We chose this restaurant because it had a dog friendly outdoor patio. It also had some delicious food! They had just opened but two employees were quick to get us set up outside. Our server was pleasant and attentive. They have a dog menu - absolutely adorable. Our pup's burger patty was brought out first, in a medal bowl already cut up in pieces. She loved it. Our orders followed soon after. The perch was sooo good! The tartar had good flavor but was unexpectedly sweet. Everyone who tried it liked it. The fries were crisp, not greasy. The human burger had good flavor, the cheese curds were a nice touch. The chicken pesto sandwich was pretty delicious as well. The grilled cheese bread was something more restaurants should do! We had lunch here for Mother's Day and were initially impressed to be seated immediately. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. We waited a significant amount of time before having to flag down a server ourselves. Even after our orders were taken, we sat for another 50 minutes without food or a single check-in from the staff. While our children were patient, the lack of communication was unprofessional and left us feeling ignored. It's disappointing that a special occasion was overshadowed by such unprepared service. The manager selected who he greeted and clearly chose to ignore our table. We won't be returning, but I hope management uses this feedback to improve their holiday staffing. read more

So good. We rented bikes in downtown Holland steps away from our hotel and took a ride up to the beach finding the Reservoir for breakfast this morning. Great local spot with a view. Two Mediterranean omelettes with toast and hash browns. Added sausage patties on the side. Coffee was great and we were brought ice water without even asking. Huge! And..was offered refills on our coffee voluntarily without prompting. Huge. Portions are huge and the omelette had the perfect mix of veggies and the most fresh feta. Impressive! read more

I had the soft shell crab sandwich with house made chips. The sandwich had a nice spiciness to it and the chips were really good. If you're doing a girls trip to holland beach, stop by Reservoir for some delicious food and drinks! Located right by the water, this place offers indoor/outdoor seating for all the best vibes. Although they don't do reservations, we were able to have lunch there and sit together with 6 of us. My favorite part about the menu is all the diverse options from pasta to sandwiches to salads and burgers - they have it all! They offered vegan options and had both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks! I enjoyed my chicken parm and my friends got a vegan gyro, soft crab po'boy, pizza, wings, and ziti a la vodka. Reservoir is I a great spot to enjoy either a drink and an appetizer after sunset or why not Just Drive out for Breakfast or Brunch!? They have a variety of different options for the sweet or the savory! A warm cup.off your favorite drink. The service is very good and in the winter they have a warm fire glowing. If you enjoy whoa game they do have screens. We actually had a find convert this morning with the patrons about the history of Cricket . We all walked away a little wiser! I enjoyed a Beautiful Omelette and My husband the Regular Breakfast. Some may say it's expensive at 12-14 dollars. But the quay is there for me worth the Price for the value! The cacio and pepe was good, but the steak on it was the best part. Part of the front dining area is in an undesirable place, right in between bathrooms, main kitchen door, and drink refill area. Reservoir is a great near-lakeside spot with fantastic food and a gorgeous view! I came as an out-of-towner and felt right at home with the friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. We got the fried cheese curds as a starter and they were honestly almost enough to be a full meal split between two! We expected a small dish and got a full plate. I don't remember my partner's main course, but I got a really good chicken sandwich that I only had half of while there, since the cheese curds were so filling. I also got this really pretty blue mocktail that was citrusy. As a tourist, I'm not sure if I'll be back, but I definitely would be if I were closer! I ordered the Cacio E Pepe with a side of French Onion Soup. I also ordered an antipasto salad to take home for lunch the next day. The French onion soup was delicious and cheesy. The Cacio E Pepe had steak pieces on it, which is unusual, since it is usually meatless, But the steak was so tasty! My two friends got free desserts for their birthdays. If I had one observation, it was the service was a little slow, and the service didn't check on us. We felt like we had to flag them down for the bill. I had their cheese curd burger and while it was good I feel it was constructed the wrong way. The burger should be constructed in opposite (upside down) order. I actually flipped the burger and I thought it was 10x better! The pasta we ordered was so-so. I'm pretty picky with pasta dishes having grown up in an Italian home...im set in my ways a bit....however I feel 75% of people will be satisfied but overall I thought the dish lacked flavor. The drinks were OK - I ordered an old-fashioned and what's typical with restaurants is they put too much ice in old-fashioned' s so I was disappointed there as I had to pick ice out of the drink. Vibes are great looking at the lake and I love that their kitchen doesn't close until 10:00pm. I ordered a grilled chicken pesto melt and it was excellent. I recommend eating it with the melted cheesy side on the bottom we split a pitcher of the red sangria amongst a few of us and it was solid; the price is about right for how much you get. Why does kids meal come with French fries and a drink all for $6 where if I want to replace inedible homemade chips with French fries in an adult meal I have to pay extra $2? And! Portion of the French fries for the kids is the same as for the adults! Kids meal is definitely a better value. Pros: great atmosphere; walking distance from the marina; waitress was nice and bubbly; kids drink cups are fun and have covers; kids meal came with French fries without extra charge. Non-Locals Beware: this business is not trained in proper ID verification, is hostile to out-of-state visitors, and will deny service even when presented with valid federal identification. This establishment will not serve you if you present anything other than a Michigan ID. They refuse to take federal IDs. If you have a passport card or global entry card steer clear. Wouldn't serve a group of 25-26 years olds with valid ID. It is guaranteed that passport cards/global entry cards have all information including photo, name, AND date of birth. Happily took our money elsewhere, check out LoLo's down the road for actual waterfront dining and great vibes! Alternative forms of identification such as tan expired ID/photo were not offered until after the server denied the global entry card. We also offered to call the cops to validate but the server wouldn't allow this and said they would not serve us regardless. We asked them to call the cops at least 5 times and each time they refused to do so. Why refuse to call the cops if you are so committed to following the law? This establishment does not welcome tourists and the management is clearly dishonest. For example see below where they link to a random website instead of the State of Michigan Liquor Control Commission MCL 436.1701, Section 701 (11) (b) which covers valid identification (which lists passport and global entry cards as valid). Instead of just saying they won't serve tourists or made a mistake, they choose to lie and spread misinformation. They were never asked to "break the law". They were given valid federal identification but refused to accept it because of their ignorance, distaste for tourists, or more likely both. The owner is clearly misinformed on federal IDs including global entry cards administered by the department of homeland security. Which very clearly adheres with all requirements of State of Michigan Liquor Control Commission MCL 436.1701, Section 701 (11) (b) The management has responded multiple times. Unfortunately because of the blatant and repeated misrepresentation of Michigan law they have been reported to the MLLC due to their clear lack of fundamental knowledge that all license carriers should have. read more

