We are so grateful that we know Dr. Jennifer Sheahan. We are new owners to a baby bunny and noticed that his eyes were watery. I called Dr. Jennifer Sheahan and she knew exactly what to do. We quickly made an appointment to see her within a couple days and she performed a few different tests to make sure there wasn't anything else underlying. They flushed her eyes out and she was instantly cured. No more watery eyes. Her staff was amazing and very kind. Treated our bunny like it was their own. Thank you Toby! I would definitely recommend Dr. Sheahan to anyone who has animal eye issues.

Dr. Sheahan and the staff here are absolutely wonderful. My foster dog needed surgery on both eyes for glaucoma and cataracts. Dr. Sheahan thoroughly explained the process and what to expect before and after surgery. I appreciate that she offered more glaucoma treatment options than other doctors. We drove all the way from Orange County which often took more than an hour each way. It was totally worth it. Post-surgery, the doctor kindly answered any urgent questions even at odd hours. My dog's prognosis was very good and he's able to see again - which helped immensely in helping him find a permanent home. Thank you, Dr. Sheahan and VEC.

What's up: Our senior dog suddenly developed a cloudy eye with discharge! We were recommended by our primary vet to get it checked out by an ophthalmologist. Parking: Parking was available in their front lot. The building is located right on the corner of Valley Blvd and Cabrillo Ave (right across from Aloha Food Factory). Environment: Appointments are required. We called early in the morning and they were able to squeeze us in for an afternoon appointment. The office is well lit and comfortable; they also have WiFi and jars of pet snacks at the waiting area. We checked in at the reception desk, got our dog weighed, and were then shown to the exam room. After a short wait, Jocelyn came in to ask some questions as well as perform some initial eye tests. Dr. Chang came by afterwards to do additional tests and based on those these, he was able to provide easy to understand explanations of the findings as well as the next steps to take. Payment is made at the end of the visit at the reception desk. What was ordered: - Eye examination - Medical eye drops Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Dr. Chang, Dr. Jaggers, and the staff were awesome. They treated our doggo so nicely and were able to determine what was bothering him. We were also really appreciative of how well Dr. Chang explained things. He helped put us at ease since we were panicking about our dog's condition. They are also very responsive through text messages, yay! Credit cards and ApplePay are accepted.

Dr. Jennifer Sheehan is truly an exceptional veterinary ophthalmologist. She beautifully corrected my bulldog's cherry eyes, and she has also successfully treated my Boston Terrier's corneal ulcers twice--once in each eye. Her expertise, precision, and compassionate care have given my dogs the best possible outcomes every time. What sets Dr. Sheehan apart is not only her incredible skill but also how genuinely caring she is. She takes the time to explain everything, treats my pets as if they were her own, and always makes me feel confident that they're in the best hands. I gladly travel several hours to see Dr. Sheehan because I know the quality of care she provides is worth every mile. Dr. Sheahan is amazing! My dog has a bad eye injury and my best friend who's in the vet industry referred me to her. It was an hour drive for me but it was so worth it!!! Dr. Sheahan explained everything in such detail, but in a way us normal folk can understand it. She showed me everything going on in his eye, all the images, had me take pics with my cell from books that had pictures and write-ups of what I needed to keep an eye out for in the future (no pun intended lol) and she played a video for me to watch while they ran tests in the back that taught me how to test my dog's vision tracking. I really can't say enough about her and the care she gave my sweet Teddy! He was already feeling so much better the very next day! If your fur baby needs an eye doctor, you could not choose a better doctor to take them too!

Dr Sheehan and her team put me and my dog at such ease! after a follow up with our general vet they said we should try to see if we can get an appt with an ophthalmologist before our next follow up. I called their Alhambra office but their next available wasn't until 2 weeks. I called their Pomona office and they were able to get me in within the next 2 hrs. They also had an open slot where the doctor would be in and out with other patients and they'd be able to squeeze us in if we couldn't make the 12pm spot since we had an hour+ drive from LA. We got there 1230 and were seen within 15 mins. My dog isn't the most comfortable at the vet but they were patient with him. We were able to leave the room since he's a bit protective and watch from outside with a peep hole (never had the opportunity to do that) Dr Sheehan educated us on my dog's melting ulcer and how severe it was. She wanted to make sure there wasn't anything lodged inside so we had to sedate my dog but they did it very quickly. Her and her team were also conscious of the costs and sedating my dog for the 2nd time that week. Her front desk team was also so so so responsive before I got there. They upped our eye drop meds from our general vet. I'd send in photos to their team and they'd review it within that day and give me a call. They really put you at ease with how much care they provide for you and your dog. After sending another set of photos and videos to them, Dr Sheehan had called me directly after a long day at the clinic to reassure my dog's eye looks good/healing. Although it's a bit of a drive, I can rest easy knowing my dog is in good hands with Dr Sheehan and her team! I'm glad I was able to find them via yelp/google reviews too!

We had the best experience here for our senior husky. The staff went above and beyond to help him during a time-sensitive scary eye emergency. Special mention--Dr. Jaggers was amazing. You can tell she loves animals, wants the very best for them, and knows what she's doing. She guided us through a very scary process, and I'm happy to report that our dog is doing great!

