Tape Conversions are their specialty and I would agree. They completely transferred 80 Hi8 tapes for me at the best price I could find in the Valley and LA. Chris has been great. The whole process is really easy too. So when you go to drop off the tapes, try to find street parking then go to the top floor of the building. The receptionist will have you fill out a form and hold your tapes then Chris will pick them up and contact you. He contacted me via text which makes it super easy to communicate with him. I had 12 tapes to transfer and it took about a week. Payment is via PayPal and i got my tapes uploaded in digital format so I could easily download them at home. If you're thinking about transferring old tapes do it before it's too late! And prices are very reasonable. read more

With more than 30 VHS tapes to convert to DVD, some of which were 25+ years old I didn't want to pack and ship everything to one of those big companies that dominate the advertising of this service on the Internet. I also didn't want to work with someone local, just because they were local. The solution to my concerns was VHS Rescue. I talked to two other SFV and Conejo Valley area based companies that provide video transfer services before I found Chris @ VHS-R. I chose Chris because after we talked I had a level of trust with Chris and I found the process was easy, I dropped off my videos at his office eliminating the shipping costs more importantly to me eliminating the potential for the loss of the irreplaceable memories on 30 + tapes. The good news is I was not disappointed in my decision to use VHS-R. I found someone that was knowledgable, helpful and professional. Chris is absolutely amazing and fast! Drop off is super easy, the front desk ladies at the office take the tapes and you just fill out a form and leave it there. I had contacted Chris prior to drop off on Yelp so I let him know when the tapes were ready for him to pick up (the location is a drop off/pick up point). After my local camera shop closed (they did my previous videos) I went with Chris of VHS Rescue based on Yelp reviews and handed over 3 reels of 8 mm film shot by my father-in-law of my wife and her sisters when they were kids 60 years ago. As I walked away I had a sudden sense of angst. Maybe I should have given him just one to see what happens but I shouldn't have worried. He sent me a text the next day that he had done one and it looked good and sent a sample frame over. He texted me the next day to tell me that the second was good too and he should be done by the next day. My office is a few blocks from the office so he even picked them up and dropped them off on his way in. The movies shot 60 years ago and kept for awhile in a hot garage transferred great. I've posted them to the cloud for my family to access anytime. Chris did an amazing job and let me know what was happening every step of the way. Next up are some videos that are not quite so old. I was relieved to get those old videos and these movies loaded on a DVD and loaded in the Cloud where they will preserved. You never know what can happen. We had an upstairs bathroom leak and flood our family room and kitchen - the videos we have could have been damaged but fortunately weren't. But now they're safe. read more

Came to this place, because I was tired of my parents talking about old home videos we had that we couldn't watch. I saw that this place was pretty close to me and had great reviews. I dumped a box of old cassettes, beta, and other kinds of video tapes to this place. They put a bunch on DVDs so my family can you watch these at home, and they also put a bunch on USB so I can back them up to my hard drive. The quality is good and my family is happy. I'd go back, but I'm all out of tapes. But at least I can write a Yelp review and tell other people that the service is worth it. read more

One of my most important VHS tapes was stuck together and Chris wasn't sure he would be able to salvage it, but he took it out of the case, spooled it to another case and was able to save it. Before digital came to be, this was my only option for videotaping my kids/family.
