As if this dentist's reply to my review was not enough, he also had to send me a message acting like he was one of his patient's and it is a little evident when I see the message is sent with his own name. And here is his message: Vick K. has sent you a message on Yelp: Please Read "I don't know you, but I read your review and I think that you are a psychologically deranged person. Nothing you said made any sense and anyone with a bit of intelligence would realize that this dentist is very responsible and compassionate; he obviously brought in a specialist (that which you call an "oral surgeon") to take a second look at your problem. If two different doctors at that time, as well as the rest of the doctors you have been seeing over the past 12 years, told you that you are fine and there is nothing wrong, then that means there is nothing wrong. Clearly you do not hold a high enough degree with which you can trump their expertise." How intelligent of him to be speaking in third person and on top of that acting as someone else. He claims I am psychologically deranged but it seems that he has multiple personality disorder. The unprofessional nature of his response should prove his lack of respect for his clients. So to address this so called client who is writing to me I would like to reply: You don't know 1% of the bad experiences I endured for four years with this dentist; I can write a book about it. If you went through 10% of what I had to go through by trusting this dentist, I wonder the actions you would take against this him. And I don't think that I would need a high enough degree to be able to tell that he made a huge mistake, especially when I followed up with four other well known dentists and surgeons and they explained how this was a medical malpractice case. And the dental surgeon I saw overseas told me that he can't believe this kind of work the dentist Vick K. did on my mouth even occured in the United States. I've been going to Dr. Vick since I moved to California (about 10 years ago) and even though his office is completely out of my neighborhood I continue to drive there because it's totally worth it! Not only he makes you feel comfortable in a dentist chair which is already a lot for somebody who grew up in Russia, where Novocain was not always used (or worked?) but he did an excellent job with every cavity, root canal, implant or wisdom tooth he had to pull..I like the fact that he can do it all on his own and doesn't send you to different "specialists". I love Dr. Vick. I was going to a dentist who was not very good and little by little I was losing teeth as well as wearing some cumbersome bridges. My family doctor recommended Dr.Vick and going to him was one of the best decisions I made. I had lost so many teeth, I was chewing like a rabbit. On my upper jaw I had to get a bone graft as I had lost some bone, then I had implants put in on my upper and lower jaw as well as most of my remaining teeth capped. expensive (of course) worth it ( worth every penny). Not only that, Dr Vick is more than a dentist he is an artiste. My teeth are wonderful, they fit my mouth and the bite is superb. A friend of mine went to a cheaper dentist and the implants they put in were too big for her mouth and the bite was way off. I have never had any trouble with my implants. I have also never had any problems with the staff at Dr. Vicks, they are very kind and thoughtful. I'm sort of a pain wimp and they go out of their way to make sure I am comfortable. I've been having cleanings done here for a few years now. The staff is very friendly and generally on time. Recently, I had some oral surgery done by Dr Vick to correct issues created by a prior surgery (from another dentist). I was very happy with the quality of the work performed in correcting these issues. Cosmetically, the work was beautiful as well. Look - as with most places in LA, they're going to upsell you a bit here on the cosmetic stuff (whitening, etc). Overall, this is a quality office. I'd give it a full 5 stars but I had to fight a bit to get them to accept the service rates provided by my insurance. read more

I have been going to Dr Kargodorian for over 10 years, he is truly a very caring and gifted dentist. His work is top notch, his prices are very reasonable and he works with his patients so that they are able to get the work done that they need even if they can't really afford it all at once. I have recently had major dental work done, I am in the process of getting all my teeth crowned and/or veneered. They look amazing, people see my smile and their reaction is "WOW", but it doesn't look fake, it just looks very natural. In all the years that I've been going to him he has never raised his prices for me and often throws in extra work at little to no cost because i am a valued long term patient and he knows that i can't really afford to spend a fortune. He also does his very best to save my teeth and save me money by not doing unnecessary work; i just had 2 crowns done, the teeth were very very close to needing root canals but he spent a lot of time on them to save them from needing them and saving me $2000, most dentists would not have bothered, they would have told me i needed the root canals. I know a lot of people complain about timeliness, he does often run behind, however, its because of the attention to detail that he provides, he never rushes his patients. Also, people come in for a basic appointment and realize that they need more work done than expected, this takes time and people need to understand that. I went in for a cleaning 5 months ago, it had been a couple of years, and i ended up needing my top front 6 teeth crowned to save them from having root canals down the road, i was there for over 4 hours, of course that delayed other people, things happen. Bottom line, he does outstanding work at very reasonable fees and