What can I say about Vicky Bakery that hasn't already been said. This place is just pastry heaven. I love coming here for pastelitos early in the morning when I know they are very fresh and still warm sometimes. I have bought many pastries here from time to time. I stop in every chance that I get. I have eaten pastry and other desserts at not only other Vicky Bakeries but this specific location is the best. The customer service is fast and on key. The food is amazing. I have yet to come here and be dissapointed. Even when there's a long line I never wait more than ten minutes. I brought my friend Guil M. here for his first time. He fell in love with this place. Every chance he gets he asks me to bring him something. I always say no!!! lol jk. This place will remain my favorite bakery for Cuban delicacies. It was as if a Lexmark printer itself printed the cake. Such is Vicky bakery. A staple in any Cuban's party. Grab a tray of bocaditos and you have a party. The best thing about this place is that every employee will remind you of your tia. They will even come around the counter, give you a besito, and spend an hour talking about family. I love that. Was my regular place, and I keep trying to stop by and get coffee. However, every time I walk to the door the line is too long, the service is really bad and the sence of urgency doesn't exist for the employees. Very sad to see how many customers just go back to their cars and leave when they see the not moving line, customers keep leaving due to the same issue. Has to be the worse bakery to ever step foot in... the service is the worse ever. They work in slow motion and anyone could tell it's done purposely. If two people in front of you expect at least a 40 minute wait till it's your turn. Vicky Bakery is a landmark in South Florida. You don't go anywhere else but here, when you're buying pastelitos. The sweet glaze they use is like no other used at any bakery. I would highly recommend you give one of their meat or guava pastries a try! read more

Prices are incredibly cheap and a big selection of items Sandwiches are large. My favorite thing we ordered was the papa rellenas. So about a week and a half ago, my mother in law & I had a cake ordered to be made here for my fiancé & I's engagement party. When we arrive on Sunday about two hours before to pick up the cake it was completely frosted in the wrong colors. The entire cake was purple with white accents when it was supposed to be all white with purple accents. (mind you it was to celebrate a engagement and we wanted a white cake which we stressed when we placed the order, they however insisted we add another color for "accents".) The order was written correctly on the order sheet however the cake decorator had completely messed it up. When we nicely addressed the error in the order to the owner's mother who works at the bakery to see if there was anyway this could be fixed she proceeded to give us attitude and stated that if wanted it fixed we'd have to wait TWO HOURS! The cake decorator was working on another cake now and could not fix it. We were angry at this point but we understood that nothing could be done. It was a rather large and heavy cake so we asked for help taking the cake to the car. The cake was placed in a HUGE rectangle box. (Apparently they did not have a smaller box to accommodate the our "circle" shaped cake) A man then came from the kitchen to help us take the cake to the car. He insisted that we put the cake in the trunk rather than in the back seat. We assumed he knew what he was doing so we agreed. Next thing we know as he's bending over to put the cake in the trunk he's grabbing the box from the long ends and the short side edge of box bends in towards the cake completely ruining the cake. We explain that we can't take the cake with half of it ruined. He proceeds to say that he'll call the owners mothers to see what she can do instead of offering to carry the heavy cake back into the bakery. He rushed back inside and asks her to come out. She takes a look at the cake and asks what we want to do?!! My mother in law states we want it fixed. She states it may take a while. I proceed to calmly say that we ordered this cake a week and half ago and we received it in the wrong colors and now the man has ruined the cake and all she can tell us is that it will be a while? Did she expect us to take the ruined cake? (Made us wonder how many people have left with ruined cakes so that they wouldn't have to deal with her) She begins to scream at me stating the cake can be fixed but that we need to leave it there and come back! We are both furious at this point but i knew that if i screamed back at her we would not get the cake fixed and we would lose our money. My mother in law decides to carry the cake back to the bakery and wait half an hour to get it fixed, at this point I needed to leave to the party to help with decorations before we had guests begin to arrive. Once the cake arrives at our home in myind i'm thinking "at least if it tastes good than the colors don't matter." Toward the end of the party we cut the cake and then we realize its burnt!!!! I wish i had taken a photo on my cellphone! The entire bottom party of the cake was black!!!! It was extremely dry and all together horrible!!! This is our last time ever buying a cake at this bakery! BE WARNED THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CUSTOMER SERIVCE!!!!!!! Never been treated so badly!!!! This is the very best bakery in the area. I live very close so I'm in here all of the time. It's a franchise location that has all of what the original Vicky Bakery has plus it has some wonderful additions, like pan de bono (dinner roll sized cheese breads) and Columbian empanadas. The owner is a hip ZZ Top looking dude that is always at the front of the house making sure everything runs smoothly...and smoothly it does run thanks in large part to their take-a-number system. Pastries are inexpensive but everything in the display window looks delicious so you are sure to over order. Standouts are the croqueta de casa, pan de bono, croqueta de queso, tequeños and... One negative is that they don't make milkshakes. I would give them 5 stars if not for the the quality of the guava and cheese tequeños the last two times. They tasted like they were leftovers from the previous day--not fresh at all. Service is very friendly although of the dozens of times I've ordered here I have had eyes rolled on me a couple of times when I've made a change to my order. All in all, it's a great bakery. A must try if you're in the Miami Lakes/palm Springs North area. read more

