My best friend and I were on Bainbridge exploring for the day and we decided we wanted a little…read morewine. Bainbridge Vineyards popped up on Yelp and seemed to be one of the better wineries on the island. There was a little parking lot out front we were able to find parking at. When we left there seemed to be a lot of overflow parking along the gravel path. They had live music playing that late afternoon. We decided to do a wine flight tasting which was a lot of fun. There were seating options outside by the tasting room and music. We ended up sitting back in their more green space on some adirondack chairs. This place felt like it was for all ages. We saw everyone from babies to seniors. The space was such a vibe and it was a wonderful place to catch up on summer stories. We ordered our drinks up front and the woman who served us was kind. It was a seat yourself type of place and bus your own table. I loved how local it felt. I really liked the wines we tried on the flight too! I'd recommend this spot.

The host was very friendly and knowledgeable. We weren't a fan of the mainly white option, and the preselected tasting menu. We sat outside near a heater, luckily if not I would have been cold, on this rainy day. Also they only waive tasting fee with 3 bottles of wine.

We visited Fletcher Bay Winery as a group of 10, including children, and unfortunately the…read moreexperience was extremely disappointing. The issue was not that the winery had expectations for a large group. The issue was the complete lack of communication and the way those expectations were handled. When we arrived, no one informed us that there was a minimum spend requirement or that our group needed to order a certain amount immediately. Several people in our group had already started ordering, including a bottle of wine and a glass of wine, and we were still settling the kids, reviewing the food options, and deciding what else to order. Within just a few minutes of sitting down, staff began pressuring us to order food. Shortly after that, another staff member approached us and told us we needed to clean up after ourselves and meet a minimum spend of around $500. None of this had been clearly stated before we sat down, and we were given no reasonable time to get organized as a group. If a winery has a large-party policy, minimum spend, or specific expectations for families with children, that should be communicated upfront, clearly and respectfully, before guests are seated. Instead, the interaction felt rushed, uncomfortable, and unwelcoming. We had every intention of ordering more wine and food, but the tone and handling of the situation made the experience feel transactional and unpleasant. Fletcher Bay may be a nice spot for smaller groups, but based on our experience, I would not recommend it for families or larger walk-in groups unless their policies are made much clearer and their hospitality improves.

Ambiance in here was quiet, dimmed lights, not too bright and very clean. Matt assisted me that day and was extremely informative overall. He is very patient and kept up with my conversation. You can tell Matt is passionate about the wines this place carries. He was very confident about each wine as he would introduce each pour (I did a wine tasting, including five different wines) I prefer red wine over white and usually more on the sweet side; to be exact- I do love Lambrusco wine. However, all the red wines that I tasted here were very delightful and worth it. Started off with a favorite "Sangiovese" from Walla Walla and Red Mountain 15% alcohol, smooth not too bitter for my likings and is one of the top choices. 5/5 Up next was "Redtail" A Right bank inspired blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Perfect for everyday sipping! Blend: 25% Merlot 61% Cabernet Sauvignon 14% Cabernet Franc) 15.3% alcohol This one would pair well with a nice steak to enjoy. 5/5 Continued with a glass pour of "Condor" Left Bank Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot Alcohol: 14.9% Another delicious red wine that pairs well with steak, grilled meat, BBQ due to the tannins in the red wine this tends to enhance the red meat well. 5/5 "Reserve Merlot" 100% Merlot 14.8% alcohol another delicious red wine pour. This wine is best enjoyed with pasta, seafood and poultry dishes. Very good and smooth as well. 5/5 "Petite Sirah" on the dry side, which Matt stated people aren't usually a fan of but for me, I am not a picky individual and I thought it was delightful for my likings. "Fruit from Kiona vineyard in red mountain" 100% Petite Sirah Thank you for the nice hospitality during my visit, it was worth it and for future reference, I will return here for my wine adventures next time.
