I think that this place would probably be a 4/5 on my usual scale. I often take location into consideration to at least some degree. While this would be a 4 on my general scale, they likely would be a 5/5 for the area; at least based off of my experience from this trip. As for real food is concerned, this was by far my favorite spot. There was a part of me that had a feeling a random corner bistro would be better than whatever random viral spots we found on social media. That was pretty spot on. All of the meats were very tender, moist and flavorful. The first bite of the duck confit was my favorite of the whole trip; perfectly crisp and flavorful. The steals that my friends ordered were a complete 180 from the steak frites spot from the prior night. The steaks were tender, flavorful and moist. Because of the hot rainy weather, we decided to order some hot tea which really hit the spot for us. As for service, overall it was pretty good. A thing that I've noticed in France was that the initial service is great but they really take FOREVER to come by with the bill. At some point we found out that that's just the culture. This random bistro was decently large and it got PACKED by the time we left. That did make it take even longer to get the check. There's something about the vibe in this place that made me not really mind it.
3.5 stars. We saw that this place had good reviews on google and wasn't too far from where we were so we decided to come here (no reservation needed). We waited in line for about a half hour before being seated. The inside is a bit cramped and loud and you will be seated closely next to others around you. We ordered the warm goat cheese salad on toast and the homemade terrine as starters. Both were delicious, especially the goat cheese, which was rich and flavorful. We also ordered the duck confit and the grilled rib steak. The grilled rib steak was not the best steak and was the worst item we tried here. The duck confit was a bit dry but was good. We also ordered a crème brûlée for dessert and it was quite large and came out a bit cold. The food was served in pretty large portions, which had us stuffed by the end. The table next to us had cockroaches crawling over it, which was unpleasant. I removed some stars because of the cockroach situation and the main course was alright. Overall, the waitstaff was friendly but busy serving many people. The bathroom was also clean enough but not as clean as some of the other restaurants we've been to in Paris.
Don't skip this place. Easily the best lunch in Paris. This place is iconic. The food is phenomenal. I got chicken with potatoes and it rocked my world. I think about that plate often. There are so many options for every kind of eater. There is an English menu. The smoky smell is from the rosemary getting lit on fire for the steak plate. The staff is incredibly funny and attentive and fast and caring. I have only good things to say. I want to come back!
Our last meal in Paris. This place was packed when we came here, and luckily they were able to fit two people in without a reservation. We had to sit in the back and was crowded against other tables, but it was fine since we didn't need to wait. The reason we came here, was for the duck confit.... but unfortunately they were sold out by the time we came by. We opted for the steak and fries and the beef tartare and fries inside. We also got the french onion soup as an appetizer. Service was quick. and the food was very tasty and simple. It wasn't expensive at all, which explains why this place was packed in the first place. Interestingly, they provide ketchup and mayo for each table... i wonder if that means they know a lot of americans come here. lol Will come back again when i'm back in Paris.
Bistro with a vintage vibe serving food at generous price in Paris, so it's no surprise that this gem is packed to the gills with bargain-loving office workers and locals every day. The steak-frites are good but chewy, featuring a slab of entrecôte topped with a smoking sprig of thyme. The duck was a bit dry and the beer helped to digest it. The French onion soup not worth the calories. Lack of salt and tasteless cheese barely melted broke our hearts. The wines by the glass can be rough, but the authentic buzz should make up for any flaws. Cheers!
