Being one of the only breakfast diners open in this area at the time we visited, I have to say that they handled it fairly well. However, I don't think they were ready for the quantity of people that would be coming there because the place across the street had closed for the day. It took us fairly long time to receive our breakfast after we had ordered. I got the regular breakfast. Two eggs. Two link sausage American fries. The American fries were pre-boiled and heated in a pan, no Browning was apparent. Obviously, they had to rush to make them. The place was as clean as it could be considering the rush, however, they were just wiping tables as people were walking in, it didn't seem like they had a bus boy that day. read more

What a charming little place. Located in a nondescript strip mall. Vicki's has a great menu, nice service and yummy food with generous portions. The wait was a little long, but I'll let that slide. A cute diner in a strip mall. Went a little past morning rush and had no wait. Food was simple and good. I had the all-american breakfast with eggs, hashbrowns and bacon. We are vacationing here from TN. Stopped at this place, and I ordered Eggs Benedict. It came to me swimming in greasy gloppy hollandaise sauce. Like completely covered the plate. I just stared at it when she brought it to me. She knew something was wrong but her only concern was if I wanted hot sauce. I ordered apple juice, she brought me orange juice. We were not very impressed. The staff was friendly. The diner is in a strip mall. Appears many locals visit this establishment. My husband had a Belgium Waffle and I had a egg taco. The waffle did have strawberries. Disappeared it was a sauce with limp strawberries. The fruit was not fresh. It made the waffle soggy. We were delighted to meet Vicki, and, yes, this is her family's restaurant. All the staff were welcoming and attentive. We felt like family. Our breakfast meals were well prepared and flavorful. My wife had the All American Breakfast. She loves American fries and was pleased that they were light and not greasy like so many other places. I had the Chorizo Taco special. The tortillas were nicely toasted and very light. The chorizo and egg filling had great flavor and was not at all greasy. All in all, the food preparation was top-notch. We'll be back. read more

My partner and I came to the Saugatuck/Douglas area for a weekend trip. We were looking for breakfast places and this place was listed in the top rated places in the area closes to where we were staying. We decided to give it a try. I ordered the Crow's Nest (which is 2 eggs on top of hashbrowns with cheese, and either toast or pancakes. I picked pancakes.) I also ordered a side of corn beef hash. and my partner ordered the Eggs Benedict. The food was amazing and it felt like comfort food. The place was welcoming and cozy. I felt comfortable there. The service was good. Cost: Crows Nest is $5.29, Side of Cornbeef $2.79 Eggs Benedict $6.99. Amazing prices for all the food. Overall: I will give this place 5 stars. Update: I went back to this place in February and got a eggs, bacon and pancakes. The pancakes were like greasy styrofoam, the eggs were over cooked and the bacon was slightly burnt. I can't even voice my disappointment after having such a good experience the first time I came here. The staff seemed less attentive and more interested with the "regulars" and it took longer for coffee warm ups. Sitting in the main dining area this time, I found the place to be a bit more run down and in need of general maintenance and cleaning. Due to this experience, I have to down rate my original review from 5 to 2 stars. I walked in and was pleasantly greeted by two of the waitresses and sat at the bar. It has the feel of a classic small town American diner, complete with regular patrons judging from the staff and customer interactions. Very warm and welcoming. My waitress checked in and got drinks to me quickly. When asked about recommendations, she was very helpful. The coffee here is really good. Both waitresses checked in with me multiple times asking if I'd like a warm up on my coffee. Awesomely attentive and personable staff! The eggs Benedict I ordered came out fast and was cooked to perfection. The hollandaise sauce was some of the best I've had (they make their own). This restaurant is great! We were in Saugatuck for a long weekend and saw reviews so we knew we needed to try it. The wait staff was kind and helpful. The food portions are generous! I was not able to finish my entire meal. Both my boyfriend and I got the Ted scramble with no mushrooms and it was incredible. We also both got biscuits which were also incredible. If you get a scramble, it may be worth it to split and get an extra biscuit. They are dinner plate huge! If you have an appetite for some great food, highly recommend! Really good overall experience for a late breakfast. I was immediately greeted when I first walked in. The server was exceptionally friendly and perfectly attentive (not too much and not too little.) Unpretentious and down to earth, Vicki's serves all the comfort-food classics with uncommon elan. The food here is special, because it is real. :: Breakfast: A spinach-feta omelette was prepared with quality cheese and fresh baby spinach. Sunnyside-up eggs arrived sunnyside up. Pancakes were light and fluffy. :: Lunch: The patty melt, which I consider to be the gold standard in calibrating a diner's bona fides, was perfectly executed with a hand-formed burger and the right balance of onions and Swiss cheese. It was accompanied (for a modest up-charge) by must-have, crunchy, melt-in-your-mouth, sweet-potato fries, which were served in a basket lined with a reproduction of the help-wanted section of a newspaper in Lancashire, England (see pic). The basket liner tickled my fancy as a former ink-stained kvetch. But this is a place that even iPhone lovers can love. Go. Eat. Enjoy. P.S. Oh my goodness....this place is a disaster. I'm sitting in the parking lot writing this after what is likely the worst breakfast experience of my life. If I save even one person from this place it will be worth it. The Eggs Benedict, super salty shaved lunch ham, seriously? Over cooked eggs with some nasty mustard colored sauce on top? The two servers were super nice, but clearly over burdened. From the time I sat down to getting my breakfast took over 40 minutes. And then was served up this plate of mess. If Yelp offered negative stars, this place would get one. Do yourself a favor, find some place, any place, but this place. read more

The interior is your standard family restaurant, basic tables fill the space as well as a counter. Two deer hang on the wall to watch diners as they eat. I went with a friend and her young daughter for breakfast. The waitress brought us a small kids bin with cards and crayons/coloring book for her daughter to use which was thoughtful. The menu is what you would expect, standard breakfast and lunch items. Our table had eggs, hash browns, bacon, biscuits and gravy and pancakes. My eggs came over medium as ordered. I think that the pancakes were a bit better than average, otherwise everything was standard good. I noticed another reviewer said that their bacon was greasy, which was surprising as ours was not. In fact we thought it was baked as it was flat and there was very little grease. This may be a change or a different cook. read more