Half of the front reception were welcoming but not the kind of intro a new client would expect. Almost felt as if reception didn't want to greet or talk to us so that was disappointing but we checked in for our appointment anyway. Fortunately, the rest of the staff and vet techs that helped inside the room were kind, patient and gentle when performing the eye exams on our yorkie. Our yorkie was not happy with the process but the exams were not invasive. Dr. Chang then checked our yorkie's eyes and thoroughly explained the issue our old dog was having. He took his time to answer questions and we feel confident knowing our yorkie is doing great overall. He does have cataracts as a result of aging but is natural for a 17 year old furbaby. We are grateful for Dr. Chang and the techs professional and caring attitude toward our furbaby. Knowledgeable, honest and I'd definitely come back if any of my pets have specific eye/vision concerns. Thanks for your time and gentleness on our sweet, little ole' dog =)

I would like to give this clinic 100 stars instead of 5. My cat has been coming to this clinic for a long time. My cat is under constant eye monitoring. Dr. Chan is a very competent and honest doctor. He explains things very well and is very friendly. You can't find this doctor anywhere else, he's the only one you can trust. The front desk guys and nurses are very friendly.

So glad Dr.Chang and Dr.Sheahan were able to fit me in today. I used to bring my older dog to this location and was so pleased with the service I felt comfortable taking my current dog in there knowing they know what to do and look for. I'm so pleased with the service and that he was able to be helped so quickly with a clear explanation of the findings.

Took my 13 year old pug Bruce here for a consult. He had been suffering from a severe dry eye on his right eye. My prior vet just said to keep giving him artificial tears to help with tear production. Fast forward a few months later he started to grow a mass on the dry eye. Lots of gunk kept building up, took him to my new vet and was referred to Dr Tracy. During the consult she spotted the problem and gave me 2 options. Surgically remove the mass and he would have to go under or doing a cryo surgery. We opted for the cryo surgery. She performed the procedure very quick and I was able to bring Bruce home after about an hour! They sent the mass for testing. She put him on a treatment that had some eye medication and eye drops as well as some anti inflammatory stuff. His eye was healing nicely and noticed his eye was very glossy. A few days later I got a call from Dr Tracy with the results of the mass and it was benign! A big relief Had our post procedure check up today and when they were doing the eye test, the strips were filled with tears I almost cried lol. I remember a month ago when we did the test there was no tears to be seen on the eye test for his right eye. Thank you Dr Tracy for the constant communication and transparency throughout the whole process. Also big thanks to all the techs that helped out as well

We have had an amazing experience with Dr. Sheahan. We were referred to Dr. Sheahan by our local vet for an evaluation for cataract surgery. The Pomona office is an hour from our house, but we decided to go for it because of the recommendation, and we're glad we did, even with all the return visits involved in post-surgery care. Our 15-year-old dog can now see, and we hope this improves his quality of life for the remaining time we have with him. But what really stands out to us about Dr. Sheahan is the level of care she has provided since his surgery. She has been available to us by phone or text whenever we had a question and has adjusted his medications as needed. He ended up in the hospital for his other health conditions about a week after the surgery, and Dr. Sheahan was in constant communication with his care team there to make sure they were measuring his eye pressure and consulting with them about adjustments to his medication. She still texts just to see how he's doing between our scheduled check ups. We would definitely recommend Dr. Sheahan if you are considering cataract surgery for your dog.

Our Westie is recovering from a large ulcer at the moment. It all happened so suddenly and needed immediate attention because we could tell he was in pain :( we had travel plans for Easter so the timing was tricky! Dr. Sheahan called the office, requesting we be prioritized and was able to squeeze us in with Dr. Chang. This type of attention and care from a doctor is really hard to find!! I was definitely feeling uneasy and anxious leading up to the appointment but as soon as we got there, the staff including the doctor were incredibly caring and gentle but you could also tell they knew exactly what they were doing. I knew right then we were at the right place for the best care. Thank you so much for treating us like family, hopefully we won't have more eye issues but in the case we do, I know the place to go! read more

If I could, I would leave ten 5-star reviews for Dr. Sheahan and her team. Our boxer-bulldog Canela had a case of an inward growing (near invisible) eyelash that was essentially scratching a hole in her cornea. We had been to three vets and none of them could treat it properly and one of them even prescribed medication that made it worst. Within 5 minutes of Dr. Sheahan entering the room, she immediately spotted the issue in Canela's eye and presented a plan for resolving the issue and treatment. Honestly, we were at a point before meeting Dr. Sheahan thinking our dog may lose her eye. But, to our pleasant surprise, immediately after Dr. Sheahan's team completed the small operation, Canela was back to having two eyes open and being playful after two months of pain. I can't thank you all enough for your kindness and love you show our pets. Thanks for all you do! read more

From our first interaction over the phone to walking out after the appointment, our experience at VEC was top notch. Our pup Burt had an urgent need, I sent an email after hours Friday night explaining that the urgent care doc wanted him seen asap. I called at 8:05 am the next day (Saturday!) and they had already read the email and the doc would be in soon to determine if they could fit us in. They did! The two staff members in the office who greeted us were friendly and efficient. The clinic is clean and inviting. Doctor Potnis is wonderful--kind, knowledgeable, gentle. She took great care to examine Burt and to patiently explain everything to us, describe all of the options and possible pros and cons. All the while a vet tech quietly did some tests on our Burt while another documented everything so we could focus and listen. We have a virtual word for word record of the appointment. We walked out feeling cared for (both us and Burt) and prepared for continuing treatment at home. We highly recommend VEC should you ever need them. read more

