9/6/24 poor experience today. I wanted pizza and the server said the guy who does the pizza had to go pick up his son. So the pizza might be impacted. I appreciated her honesty and she was a good server. I asked how the chicken parm was and she said it was delicious so I settled on a chicken parm sandwich. When I got it- it was burned. She explained that the bread crumbs get dark in the friar. I know the difference between dark and burned. She offered it to be re-made. It came out better but the chicken was tough, and flavorless. I'll never take my coal region pizza for granted. I was superbly disappointed tonight and there was also a very strong oregano taste that was unpleasant and over powering. The restaurant seems dated yet nostalgic. I personally won't rush to go back. If I did go back- I would stick with the pizza. Not sure if this was an off day but my friend did not enjoy her baked ziti- very strong unpleasant taste of oregano. I have to be honest in my reviews. I've had lots of great experiences but this was terrible. read more

This place is right next to Ollie's across from the Sunoco smoke shop, nice bar in here a little dark. Decent selection of beers on tap. The bartender is friendly. Food is always good here and packaged with care, bread is never soggy. Steak sandwiches are excellent. They always use fresh ingredients. So far so good. read more

Ordered through Uber eats at this place. They have a big selection of food to be honest. We ordered the 16 taco pizza. First of all, they did put a lot of toppings on it! The toppings include steak, cheddar cheese, tomato, and lettuce slices. The only thing we don't like is the sauce. We didn't taste any taco sauce. Instead, the main sauce is buffalo and there is a lot. So the pizza tastes really hot and sour... no really like a taco pizza... I've been a customer of Via Roma for years. The service is top-shelf: The food is always excellent. Their cheesesteaks, roast beef specials, and hoagies are, IMHO, the best in the area. Their pizzas are excellent. The pricing is commensurate with the quality of the food. I'm 70 and have eaten in Philadelphia-area steak shops for well over 50 years. I can honestly say that I can't recall any other establishment that makes their food better so consistently. The atmosphere is cozy and the bar is well stocked. If you are in the area...or even if you aren't....make the trip to Via Roma. You'll be glad you did. read more

The guy who makes the pizza is one of the best pizza makers ever. This place has a downfall tho I went in for the "lunch special" 8.99 cheese steak Instead of the regular price $10.50 I was told I have to eat it there to get the special Makes no sense. Probably costs more for via Roma to have me eat there. Meanwhile this isn't written anywhere Shame I asked if they could break that and just give it to me to go lol I was told no I have to eat it there to save $1.50 They ended up letting a customer walk over $1.50. Left a sour taste in my mouth now I won't be back for a long time. Just sad to see I eat there frequent now I will not. read more

Awesome, awesome, and more awesome. On a whim, we picked up takeout from Via Roma Pizzeria. Picked up a large pizza, cheese fries, and wings. And oh my goodness! This place is delicious. The wings are your traditional pizzeria wings yet they are perfect. Crispy, saucy, and the flavor is great. The pizza is that perfect amount of cheese, sauce, and crust. The fries are also great. And the cheese was the kind of cheap nacho cheese in a cup (which I actually love) Prices are outstanding. I love a good deal on great food. It's hard to find prices that low for pizza nowadays. We spent about 20 bucks for a great amount of food. Couldn't be happier! We will be back :) read more

So grateful for Via Roma this morning!! My daughter & I were craving pizza for lunch. Unfortunately, her virtual school schedule allots 10:45 -11:15 for her lunch time. So, most pizza places are just opening. I called over to Via Roma before their posted operating hours and once I'd explained my situation they offered to turn on their ovens early for us! How the mighty have fallen. Giuseppe sold this place and it's been downhill ever since. Their pizza is decent - beyond that, they altered the recipes for all of the other items on their menu, and in some cases they flat out ruined them. Seriously. It takes a pretty bad eatery to mess up chicken noodle soup, but congratulations, guys, smashing success. It's truly heartbreaking to see a place like this that's been in business for decades swirl down the drain such as this. And advertising cheap beer isn't going to help. Go to Tosco's instead. There's a reason why they have a full parking lot on a Monday and Via Roma is dead on a Friday night. read more

Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name- that's when we come to Via Roma. We frequently eat here and have brought various friends and family members along. It doesn't look like much from the outside but they have yet to let us down. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and there's always something new on tap to try if you're into different beer. You can tell their tap is cleaned regularly because I promise you've never had a Miller Lite or Bud Light so cold and crisp. After trying a lot of different items on the menu, here are my recommendations: spicy BBQ wings, buffalo chicken salad, chicken parm pizza, and the taco pizza (pictured). Even though the pizzas are loaded with toppings, the crust is still crispy on the bottom and fully cooked which is a delicate balance that's hard to find. This is also great spot to watch sports since it's easy to hear and with all the TVs, there's really not a bad seat in the place. The bartenders provide amazing service and will make sure your drink is never empty. You really can't go wrong here if you're looking for casual dining or take-out. read more

This is great Italian restaurant in the suburbs of Philly. The owners are very nice and the staff is courteous and nice. The food is awesome. From the Chicken & Broccoli Fettuccine Alfredo to a Chef's Salad, you never leave Via Roma without a full stomach. Friday night's are great at Via Roma too. There's a great karaoke team - Flash Entertainment, that keeps the place hopping. It's actually a lot of fun for a Friday night. read more

