I think I found my new go-to pizza takeout spot! I called an order in and was able to pick it up within 15 minutes of placing the order. Garlic bread - yikes. Must have had some bread laying around for a couple days and thew a few pieces in a piece of tin foil. Dry dry dry. Zero garlic, and a discoloration I assume was butter at one point. I've had croutons that were softer. Threw most in the trash and wrote this review. Dislike that bad food is more inspirational to writing reviews, but don't make our mistake. Update: Owner reached out personally and expressed their concern over our experience. I must say my experience was more than delightful. An awesome dinner. I had shrimp scampi over fettuccini. It was so light and delicious. Cans here for my birthday and had a great experience! Viale took the reservation for 8 just a day before which was greatly appreciated. The restaurant isn't particularly big but they accommodated our group. To start, some of us shared a bottle of wine, some got cocktails and other just water. The server was really easy going and quick. We shared the burrata thanks to other reviews and agree that it is so fresh and a great starter to dinner. I ordered the shrimp scampi which was tasty albeit the sauce a little too watery for me. My friends shared pizzas and ordered other pastas like the lasagna. We made a 6PM reservation on a Tuesday night and were seated immediately, Dayton, our waiter, was patient as we asked questions about menu items, and he was very attentive, even as the place filled up. The restaurant is LOUD; don't expect to have a quiet conversation. We ordered the eggplant parmesan, and I thought it was underwhelming. The eggplant was served hot but was very thin (maybe just two slices?), and some of it was a bit burnt on the edge. It was served on top of penne with a garlic cream sauce and marinara sauce. I asked for just the marinara sauce and was accommodated. The penne that was under the eggplant was hot and tasted good; the penne that was not under the eggplant was barely lukewarm. Would I return? The staff are incredibly friendly and the owner (female) is always bringing us some portion of our meal whether it's the appetizer or salad course and is so wonderful. We have never been disappointed by anything and like I said anyone's palette can be satisfied here. Overall everything is presented beautifully, and has depth of flavor making for many delicious bites without being too heavy like some Italian places that rely too much on cream. Some of our favorites are the burrata, Calamari, wedge and Spinach salads, the short rib, both rigatoni pastas and the chicken piccata. Well...I'm a little disappointed to be honest. After reading all the great yelp reviews, I was pretty stoked to try this place. the service was excellent, start to finish. The food however was just so so. My Caesar came out as 4 small leafs of romaine, which I hate. I love a good Caesar and especially when it's tossed. I'll be elated when these trendy eateries start going back to basics with certain things...like tossing the frigg'en caesar!! Lol. I think it's lazy and, trying to slice it up on a narrow plate makes it even more silly. It just doesn't make sense to me. The pie - well, it was just ok. The sauce is good and the pepperonis were also tasty but the crust was like a cracker. I love a good Neapolitan pie. Their pizza however is more like a cracker...just not my thang. Nice locally owned Italian restaurant near Colorado and Louisiana. On the weekends this place is packed and the good food and service clearly brings people back. We started with the mushroom and truffle Arancini. Those little "orange balls" were perfect fried. The rich and flavorful tomato sauce added bang to this rice ball dish. But what I loved more was the side of pesto, OMG! food crack I couldn't put down. The beet salad intrigued us as it layered on top of pecan butter. The sweetness of the beets, tang from the goat cheese and creaminess of the pecan butter made this dish work. Add the saltiness of the prosciutto and vinaigrette made this dish of our favorites of the night. The Heirloom pizza came out with a beautifully golden crust. The base had a beautifully floral olive oil, locally grown baby heirloom tomatoes bursting with flavor, layered over fresh burrata, spicy arugula and fresh basil. There is a hint of heat from chili flakes. I love pizza and could have eaten this one all by myself, but unfortunately had to share. Next time... one just for me! read more
