Food here is pretty solid but like many places prices have went up due to "COVID" They take reservations now which is nice. The menu has changed some but the food is still high quality and the garlic rolls are the best especially when they are hot and fresh. Service is sometimes slow but last two times I have went service has been good as well. read more

Take out review! I finally had a chance to check out From The Boot. Unfortunately, the world was on COVID-19 lockdown, so I had to settle for takeout. In spite of this limitation, I was overall satisfied with my meal. We got the Gnocchi in Vodka sauce and the Ravioli Sicillano (which was also in vodka sauce). The gnocchi are made fresh and so so soft and tasty. The ravioli was fairly stuffed, however, I would have liked more lobster as the lobster/cheese ratio was unbalanced towards the cheese side. The vodka sauce is very good! Portions were fair and our order came with garlic bread to boot! Again, take out only this go around, so my review is limited. I will be back... hopefully in person once we put all this behind us. read more

I was in the mood for pasta and was thinking about going to TDoris but kinda wanted something different and remembered The Boot was right by our house. My husband and his parents used to order from The Boot all the time and said it was good. I only ever had sandwich or maybe 1 other thing from here before but didn't really remember it that much. I ordered the chicken Alfredo. Portions were smaller than TDoris but it definitely tasted better. The Alfredo sauce was thick, creamy, had some pepper and good flavor. The chicken was fresh, grilled and moist. Didn't have the processed taste that some places have. The garlic knots were very tasty also. My husband's veal was very good as well. Both entrees were a little on the salty side, but it has good flavor it didn't bother me as much. Will definitely come back when we want to get take out and I'm craving Italian again. read more

We have been Customers here for several years. Food is always fresh and delicious. Our waiter Dom is always very kind and polite. Great service food is always consistent. We went recently for Lunch and had the Half Sandwich and House salads. I had the Chicken Italiano with fresh broccoli rabe and Provolone is delicious. My boyfriend also had the Chicken Italiano with a side of red gravy. We also ordered a Quattro Formagio Pizza to go. It is absolutely delicious! read more

Always a great meal ! I have my favorites and I will say for an appetizer you have to try the stuffed mushrooms in a cream sherry sauce. I also always get the fillet Marcella, which is usually a special, but even if they don't have it on the menu, they will make it. This place has gone downhill. We used to come here on special occasions. We came last night and won't again. -seated -between 5 and 10 mins to waitress -restaurant had maybe 20 people in it -took orders -literally a sandwich, sides of soup/meatballs/broccoli -work in a foodservice environment, these take 20-25 TOPS, soup should be brought out right away -soup at 25min mark -garlic bread knots which other tables got around 5 mins in came at 30 min -sandwich came at 48-50 mins Waitress suffering from RBF. Will not be going back. Cold food and bad service. I thought we would try this place for pickup since we do like the one in Lafayette Hill but the Blue Bell one is closer. Mistake. Website says lower prices if you call for takeout rather than ordering online. Wrong. Maybe if you pay cash only. Said 25-30min to pickup. Totally fine. Show up on time and no one is at the carryout spot where the hostess would be. I wait about 5 minutes before walking back to get the attention of someone. They ask if I'm there for takeout, I say yes and give them my name. Go and wait again at least another 5 minutes. Someone else waiting for takeout went back to get help. The staff finally came over, looked at me and said oh sorry what's your name? Gave him a glare and said my name AGAIN. The place wasn't busy, didn't have many diners. Finally got my food and paid with a credit card and their fee for using a credit card. Short drive home and dished the food out. Everything was luke warm at best. Some bites were cold. The garlic knots were stale, overcooked and cold. Not worth the $50+ I paid for two dishes. read more

First, the positive. Our waitress was very friendly and restaurant was clean. However, food did not come out at the same time with a ten minute wait between first and last arrival. Awkward to see food getting cool while we waited. Pasta dishes were just ok. My dish had chicken that was dry and overcooked; sun-dried tomatoes overwhelmed the dish. We had a party of seven and I noticed that everyone left at least half on their plate and no one asked for a container to take anything home. The restaurant was 25% full at 7pm on a Friday night and the empty tables are a direct reflection of the quality of the food. This location needs management attention in the kitchen; the experience did not meet our experience at the original location. read more

Food is just ok here...but like every other restaurant they have made their portions smaller and raised their prices..ok I'll deal with that...but what really irks me is they now charge a service charge if you pay by credit card...that means they don't want to pay the fee they are charged from the credit card compamy so they are passing it on to the customer..REALLY??? read more

Held a rehearsal dinner at From the Boot Blue Bell recently and the restaurant did a great job. You can choose from buffet-style or limited menu for your guests. I was able to provide alcohol, which saved on the cost. The service was great, and everything came off without a hitch. read more

I grew up with an Italian grandmother so I'm pretttty picky about my veal dishes. AND you can hardly ever find really good veal anymore. Well, if you feel as I do about veal, don't hesitate to dine at From the Boot in Ambler. I went out with family over Thanksgiving weekend and ordered the Veal Francese. It really was done perfectly. Lean, juicy veal - Delicately breaded, sauted in a tasty hint of lemon and white wine. Light and delicious. It is served with yummy roasted potatoes, but they don't mind at all if you want to substitute a side of pasta or vegetable. I also had a taste of the gnocchi with Sunday gravy, which was incredibly light and delicious as well. It comes in a bowl with lots of meat and ricotta. Amazing dish for a hearty appetite! The complimentary bread basket was a big hit with our group. It appeared to be freshly baked. Overall, an excellent dining experience! read more