Via Roma is a nice little Italian/Pizza/Sandwich joint. They have great cheesesteaks. I've used it mainly as a takeout spot, but the one time I ate in the service was good. Any place that uses Conshy Bakery rolls earns points in my book, no soggy floppy rolls on the sandwiches here. Pizza is good, but not my favorite in the area. The attached bar is nicer on the inside than it looks from the outside, and the few times I've gone there for a few drinks the wait staff was great. read more

Via Roma has a solid New York style product. Their white pizza has a bit too much garlic for my taste, but their regular pizza is above average all around. If you're a male and go inside, wear a shirt with sleeves. They don't allow tank tops. read more

Great white pizza and pizza in general from this unassuming italian restaurant. I've been here a couple of times now and will definitely return again. Service was fairly quick and friendly plus the prices and food are good which makes this a great find for decent food that isn't the same old stuff (yes they do have a lot of the normal Italian restaurant dishes). Sandwiches are good and reasonably priced. The prime rib sandwich was very good but the one time it was kinda overly fatty, which can happen regardless of where you get any steak/beef dish especially prime rib dishes. I loved the onions and sauce that came with it and just ended up trimming the fat and putting the sandwich back together (It was kinda a hassle but it was worth it in the end). Every time I get food from here it is always nice and hot and seems fresh and is definitely some good food. I recommend this place if you are in the area. read more

Hadn't been to Via Roma for a while and was hungry for their pizza and breaded mushrooms. Pizza was fine, but the breaded mushroom portion size and quality were POOR. We used to get 15-20 mushrooms for 5 bucks, but a sad collection of 9 this visit. When I mentioned the issue with the waitress, she said "the menu states 10 mushrooms" but I didn't see that! Our favorite place to eat. We love the white pizza, chicken cheesesteak and fries the best. Staff is super friendly and treats you like family. They have games to play while you wait for your food, which is always fun. Live entertainment and karaoke events are always great to come hang out with friends. Haven't been back here in a while, went again, and realized why I hadn't come back in so long. My fiance and I went on a weeknight; place had a few tables, but certainly manageable by any waiter or waitress. Wasn't greeted and just ushered to our table in the confusing dining area. Mismatched Italy flare and sports posters all over. Ordered wings as an appetizer and two entrees, and both entrees came out before the appetizer! OK, it happens, but then you could clearly see the wings had been done and sitting under a lamp for a while. My clams over linguine was saturated in olive oil and butter. My fiance's raviolis were prepackaged/frozen and not fresh -- with a very runny tomato sauce. Topped off by seeing our waitress (mother or grandmother) of someone who works there, playing with her grand kids, and eating dinner at a table close to the kitchen! Congrats -- this is the first place i've ever walked out of not leaving a tip. read more

Via Roma is so much more than your average pizza place- although the pizza is awesome. They have a free poker night Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00pm and may I highly recommend. I have ordered several other dishes here and everything is great- I highly recommend the Chicken Marsala. This place isn't anything extra fancy but does have great food and servers- there is a bar on one side and an eat in side behind where you can also take out pizza. read more

I called Via Roma because I heard they're good. I was hoping to order a couple of pizzas but instead of pizza I got a lot of inexplicable and inexcusable attitude. I was interrupted more than once and I got curt responses to all my questions. The call ended shortly after the surly employee gave me attitude for asking what toppings come with a particular pizza. They may have the best pizza in the area but I'll never know because they have the worst customer service in the area. read more

First, I have lived in the area for a while and always get Via Roma probably once or twice a week. The first problem was ordering a chicken cheese steak and THREE times it was a beef cheese steak! How hard is it to make sure the order slip matches the food you give your customers!! The fourth mistake was a coupon that says 3 sandwiches for $16.99! I went in to get my sandwiches a meatball sub, and two cheese steaks to have them tell me that the coupon only works for 3 hoagies or 3 cheese steaks. There was no fine print anywhere on the coupon saying this deal and being a loyal customer it was very rude that they did not honor it. Flash forward to last night.. my boyfriend calls to order the sandwich deal ( we are desperate no other decent food in the area) and the guy knowing my name comes up on the screen for the phone number says oh... you mean the expired coupon? Umm... excuse me sir you are the manager of the restaurant and YOU have a stack of expired coupons on your counter but your saying they are not usable! Excuse me... is that not a little contradictory. Then he gives us attitude for changing one of the cheese steaks from beef to chicken. Fast forward to pick up... my bf goes in everything is smooth... gets home and guess what ?? the chix cheese steak is beef instead!!!! Anyways... after a very angry phone call WE WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN!!!! The managers response was everyone makes mistakes... okay sir but you are a hypocrite!! You are allowed to do whatever you want, treat customers with no respect.... but when you make a mistake it's ok.... BOTTOM LINE... I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST. BTW the managers name is CHRIS! SHORT GUY WITH a sleeve and probably the worst manager I've ever encountered. It's appalling how people treat customers these days..... Also the cheese steak was dry with a little bit of cheese and a soggy bun.... THINK twice before you order from VIA ROMA....