My puppy Rusty had his first surgery with Dr. Jennifer Sheahan ‍ His right eye was suddenly bloodshot, and overnight it become swollen. He was diagnosed with Cherry Eye and a secondary infection (like conjunctivitis). After 10 days of eye drops, the infection cleared, but the Cherry Eye hadn't resolved on its own. We decided that surgery was the best thing to do for Rusty. While the doctor was operating yesterday, she found a secondary condition called Scrolled Third Eye Cartilage. This is an abnormally large cartilage and it had to be snipped in order for the third eyelid to be surgically put back into place. Had we not done the surgery, the prolapsed third eyelid wouldn't have gone back on its own. I am so grateful for all of the guidance and expertise of the Veterinary Eye Clinic throughout this whole process. They were there for every text and phone call I've made along the way (there were many) and they have always been super nice, informative, and loving to Rusty. Her team has been amazing throughout this whole process, guiding us with love and care for Rusty each step of the way. I am writing this Yelp review to express my utmost gratitude and admiration for Dr. Chang and his team for bringing back Niu Niu's vision. We were turned down by another eye institute, but luckily we found Dr. Chang, and he brought her back from blindness. It only takes one doctor with compassion, experience, and expertise, to change a dog's life. My 14-year-old dog Niu Niu was diagnosed with diabetes in February 2024. By June 2024, she has developed cataract in both eyes and she could no longer see. It was heartbreaking to see her blind and basically lost all her daily life functions. She tries to remember where everything is, but you can see it is fading. We first went to another eye institute recommended by my primary vet. After an entire day of test, they concluded that Niu Niu's retina was not responsive enough, so even with surgery, she will not be able to see. Tears came down my face instantly when I heard the devastating bad news (which was casually given to me in the parking lot - this is for another Yelp review and do not expect too many stars). I cannot believe Niu Niu will live out her life in the dark when she could see perfectly just a few weeks ago. I searched Yelp for a second opinion and luckily found Vet Eye Clinic at Alhambra with perfect ratings. Dr. Chang looked into Niu Niu's eyes carefully and quickly made an important discovery: Niu Niu's left and right eye have different patterns of cataract - one is a big dense block (zero vision), but the other eye with gradual levels of cataract may still have residual vision. He took her to a different room and Niu Niu was able to avoid some objects, which proves his theory correct. This finding is very significant because it means her retina still works. I was amazed - this is what the other eye institute did not find after an entire day of test! Dr. Chang felt Niu Niu is qualified for a cataract surgery and we were just overjoyed. Niu Niu's surgery was on 8/20/2024 and it was a success. Since she is diabetic, pre-surgery she had a small breakfast at 5am with half dosage of her regular insulin. Dr. Chang removed cataract from both eyes and was able to put a lens in one eye (the other eye was too weak). I was happy already. We went home that evening and she was already "looking around". Ps -- Niu Niu can see far perfectly, but only one eye can see clearly at short distance. The next 2 weeks were filled with 8 different types of eye drops, antibiotic, pain killers, every few hours. It was very tough but we made it. At week 2 when things were getting better, Niu Niu developed an ulcer in one of her eyes. Dr. Chang swiftly altered the medications and gave her serum to heal the ulcer. It worked. Her ulcer healed (thank God!) and she was becoming better. By week 3 she was off the cone and she could see. When I took her out for a walk, you should see the expression on her face. She could see again! I was so happy for her I was in tears. All this is thanks to Dr. Chang. He is a true expert in this field and a brilliant surgeon. Without him, we will still be sitting in the dark. I cannot imagine how sad it would be for her if that's how she spends the rest of her life. At least now when God should finally have her, she will remember the sunshine, the blue sky, the happy times, and hopefully, me. I read about many failed cataract surgeries and I know how lucky we are. We were so lucky to find Dr. Chang who found Niu Niu could still see and gave her the chance that changed her life. The clinic is very well run. Technicians are friendly and the very knowledgeable. Instructions are clearly printed on a document and a technician will go over it with you before you leave, which I find extremely helpful. Dr. Chang is very compassionate and patient, and he is a great communicator. He explains medical details really well, and he understands all the ins and outs of our little patient history. He never brushes off any comments or belittles my concerns. We were also helped by other doctors at the clinic, Dr. Sheahan, Dr. Potnis, Dr. Jaggers, which is greatly appreciated. Today marked the 4th month of Niu Niu's surgery. We have taken many walks, shared many laughters, and I have gotten so many kisses from her. I know nothing comes easy and I am so grateful for a happy ending. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the clinic. I can only imagine how many vision they restored and how many lives they saved. May God bless all creatures great and small. read more

I brought my cat in to see Dr. Sheahan because she had rash next to her eye that wasn't going away. Dr. Sheahan was able to diagnose it and explain what it was to me, what causes it, and how the medication will treat it, as well as how to prevent it from happening again. Dr. Sheahan was so gentle and kind to my cat that was scared to be at the vet in the first place. I trust Dr. Sheahan with all of my animals, and have found a vet for life. Update: I brought my 6 month old Doberman/ Weimaraner in to see Dr. Sheahan just to do a baseline overall eye exam. She was super sweet and explained the process and the findings very clearly. You can tell that everyone that works here genuinely cares for animals and treats them with so much kindness. Dr. Sheahan is now my go-to vet for any of my dog's eye care, and any future dogs I may have. If you're looking for an honest, friendly, and caring vet, Dr. Sheahan is it. read more

Walked in, noticed they're a busy office. On the bright side they were able to fit us in this morning. Will update rating once they see us in about an hour. Without seeing my pet I was told off the back that the cost of today's visit would cost around $340 I understand because this is a specialist. Let's see how it goes when we return. Staying optimistic. UPDATE***** We returned and my fur baby received great service from the dr and staff. The eye/cornea procedure was done before noon. She's due back for her check up at the end of the month. She did well during the procedure. Price $$$$$ it is pricey; be ready to whip out your credit card lol Great service; we recommend this place. We came in for an ulcer developing on her eye. read more

