We took our cat there due to Jaundice, as we had noticed yellowing in his ears. The lady doctor who was there reassured us that she has to run all the diagnostic testing in order to pin-point the reason for the jaundice. $1,900 and 2 hours later, she came back empty-handed, and her recommendation was that we left the cat there for three days in order for them to provide the care that he needed and to take more tests in order for her to find the reason he has jaundice, something for which she failed to do so during the first round of diagnostics. She was very adamant about..." we have to find the reason why.." she kept repeating over and over. You would think, with $1,900 worth of tests that she would be able to find the reason why. Regrettably, we decided to leave him there for a day, just to be on the safe side, which cost us another $3,200. We came the following day, picked him up, went home, only for his condition to be worsen. One day, I called a friend of mine, and during our discussion he mentioned to me, that one of his best friends was a vet up in Port St. Lucie. My best friend got his friend on the phone, and after the Vet speaking with me, I realized that these people at the VEG Hospital in Miami not only are incompetent and did nothing more than racking up the bill, but also it turns out that they failed to even give us the most important medication for his condition, which would support his liver (jaundice affects primarily the liver). My friend's veterinarian asked me if the VEG Hospital gave me that medication to support his liver, and I told him no, they never gave us that medication. I explained to him that they racked up the bill and that the doctor was very aggressive with her sales approach and technique. And we ended up paying a total of $5,000, which included the diagnostic treatment for which by the way they came back empty-handed, and also a day of a stay which provided no benefit to our cat. Here we are, a week after and we are calling them to give us a medication that they should have given us from the get-go. Now we are in the second week and we're calling them to refill his liver support medication, for which now they're refusing to do so. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this hospital as they are incompetent, and the only thing they know is how to rack up the bill. Find a vet that will care for your pet instead of caring for their bank account. $5,000 after, you would expect that they would know what's the reason for the jaundice. Not in this hospital, apparently. And this is a note for the VEG management: please don't even bother to respond with your generic crappy response how you care about customer service and how you would like us to reach out back to you, so you can address the concern. Spare yourself from the embarrassment.

Obviously it's never a good feeling having to bring your pet to the ER, but Veterinary Emergency Group made the entire experience so much easier. From the moment I called to the moment I left, the customer service was truly top tier. What I appreciated the most was how much they prioritized my pup's comfort. They let me keep him right by my side the entire time while they cared for him, which meant everything to me. You can tell they really understand how stressful these situations can be. It was on the expensive side, but that's expected with any emergency visit. DR Alvarez was amazing, patient, and very gentle with my pup. I honestly have no complaints. Thank you!

I had such a great experience here. The veterinarian was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive with my ferret. You can tell he truly cares about animals and takes the time to make both pets and owners feel comfortable. I really appreciated how gentle and understanding he was during the visit. Highly recommend!

Friendly and competent staff that does a great job supporting pet parents during some of the most difficult times. Everyone always has a positive and empathetic attitude. You can often get a private room with your pet for an overnight, which is a great option. The have snacks and beverages in case you're there for some time. That being said, I think some of the facilities could be a bit more cleaned. For example, we noticed dried blood stains right under our feet and they were not from our animal. Otherwise, a great team.

This last Friday I had to rush my cat to emergency because of gagging and kind of erratic behavior. This was my first time going to emergency and didn't know where to go. After a quick search on Yelp and Google and reading some of the reviews, I decided to go to Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Edgewater. It's within a mile from my place so it was good that I didn't have to go across town this late during the night. Upon arrival, I was greeted and they started examining the cat. There was zero wait for me on a Friday night at 2 am, yes zero wait. The place is pretty clean, modern, with a lot of equipments onsite. The personnel was pretty knowledgeable, friendly and took the time to explain what it could be, what they were proposing, the financials, everything. I can't be happier with the professional service I received. Around 4 am, I was heading out with a treatment, x-rays and full examination done, etc. A few days later, they even called me to follow up and see how he was doing. This was a surprise for me, not even doctor offices call you to see how you are doing. I really give them kudos for that. Thanks VEG for making this less stressful than what it could have been.