The food was served very quickly, within minutes of ordering. The chicken was very good, cooked well with crispy skin. I ordered Creme Brûlée for dessert, it was okay, it had just the slightest hint of cigarette flavor which was unfortunate. The staff was really friendly and the service fast and efficient and the prices very reasonable. Definitely a place to eat in Paris that is not breaking the bank or taking too much time out of your day.
We enjoyed an excellent dinner at Victories. The food is quite good and the prices are very affordable. Dishes ordered included Steak frites, duck confit, roasted chicken, French onion soup, bottle of Bordeaux and desserts of crème Brule and profiteroles! This place was packed and there were a steady stream of patrons so I could tell this was a popular place. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a filling meal at an affordable price in Paris!
Yet another amazing meal. This is officially our favorite place to eat in France. Service is nice and friendly, music is hopping (it's a lot of pop music, which is my favorite genre ) Along with their amazing escargot (which are small but bursting with flavor), we got a "Giant salad", the salad LANDAISE... remember this and get it. It's giant for them but just right for our American appetites haha. I initially thought they gave us the wrong order because the greens were buried under all that French duck goodness (duck foie Gras, duck sleeve, duck gizzard and cured ham). It's definitely for the carnivore that wants some veggies in their life. Highly recommended and we will definitely get this again! I tried a different mocktail this time... The APPLE MOJITO & it was refreshing but I prefer the strawberry one I got last time. The DUCK CONDIT was on point just like last time. Can't get enough of the stuff. We tried the BEEF RIB EYE STEAK WITH BURNING THYME and it was OK for me. My husband got it medium rare and it was too bloody for me. He enjoyed it though and it smelled amazing when they brought it out basically on fire. We will be back for sure so GO HERE! & Bon apetit!
Whenever in Paris, we come to Victoires a couple times and here's why: Wait time- Most of the time we get seated right away even though the restaurant is always busy. They are quick!! Price- Very affordable. Food- Good food! Their duck confit is very delicious and highly recommended. The skin is crunchy and the duck meat is flavorful and well seasoned. This is the dish I can eat every week and will not get tired of it. Steak tartare comes in second. It's a classic dish and they deliver. We always finish each meal with a plate of cheese and honey. This may not sound very appealing to some but it is really good. Their escargot is average, the snails are a bit small and they are lost in the butter parsley sauce. Overall this place is a solid choice.
Came during the Olympics after visiting some museums. Good to great food, in a truly French atmosphere. The eggs mayonnaise were incredible--best mayo I've ever had. I had a salad and my husband had the entrecôte. They were satisfactory without being extraordinary. The green beans, though, were super simple and excellent. We split the profiteroles for dessert: Chou pastry, nougat ice cream, semi sweet chocolate sauce, and almond slivers. As memorable as the mayonnaise. Prices were normal for Paris. Service was good, as long as you remember that in France, waiters do not check on you every five minutes and everything takes time.
Very nice service and excellent food. Loved the bar area setup! Duck confit is a 1000000% must get. Escargot was on the small side but very tasty. Their house Cote du Rhône was a great complement to our lunch. Steak and frites was just ok, meat was overdone and not seasoned well. Creme brûlée was just OK. The custard part was pretty cold. Would come back for the duck!
Our 2nd dinner out in Paris on this trip... Victories bistro was better than expected... Reasonably priced... Superb service... Kewl vibe... A bit tight for space and noisy ... We had the wrong salad at first and they replaced it with no complaint or the replacement looking undersized! It looked huge for a tartar + froi-gra salad. No hurry, n' it was just so pleasant... Thus 4 stars seems reasonable.
This is an absolutely wonderful restaurant in Paris. so glad that we found it. You can sit on the sidewalk and enjoy the sights of the city at this little out of the way restaurant. The food is amazing. You can also sit inside in the restaurant bar area. If the weather is agreeable I recommend sitting outside. Service was great. hope to go back to Paris so I can visit here again.