never does unnecessary work and he really spends time and attention to detail with all his patients and you feel like he is a trusted old friend. I used to work in Hollywood but i now work from home and I still keep him as my dentist, he is we'll work the drive, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my dental health!!! If you are looking for a great dentist Dr Vick is the guy!!..I neglected my teeth for far too long and needed extensive dental work on my upper and lower arches. I thought I was going to have to have all of my remaining teeth removed and get dentures. In fact I sought consultations from seven dentist prior to starting my procedure with Dr Vick. All I can say is that Dr Vick was the find of a lifetime!..I wish I had a pro like him for every aspect of my life....I'm serious!! Dr Vick has actually saved a bunch of my remaining teeth and has given me implants where I had teeth extracted when I was younger. I really couldn't be happier. Let me start by saying Having an understanding compassionate dentist is so important. Me personally will hold off (I know eww) if I don't have someone who is good at what they do but also understanding and compassionate. I Love love love coming here!!! The staff is super friendly and comforting. The doctor is amazing and has always helped. Recently I've had a wisdom tooth removed and then developed dry socket. I was in so much pain I called and they got me in at 530pm. So eternally grateful for that because the medicine the gave for the dry socket was instant relief. Every time I come in the wait is minimal, and I'm taken care of. Today I needed the stitches removed from my tooth extraction and brought my tween with me. Dr showed her how to use the suction tool and even let her suction my mouth while he was working. She loved it. he did good work on my root canal but was AT LEAST 20-40 mins late everytime. its as if his time is MUCH more important than ours. I too work and my time is valuable. and to disrespect so many people to have to wait till he rolls in. flat tire, traffic etc. after he 3rd visit and flat tire i walked out and never returned. he was a super nice guy but i just cant sit around waiting for a guy who clearly is on his own time. his whole staff knew and had nothing to say. in fact i heard them wisper about him and his tardiness, it wasnt pretty and i wont repeat it. but lets just say they ALL know how he is and it simply unprofessional. as a patient when you are late or miss we get charged 50-75$ fee, i asked the girls if he could pay for my hourly rate that i waited for him. of course there were no words. i have an amazing new dentist, professional and does great work! I recently got married so this is the dentist under my husband insurance. I haven't been to the dentist for years. I need to get some cavity fill and I know I need a deep cleaning so I made appt and advise the girl that's what I'm there for. The office is very nice, the lady that did my x-ray was very very nice. Dr. Kargodarian was nice but I was very turned off by my visit. I'm thinking he check teeth and then he'll let me know how many cavities I have and how many filling I need to be done. When he came into the exam room, he look at my x-ray, my mouth and the first thing he told me was how he can make my smile better and with minor surgery and veneers. He show me some before and after picture. Which is great and nice but that's not what I came to see him for. After he talked to me about making my smile better. He told me to see the front desk girl and she'll give me the pricing for everything to make my smile better. The front desk girl printed out the cost and it was over $14k. She explain to me the cost and care credit if i don't have the funds now. I smiled and decline the offer and was surprise to her what she said after I declined. she have to nerve to tell me " that fine if you don't care about how your teeth looks, we can just schedule you for a deep cleaning" I honestly want to punch her in the face when I heard that. I kept my composer, she schedule me for the deep cleaning. Just because your office is in hollywood, doesn't mean everybody that walk in that door is looking for a Julia Robert smile and is ready to pay $14k right away and when they decline, they get a rude ass comment from their worker. The Next day, I called our insurance up and change dentist. So if you're just looking to make your smile look like Julia Roberts and is ready to spend some $, then I would recommend this dentist. read more

Heres the deal. I am TERRIFIED of the Dentist. When I was a kid it was not an issue because my folks took me to a Great Dentist and that Dentist never introduced me to Dental Pain. Fast Forward 20 years and Im in some Discount Dental office on Vermont looking at Dental equipment that literally had TAPE holding it together and Im suppose to get my First Root Canal! I try not to think of this story because it was so Awful but I will say I felt EVERYTHING and it was a nightmare that scarred me and from then on, Gone were the days of my 6 month cleanings. I had been Lucky and other then missing cleanings, didnt have any Dental needs. Then, 4 months ago my Molar tooth literally Cracked in Half! At first it wasnt so bad. Food got stuck in it everytime I ate but I would just brush it out. My Best friend told me to go to the Dentist and I told him "NEVER!". But after 4 months it began to hurt...a lot. My Boss said "I have the perfect Dentist for you". I said "NO WAY!" but he told me to listen. He went on to tell me about growing up in Communist Czechoslovakia and how they use to go his Dental work without any Novocaine and told me he had a Dentist Phobia ever since. He explained that he found his way to Dr. Kargodorian and from then on, his fear was gone. Though Reluctant, I agreed to at least call. From the very first call I told the Receptionist that I