Well one of the reasons I agreed to move here from Mt Vernon was because there was a Salvadorian restaurant nearby, as Pupusas are one of my top 10 loves, can I say Vicky's did not disappoint!! Wonderful food, beans and rice too. Server was SO busy with almost all tables full, great service and as I said wonderful food. I will be back again and again!

5 stars for authentic tamales, superior kind service, clean tables, clean bathroom, and great prices. Stopped here for lunch on our drive from Portland to Seattle. Banana leaf wrapped tamales are hard to find and when I saw the reviews from other yelpers, I knew I had to stop here. These did not disappoint. Unfortunately we ordered the last 5 tamales. We also got a variety of pupusas and every single one was delicious and the best pupusas we've ever had. Very reasonably manly priced for both the tamales and pupusas. We did also order chicken and carne asada tacos. The menu says handmade tortillas. They were perfectly round and although they were soft and fresh, we weren't sure they were hand made in house. My kids loved the carne asada meat. The tacos were a bit pricey for the street tacos size tacos and the tortilla was not what we expected. But highly recommend the pupusas and tamales.

Decided to pop out with the wife and try another new spot! Unfortunately we both under the weather (may or may not be Covid ).

Me and the wife decided to try something new again and this place was a spot I've passed a bunch and finally decided to come try. It's definitely a mom and pop style restaurant from the way the dining room is set up. What's cooler is the music coming from the kitchen was pretty wavy so the added noise didn't bother us but set the mood even better. Service was prompt and super friendly, also a plus!!!! Having never had Salvadorian food before, I have to say it was epic!!!!! Check out the pictures that accompanied this review to see what I had!!!! 9/10 would definitely come back!!!!

    Salvadorean Chicken "Pollo Guisado'

My wife and I agreed, one of the finest coming experiences we have had in quite a long time. We were traveling though the area and wanted to try something out of the ordinary and for us, Vicky's was the perfect choice (thanks Yelp for helping us find it). It's two miles off the interstate and the gravel parking lot and outside don't look very promising. It's basic yet clean and comfortable seating once you get inside. The wife had the Pollo Guisado'. Two pieces of chicken on the bone that were exceptionally tender and flavorful. The meat just about fell of the bone. The sauce on the chicken blew my mind it was so tasty. Make sure you get some tortillas to help get all of the sauce. I went for the Bistec Encebollada, thinly sliced, marinated and oh so tender pieces of beef that made me close my eyes and enjoy the combination of flavors and textures. It's some of the finest of its type I've had the pleasure of eating. The rice was pretty standard, the beans were what I expect you would get out of a blender, nothing wrong with them however I knew that the beef was going to fill me up so I didn't eat much of the beans. They have a sign on the window saying they will be closing on Sunday's, so plan accordingly. We will be heading back again. Service was friendly, very helpful with recommendations and the food came out quickly. Definitely worth the short drive into town from the freeway!

    Aguachiles

We got the pupusas and the aguachilles. Both were amazing!! Its so hard to find authentic Salvadorian food here in Washington and this hands down 10/10. We will definitely be coming back. The service was great as well. The lady serving us was very sweet.

This is the best burrito in all of Tacoma/Lakewood!!! I tell everyone to try them. People don't know what they are missing, because they are just getting pupusas. Who would think they would have great burritos. So, these are not like any other burritos, because they are not Mexican. They use their delicious black beans, their white rice with a few little veg, sour cream, onions, cilantro, you can get really good chile sauce if you want it spicy. The sauce is so good. No cheese... can you believe it? Cheese is not even needed. You can get chicken or carne asada, or like we got, no meat and they will add avocado slices. I really wanted no meat, and platano frito added. This is what we used to get, and it's great. They should add a no meat option to the menu, and also the platano option. Everyone that loves unique delicious burritos, come check this place out. The guy that took my order was friendly, and even made our burrito half no cilantro. Thanks! They get busy.

I ordered to-go, and I am genuinely surprised that they do not have more condiments available, especially with the salsa as I got 4 pupusas. No wet wipe, which may be asking for a lot, but at least make it up with the paper napkins. I love that it is near base, but u might as well order to eat-in the restaurant. That way u get all that u need. Better inspection on my end could have been done, but just :o at the...stinginess. That sounds like a harsh word, I know, but how else do I describe it...?

Everything was wonderful, but the platanos and tacos were especially yummy. Everything was very affordable and the menu was set up small-plates/combo style, so you can try a couple dishes for a good price! It was pretty busy while we were there, but the young lady who helped us was killing it! She was there alone, but we were impressed by her hustle and work ethic. She spoke fluent Spanish with other customers as well. 100% recommend this place. We were just passing through Aberdeen, but if we lived closer I have a feeling we would eat our way through the menu in no time!

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5…read moreAmbiance: 4.5/5 For the food, we had the quesobirria tacos, a slew of papusas, carne asada tacos, and an adobada taco. The best bite, the quesobirria tacos, BY FAR. My daughter said it was "the best birria I've had in a long time." The meat was tender and (not to sound too cliche) the consommé was packed with flavor. The papusas the chicken and cheese was the best one, followed by the jalepeno and cheese, the rest were not bad, just nothing to write home about. As far as the tacos go, the carne asada was fine, the adobada had great flavor and a decent char on it. This made for a great post-crab fishing meal and will likely come back next time we're in town. Oh! This place is on the pricier side, just so there's no sticker shock. The service was decent, but I'm pretty sure our papusas were dished up wrong, but such is life when they all look the same, the inside of the restaurant is all of we the place but super clean.
