    Her horrible eye ulcer.

I had such an amazing experience here, they got me in ASAP! I went last year and never got to making this review because of how stressed out I was with my frenchies eye issues, but I cannot recommend this specialist enough. Dr. Munevar and his staff (amazing staff) listened to my concerns and reassured me everything was going to be fine, and that they were going to do everything they could for my Meeka and they did! She had a very very horrible eye ulcer that was perfectly fixed with the help of VEIU! Thank you guys again. Do not hesitate coming here! It's rare to find a vet who actually cares!

Cooper's right eye post-op, two weeks later, healing nicely!

If your dog or cat needs expert eye care, this is the place. Dr. Munevar and the team at the Veterinary Eye Institute in Upland are compassionate, professional, and deeply knowledgeable. Our 13-year-old dog was rapidly losing vision due to a progressing corneal ulcer. Dr. Munevar clearly explained our options and outcomes - no pressure, just empathy and clarity. He understood our concerns and helped us make an informed decision based on our dog's age and quality of life. The surgical procedure wasn't cheap, but the care was exceptional. From pre-op to post-op, every staff member went above and beyond. Our dog is now pain-free and happy, and we're incredibly grateful. Tip from experience: Don't bargain-shop for specialized veterinary care. You'll spend more in the long run. Here, you get what you pay for - and then some.

    Jovie post surgery.

I really appreciate this office. Not only is the doctor wonderful, but all staff treat you with respect and are super helpful. It is a busy but well run office and we are seen in the most efficient manner. Dr. Calvarese is kind and very knowledgeable. My dog had cataract surgery there and very good follow up. I always felt like we were in good hands. If you need an eye specialist for your pup, don't hesitate to see Dr. Calvarese. It's by no means cheap but worth every penny to get your pup the best care.

My 13.6 month old fur baby (yes he is my baby) was referred here by the emergency vet (Mar Queen) when he couldn't open his right eye, kept whimpering, was low energy and lethargic and had a head tilt. I didn't know I was blessed to have a specialist so close to us. They were able to squeeze us in fairly quickly. Once in, the staff and the doctor were all so amazing and kind. Dr. Calvarese is an awesome vet and very capable. She told us Shibas are very prone to glaucomas and started us on a regiment to see if conservative methods would help his affected eye. A couple of days later my baby was acting like himself again. His eye is still cloudy, but he has a pressure check tomorrow. We will probably have to get his eyes pressure checked often since he does have glaucoma. Due to the high degree of quality care from here, we were able to help my dog get comfortable and be pain free. Dr. Calvarese even wrote a prescription to get three bottles of his meds and told us where to go to help lower the costs, and I thought that was pretty thoughtful of her. Anyone with pets who have eye conditions, come here. This doctor also treated my MIL's pug and performed his surgery and she had nothing but good things to say as well.

The employees here were so welcoming to us humans.... And our pets. Every single employee treated our dog with love. It really warmed my heart to be at a place that gave so much love to each pet. Excellent care for our Cane Corso that has extreme dry eye. They helped us through a very scary situation and in the end he did not require surgery. They showed me how to go about putting the ointment in his eye as with the liquid drops he would squint so tight I had to have help. They showed me how to manipulate him so I could put the ointment in and even on my own. Drogo is 95 lbs so if he doesn't want it done it's a real hassle. I was able for the last month to put on my own ointment in his eye 2 times a day. I am so thankful for this help. The best part is he will not require surgery. He will require lifetime eye hydration, so very thankful to every employee we can in contact with that made us feel welcome and without a doubt how much they cared. Thank you!

This is before, and after within two months the healing I highly recommend beyond highly hundred stars

I cannot explain how satisfied I am after going to other veterinarian offices for my blind and deaf Great Dane , who had a severe eczema around her eyes where they were closing shut from a rash like constantly itching, very uncomfortable and being given different creams to heal it and spending so much money and then finally hearing about Upland Eye Institute were in less than two weeks. Everything cleared up on her face. I am so pleased with these people and their staff their service friendliness explaining everything. I wish they would be a full-time doctor for my dogs

    Grateful boy!

Dr Calvarese and team are incredibly patient with my challenging shepard and welcome us with compassion, dedication, and expertise. I feel heard and Maverick's issues are throughly addressed.

She correctly diagnosed my dog Max's issue, which my previous vet misdiagnosed. She then successfully performed surgery on Max, being very careful with the sedation because of his advanced age, but simultaneously throughly and completely treating my dog. On top of that, she spent time with us to make sure that we understood what was happening and how to follow up with Max's care at home. You can tell she really loves animals and has a heart for people. We even found out that Dr. Graham stayed almost 3 hours late to help us, after having a very challenging day with her other patients. I also really appreciate the rest of the staff here, who helped me get Max into the facility (he's heavy!), and who were both professional and kind. As above, I wish I would have come here first. Don't waste time and money going somewhere else that may misdiagnose your dog, like what happened to me. I highly recommend that you come here first, too!