American Tourist here. There are a seemingly endless number of Cafes in Paris and Victoires stands as a solid option. The burning thyme ribeye is quite interesting. A plain jane Ribeye dressed up with some fresh thyme on top that comes served literally on fire. The prices are pretty average for the area. I haven't tried enough cafes in Paris to say with much authority which are the best but I think Victoires is a solid option read more
Came here for dinner. Affordable prices! The steak was cooked perfectly and the fries was so good! The baked chicken was good. The gravy that came with it was good! We ordered the onion soup. It was decent but we definitely have had better. For dessert we got the creme brulee. It was good! Overall the food was good and we would definitely go back. read more

Took a group of 8 people, and everyone really enjoyed this place! It was delicious and well priced. I got the duck confit, the crème brûlée, and the Chardonnay- it was so good, I cleaned my plate off. It's a very small venue, kind of cramped but cozy! The food came out very quickly. read more

Slightly out of the heavy tourist traffic area, the restaurant offers good food at a great price. Recommend their escargots for appetizer and Salmon Tartare, which was the perfect light dinner entree. Lovely French Bistro experience. read more

Being in a city as touristy as Paris, it's often hard to find a meal that competes in both quality and price, but Bistrot Victoires checks all the boxes. Come here if you want to taste delicious, traditional French cuisine at a bargain price. The ambiance is that of a typical French brasserie with both solo diners and larger groups. The waiters speak English if you are not too comfortable in French. I ordered the Salmon Tartare which came with a side salad. The price was absolutely amazing for the impeccable quality and presentation (under 11€). Their wine selection is a good compliment to the meal and is only around 3€ a glass. read more

This place is a must go. When you first walk in the staff is extremely friendly and inviting. The entire staff seemed to be well versed in English so that was helpful to us. The place is cozy and lots of fun chatter going around. I got a Amoretto Sour and Elderflower Martini and both were deliciously sweet. The food here has such reasonable prices, like a steak and fries meal for 12.50 euros. The food comes out super quick and they have an English version of the menu. I love it. read more

Fantastic prices for fantastic meals. The meal would've easily cost us twice as much before tip had it been in any major city in the US. Not only was it affordable, it was great. The wait staff are quick and courteous. The place smells great, is very busy, and is a bit crowded but that all takes nothing away from the high-quality meals. read more
In a city with so many good restaurants to choose, Bistrot Victoires is a cheerful and cozy local bistro that offers great French food at a reasonable price. Located near Place des Victoires and relatively close to the Louvre, if we didn't want to experience gastronomical venues throughout Paris, we would have been happy to have eaten every meal at Bistrot Victoires during a recent 3-day stay! Both solid and flavorful French food and English language-friendly, if you get the chance when in Paris, be sure to visit Bistrot Victoires. read more

Perfect location near the Louvre, 10 to 12 minutes walk. A few minutes faster by bus but the walk is enjoyable to take in the scene of Paris. I got the salmon (raw) tartare and it was delicious. The food is inexpensive and quality is super. My friend got the roasted chicken and hers was yummy too. Only thing is the creme brulee was a bit watered down. I would come again if I'm back in Paris! read more

Three nights in Paris, and three dinners at Victoires! Every meal was different, and each better than the one before. We loved sitting on the sidewalk last night and again for dinner tonight. The staff, especially the manager, was so friendly and generous with explanations for those of us whose French could be improved! My three dinners: Caesar salad for first night's light dinner, goat cheese on toast with salad for the second, and tonight I enjoyed duck confit for the first time. It was crispy on the outside and moist inside. No bite was left! We enjoyed their recommendation for red wine. I also enjoyed a decaf cafe with dessert last night. My dessert was Profitteroles -- two crisp pastries with ice cream on the inside and rich chocolate poured over. So delicious! Tonight we enjoyed sharing an appetizer of six escargot, each dredged in a fresh pesto sauce. We scooped up every bite! Service was friendly and food was terrific! read more

Very good authentic food for your money in a central situation. The place is a typical French Brasserie. The interiors makes a warm and cozy ambience. Our young and prompt waitress was charming and professional. My friend had the steak with fries and I choose the Plat du jour, which was fish (sorry can't remember the sort) on leek served on a delicious cream with herbs. The waitress advised me on a nice glass of French white wine to go with the fish. As dessert we both choose the 4 little dessert all on one plate with a nice espresso shot. Plat du jour + Dessert with coffee + wine = 25 euros. Find another charming place with such simple and good food in the same neighborhood in Paris. I've enjoyed it and I'll come back. read more

Great service and great French food with a reasonable price! Our waiters were friendly and attentive and spoke English. The food was great and it wasn't as ridiculously overpriced as a lot of places in Paris. My husband had the "Meat of the Day" which was beef shoulder that was tender and fell apart like pot roast but more refined in a wine sauce and mashed potatoes (€10,90). I had the duck confit (€12,50) and it was really good but I liked his dish more. We finished our meals with the "coffee and petit desserts" which was an adorable mini sampler of créeme brûlée, a macaroon, a pound cake and chocolate cake all mini size with a shot of espresso for only €6,50. I'd recommend it to anyone in the area! We walked here from the Louvre. read more
Yelp 100 challenge 2020 #6 This one of the most highly rated restaurants in Paris that kept popping up in restaurant searches and in travel blogs. So we decided to try it out. We got there around 8pm and it was crowded!! We had to wait about 5 minutes before a table opened up which worked out for us, but definitely depends on how big your party is. It is a very tight restaurant. I loved the vibe though. The servers were awesome! I got the onion soup and it was the best one I have ever had. I highly recommend ordering it. It's on the appetizer/side menu but it was perfect as a meal for me. read more

