted him a little over 3 years ago, but in spite of his problems, he was a happy, seemingly healthy boy. His blood work was always excellent. I am beyond devastated, and annoyed that the ER didn't tell me that he had almost zero chance of recovery, so he ended up suffering for two days while I thought he would get better. Now, I have a $3400.00 Visa bill, and a broken heart. I wrote them, to see if they would give me some grace on that exorbitant bill, but they didn't bother to respond. Beware.

I called our regular veterinary office, but they were closed. However, their voicemail suggested we contact Veterinary Emergency Clinic. We called and explained what happened and that we wanted to have her cremated. They were very understanding and told us to bring her to them. When we got there, they directed my husband to take the car around the side of the building where they would meet him with a stretcher. In the meantime, I stayed up front with the receptionist. She took me into a room which was clearly for people mourning the loss of their pets. She was very comforting to talk with. My husband arrived in the room and we waited for Casey to be brought in. A gentleman brought her to us. He had wrapped her in a nice blanket and told us to take all the time we needed with Casey. Both my husband and I were beside ourselves with grief. We loved on our baby and let her know how missed she will be. My husband went outside the room and met with the gentleman. Together, they made the final plans for Casey while I had a little more time with her. He was so kind, I really appreciated him and all the staff there. My husband, with his help, picked out a very nice urn for Casey, and the price was really reasonable. On Thursday, I received the call that her remains were ready. I arrived and was greeted by a different lady than last time. When she brought Casey's remains to me, I got a bit teary eyed and she offered me some words of comfort. They did everything so compassionately and professionally, I was very pleased with them. They made a very difficult decision go a little easier and for that, I am grateful.

I was especially excited to learn that they offer dog-wash stations with dryers, so I decided to give them a try. There are two wash stations, but unfortunately the floor was extremely dirty and very wet almost flooded. I understand that water can get on the floor, especially on busy days, but it really should be cleaned more frequently. I'm not sure what the cleaning rules are for the wash area, but it definitely needed attention during my visit. Despite that, I still went ahead and washed my dog, and it honestly made my life so much easier. I live in an apartment and bathing him at home takes forever, especially the drying. So this service is a huge help. I'll definitely come back and give it another try, it may have just been a busy day since I went on a Saturday. The price for the wash station is $9.99, which is very reasonable. They even provide shampoo and conditioner, although I brought my own because my dog needs a special shampoo for his coat. The cashier was also kind enough to give him a treat afterwards, which I appreciated. My dog left happy, and so did I.
