We were told by a previous vet that she would be okay to not have surgery done since she didn't seem to be in pain and that recovery might be hard since she is older. I was nervous to go through with it because she is 14 years old and only 3lbs. A few months later, I noticed the same thing suddenly happened to her good eye too. Dr.Jagger is the absolute best. i don't mean it lightly when i say she saved my kittens life! the moment i got my kitten no vet could figure out what was wrong with her we spent so much on treatments and medication no one could figure it out. As my kitten grew frail and showed extreme signs of decay i booked an appointment with Dr.Jagger. She was able to get me in ASAP which i feel so thankful for. The moment she saw my kitten she knew what was wrong with her, she had a feeling my cat had FIP based on symptoms. As we tried treatment it turned out to be FIP. thank you VEC for coming to the rescue! my pups had an eye ulcer that was not healing or he just kept re-scratching it either way it needed to be fixed asap. my pups was squinting and tearing and just looked so miserable my normal vets prescribed ointment and drops but, the eye just didnt look like it had much progress i finally bit the bullet and called VEC to make an appt. the next avail appt was about a week away, i booked it for an early AM appt the gal over the phone explained the exam fee ($230) and the costs for the individual tests ($37/each) the dr may want done after making the appt, soon after i received a confirmation email with appt time, forms that needed to be completed, estimated cost for visit, appointment/cancellation/payment policies the day arrived and we showed up about 20m prior to our appt time, we were then shown to our exam room! i needed to refill out my forms bc they never received them when i did it online two techs came into the exam room and starting taking my pups to begin the tests they felt for comfortable with him wearing a mask, so it was fine i was under the impression that i would see the dr and the dr would recommend which tests, but it seemed like all three tests needed to be done, which they quickly did -the stain -the schirmer test -the pressure test so after, dr. chang entered the room with the tech to introduced himself and see the reason for my visit i was really impressed with thankful i was able to find this office, dr. chang was professional and patient with me as i asked tons of questions we were sent home with 2 new meds and a follow up within 7-9 days but the dr is on vacay and doesnt come back til mid june, so mid june it is. i feel more comfortable having the same dr recheck my pups eye so far, my babes eye is looking so much better! our appt took close to an hour parking: private lot read more

Sage, a 12.5-year-old Min Pin, is my closest companion and confidant. I was alarmed when I heard him scream in excruciating pain. Upon rushing upstairs, I discovered that his eye was bleeding horribly. I was overwhelmed with fear and a profound sense of helplessness. Regrettably, Sage's cornea had ruptured, causing him immense pain. My girlfriend and I promptly departed my home to seek immediate veterinary care at the closest 24-hour animal ER because it was after 6 p.m., and clinics were closed. While racing to the ER, I composed an urgent veterinary message to Dr. Erickson at the VEC in Calabassas, where Sage had received treatment the previous day. Just moments before arriving at the ER, I received a call from Dr. Jaggers. She recognized the urgency of my voice and inquired about our proximity to Alhambra. She offered to remain in the office for 30 minutes if we could reach the clinic in time to assist Sage. Despite the congested traffic during rush hour, we arrived 47 minutes later. Dr. Jaggers graciously extended her availability beyond the clinic's closing time of 4 p.m., assuring us she would be ready to help Sage and us. Upon our arrival, Dr. Jaggers promptly welcomed us into the clinic. After visiting Sage and assessing his condition, she administered medication to provide immediate relief, which allowed us to discuss our treatment options. Where to begin.... Words cannot express how grateful I am for Dr Jaggers, Dr. Chang, Dr. Sheahan, and their entire team at VEC! They literally saved our 7 year old French Bulldog Gunner from going blind. It all started on a Sunday morning during a holiday weekend. Our dog woke up unable to open his eyes, basically just squinting. He really had no other symptoms other than some lethargy. It was very strange so we immediately rushed him to our local veterinary urgent care. They checked his eye pressures and both were 3 times greater than the normal range! He was having a severe