This isn't really about their services, but more their etiquette. We had scheduled an appointment for our dog, but she ended up passing away 2 days before the appointment. We gave them a call to cancel the appointment, once we made the decision to allow her to cross the rainbow bridge. The next day, at 7:20am, while we are still mourning, a representative called to confirm her appointment for the following day. We expressed that she had passed the night before and we had called previously to cancel. The rep was definitely caught off guard, and she apologized and fumbled the phone, and hung up on us. Not that we had anything else to say beyond that, but the random rustling on the phone, her panic of not knowing what to do/say, and ultimately hanging up the phone without a proper greeting was abrupt and unprofessional. I'm sure death amongst your patients is uncommon, but the way this call was handled lacked empathy and understanding for a family who lost a beloved member of the family. Do better. read more

This review comes a bit late, but one of my senior dogs, Moo, formed a mature cataract in one eye in a very short time period last spring. I found Veterinary Eye Clinic on Yelp and chose to come here after carefully comparing the reviews of here and a couple of other places. I found Dr. Sheahan to be very knowledgeable, professional, and personable. I loved that she explained the entire cataract surgery process from beginning to end very thoroughly, and patiently answered all of my questions (and I ask a lot of questions). Not only has Moo's left eye (originally with the cataract) been thoroughly tested and monitored pre and post surgery, but her right eye has also been evaluated since this small senior dog is getting even older. Moo IS a success story! I believe she was even called a surgery model patient in one of the post op appointments. Although everything was a bit expensive, I am so happy that I made the choice to move forward with the surgery for Moo to regain her vision. The difference is completely noticeable even though the cataract surgery was just for one eye. I have Dr. Sheahan and the staff at Veterinary Eye Clinic to thank for that. I cannot recommend Dr. Sheahan enough! read more

HIGHLY recommend VEC. Dr. Chang is amazing. He takes the time to explain everything to you so you leave feeling clear on what's going on with your pet. Eye stuff can be hard to understand but I had such a better experience here than any other eye clinic I have gone to previously. I got an honest treatment plan unlike other clinics I've gone to where they try to push unnecessary tests and procedures making the bill sky high. This was not the case with Dr. Chang. :) The pricing is very good and reasonable and they don't hike up the prices on their prescription meds like most other places I've been to in the past. I will be making this place my primary eye doctor for my pet from now on. 5/5 stars!!!! read more

Dr. Sheahan, Dr. Chang, and the VEC Staff are the best at what they do and saved my dog's eye. On 04/07/22, we took him to VEC, and they diagnosed him with a corneal eye injury and prescribed antibiotics and serums to control the infection. Everything healed fine. On 5/10/22, he came home after being hospitalized for a few nights and was diagnosed with diabetes. We noticed his eye looked very cloudy. On 05/14/22, we brought him back to the VEC, who diagnosed him with a deep corneal ulcer and inflammation. He was prescribed medication to help with the inflammation. We brought him back on 05/16/22, and he was diagnosed with Bullous Keratopathy. Dr. Sheahan performed a third eye flap surgery, and our dog has been given eye drops and pain medication. His stitches were removed on 06/01/22, and on 06/12/22, his eyes look amazing! Dr. Sheahan, Dr. Chang, and the team were available for us every step and ensured that our dog was safe and comfortable. We are so grateful for the patience, comfort, and care provided by the VEC staff, and we are so thankful for them. read more

We had a wonderful first visit with Dr Chang and his assistants. He was so kind and gentle with our older dog. He didn't think we needed surgery at this time. His assistants were very patient and gentle with our dog as he was nervous and squirming during the eye exams. The receptionists at the front desk were friendly to us too. Such a wonderful experience. We'll definitely go back to them for a recheck within a year. I highly recommend this office. read more

Such caring and loving staff! So much gratitude for all that was done for our dog Rosie. Dr. Sheahan was the utmost helpful and most caring towards animals I've ever met in my life. She personally texted us and checked up on Rosie's condition after her surgery even though she wasn't even the person to perform the surgery for Rosie. Booked an appointment for my dog to get a second opinion on his catarct. Upon arrival I was notified that there was an emergency and that I had to wait and additional 30 mins . As I am waiting another patient walks out of one of the rooms as she also was waiting a very long time and asked how long will it take and they replied to her with the same "30 mins". I walked up and asked if it will be longer than 30 mins than I would like to reschedule as I have other things to do than wait hours for an appointment visit . Their reply was that they will have to check with the doctor and see if they have any openings so now I have to wait to see if they available to squeeze me in. I made an appointment and I had to wait for hours to imagine if they had to "squeeze me in". I possibly will have to do a surgery on my dog on his eye - a cost range of $8000- $10000 that this vet clinic will never see. I would like them to look at their staff and make sure they are doing their jobs- once issues like this happen they need to communicate to their patients so we are not just sitting there on a hot day with our animals in a small lobby . It's respect that builds trust . Unfortunately I will not return to this place as they lost my trust with my dog and of course my business . read more

No one wants to have to take their pet to the vet, but Veterinary Eye Clinic is as positive experience as you can get. The office and patient rooms are clean, and the staff/vet techs are friendly and responsive. We've never had an issue getting prescriptions filled or messages responded to. They're pretty on time with appointment times and I've never had to wait an extraordinary amount to be seen by Dr. Chang, who is knowledgeable and explain diagnosis and lab results. All in all we're glad this eye center is in our neighborhood! read more