Thank you so much to everyone on the team for helping my dog and for being incredibly supportive and attentive to us as owners during such a difficult and emotional time. I came in late Sunday night with my 13-year-old dog who was in a lot of distress and not doing well. It was terrifying, but from the moment we arrived, the team took immediate action. Dr. Mish didn't hesitate for a second to begin helping him, and both she and Dr. Gonzalez were compassionate, supportive, and incredibly thorough. Thanks to their care, they were able to diagnose and stabilize him enough to get him healthy and ready to go home. I truly believe their fast and thoughtful response made all the difference. What meant the most to me was being allowed to stay by my dog's side all night and into the next day. They set us up in a private room with a bed so I could be close to him, and they gave me updates throughout the night without me ever having to ask. Most veterinary offices wouldn't even consider that, and it meant everything to me. The nurses on both the night and day shifts were so attentive and caring. They constantly checked on my dog, made sure he was comfortable with warm blankets and a soft bed, and were always ready to answer any questions I had. One nurse in particular, Nicole, stood out for how dedicated she was--always checking on her patients and treating them like her own. This was a truly heartfelt and warming experience during one of the hardest moments I've faced with my dog. I'm beyond grateful we ended up at this emergency vet. The level of care, compassion, and humanity we received is something I will never forget. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

Opens tomorrow March 9. Came for the meet and greet. Very modern facility with up to date technology. Emergency medicine and have physicians who specialize in exotics. Staff very personable. They have an open concept and allow you to stay by your pets side. It's feels like family when you walk in. Super helpful and knowledgeable staff. They also have an Aventura location and plans to open more locations.

My dog somehow got hold of my 5-HTP. Within 15 minutes he went from perfectly normal to critical, so I rushed him to GoodVets, where Dr. Abraham and her entire team worked tirelessly to stabilize him. They then recommended I transfer him to VEG for overnight treatment and observation, and boy am I glad! Upon arrival at VEG, my dog was seen in under one minute - no wasted time filling out forms and being interrogated about finances, like other emergency clinics in Miami. Their entire concern and focus was on getting my baby the treatment he needed. I was allowed to stay with him the entire time, and they even had a bed where he could rest with me like he does at home. No cold cage! That alone did so much to lessen his stress. The entire team was extremely responsive, patiently answering all my questions and addressing my every concern. They made sure both of us were comfortable and had everything we needed. The care we received was exceptional. I could not possibly recommend them more strongly!

My happy cat feeling all better!

I trusted the clinic and followed the prevention plan exactly as instructed. Throughout every visit, I consistently felt pressured into unnecessary tests and procedures for a completely healthy puppy. Multiple times, additional charges and tests were added to the bill without proper explanation until I questioned the total and asked for them to be removed. Today, I came in only for the Bordetella vaccine and to pick up my dog's monthly Simparica Trio. I specifically asked not to be charged for a consultation since my dog has no symptoms, no health concerns, and only needed the vaccine and medication refill. At that point, I was informed that my dog had apparently only been receiving regular Simparica for the last couple of months -- NOT Simparica Trio -- despite the fact that I repeatedly requested and believed I was purchasing Simparica Trio the entire time. This is extremely serious because heartworm prevention requires continuous monthly protection. Nobody informed me there had been a change in medication, and now I am suddenly being told my dog needs a heartworm test before receiving the proper prevention again. I find this lack of communication unacceptable and deeply irresponsible. Pet owners trust veterinary clinics to clearly explain medications and ensure continuity of preventive care. If there was any change in what my dog was receiving, I should have been explicitly informed immediately -- not months later. I am very disappointed with the lack of transparency, the constant pressure for additional procedures, and the poor communication regarding my dog's preventive medication.

The vet, Alexandra Conejos, said this was common and she had extensive experience removing them. After surgery, Louie couldn't urinate. He was lethargic and didn't seem well. After finally doing an xray to make sure everything was ok, she panicked as she told us she couldn't see his bladder and doesn't know what happened but that she would need to perform emergency surgery. Hours later, she called Mario to say there was nothing she could do to fix it and she recommended putting him to sleep. We didn't understand what was happening. We picked him up from Greenleaf, put him in the back of my dads car and rushed him to Miami Veterinary Specialists to see a board-certified surgeon. Dr. Robin Holtsinger was on call that night and after a few hours of operating on him, she was able to save his bladder and his life. She told us that she discovered his prostate gland was not there, his bladder and urethra were severely damaged and detached and his body was bruised and had severe internal trauma as a result of Conejos surgery. They were in shock and so were we. Louie was in stable condition and after two weeks of recovery in the hospital was able to come home, still unable to pee, and had to wear a catheter.