I cannot emphasise on how much of a great find this place was. So cozy, cramped (in a good way) like any other French style bistro within the area, the impeccable service and reasonably budgeted meals are what makes this a visitor's favourite spot. My duck confit was simply outstanding. The juiciness and tender meat, with a lightly crispy coating and garlic potatoes made it me and my boyfriend's favourite dish. We were fighting over who got to finish it! My boyfriend's cheeseburger was also wonderful. It was perfectly seasoned and delicious. We ordered some duck terrine as a starter. It was also very well prepared and not too decadent. Just perfectly salted. Our desserts were the best. The profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and an alluring creme brûlée with just the perfect amount of custard sauce and vanilla was memorable. I highly recommend this place. Budget friendly, clean and efficient service before going bar hopping in Paris! read more

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend familiar with this area. WOW! Prices very reasonable and the food presentation, temperature, and taste is amazing! For around 17 Euros I was able to enjoy FRENCH fries with FRENCH mustard and the fish special which had a light seasoning on it, served with leeks and tasty cream sauce. I also had nearly half of 50 ml of chardonnay and water to drink. The dinner was so appealing I forgot to take a photo of it. I will try and venture back here just to try another dish. Very clean and warm interior. As an American the FRENCH staff were very helpful and were able to give us understandable descriptions of the food in ENGLISH, yet if you can speak FRENCH please do and it will make it even more enjoyable. A nice amount of seating for a small yet inviting space. Tables for two up to larger groups are available. I can't say enough how grateful I am that this restaurant was recommended to me. It was well worth the visit! If you are traveling through or are in PARIS, FRANCE, please check this restaurant out! This restaurant is MORE THAN WORTHY of FIVE STARS! read more

Duck confit was amazing. I haven't had much duck but, I was pleased. Steak wasn't that great. We asked for medium. It was rare. And, then when we asked to have it done medium they burnt it. But, it's a chill place & reasonable food. read more

We came here for a casual dinner. I really wanted to try escargot as well. My husband got the duck and I got the steak. We shared an order of escargot. The steak wasn't good, I'll be honest. It was tough and filled with fat and tendons. The duck was really good, and the escargot was shockingly delicious! The staff was pleasant and patient with us. I'd say check it out for a casual dinner but avoid the steak. read more

Such a great experience, the only place we went to twice during our honeymoon in Paris! The service was amazing and the food was great as well. The overall vibe was great too. On the weekend expect a little bit of a wait but they get you seated quickly and it's definitely worth it. Also I'm a vegetarian and my husband is a meat eater and both of our meals both nights were delicious (we ate different things each time). Pro tip: If you're staying near by definitely walk also, the walk from our hotel near Tuileries was quiet and romantic. Can not recommend enough! read more

This place is solid. Don't expect to be mindblown by the gastronomy here, but their steak frites is something I will easily come back for every weekend. It's solid, hits the spot, and you won't find it anywhere else in the city for 11€. There is also something hilariously awesome and unpretentious about asking for mayonnaise and having the server come back with a squeeze bottle. Squeeze bottle of dijon mayo, no less. read more

Great food! Love the atmosphere. Felt very fancy, very French. The place was definitely filled with locals and tourists alike, more of the latter than one would expect for the 1er arrondissement. The prices, too, are better than you could usually find in Paris, especially for food quality. I had a nice glass of Kir to start with - you can select raspberry or peach syrup in lieu of cassis if you so choose! Then, due to only fault of my own, ordered steak tartare, which is not my meal of choice. However, I gave it a try, and the presentation and french fries were both worth raving about. For dessert, my friends and I respectively ordered the chocolate cake, the bananas in chocolate sauce, and the creme brûlée, of course. All desserts were FABULOUS. My chocolate cake was just warm enough to keep the rich chocolate goo inside melty and delicious - and the crème brulée was the best I've tasted, though that isn't saying much.