was TERRIFIED of the Dentist and that I was only calling because my boss made me. She assured me that Dr. Kargodorian was superb and that I really should give him a chance. I made the appointment and went. I knew I would have to Man Up for a Crown as long as I didnt need any Root Canals! The Receptionist was Joanna and she said "Oh yes. I see you dont like the Dentist at ALL" which actually made me feel a tiny bit better. She smiled and said "You have nothing to worry about. I promise". Sweet but I was still TERRIFIED! Once in a Dental Chair I was greeted by a Beautiful Dental assistant named Julia. She was so calm and told me "You really dont have anything at all to be worried about. He is the very BEST". She took some X rays of this Gapping Hole in my tooth and it was cool because I got to see the X ray on a big TV right in front of me. Soon the Doctor came in and he was really friendly and right away told me that he knew I was afraid of the Dentist and that he promised tht I wouldnt feel any pain. He examined my tooth and found that I needed not 1 but 2 root canals and 2 crowns! He showed me in the X ray where the tooth right next to the broken one was decaying inside and it needed to be saved. I wont say how much it cost BUT I will say that he cut me an EXCELLENT deal since I was coming out of pocket. Then he gave me some Gas to breath and from there nothing really mattered anymore! He could have said "Now Im gonna pull out your Front teeth!" and I wouldnt have cared less! He talked to me through the entire procedure and I honestly felt NOTHING!!!! As in NOTHING!!!! 2 more appointments later and my teeth are like new and I never felt so much as a pinch! If youre like I was and are afraid of the Dentist, TRUST ME, this is the man to see! I'd give "Dr. Vick" five stars for his artistry, skill and professionalism alone, but those attributes wouldn't necessarily drive me to Yelp to leave a review. At my relatively advanced age and with all the moving I've done, I've been to my fair share of dentists over the years, most of whom have been commendable and recommendable, but what truly sets Dr. Vick apart relates to what happened recently. Following a terrible, debilitating motorcycle accident, I've had a difficult time finding regular work and when an eye-tooth veneer recently broke, I was desperate to replace it. I mean, who wants to go to a job interview with a broken tooth staring back at the interviewer? With nowhere near enough money to afford a replacement, my former dentist (I moved again) Dr. Vick, swooped in to the rescue and offered his services for free -- only charging me a minimal materials fee. I will be forever grateful for his generosity, something I've never really experienced before. And it doesn't hurt that the man is also an artist in dental reconstruction with a staff that is always very friendly and just as professional their employer. read more

Dr Kargodorian is the best dentist in town and an absolute miracle worker!! I had a "freak" running accident on a Saturday morning. I was running, tripped on a uneven curb, tried to block my face but my mouth hit the payment. It was a hard fall. I busted my upper lip and my front tooth was pushed back. My lip was so swollen, I couldn't close my mouth. It was painful and quite stressful since I had a very important event in three days. Keep in mind, this occurred on a Saturday when dentist offices are closed and it was Dr. Kargodorian's day off. I called Dr Kargodorian's cell and left a message, within minutes he called back. I was panicking but Dr. Kargodorian reassured me that he would take care of me. He kept his promise and drove from the Valley on his day off to meet me at his office. Within minutes, he repositioned my tooth. My tooth was straighten and looked back to normal. Dr Kargodorian was so compassionate and made sure I would be ready for my big event. He prescribed some medication and I saw him two days later for root canal. I heard that root canals were painful but not the one that Dr Kargodorian performed. I didn't not feel a thing! He promised and he was right! I was concerned that my mouth would be puffy the rest evenin but I attended my event with perfectly straighten teeth. I am so grateful for Dr. Kargodorian! Dr. Kargodarian has a super gentle hand and had a great understanding of my auto-immune related sensitivity issues. This is the first time that I haven't had any swelling, infection or complications status post the dreaded drill, and my mouth looks absolutely fantastic! 2016 makes 18 years that I've been a client of Vick Kargodorian's. & if you've read my first review on him & his staff you already know I am indeed a fan. The reason for the update is because over the last year & half I spent more $ on my teeth than probably the last 20 years combined. I've had at least 15 sessions if not more since my first & last review. 4 root canals , a cracked tooth , 6 crowns , 6 amalgam fillings finally removed , a couple cavities & then the cleaning. Oh I know - I did it allllllllll to myself by eating waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many sweets & yeah I paid for it obviously in more ways than one. But, as I sat in the chair those many times I noticed I'd usually come around to the thought of just how grateful I was to have such complete trust in my dentist. The 18 years kind of trust!! I'll just say that the guy is an absolute master at delivering Novocain injections - never even feel em - he hums ( in key ) calming melodies as he scrapes, chips & drills away. (ha!) True story! He has always been fair to me with pricing / payments & the ENTIRE staff in my experiences is worth appreciation & mention as well. When I got to Dr. K my teeth were in a horrible shape, I didn't think I could be helped besides removing them and getting removable dentures, not to mention the emotional pain that came with it.