Stopped to pick up a cake for my little brother's BDAY and the lady by the name of ODALYS served me, she became personal with me, this is to show you how courtesous this lady is to her customers. I called the store after leaving to see if i could do more than just tipping, i asked to be transfered over to speak with the manager of that specific location to express gratitude to the employee who served me which was Odalys, i got transfered to speak with the manager and coming to my surprise!! It was Odaly!! She was the store manager. I was surprised! I mean i work in the hotel industry and she not only executed the task of being a good server and a life coach, but was able to master the task of being hospitable!! Thanks alot Odalys youve made my day as well as for the people that were around me. Your great presence was felt and passed down unto those who were in my surroundings for the day!!! Terrible service, long 20 minute lines, the pastelitos look like they've been there for a few days.. quietly rotting behind the display. The owner/manager hanging out with another man behind the counter, talking with his arms crossed, liening against something..SAW and HEARD the angry line starting to get impatient and huffing and puffing and he did nothing.He just said, the girls are in the back!! We left after waiting about 15 mins and the long line hadn't budged. He could've jumped in to at least help take orders while the "girls" were obviously overwhelmed but all we got was the stink- eye and shoulder shrug from him as we walked out. Cuban pastry HEAVEN. Stopped in South FL for less than a day on my way back to Atlanta from cruise, and the only stop I requested on the way from the Port of Miami back to my friend's house in Broward was here. It's a full-on bakery, but I come here for the pastelitos...flaky, delicious pastries filled with meat, cheese, or guava. They also have "cigarillos" which are pastry sticks filled with cheese or cheese and guava. The croquetas are good, too (I'm partial to the ham ones), as are the mini sandwiches. Now GO! read more

If I could rate this location 0 stars I would. I went to this Vicky Bakery location and from the get-go it was a disaster. Parking was impossible to find, took be 15 minutes of driving around to finally find parking. Once inside, I grabbed a number and it took 25 minutes to be attended. Once I did, the employees behind the counter gave attitude as I asked about prices and quantity. If I had not been in a time crunch i would have left the facility at this point. To top it all off the pastelitos were very bland, and the guava and cheese ones barely had any cheese. The croquetas were also very soggy. I'll stick to other locations of vicky bakery. This location is pretty close to my home, which is pretty convenient whenever I want a quick coffee or pastry. Usually this place never lets me down, but today they managed to do so. I went in and there was a bit of a line, but I waited cause I wanted a coffee, figured I'd get helped pretty quickly. After 15 min of waiting, it was finally my turn, only to get ignored and having the lady assist the person behind me because he had an order to pick up. I know these reviews don't change much and don't mean much since customers don't really taken them too serious until they have a bad experience themselves or unless the review is about a company that offers essential or important services and it's not just about a bakery that sells junk food. Nevertheless, I will summarize my review by saying that while waiting to place an order in a long ass line, the owner or manager screamed to everyone in Spanish, "PATIENCE PEOPLE, PATIENCE!!!" Who does that?! That should tell you what kind of costumer service they have. If the owner or manager does that, why would anyone think that regular employees would be any better? The only reason I waited was because the older people I was with wanted to wait, if I had been alone I wouldn't even had considered going to a Vicky Bakery since I know they're shit and I haven't been to one for over 20 years. I give two stars because the food is good. But I was HIGHLY upset due to one of the many experiences I've had here. when I get there the lady inside saw me walking up and ran and locked the door before I got there and I checked the time and it was about 10 minutes before they closed and all they did was laugh at me, so I left. Again growing up in a Hispanic household, we always get the bocaditos and croquetas for the parties. My family placed the order before I drove all the way in Hialeah (which has ridiculous parking and traffic) for me to wait almost an hour to pick up and get attitude while at it. The place is long but not wide so it gets so crowded inside and everyone is in a rush and cutting the non existent line and pushing up against you. I would go again for the pastries (only when family orders it) but otherwise I'll make it myself and save the stress for another time. read more
