I think that this place would probably be a 4/5 on my usual scale. I often take location into consideration to at least some degree. While this would be a 4 on my general scale, they likely would be a 5/5 for the area; at least based off of my experience from this trip. As for real food is concerned, this was by far my favorite spot. There was a part of me that had a feeling a random corner bistro would be better than whatever random viral spots we found on social media. That was pretty spot on. All of the meats were very tender, moist and flavorful. The first bite of the duck confit was my favorite of the whole trip; perfectly crisp and flavorful. The steals that my friends ordered were a complete 180 from the steak frites spot from the prior night. The steaks were tender, flavorful and moist. Because of the hot rainy weather, we decided to order some hot tea which really hit the spot for us. As for service, overall it was pretty good. A thing that I've noticed in France was that the initial service is great but they really take FOREVER to come by with the bill. At some point we found out that that's just the culture. This random bistro was decently large and it got PACKED by the time we left. That did make it take even longer to get the check. There's something about the vibe in this place that made me not really mind it.
3.5 stars. We saw that this place had good reviews on google and wasn't too far from where we were so we decided to come here (no reservation needed). We waited in line for about a half hour before being seated. The inside is a bit cramped and loud and you will be seated closely next to others around you. We ordered the warm goat cheese salad on toast and the homemade terrine as starters. Both were delicious, especially the goat cheese, which was rich and flavorful. We also ordered the duck confit and the grilled rib steak. The grilled rib steak was not the best steak and was the worst item we tried here. The duck confit was a bit dry but was good. We also ordered a crème brûlée for dessert and it was quite large and came out a bit cold. The food was served in pretty large portions, which had us stuffed by the end. The table next to us had cockroaches crawling over it, which was unpleasant. I removed some stars because of the cockroach situation and the main course was alright. Overall, the waitstaff was friendly but busy serving many people. The bathroom was also clean enough but not as clean as some of the other restaurants we've been to in Paris.
Don't skip this place. Easily the best lunch in Paris. This place is iconic. The food is phenomenal. I got chicken with potatoes and it rocked my world. I think about that plate often. There are so many options for every kind of eater. There is an English menu. The smoky smell is from the rosemary getting lit on fire for the steak plate. The staff is incredibly funny and attentive and fast and caring. I have only good things to say. I want to come back!
Our last meal in Paris. This place was packed when we came here, and luckily they were able to fit two people in without a reservation. We had to sit in the back and was crowded against other tables, but it was fine since we didn't need to wait. The reason we came here, was for the duck confit.... but unfortunately they were sold out by the time we came by. We opted for the steak and fries and the beef tartare and fries inside. We also got the french onion soup as an appetizer. Service was quick. and the food was very tasty and simple. It wasn't expensive at all, which explains why this place was packed in the first place. Interestingly, they provide ketchup and mayo for each table... i wonder if that means they know a lot of americans come here. lol Will come back again when i'm back in Paris.
Bistro with a vintage vibe serving food at generous price in Paris, so it's no surprise that this gem is packed to the gills with bargain-loving office workers and locals every day. The steak-frites are good but chewy, featuring a slab of entrecôte topped with a smoking sprig of thyme. The duck was a bit dry and the beer helped to digest it. The French onion soup not worth the calories. Lack of salt and tasteless cheese barely melted broke our hearts. The wines by the glass can be rough, but the authentic buzz should make up for any flaws. Cheers!
The food was served very quickly, within minutes of ordering. The chicken was very good, cooked well with crispy skin. I ordered Creme Brûlée for dessert, it was okay, it had just the slightest hint of cigarette flavor which was unfortunate. The staff was really friendly and the service fast and efficient and the prices very reasonable. Definitely a place to eat in Paris that is not breaking the bank or taking too much time out of your day.
We enjoyed an excellent dinner at Victories. The food is quite good and the prices are very affordable. Dishes ordered included Steak frites, duck confit, roasted chicken, French onion soup, bottle of Bordeaux and desserts of crème Brule and profiteroles! This place was packed and there were a steady stream of patrons so I could tell this was a popular place. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a filling meal at an affordable price in Paris!
Yet another amazing meal. This is officially our favorite place to eat in France. Service is nice and friendly, music is hopping (it's a lot of pop music, which is my favorite genre ) Along with their amazing escargot (which are small but bursting with flavor), we got a "Giant salad", the salad LANDAISE... remember this and get it. It's giant for them but just right for our American appetites haha. I initially thought they gave us the wrong order because the greens were buried under all that French duck goodness (duck foie Gras, duck sleeve, duck gizzard and cured ham). It's definitely for the carnivore that wants some veggies in their life. Highly recommended and we will definitely get this again! I tried a different mocktail this time... The APPLE MOJITO & it was refreshing but I prefer the strawberry one I got last time. The DUCK CONDIT was on point just like last time. Can't get enough of the stuff. We tried the BEEF RIB EYE STEAK WITH BURNING THYME and it was OK for me. My husband got it medium rare and it was too bloody for me. He enjoyed it though and it smelled amazing when they brought it out basically on fire. We will be back for sure so GO HERE! & Bon apetit!
Whenever in Paris, we come to Victoires a couple times and here's why: Wait time- Most of the time we get seated right away even though the restaurant is always busy. They are quick!! Price- Very affordable. Food- Good food! Their duck confit is very delicious and highly recommended. The skin is crunchy and the duck meat is flavorful and well seasoned. This is the dish I can eat every week and will not get tired of it. Steak tartare comes in second. It's a classic dish and they deliver. We always finish each meal with a plate of cheese and honey. This may not sound very appealing to some but it is really good. Their escargot is average, the snails are a bit small and they are lost in the butter parsley sauce. Overall this place is a solid choice.
Came during the Olympics after visiting some museums. Good to great food, in a truly French atmosphere. The eggs mayonnaise were incredible--best mayo I've ever had. I had a salad and my husband had the entrecôte. They were satisfactory without being extraordinary. The green beans, though, were super simple and excellent. We split the profiteroles for dessert: Chou pastry, nougat ice cream, semi sweet chocolate sauce, and almond slivers. As memorable as the mayonnaise. Prices were normal for Paris. Service was good, as long as you remember that in France, waiters do not check on you every five minutes and everything takes time.
Very nice service and excellent food. Loved the bar area setup! Duck confit is a 1000000% must get. Escargot was on the small side but very tasty. Their house Cote du Rhône was a great complement to our lunch. Steak and frites was just ok, meat was overdone and not seasoned well. Creme brûlée was just OK. The custard part was pretty cold. Would come back for the duck!
Our 2nd dinner out in Paris on this trip... Victories bistro was better than expected... Reasonably priced... Superb service... Kewl vibe... A bit tight for space and noisy ... We had the wrong salad at first and they replaced it with no complaint or the replacement looking undersized! It looked huge for a tartar + froi-gra salad. No hurry, n' it was just so pleasant... Thus 4 stars seems reasonable.
This is an absolutely wonderful restaurant in Paris. so glad that we found it. You can sit on the sidewalk and enjoy the sights of the city at this little out of the way restaurant. The food is amazing. You can also sit inside in the restaurant bar area. If the weather is agreeable I recommend sitting outside. Service was great. hope to go back to Paris so I can visit here again.

