The Service The service was second to none - truly an amazing, friendly staff that made the experience special. The atmosphere is relaxed and a great spot for a small group gathering. The food was decent overall. I tried the shrimp scampi, and while it wasn't quite my favorite, it was still enjoyable. The outstanding service and welcoming environment are what really stood out!

Lovely Italian spot! The atmosphere was delightful and cozy. I really enjoyed the patio seating which was well shaded. Happy hour menu was perfectly tasty and well portioned. The chicken parm was a great highlight and I plan to come back for it. Staff was friendly and the owner even stopped in to check how we were doing.

Wow-first time coming here and we were all blown away from this top-notch restaurant! Came in for Easter and the Happy Hour Menu offerings had a good variety for food and drinks. Our Server Madi was so professional, courteous, super-friendly and efficient. We picked out some cocktails and almost everything off the Happy Hour Menu-everything was well-prepared, great temperature and super-delicious!! Definitely will be coming back!

    Eggplant parm & Aperol Spritz
    Judy R.

The food was very good, and we enjoyed the eggplant parm with red sauce and garlic sauce on the pasta. The pizza was good, and the sausage had a hint of spiciness. The water bottle was on the table, which was a nice convenience. The appetizer of crisp artichoke hearts was delicious, and the Aperol Spritz was perfectly made. The service was wonderful, and the staff was attentive and very friendly. Parking is easy in the lot right in front. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for conversation with your dining party.

    Blu Mays Birthday celebration

The other day in celebration of Blu's birthday she wanted to try this Italian restaurant in an inconspicuous location of all places. We ensured to get there for happy hour which is 3-6 pm. They have a small happy hour menu but it had what I wanted. 12" pepperoni pizza and you can also purchase a bottle of wine for $18.00. Blu had the bolognese and it looked great and the small piece i had tasted great as well. Blu was impressed as well. It can get busy so reservations are recommended. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Best of all they give military discounts.

Immediate 5 stars, and if I'm staying nearby again I'll be back. Everyone is working very hard. Drink prices are reasonable. The food, savory and rich but not a complete gut bomb. Not too heavy. Wide menu. A lot of house made stuff. Come hungry.

    Apparently 6$ worth of chicken

So expensive for such mediocre food. Ordered for take out and spent 22$ on a salad. Got grilled chicken which was served on the side, tiny portion no seasoning or flavor. Ordered two different salad dressings (the extra one for 1.25$!) and was sent with two identical ones. For a large salad one would not have been enough. My husband ordered pasta with salmon, also not an impressive portion or flavor. Salmon was burned. 60$ later, we ate, and we'll never go back.

    Shrimp Scampi

We went here on a Sunday night at 7pm. Initially I questioned why we'd made a reservation as it was pretty dead, however, around 730ish, people started piling in. We started with the arancini which was very tasty! We then got the chicken piccata and shrimp scampi, the shrimp scampi was delicious but unfortunately the chicken piccata was a bit of a letdown as there was basically no lemon flavoring which is a crucial element. For my birthday they surprised me with a caramel cheesecake that was so good! Our server was great!

Lobster claw with ricotta ravioli in broth
    Malissa P.

I arrived solo at around 6:30 and was seated immediately. The service was timely, and both my waitress and the hostess were lovely. The interior is modern with a bar. The mozzarella & basil arancini $13 was very different from a classic suppli style arancini, but it was a delicious twist. The "lobster ravioli" $27 is a soup dish consisting of a tough lobster claw atop a bed of ricotta ravioli that do not actually contain lobster. This is supposed to be a vodka sauce, but was more similar to canned vegetable BROTH than vodka sauce.

The outdoor patio is spacious, relaxed, and perfect for enjoying Colorado's nice weather with friends or coworkers. We ordered a variety of shareable dishes, including the giant pretzel, loaded fries, fried pickles, hummus, wings, and grilled broccolini. My favorite was definitely the loaded fries--crispy, cheesy, topped with bacon and jalapeños, and packed with flavor. I'd happily order those again. The giant pretzel was great for sharing, and the hummus plate was a nice lighter option. The grilled broccolini was also surprisingly good. The only dish that didn't quite hit the mark for me was the wings. They had good flavor but were a little dry. Overall, the food was good, but nothing that really stood out as unforgettable. That said, the atmosphere is what makes this place worth visiting. It's the kind of spot I'd come back to for a sunny afternoon, drinks, and catching up with friends or coworkers. Great vibes, plenty of seating, and an easygoing environment.

Stop reading here if you like, the rest is a one-off and response. Let's be clear on Brian Bs review... I was sitting in the back corner of the room, the booth behind me had just vacated and the dishes had not yet been cleared. 2 women approached and I heard one wonder out loud to the other if they could sit there. I turned and let them know that the people had just left, so if they just scooted the dishes to the edge, I'm sure it was fine to sit. (and this was when I gestured in a "scoot the dishes forward" movement) At this time, a man (Brian, we now know) walked up and used the edge of his hand and smacked my arm down in a chopping motion. My partner notified the "door dude" and he immediately asked Brian to leave. Brain commented over his shoulder "oh, sorry if I offended you" to which I replied " you didn't offend me, you hit me" He then stood outside flipping off the place for a while before leaving. I appreciated the immediate action of the staff when I was intentionally hit by a man in their establishment.

A few moments later the door dude came to our table and told me to leave. I asked why. He said I laid hands on the woman. I asked if he wanted to hear my side of the story. He said no. We left and we left our drinks. Weird redneck good ol boy vibes. Avoid this toxic place. Go somewhere else. So many welcoming and inclusive bars on East Colfax. Gesture lady clearly the regular as I think back. As we left, a guy at her table waved "bye bye" and laughed with gesture lady. That's all I have to say about that. The Owl Saloon....hmmmmm? The indoor space is warm and inviting, with a mix of bar seating, mostly high-top tables, and a handful of larger tables that make it easy to gather with friends. The patio is equally great and always seems to have a fun mix of people enjoying the weather. It's one of those places where everyone feels welcome. Families with kids, dogs lounging by the tables, groups of friends catching up, couples on date night - it all works. If you're looking for a quieter experience, we've found that heading over later in the evening, around 8 pm, offers a more laid-back vibe while still feeling lively.
