Loyal customer, but the service here is non-existent. I have always been a huge fan of Vicky's Bakery. Whether it's for a party or a quick get-together, Vicky's is my go-to spot and I recommend them to everyone. However, my first visit to this specific location was, without a doubt, the worst service experience I've had. The two women working behind the counter seemed completely overwhelmed and uninterested in helping. They have a ticket machine to take a number for service, but it's apparently just for decoration or making trash. I was standing there with number 16 in my hand, ready to order two trays of bocaditos and three trays of assorted pastelitos. Despite being ready to order with my card in hand, I watched as three different people who arrived after me were served first. By the time I decided to leave, they were already assisting the second person who had walked in long after I did. They looked right at me and simply chose to ignore the numbering system and my presence. After waiting for more than 10 minutes without even an acknowledgment, I had enough. I'll be sticking to the Hollywood location, where they actually greet you with a smile the moment you open the door. I won't be coming back to this spot. read more

This location is super gross! Pastries had no taste with a weird food coloring added to the Ham croquettes. And, the employee charged me for items I didn't ask for. When I got home and opened the box- it's was full of items I didn't order. So, they padded the check with unwanted items- then taped it shut so I couldn't see. Food is pretty much always good BUT I need to give a suggestion. When a customer places an order with your servers can you tell them to show the customer what they placed in the box before closing and taping. When i got to the office there was nothing of what I ordered in one of the boxes. She totally decided to place what she thought. Get your pastalito fix here! Stopped by this location as it was on the way to a friend's place in Miramar. Upon entering, you'll find lots of tables and chairs for dining but they are bar height (not ideal for wheelchairs). Behind the glass counter to the left you'll find the assortment of cakes and small desserts. On the right side of the register, you'll find a variety of pastalitos. They also sell some breakfast food and sandwiches, cafecito, and some juices. We stood behind what looked like a makeshift line, although they have take-a-number system someone was able to call whoever was next in line. The lady who took our order was very warm and friendly. Our order consisted of: -2 small trays of croquettas (25 pieces/tray) -Ham & cheese croissant sandwich -Pan con bistec sandwich -2 vanilla cake pops -2 medium cafe con leche (with milk and sugar) -chocolate milk The total came out to $33 and change!! It did take a little while to get our order ready, but since it was all fresh it was worth the wait. The food was delicious and the cafe con leche was PERFECT! Starting from their original location off LeJeune Road in East Hialeah, I've been a fan of Vicky Bakery from when my parents would pick up my birthday cakes there a little over 35 years ago. (Yes, they're one of the original Cuban bakeries in Miami). I found this store a few months back while eating at the adjacent Italian restaurant. Recently, I needed a sugar fix before heading back to write reports, I stopped here (conveniently located off I-75) to take pastelitos for the office. In the hour I was there, the pastelitos vanished. This was before the Thanksgiving weekend. Yes, they're that good! I ordered two classic guava, and two guava & cheese (guayava y queso). They must have been recently done, since they were still warm when I got to the office. The crust was perfectly crispy, flaky & sweet. Although we cut them in half (since all my coworkers decided to indulge) there was enough guava and cheese filling in all of the pastries. Needless to say, I will have to stop by more often. The store seems a little larger than the original spot, and has a bunch of hightops as well as a low seating area. About half of the store is occupied by a glass display case of mousses, cakes and other pastries. Though I didn't try, they also sell juices and other sandwiches. I could be in the middle of a sugar induced coma and I will still manage to raise my arm from the hospital bed to reach out for a good "neapolitan". Stayed at a friends house to get off the beach for Hurricane Matthew. Our food prep included getting a tray of mini ham sandwiches and a tray of ham croquettas. They are soooo good. The bread is right amount of sweet, and the filling is perfectly balanced on the sandwiches. We also got their pizza filled ones (not sure of name) which are delicious. Their desserts are incredible as well. the ones we got were VERY sweet, but delicious. The only problem (for me at least) is that English is at a minimum here. So I called this morning to place an order. Because it was a Saturday and I knew there would be a line I chose to call. The first attempt I was put on hold,then hung up on. Its fine it happens. When I called back,I was informed that I could either wait on hold or just come in and wait in line. They didn't have time to take my order because they were doing ÜBER and were full. This has been my favorite bakery for 8 years. I come from 52 avenue in Miami Gardens and pass 4 other bakerys to go to this one. This is unacceptable. I went to the one on Miramar parkway and it was fine. I will no longer be going to this location. I don't believe I'm being unreasonable. But the customer service was seriously lacking. On my latest visit at their Miami Gardens location, wife and kids ordered a feast. Wife had her favorite pan con bistek, well done beef, with lettuce tomatoes, julian fries all well made and great to yhe taste. Kids got some crunchy tostadas with some pastelitos, and cupcakes all made fresh. I ordered a media noche and natural squeezed orange juice. Media noche just hit the spot and the juice refreshed me and reminded me natural just tastes better. Parking is spacious since its located at a large plaza. I come to this bakery when I visit my grandmother since it's close to her house. The box is pastelitos I got was delicious! With the pastelitos I got a fresh squeezed orange juice, tostada and My mother and grandmother got a cafecito. *Fresh orange juice: it was really tasty while drinking it and wasn't too sweet or anything. Really tasty and fresh! *Cafecito: My mother and grandmother said that the cafecito was okay. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't good either. I tried a sip of theirs and thought it was eh, I expected much better. *Guava pastry: We got two guava pastries and they were delicious, the pastry was flaky how it's supposed to be and they weren't stingy with the guava. *Guava and cheese pastry: Just as delicious and fresh as the guava pastry! Loved it and it had lost of guava and cheese. *Cangrejito (ham pastry): This pastry is filled with ham and is round. It was great and the ham inside was moist and yummy! *Tostada: The tostada was delicious and I ate all of it! It is Cuban bread which they put butter in and then press it! This is my favorite bakery! They have just about anything and everything you might want, note that this is a Hispanic bakery mainly. However, you'll find some classic American pastries and sweets as well. There croquettes are very good, and ever so often they make their house croquettes which are even better. They have cream cheese pastries, guava pastries, picadillo pastries, coconut pastries, I can go on and on and on. The best part of my experience there is obviously the Cuban bread, this is what mainly people flocked here for. This is not your Winn-Dixie or Publix American knock off attempt. It's the real deal ladies and gentlemen. On weekdays when I visit it's typically in the morning on my way to work, I don't order much a simple cortadito or cafe con leche with Cuban butter toast. Simple and filling. They also make really good authentic sandwiches, Croquettes, egg, media noche, Cuban, etc The one flaw this location has is that it's so good usually on Saturdays or Sundays you can expect a wait inside for take out, this is traditionally anywhere between 8 and 11am. I believe it's properly staffed however the volume of people that come in to this location is extremely high during these hours at this location, there is only so many employees you can fit in one small space before it does not become productive. I thought this Vicky Bakery, a well-regarded chain among Cubans, is pretty nice. It has a feel of a coffee house inside, with tables, stools, and lounging chairs (although at times it can feel empty and needing more furniture). From the look of it, the place is new. But it would be nice if Miami changed all their Cuban bakeries into something like this - one that welcomes internet-browsing, coffee-drinking, and social gathering crowds the way new American coffee shops tend to do. Kudos to this location! As for the food, the empanadas are a bit dry-tasting. The good orange juice was fresh squeezed. And there's three types of tequenos here, much to my surprise - cheese, guava and cheese, and ham and cheese. If I'm in the area and wanting something light, I wouldn't mind returning - but earlier in the day probably would mean fresher baked goods as some things most likely will be sitting around for a while by the middle of the day. read more

I am going to try and write this review as honestly as I can because I came here with my friend and her girlfriend and they did most of the ordering for me in Spanish. I don't know a lick of Spanish, let alone ordering.... For what I can tell you, the food looks and tastes amazing. They have Cuban sandwiches and pastries hence the bakery aspect. I got the traditional Cuban sandwich called Croqueta preparada, then this sweet cream cheese and sugary danish pastry that looks like a croissant. Equally amazing as the sandwich and both extremely filling and cheap! My grand total was under $9 for a huge sandwich and dessert. If I can give 0 stars, I would. I keep giving this location chances, time and time again and they ALWAYS disappoint. Whenever you try to order something from the menu with requested adjustments, they give push back. Never trying to accommodate the customer on the initial request; we literally need to debate with them to have our order made to the customers liking. And it's never done correctly after all of it! Breads barely toasted for bfast sandwiches. Today I ordered a pan con tortilla with ham and American cheese; I got a barely toasted bread with scrambled eggs, ham and Swiss cheese. Ive tried to give Vicky Bakery multiple chances at different locations, and honestly they just can't get it right. Both times I've ordered shakes (batidos), it's always ROOM TEMP, because they leave the milk out. So disappointing, when anyone orders a shake, I'm sure they hope it to be refreshing, which it definitely wasn't. And the ham and cheese empanadas taste like the filling is cat food. I'm so sorry to leave such a negative review, I just hope this chain can get their act together one day. It really does seem like everything is done very carelessly. Won't be giving any more chances. You're better off going to a smaller bakery where the people who work there care about the quality of food and service, not a chain restaurant where the employees are just trying to get by.