Came on a Monday around 1:30pm and waited about 35 minutes to be seated. I was craving duck, and since my friend had been here multiple times, I decided to check it out. The staff were friendly and spoke English. However, the restaurant was very busy, and it was hard to get hold of the servers. The prices were very affordable and the portions were generous. The food also came out quickly. I ordered the duck confit--the meat was tender and fell right off the bone, but it lacked flavor and I couldn't really taste the duck. The snails were okay. While I was eating, a spider fell from the ceiling onto my table, which was pretty off-putting. I also saw another review mentioning cockroaches, which made me a bit uneasy. Overall: Everything was pretty mid. I probably wouldn't have come if I knew the duck would be underwhelming, and I wouldn't recommend waiting this long for it. read more

We arrived close to closing time, but the staff still welcomed us. The restaurant felt more like a local neighborhood bar and restaurant than a tourist spot, which gave it a nice atmosphere. The escargot was excellent, and the chicken burger was tasty. The steak tartare was decent, though not particularly memorable. The fries served with the dishes could have been crispier. Unfortunately, the duck confit was disappointing--it was bland and lacked the crispy texture you'd expect from a well-prepared confit. Overall, it was a mixed experience with some standout dishes but a few letdowns. read more

Goodness wish we came sooner! Wasted a few good meals down the street! This place was delicious and cheaper than some of the other spots! We went because it was recommended by our host. The service is quick, the ambiance is perfect and charming. The tables are close together so prepare to make friends! We may just have to go back tomorrow! read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Paris. The two times we have been here it has delivered and at affordable prices. They are open every day and have a great menu of all the main French dishes you'll want to try. The steak frites is our favorite. Their French fries are delicious. My favorite dessert is the chocolate fondant. It will be a must every time we return to Paris! read more

Found this restaurant on Yelp during my trip here in Paris. We didn't have a reservation but it was fairly quick to get us into the restaurant on a busy weekend night (less than 5 minutes for 2 people!) It's truly a hole in the wall. Though it may not be as bourgeois as other fancy fine dining restaurants, Victoires has incredible customer service and food as well! My friend got the French Onion Soup and it was very delicious. Very rich and creamy with the added bread bites as well. The escargot here is like no other place I can think of during my time in Paris. Buttery, light and well seasoned. One of my favorite dishes. For an entree I got the duck confit and it was very nice! Be warned to come on an empty stomach because by the time we finished the escargot and onion soup we were full This was truly one of my favorite places to dine in while in Paris, especially on a budget as well. Also very conveniently located near the Louvre. read more
This place was quite good and very cheap compared to some other spots. I came in for dinner and it was a bit full when I arrived, but I was still able to get seated relatively quickly. I ordered the duck, steak tartare, and french onion soup. I've definitely had better steak tartare elsewhere and wouldn't come back for that here. Victoires really redeemed itself with the duck and french onion soup though. The duck was pretty good and I liked the potato(?) chips(?) it came with. The french onion soup was also delicious and quite filling. I don't know if the mains are big enough portion wise, which is why I got the french onion soup. The service was a bit slow, but that wasn't particularly out of the ordinary with how busy the place was. I would say it's great value coming here. Even though the portion size might be slightly too small, each dish is quite affordable. read more