The complimentary garlic bread is really good! For food, I had the rigatoni and steak with the creamy masala sauce, it was really good and filling! My friend had the filet, and it looked AMAZING. She said it was the best steak she's ever had. I wanted the cheesecake for desert, but they were all out apparently all the deserts are made fresh in house! Celebrated our anniversary here, and we had a very nice time. This location does not take reservations, so we came in later in the evening to avoid a wait. There's some bar seating (weird, as they're BYOB) and mostly table seating, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. We were seated right away and started off with amazing garlic rolls and easily the best caesar salad that I've ever had. I ordered the linguine with tomato sauce, which tasted great although maybe the sauce was a tiny bit sweet for my preference. My boyfriend ordered the Piccata with the lemon butter sauce, and it was really good. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, especially with refilling our garlic rolls (have I mentioned how amazing they are?) We really enjoyed our dinner and I'm sure we'll be back- but I think I'll go with the vodka sauce next time. read more

Food is incredible! Definitely our go to! All the pizza is SO much less greasy than you would get anywhere else. The Caesar salad is probably the best ever and the wings get the garlic wings you won't regret it! I'm sure everything else on the menu is amazing too. I've driven by this place on numerous occasions and never even thought about eaten here. The other night, we were thinking about different places to eat, and decided why not From the Boot? What a great choice. There were four people in our party. We did not make a reservation, but apparently the Blue Bell location does not accept reservations. When we walked in, we were told that the wait time would be 35 minutes. We had the kids with us and considered leaving to go elsewhere, but decided it probably wouldn't be as long as stated. We were right. We only waited for roughly seven minutes. We arrived at just the right time. Our waitress Doris was really nice. She told us about the special of the night, which was a seafood linguine with spinach, tomatoes, scallops, jumbo lump crab meat (the real stuff; not the imitation nonsense) and shrimp in a vodka sauce. We were sold. I didn't even look at the menu at that point. We ordered 8 inch pizzas for the kids. Before our food arrived, we had garlic bread/knots fresh out of the oven. They were delicious. When the main course arrived, the serving size was much larger than I anticipated. The pan seared scallops were so good. In fact, everything in the dish was delicious. I could not finish it all and decided to save some for lunch the next day. In fact, I'm eating the leftovers as I'm writing this review and it tastes just as good. The kids enjoyed their pizza. We didn't get anything exotic for them. They have a nice selection of pizzas on the menu and I'd like to try them all. One of the best lunch spots in the area, From the Boot is a step-up from your typical lunch spot but still casual enough for a group of friends. I'm always on the lookout for lunch spots while wasting away in an industrial park in Blue Bell, and I'm really happy I found From the the Boot. In the strip mall next to Pudges, inside you'll find an inviting little restaurant with a large wood fire grill and some table. The place is BYOB, so if you're into drinking at lunch you'll have to bring your own. From the Boot has one of the better lunch specials in the area. The Express Lunch (around $10) includes a drink, soup/salad, and your choice of a large personal pan pizza or hot sandwich. I opted for the Italian Wedding soup and the Bianco pizza (Mozzarella, Roast Garlic, Ricotta, Romano, and Oregano). The meal started with complimentary garlic knots, a nice touch. The Italian Wedding Soup was fantastic with the rich broth and juicy meatballs (oh the meatballs), I'd order that again by itself. The personal pan pizza was at least 12" in diameter, and while it was thin crust it was very filling. The Bianco had perfectly melted mozzarella, a touch of roasted garlic, and a healthy heaping of melt-in-your-mouth Ricotta. My only complaint was the extremely slow service - most people only get an hour for lunch or less, an we were all a little late getting back to the office. Overall, From the Boot is a great change of pace from your usual lunch spot. Come early and order the Express Lunch and you'll have a great lunch. read more

Not good at all. Mediocre service. Hard as nails garlic slop knots. 7 bucks for caesars salads that had a fraction of a top of dressing on them. All entrees were served in a pile of watery liquid, albeit hot. Everything was very salty and mediocre at best. They charge a 4.50 service fee on credit cards and added a 20 percent gratuity for a party of 4. Brought our own wine. 4 salads plus 4 entrees..180 bucks at this crapshack. The food is cooked by unskilled labor that dosent speak English and the servers, although friendly, should not be servers since they don't know what they are doing. I avoided this place forever. Looks like that now continues. If they cut the prices in half It's way overpriced. Never again read more

After several bad experiences here, I will not be back. The first time I tried From the Boot I ordered eggplant parm from their take-out menu. The eggplant was drowning in cheese, and the side of spaghetti was bland and lacking in sauce. Gross! However, I decided to give the restaurant another try, thinking that I just caught the chefs on a bad day. The next time, I ate at the restaurant and ordered the Tortaloni Tomasso. The huge plate that my meal was served on contained FOUR tortaloni and probably 2-3 whole cups of sauce. Horrible. This was disappointing, considering the dishes that were served to other tables looked very appetizing. I would try From the Boot again, but the prices are too high to waste another meal. The only reason From the Boot doesn't receive one star is our waitress, who was very sweet and accommodating. read more

This place is seriously amazing. They've got a $10 lunch special where you can get a soup or salad and a 1/2 sandwich or 8 inch pizza. I went with the Caesar salad and Margherita pizza and it was superb. Salad was fresh and had the perfect amount of dressing. The pizza was hot and delicious. The service was also great, with absolutely no complaints there. What stood out to me were those rolls covered in butter, olive oil, cheese, and I'm not sure what else but I seriously could've eaten those all day. Highly recommend! read more