glaucoma attack. There was nothing this clinic could do for us except refer us out to a 24 hour emergency vet about an 1.5 hour drive away. Should fate have it, the urgent care did have a business card for VEC handy. At some point enroute to the emergency vet, I made a call to the after-hours number. Within 20 minutes, I get a return phone call from Dr. Jaggers, and the rest is history. Mind you, this is a Sunday of a holiday weekend, but within 2 hours of speaking to Dr. Jaggers over the phone, and with her working with the ER vet, we were able to get our Gunner into the VEC office in Alhambra for an emergency surgery. It was a very long, emotional, intense day. Despite that, Dr. Jaggers and Dr. Chang thoroughly guided us throughout every step of the way, and put us at ease. Their care and compassion for our Gunner was above and beyond the call. Dr. Jaggers in particular has been so amazing in the weeks following the surgery answering every call and text message we've sent her regarding Gunner! You don't see that too often anymore. Also, a huge shout out to vet tech Jocelyn who came in on her day off to assist Dr. Chang and Dr. Jaggers with the surgery. She was so kind and caring with Gunner! We are coming up on one month post surgery, and Gunner is doing great. But most of all, he can still see! Their care, expertise, and sense of urgency, is what ultimately saved him. would love to start by saying thank you to Dr. Chang & the whole veterinary eye clinic team. the lobby is welcoming they have treats set out for your pets and enough seating in case you need to wait. The front desk team was extremely friendly every time we came. Our first visit Draco came in with cherry eye on his left eye. The doctors came in & treated him with so much care & talked to him while they checked his eyes out. As they were doing his check up they would walk me through the process & the reason that had to do each test. After, Dr. Chang walked us through the surgery process and what to expect. He gave us the option between doing surgery on just one eye or doing both eyes to prevent the cherry eye from reoccurring. We went with doing surgery on both eyes. Booking surgery was extremely easy. We got there the day of surgery & the surgery team was ready. Draco got checked out and within minutes was taken into surgery. A couple hours later i got a call from the staff updating me on Draco's surgery. During his pickup they explained in detail post surgery care & to call them if im concerned about anything. We always consult with Dr.Chang but on the day we went he was performing surgery so we was recommended to consult with Dr.Sheahan and we ended up showing my cats eyes.My cat was diagnosed with eye sequentra before and Dr.Chang prescribed antibiotic eye drops and later few months the sequentra fell on its own.But my cats another eye was diagnosed with sequentra again and we talked to Dr.Sheahan about it and she KEPT MAKINH SURGERY URGENT!! In February 2026 my 12 year old terrier Bambi, suffered a painful eye lenses luxation in her right eye. We were devastated to see her in so much pain and at the possibility of her losing her eye. I'm actually writing this review on behalf of my dog, Jolie, who had the pleasure of getting a clean bill of eye health from Dr. Sheahan today, after being told she may have cataracts from another vet. Dr. Sheahan and her lovely staff, including Zooey, performed a number of tests, all while explaining every minor detail with the utmost thoroughness and patience. I don't even know where to begin. Dr. Sheahan saved my dog's eyes from a terrifying Blepharitis flare-up. When we first arrived to her office we felt defeated and didn't know what else to do to help him. We took him in looking like the attached photo. She gave him medication, and by the second day, his eyes were SIGNIFICANTLY better. She was so caring and gentle with him. Her staff alike. They got me in for an emergency same day appointment on a Saturday! My dog woke up blind one morning with no prior vision issues. I saw Dr.Jaggers that day and she was very caring, and took the time to explain everything very well. She's been following up with me, checking in on us, and has always been super nice and supportive. It's been a hard transition but she's helped a lot through it all, and has made it as easy as it can be. We took our cat to Dr. Sheahan and she's amazing. Her level of knowledge is stellar, and she's extraordinarily good at explaining things. Not only did she help us understand what was going on, but she was very caring as well. Our primary vet had missed some very important details, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the level of care afforded to our little guy.