Delicious burger!! Fantastic prices and service! The ambience was amazing it was cute inside! They were busy but were very tentative to us! Affordable cafe in Paris. I've ordered the duck confit, French onion soup, escargot, burning thyme ribeye, beef tartare, and le fromage blanc au miel. Everything is delicious, though I am more partial to the duck confit and the beef tartare along with Le fromage blanc au miel. The duck confit was pan fried to perfection-- it was a tad salty, but the fresh salad with the slightly butter mustard sauce was a perfect balance for the lore salty duck. The fried potatoes were also nicely done, and a bite of duck, potato, and salad was nicely balanced. I also loved their lightly cooked beef tartare. It wasn't raw, but more like extremely rare. It was seasoned with pepper, capers, olive oil, garlic, onion, and maybe a pinch of salt. I wasn't too sure how it would be, but I loved it. It was slightly pickled from the capers, but it only stimulated the appetite and the fries had a nice of amount of crunch and salt. Le fromage blanc is a white yogurt-like dessert and we had honey on top. A much more light dessert than a crème brûlée or a profiterole. A great way to finish off a heavy meal. I've also tried the onion soup which had a sweeter tone. The onions were minced extremely small, so it's perfect for the person who doesn't like onion too much. My companion got the escargot and the burning thyme ribeye-- both were good, though she prefers her own ribeye. Service is always polite and kind. The first time, the owner was our waiter and he was charismatic and enthusiastic. Most meals in Paris can be 2 hours, as service is more relaxed. Be forewarned. read more

Very typical Parisian decor and style, comfortable and homey. The service was impeccable.. probably the best from my whole stay in Paris. The waiter was funny, friendly, advised us on selections, and recommended the best way to go back to our hotel. We started with an appetizer of escargot, which they had listed as a lunch item but were more than accommodating when we asked if we could have it for dinner. They were very good, had a lot of sauce, and had good flavor. Slightly chewy, I enjoyed this dish. The sea bass special was a filet, served with mashed potatoes in a typical French style sauce. Heavy and flavorful, both the potatoes and sauce was filling. The sea bass was fresh, flakey and delicious. read more

In my opinion, this is one of my favorite eats in Paris. We came around dinner time and they were very crowded. Even though there were 3 parties ahead of us, we only waited for around 10 minutes. The space inside is a tight and it was very busy when we went. We ordered the escargot and the steak. The escargot was exceptional! Very tender and the garlic parsley butter was to die for. The steak frites was also very delicious. Although, I ordered the steak medium and it came out raw in the middle. They immediately sent it back without hesitation and apologized for the mistake and they got it right the second time around. I also ordered a creme brûlée which came out bigger than your usual creme brûlée. It was probably my favorite dish of the night. So good I ordered another. Overall, the food was really good considering the average price of things here was around 14 euros. The service is pretty good considering how crowded the restaurant is, our waiter was pretty new but he was still knowledgeable and attentive nonetheless.y only problem with this place is the wait time. Yes, we went when it was pretty busy, but waiting around 35 mins for our first dishes to come out got a bit tiring. Overall, I would highly recommend this place as the food is delicious, the service is decent, and the price is really good! read more
For our first night in Paris, we stumbled upon Victoires for a late dinner - well it was late for us, around 9:00pm. Without a reservation, our party of 9 was seated in about 10 minutes. Score! The place was packed and service was pretty slow - but that's OK! We're just happy to be in Paris. The servers did have a sense of humor, the receipt had the server's name down as Clark Kent. Ha ha! Anyway, loved the ambience, drinks and entrees. The strawberry Mojito was delish. Kir Royal also very good. The fish of the day was sea bream on broccoli purée (cold). Very good! I would order that again. We also tried the meat of the day which was steak with a smoky piece of thyme on top. That smelled sooooo good. The steak was good but we've had better cuts of steak in the US. We also tried the duck confit, also very good, moist and tasty, not gamey at all. We also had the creme brûlée and the profiteroles. Once seated and ordered your food comes quickly and is quite delicious. After all day on my feet the duck confit hit the spot and filled me up. You can tell the staff are busy, as this is a popular but small cafe, but they are attentive and kind, they deserve five stars themselves. read more
Located near the louvre, Bistrot Victoires was recommended to me by a friend studying abroad. My family and I tried the most popular steak frites, the duck confit, and salmon tartare. Steak frites: 3/5 - The steak in this dish was stated on the English menu as a tbone steak but there was no tbone. Also, I requested medium rare and got a more cooked meat. It was slightly tough to cut, even though the steak was think to start with, since here was tendon veined in the cut of meat. Duck confit: 5/5 - This was the favorite dish ordered. The perfectly cooked duck meat was moist and easily came off the bone. A win in our books. Salmon Tartare: 4/5 - I assumed the tartare was going to be completely raw but it was grilled on the outside, which was fine. In general, this was good, but nothing mindblowing. read more