Please read this before coming here. I brought my very sick senior yorkie in yesterday morning…read morearound 10 am since we were referred here by another EMERGENCY hospital that was not equipped for an ultrasound which was what my baby needed. We didn't get vitals until an hour later and then once we're in a room an hour after that to talk to a dr we waited for another 2 hours and then the dr tells us they'll go ahead and do the ultrasound and said it will be done anytime before 6pm because we were a "walk in" THIS WAS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION and my dog was actively dying!! Mind you we got there at 10 and the whole time his gallbladder was ruptured and leaking and there was no sense of urgency at all. Not to mention the doctors attitude was so cold and casual I believe her name was Zamora. Once the ultrasound was done around 3/4 pm we waited and waited and waited still for them to talk to us about the results probably over another hour or two we were waiting all for Zamora to come in very causally once again and say his gallbladder is the cause of all this and it has mucocele which is causing inflammation and he needs surgery. She just came in, opened her laptop and told us the findings. She didn't even SHOW us the ultrasounds or go in depth like every other place I've been to. You would think for $1,900 they would do that but no all they care about is the money and it shows. After she told us the news I say when are you doing the surgery and she responds "right now I'm holding the surgeon here" and then quotes us 17k minimum and 20k maximum for this surgery and hospitalization. So we're over here panicking and stressing because he's actively dying and they're trying to rob us and on top of that giving him a 50/50 chance of survival. Me and my mom were in panic trying to find another way another place to just save my dog since this is just not realistic for an average person but they seem to think otherwise. Anyway we asked if we could have a moment to discuss and make phone calls and throughout this whole time suddenly they were readily available and not busy and kept coming in to the room asking if we've made a decision yet and then at one point come in to say "so you're not doing surgery then? So I can send the surgeon away" how could they say that when all they had done all day was making us wait and suddenly it's urgent only when it comes to getting money!! And every time I asked a question regarding his rupture and gallbladder the lady kept saying "let me ask" "let me check" because the doctor that was just there had already disappeared!! We ended up making a phone call to an amazing vet hospital in Tijuana called "hospital de Mascotas SAJI" we called them and they said to bring him in as soon as we could so we got our baby back from this place and declined the surgery which they did not look too happy about. On the way to TJ, the vets over there were asking for all his lab work in order to be prepared for his surgery and when I called marqueen for his records and ultrasound results to be emailed to me they took over an hour and I had to call 3 times! said the doctor needs to sign off even though we were just there and we're entitled to our records. We made our way to Tijuana Mexico where they did a quick ultrasound that took minutes as soon as we got there and then proceeded with surgery. Unfortunately our baby didn't make it I only wish I would have come to this place in Mexico sooner. If only MarQueen treated this as an emergency as it was after all it's in their name and did tests sooner perhaps we could have gotten him to his surgery sooner and he would have had more of a chance since he was too far gone by the time the whole day of waiting around has passed. To everyone reading this I suggest you find a vet in Mexico or go to this one for a pet emergency or even any need. They care so much more about your pet for not even a fraction of the cost and on top of that they were COMPASSIONATE. I was also quoted $1,800 in Mexico for the same surgery, medication and hospitalization if my baby had pulled through.

None could find anything other than a plugged tear duct. Benny finally got so dehydrated that I brought him to the emergency room at Inland Valley Veterinary Specialists. The doctor there that night, Dr. Jeffrey Patlogar, examined him and immediately suspected a tumor behind the left eye. He recommended an ophthalmologist, who ordered a CT scan, which indeed showed the tumor. Dr. Patlogar knew it was most likely a lymphoma, and started prednisone and L-asparaginase while waiting for an oncologist to see Benny. The oncologist concurred completely with Dr. Patlogar's assessment and treatment. Because of his timely decisions, Benny survived long enough to get radiation therapy. He has been back to his old self since. I am amazed at, and very grateful for, Dr. Patlogar's clinical expertise. He basically saved Benny. Furthermore, everyone at IVVS from the receptionists to the nurses consistently showed compassion and attention to my cat and me. After calling four local veterinary clinics, two with we have done extensive business in the past, Dr. Hah, Angel's Care Animal Hospital, was the only out of four calls we made at 8am yesterday to welcome us to bring our cat in immediately. Dr. Hah and his assistant saw us first thing when we arrived, only a few minutes after calling. Dr. Hah's extensive experience and expertise became immediately apparent as he examined and treated our cat's damaged and infected eye. Within 30 minutes, our cat was starting to experience relief and we left with a solid treatment plan. Dr. Hah has 50 years experience practicing veterinary medicine and has operated Angel's Care since 1990. On top of that, he called us the next morning at 8:30 to follow up on our cat's condition. The contrast between Dr. Hah and the other three clinics we called could not be more striking. The other clinics showed absolutely no concern for the welfare of our cat and simply stated that the "soonest available" would be days away, or, in the case of the so-called emergency clinic, that we can come in and try our luck and that the wait would be at least two hours. I know from my own medical experience that eye injuries are extremely urgent and serious. Everytime I have had eye issues, my health care provider calls me in to be seen the same day. Listed here are the veterinary clinics who demonstrated that they could clearly care less about the health and well-being of our cat: ARCHIBALD PET HOSPITAL, UPLAND ANIMAL HOSPITAL and MARQUEEN PET EMERGENCY AND SPECIALTY. I cannot commend Dr. Hah and his staff enough for providing such a caring, responsive and expert medical practice.