I am giving this review specifically for breakfast. The truth is my wife and I have enjoyed our dinners here. Very good menu with a variety of choices. But... Breakfast was a different experience. We decided to go out for breakfast on Fathers day. We showed up just after 8am, and stood by the hostess table for a few minutes until I finally spoke up to the young lady folding something at a table next to the counter. She was completely zoned out. We were seated and I ordered the biscuits and gravy (my favorite dish), I also added wheat toast for $3. The toast was stale, literally stale! The gravy was just some white creamy tasteless...something, and there was not even close to enough to moisten the very dry biscuits. Honestly if I didn't order my eggs over easy it would have been dry toast with dry biscuits for breakfast. The hash browns, lukewarm warm temp just like the gravy. Disappointing! The server, I hope, was new because she didn't refill our coffees unless we flagged her down. She spent most of her time in the kitchen talking to the staff. You can't beat the location! It's so wonderful to sit outside and see the water. We have been walking the dog out to the beach and back and meaning to try this spot and finally got the chance on a Saturday morning. We had breakfast here and it wasn't too busy. They were so nice to bring water out for the dog. We got our drinks but too shortly after, but disappointingly the Bloody Mary was a bit watered down for my taste and I felt like it was more ice than liquid so I went through it pretty quick and then had a decaf coffee. I ordered the breakfast bowl with mushrooms, tomatoes and avocado and had the sausage gravy on the side. It was just ok in terms of flavor and took a little bit for the waitress to get me hot sauce as I was half done with my meal. My husband's steak and eggs were pretty much well done and we ordered medium. He took one bite and I took the rest home to give to the dog.