Dr. Jennifer Sheahan and her staff are amazing! The ladies at the front desk were very sweet and helpful. my baby needed emergency surgery and being so scared and nervous , they made me feel so much better , that when I left him for the surgery, I knew he was in good hands. My pup Kramer has been coming here for several years now after we discovered that his right eye was red and watery with discharge. Turns out he had a corneal ulcer and coming to Dr. Chang was the best decision. He was able to do a corneal debridement and Kramer recovered fully. Ever since then, he hasn't had any other issues other than needing special eye drops for his calcium buildup. We are lifelong fans! read more

Ruby woke up with her right eye looking like this. Dr. Tran at Friendly Animal Hospital in H.B. referred me to Dr. Jen Sheahan. She wasn't working but spoke to me on the phone to ascertain what was going on with Ruby. She called Dr. Chang and asked him to see us. It is Saturday and he's booked. Dr. Chang agreed to see Ruby and was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. Dr. Chang diagnosed Ruby with Immune Keratitis and a punctuate corneal erosion. He took the time to thoroughly explain her condition and treatment plan. Ruby is a biter. Dr. Chang and his staff were very gentle with her and took the time to make her feel safe. Dr. Sheahan, Dr. Chang, and the entire staff at Veterinary Eye Clinic have been so devoted and helpful to saving my kitty's eye. I discovered my cat Prince had a corneal sequestrium in his right eye at only 9 months old, I brought him in the day I noticed, as they were able to clear up an emergency space for me, and I got him scheduled for surgery immediately. I was extremely nervous because the surgery is super intense, however I truly feel like I took Prince to the best possible people to do the job. Post surgery, Dr. Sheahan and Dr. Chang have seen me and Prince many times and have been very proactive with checking up with us to make sure his eye is healing properly. Last Saturday night, I contacted Dr. Sheahan because I saw something that worried me. She was actually out of the country and it was about 11 pm, but Dr. Sheahan took the time and texted with me for hours, answering all my questions and talking me through what to do. It has been three weeks since Prince has had his surgery, we still have a couple months to go for the eye to be totally healed, but he is on the right track! Dr. Sheahan and her team took such good care of our horse. He had a condition that other vets couldn't figure out, but Jennifer was a true force of perfection. They came to our home and looked at his eye which we were previously told that we should put him down or return him, but we found Dr. Sheahan, and that wasn't the case. Without getting too detailed, she gave us all possibilities so we were prepared for the worst case possible, but also the tools in case it was a treatable condition. I was so incredibly lucky to have been referred to Dr. Sheahan. If it weren't for her, I believe my kitty would have passed away by now. She literally treated my cat as if she were her own. She squeezed me into her busy schedule to assess my cat and was able to perform eye enucleation surgery a few days later. She is undoubtedly an expert in her field, but she also is so caring and patient and responsive. I wish all doctors could be like her. Just in time, and with one of the best. Our Bernie has had the roughest year of his life after we found out that he had a skin disorder that had brought him down to his lowest point. From our general vet, he was put on steroids to help with the condition and the negative side effects like dehydration that had led to his eye problem. Dr. Sheahan had diagnosed our Bernie with ulcers on his right and left eyes, with the left eye being in a condition that was one step away from surgery. She was the one had helped us understand, quickly and clearly, how and why it happened. More than that, she was alarmed by his skin condition and helped pipe us to an equally amazing dermatologist. We are extremely grateful to Dr. Sheahan and the staff here for doing the work that they do. Bernie has only been on an upward trajectory since we went here. Over the weeks, Bernie has only improved. His eyes are not in critical condition anymore and are almost completely healed. To boot, we've been able to reduce and are in the middle of transitioning him out of the steroids he was taking. We brought our British Shorthair kitten in for his Entropian eye issue and Dr. Jaggers injected filler to nor his lower lids to correct it. She was able to squeeze us in during our consult (which I know isn't always easy) and did a FANTASTIC job! He is able to open his eyes wide and big and we can already tell how much better he feels. Dr. Sheahan is wonderful! My poor pup, Gwen, is experiencing neurological issues that caused an eye ulcer and Dr. Sheahan was able to see her so quickly to assess. When we arrived, it was an easy check in and little to no wait time. Dr. Sheahan and her staff explained the cause and treatment of my pup's eye so well and made sure we understood all of the information. She even showed us instructional materials to help us with treatment and what signs to look for if Gwen's condition worsened. When our little Pixie (an 11-year-old Miniature Pinscher) went blind suddenly with diabetic cataracts, the entire family was devastated. Fortunately, our primary veterinarian put us in contact with Dr. Sheahan and the Veterinarian Eye Clinic in Alhambra. From the beginning Dr. Sheahan treated us with patience and compassion. She explained our options and the procedure for the cataract surgery. She made us feel like we were in caring and capable hands. Dr. Sheahan and the entire team accommodated us and assured us through all the preparations for surgery and the surgery itself. We truly felt part of a family that was looking after us (especially Pixie). The entire team was above professional and extremely experienced. Throughout the entire procedure we looked after and reassured. Pixie was treated very well. After the surgery when Pixie, was able to see us again, our joy was indescribable. Post-operation care was extremely well-explained by attending surgeon Dr. Chang and even today we still feel the entire team treats Pixie as an important patient. The service at the clinic is personal and feels family like rather than corporate. We always have their support and they are available ANY day. We are forever grateful to the entire team for giving her sight. What they have done for us is priceless. They gave us back our Pixie. She is herself again... full of spunk and energy. Only the best! Found a cat with a punctured eye and was recommended to get it examined ASAP or he may risk losing it. All the places I called were booked for weeks. I called this Vet Eye Clinic and although they were already closing for the day, they understood the urgency and allowed us to come in the same day. All the staff were super pleasant and nice to talk to. The vet was very professional and even educates you on the diagnosis and how to treat it. If we didn't get the eye checked and treated, the eye would have gotten infected and the surgery to fix would have cost $10k. Glad we managed to dodge that ball. We made a total of 3 visits until the eye was completely healed. Very happy overall!! read more

My primary vet suggested an urgent ophthalmologist visit for my cat and after calling several clinics around LA, Dr.Sheahan and her team agreed to meet with me passed their normal closing time for an emergency visit. As a new client, I felt like Dr. Sheahan made sure there was time in her booked schedule to see me. She made me feel at ease when I was worried about my chameleon. She examined Blueberry to see what was going on with his right eye. He had been squinting and starting keeping it closed. Wasn't very active, he just didn't want to do much. She checked his eye and knew what was going on. Sent us home with some drops and after a few days, blueberry is moving around, wanting to come out and just hang out with our family. My dog Oliver was recently diagnosed with a cataract in his left eye. Actually my smarty pants BF first noticed it and it was confirmed by a vet who told me I would need to see a specialist to discuss options. In the SGV, there were two specialists on my vet's list of referrals. I called both but noticed this one had consistently good reviews. Veterinary Eye Clinic (VEC) was very upfront about their consultation fee and related tests (this in on their Yelp page). It was A LOT more reasonable than the other specialist too. They were booking about 2 weeks out. Dr. Sheehan who saw Oliver was very matter of fact in explaining our options without any pressure which I really appreciated. She discussed the situation in a way to make it more understandable to a layperson. She also was very open to my questions and patient, all pluses. Clearly, I would recommend this specialist. read more

Dr. Park is kind and he doesn't pressure you for services unless he believes you absolutely need it. For example my dog has skin issues and with his help we were able to resolve them. The other big thing for me is that it's HIS practice. Not corporate owned. I think that plays a huge part into why he delivers such great services at an affordable price. Some of the vets are good, others not so much. We finally decided to switch to a new practice after experiencing enough errors and lapses in care to realize our dogs are not safe receiving care at Vet Villa. I strongly recommend avoiding Vet Villa. 1) Vet Villa prescribed Carprofen flavored tablets to our dog for a painful condition. We were not instructed to keep the bottle far out of reach. The dog found the pill bottle, chewed through the plastic, ate all the pills and suffered an accidental overdose. This led to 2 emergency vet visits, gastrointestinal toxicity that kept us up all night for 5 nights, and large out of pocket costs. But we are glad our dog is still alive. The emergency vet told us they always counsel pet parents to keep this medication bottle far away from the pet, and that they have seen multiple similar overdoses. Vet Villa did not acknowledge my feedback to change their counseling practices to prevent this from happening to others in the future. 2) A skin biopsy was performed in a completely inappropriate fashion by a veterinarian who acted as if she had never evaluated a skin lesion before. I can speak to this because I am a practicing dermatologist. The vet's approach as she examined reminded me of a first year medical student evaluating a condition for the first time. I did not contradict the vet's recommendation and gave it a chance. After all, I am a human doctor, what do I know about veterinary care. As expected, the results returned inconclusive due to the incorrect sampling method. The out of pocket cost was significant. 3) Bloodwork was lost and had to be re-drawn -- no explanation for why it was lost. 4) The practice's own pharmacy does not share prescription records with the office. I was asked in a very accusatory way to provide proof of a prescription that had been continuously refilled by Vet Villa using their own pharmacy for several years.

I will never use them again after my TERRIBLE experience. Initially used this service for a short business trip with success so tried again for a longer trip to see family between Christmas and NYE. The company sent a sitter I had never met who incorrectly used the pill injector on my sick, elderly cat and forced her to swallow the over inch-long applicator tip. Resulted in $3,000 emergency vet surgery to remove that I had to manage from out of town. So deeply stressful for me but mainly my poor elderly asthmatic cat!! They handled it but SO unnecessary and only happened bc of their bizarre business model where they pick whichever of their employees are available, not someone who knows your house/pet. So if you get one who knows what they're doing you don't necessarily get them again - it's totally random from the customer's perspective. Instead of enjoying my family I had to spend the time managing the emergency they created from afar, stressed and fuming that I trusted this company to send someone competent to care for my sweet older cat. After the first disastrous pill delivery issue they sent the **same person** again a day later who clearly doesn't know how to give a cat medication and she, again, incorrectly gave my cat her medication!!! My cat gets ill if she misses just one day, the medication is a high-dose steroid for her asthma. The employee did not know how to give her the pill, but still marked the medication as administered on their form (I only figured out it didn't happen when I read the notes) and instead of giving her the pill rubbed it on her gums -?!? I am FURIOUS for my poor cat and at the incompetence of this employee they continue to use, along with the management that assured me they know how to give cats medication and yet still sent this individual out after it was proved that they cannot give a cat medication effectively. The other employees seemed to be ok but I had no choice over who they sent over, meaning every visit was a gamble. If you need anything beyond the most basic service, avoid avoid avoid!!!

They have an app now which makes communication even easier - they send emails/messages and many photos with every visit. The sitters follow any instructions very well - we used to have an elderly cat that needed medications and they took care of it no problems! Making reservations for visits in their app is so easy and they approve them very quickly or reach out if there are any issues or questions. They get very busy around major holidays but always make sure to give us a heads up before things get full - above and beyond! On our first visit, a manager came out to the house and met our pets and set us up with a very solid lock box for the house key that the sitters use to enter and exit. They check the mail and will water plants if needed too. They always give our boys so much love and treats and make sure they get some play time in every visit. They fill their food bowls, top off the water fountain, scoop the litter, and even sweep up! Great service! Their prices have gone up quite a bit since we first signed up - but what hasn't nowadays? Lol - their prices are comparable to other sitting companies locally and it's worth it for the peace of mind we get - huge ty to all our sitters and to Sitters4Paws for all your love and care!

During his stay, I shared with Erika that I was having separation anxiety, and she kindly shared various videos, provided updates and assured me that he was doing well. When we picked him up, he turned back to look at Erika with such appreciation and care that we knew he'd had a blast and felt safe with her. I am leaving a very detailed/long review, but please take the time to read it, as it highlights just how much you can trust these wonderful people with your pets! Dr. Sheahan and her team are the most compassionate and empathetic vets I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They always treated my duck, Trudy, like he was their own and they were always happy to see him. My duck, Trudy, was suffering from an ulcer on his remaining eye, which was caused by a botched enucleation procedure on his right eye performed by an inexperienced general practitioner I had previously taken him to. I found an avian specialist who referred me to VEC, and we began a treatment plan with the primary goal of avoiding the removal of his eye. After a year and a half of diligently following the treatment regimen we were able to bring the eye pressure down to normal levels, but the abscess in his eye would just not heal. Unfortunately, the abscess ruptured, and Dr. Sheahan and I discussed our options. We both agreed that the best course of action was to remove the remaining eye, as it was causing him significant discomfort and he was already blind in that same remaining eye. This was an incredibly hard decision for both of us to make, and our main concern was whether a bird in his condition could handle the surgery. Dr. Sheahan reached out to my avian GP, and together they performed the surgery, which reassured me that Trudy was in the excellent hands of both of doctors. On the day of the surgery, I was an emotional wreck and became ill due to exhaustion and food poisoning from a restaurant I ate at that morning. The staff was incredibly kind and supportive while I waited for Trudy's surgery to be completed. After the surgery, Dr. Potnis met with me and explained the post-operative care Trudy would need. She was so compassionate and even offered me some 7-Up to soothe my stomach, as well as snacks for the long drive home. She also asked that I text her when I arrived home as well and wanted to ensure my safety. I would also like to thank Jeremy for his kindness toward Trudy during all of his check-ups, and for checking up on me when I was feeling sick on the day of the surgery. When I brought Trudy home, I knew we had made the right choice in removing the eye. He acted as though nothing had happened and was back to being his normal, happy self, even without both eyes. Dr. Sheahan continued to check in frequently via text throughout the holidays to check on his recovery. It's been over a month since the surgery, and he is doing absolutely fantastic--back to playing in the mud and soaking up the sun with his girlfriend. I can't thank Dr. Sheahan and the VEC staff enough for giving Trudy his life back. he is a lucky duck to have such wonderful people care for him. read more

Our 15 year old Shih Tzu, Oreo, had an emergency when his corneal ulcer ruptured. After an overnight visit to the emergency vet, we were advised to find a specialist the next morning. We called several places, but Veterinary Eye Clinic was the only one that truly understood the urgency of the situation. They told us to bring Oreo in right away. We were seen by Dr. Potnis, who immediately put us at ease. She ran the necessary tests and took the time to thoroughly explain every option, making sure we felt informed and supported during such a stressful moment. I genuinely appreciated her compassion and the calm, caring way she guided us through everything. Ultimately, we decided to proceed with an enucleation for Oreo's ruptured eye. His surgery was scheduled for the next available date, just two days later, and Dr. Chang performed the procedure. Everything went incredibly well. We were especially nervous considering Oreo's age, but he was truly in excellent hands. Oreo recovered beautifully and is now a happy little doggo with one eye. Dr. Potnis also started him on eye drops to protect his remaining eye and help prevent future ulcers, which gave us even more peace of mind. We are so grateful for the exceptional care we received. As a diabetic dog, she developed cataracts and eventually went blind. Two years ago, Dr. Sheahan performed cataract surgery, and the results were truly life-changing--my dog regained her vision, energy, and happiness. More recently, she developed Horner's Syndrome, and once again, Dr. Sheahan was thorough, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. our Neapolitan Rescue group was so fortunate to find Veterinary Eye Clinic and particularly Dr Jennifer Sheahan and her Resident. our rescue was contacted by a Los Angeles Shelter re a female Neapolitan Mastiff who was found homeless as a stray living on the streets. she was in deplorable condition not the least was a severe eye infection and what is known as entropion requiring surgical treatment to prevent a long term disability and blindness. After attempting to find a Specialist who would accept her for care, we were referred to Dr Sheahan. The Residents, the Veterinary Technicians and the entire staff could not have been more compassionate In addition to their expertis. The surgery was such that only a boarded eye surgeon could have done so avoiding complications and accomplishing surgical goals. I cannot begin to explain how amazing Dr. Sheahan and her team are! We brought our dog Biggie, a 3.5 year old English Bulldog, who was diagnosed with retinal detachments in both eyes. From the moment we stepped in the office, the front desk girls greeted us with such kindness. Fast forward to the exam room where we met Dr Sheahan, we were immediately more relaxed knowing that Biggie is great hands. Just wanted to say thank you to the doctors and staff here!!! I took Mimi to the different vet first when I noticed she has problem in her left eye which I've never seen before. The doctor said she probably got cut, didn't sound like a big deal. So I was giving her the eye drop he gave me but getting worse and worse and when I went back there, he told me he needs to remove her eye or, going to an animal eye specialist though they might say the same thing and I was thinking to myself why he didn't recommend me that in the first place?? And the nurse brought me the estimate$ right away, I said no. I found this place on yelp, has great reviews so I called them right away. They told me I can come in like after a few days (they had a cancellation or something), when the doctor told me there's no need for extraction, I was so happy and relieved!! I got a few different eye drops on that day and another one after they checked the lab result, and giving them her every day, and her eye started healing very quickly!! I cannot find the words to describe how I feel about Dr. Sheahan, and the Veterinary Eye Clinic staff. Although it was a Sunday, Dr. Sheahan took the cell phone call from SWEET BOY's referring doctor. SWEET BOY needed to be seen right away. This was a grave emergency. Although she was booked solid, Dr. Sheahan put him on her busy schedule for the very next day, that Monday morning at 9:00 o'clock. When we arrived at the clinic, we were seen right away by her. Dr. Sheahan gave SWEET BOY a thorough examination, and she performed several test on his eyes. She explained to me everything that she was doing, and why she was doing it. After getting all of my questions answered, and leaving the clinic with the prescribed medications for SWEET BOY's eyes, I left the clinic feeling that everything was going to be alright with him. Dr. Sheahan and her team at Veterinary Eye Clinic saved my cat Betsy's eye (including her vision), and possibly saved her life. After wasting precious time and money with inadequate care elsewhere, I got lucky and found Dr. Sheahan and the Veterinary Eye Clinic. I was initially impressed by her detailed and thorough demeanor, and now I am an advocate for Dr. Sheahan and the Veterinary Eye Clinic based on the care and results achieved. My cat Betsy underwent a complex CCT procedure to remove a corneal sequestrum and repair her cornea. I would encourage anyone reading this to do their research. If you've made it this far, your pet is likely facing some sort of potentially serious eye issue. There are very few veterinary ophthalmologists on the planet, and only a subset of them who regularly achieve successful outcomes. Our 4 year old cat Binx wound up with a genetic cataract. We had been to another veterinary office that specializes in eye care for animals but the night before surgery I had a bad feeling and cancelled. Luckily I did because it was the best decision I could have made for Binx! Dr. Sheahan is very sharp minded, knowledgeable, welcoming, and trustworthy. As we have navigated Binxy's journey in scheduling, having a successful surgery, and all his follow up appointments, our experience has been nothing short of excellence. The staff and team of vets have been so loving and have made Binxy's experience beautiful. Whenever we go to veterinary eye clinic he actually kneeds his little paws and seeing that makes me know he's had a wonderful experience every time. Dr. Sheahan and the VEC Alhambra staff are incredibly skilled, caring, and accommodating. Our rescue has a mastiff who was in desperate need of entropion surgery as she could barely open her eyes from having such a heavy brow. This issue is quite common in the breed; however, this particular dog was especially wrinkly and required a more complex procedure to correct the issue. Dr. Sheahan answered all questions and even provided photos of past surgeries to show the entire process. She is very thorough and experienced, and of course did an amazing job on our girl, who can now see better than she ever has. Having this surgery done was a crucial step in preparing our girl for adoption. Dr. Sheahan also worked with us on a price, since we are a nonprofit rescue and had to apply for a grant to cover the procedure. We are so grateful that we were referred to Dr. Sheahan and VEC, and are thrilled with the results! read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Sheehan, Dr. Erickson, and their amazing team. My frenchie recently underwent an eye graft surgical procedure, and the experience from start to finish was exceptional. Dr. Sheehan showed incredible expertise and care, taking the time to explain every step of the process and answering all of my questions in detail. The surgery was complex, and I was understandably nervous, but Dr. Erickson came highly recommended and put me at ease immediately. The attention to detail and aftercare instructions were thorough, and it was evident that the entire team truly cares about the well-being of their patients. I had a great experience bringing my dog, Ace, to see Dr. Sheahan. She was able to fit him in on an emergency basis, which meant so much to us during a very stressful time. Dr. Sheahan was incredibly thorough, compassionate, and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain every step of Ace's condition, treatment options, and what we could expect moving forward. I don't leave many reviews, but I just had to share my experience at this clinic. From the moment I walked in, the staff was very courteous, welcoming, and professional. They made the entire visit feel comfortable and organized, which really helped ease my concerns. Dr. Sheahan was excellent to say the least. She was very detailed during the exam and explained everything clearly so I could fully understand what was going on with my cat's eye. I had like a thousand questions and almost felt bad for asking them, but she never made me feel like I was being a bother. The level of care and her passion for both the animals and the owners is very obvious. 10/10 recommend for anyone needing specialized eye care for their pets! read more

Dr.Sheahan and all of her staff are amazing! I brought my cat Niko for some changes in one his eyes. He is typically very shy at that vet, but Dr.Sheahan and her team were so great and patient with him. She did an amazing job of explaining to me what was going on every step of the way, and providing me and my partner with information on how to give my cat meds and things to read and what's going on with his eye. Had a great experience here with our super senior pomeranian. Everyone here is so nice and Dr. Chang is great with dogs, really calm and good energy. Our pomeranian had gunk oozing out of his eye and they were able to see him right away and turns out he has an ulcer in his eye. A week of plasma serum and antibiotics and he's feeling much better! Thanks for being so patient w/ our little squirmy worm! read more
