Came for a Sunday brunch on a rainy cool day. Started with the Bloody Mary and it was great. Good level of spice without being overpowering or bland. Food wise the chicken sandwich was good. Juicy and flavorful. The seafood chowder was good I've had better but this one was stilll pretty good.

We stopped in here during happy hour and enjoyed the patio on a great night. A great establishment in the bishop arts district they have a nice bar and patio area. The vibe is great and they have wonderful fish and chips. I got an old fashioned and it was delicious and strong. A wonderful neighborhood Irish pub with multiple locations Dallas.

Fantastic atmosphere. Perfect service. Great for food, drinks, and socializing. Are you thirsty? Old Monk. Are you hungry? Old Monk. Are you lonely? Old Monk. Are you carb deprived? Old Monk. Are you sad? Old Monk. Old Monk is where you need to hang out to be cool, hip and have a better day. Great food selections. Fastest wait staff I've ever had. Really calming and enjoyable old school pub. Go. Now.

Great service. Our waitress was kind and attentive. We met a friend there who lives around the corner and swears by this place. He was not wrong. The place is fairly new to the neighborhood but feels like it's always been there. Great seating both inside and outside. Food was delicious. Food we ordered: eggs Benedict, Old Monk burger, mixed greens chicken salad, grilled chicken sandwich. We didn't have drinks from the bar but will next time we're in town.

So glad to have an Old Monk closer to home. 2nd location is great! Same vibe as the first one on Henderson. Food quality is just as amazing. Service is equally friendly and professional. Front and back patios are kid and dog friendly A couple TVs for sports fans but def not a sports bar Private parking lot as well as street parking. Great addition to the neighborhood!

Happy that they made an oak cliff location. Pretty much what you would expect if you've been to the Henderson location. Amazing service, great food. Prices could be better but they gotta pay rent somehow. Clean restrooms, amazing back and front patio.

A+ Food and service. To me, The Londoner had the best fish and chips. No more. The Londoner needs to be closed (by the health department ). The new sheriff in town is The Old Monk. The Old Monk has been around for years, but they just opened a new place in oak cliff. Same lack of decent parking. But that's canceled out by the excellent food and service. They hire the most polite and attentive staff that you'll meet. The menu is simple. I am a fan of the Fish and Chips. It's superb. I get the 3 piece. I'm a big guy, but I have never been able to finish more than 2.25 pieces of a 3 piece fish and chips. But I get it anyway. This is a great restaurant. They do everything perfect. The parking is not great. Everything else is a 10 out of 10!

Food was really delicious in the ambience is nice. We'd love to come here and sit on the patio. The martinis on Thursdays are seven dollars and very tasty would also recommend the pepper smash.

    The greasy overcooked fish.

My wife and I went in to have dinner and ordered the fish and chips. The server was Real nonchalant and not into it. . Then we get our food and the fish was overcooked and extremely greasy. Dry greasy overcooked fish and breading. The peace my wife did try and eat she had to take a napkin and roll the fish around in to get it to where it was even edible. We live right down the street from there and had been wanting to go and try them out. It's usually pretty busy, but we picked a time when they were not. So we figured the food and service would be a little more up to par. We would have said something to the server, but by the way she was disengaged was a turnoff. We paid and left. I don't know if the grease was old or just cooked too long. My wife didn't even want to take the leftovers home. Super disappointed.

We got a cheeseboard, but if I had to recommend one thing, definitely the fried mushrooms if you like mushrooms. They're huge and the spicy cilantro sour cream sauce is killer! We sat in the indoor/outdoor area, which was my fave. It can take a minute to flag someone down when it's busy, but that felt understandable for how busy they were. Easy place to settle into and lose track of time a bit--just drinks, conversation, and good food without overthinking it.

The Guinness is poured so perfectly it should be in the Louvre. The bartender, Austin (I'm pretty sure that's his real name and not just what he tells customers), has the patience of a saint and the sarcasm of a man who's been asked "Do you have anything like Guinness but less dark?" one too many times. Highlights: The fish & chips were so good I briefly considered converting to Catholicism just so I could thank God properly. The bathroom graffiti is poetic. "Roses are red, violets are blue, I came for a piss and met half the crew." - actual quote. Then you've got Hannah, who's basically the pub's chaos coordinator. She's got blonde hair that could guide ships in a fog and a laugh that echoes like a banshee having a great time. Don't sleep on Wes - He'll nod once, slide you your drink, and if you're lucky, mutter something profound like "Life's short, drink good stout." Then he disappears to polish glasses like he's auditioning for a monastery. Absolute mystery man, 10/10 enigma. And rounding out the crew is Paige, the wildcard. She's got stories that start with "Back in then..." and end with police chases, lost sheep, and at least one exploding still. She'll flirt with your grandma, roast your ex in three sentences or less. There is also this Asian guy that looks like a confused troll with blonde hair. He lives up to the saying once you go Asian it's amasian. Can't forget the blonde girl that's going through the Dallas legacy transition of bottle service to real estate. Shes as good at serving as she is selling real estate. These people run the bar like a well-oiled dysfunctional family. They banter with each other louder than the jukebox, remember birthdays you forgot you told them, and have an unspoken code: if you're having a rough night, they'll slide you a free shot and pretend it was a mistake. If you're being a gobshite, they'll roast you into next week without missing a pour.

It was a few days before Thanksgiving, there was a decent crowd in the bar and everyone including the bartender (who's name I now cant remember because I took so long to write this) were all very friendly and helpful. The bar was warm, cozy and decked out in Christmas decor (and cute bathroom wallpaper). Good beer selection, great food (I literally ate the tikka masala twice during our couple day trip) and they were conveniently open on Thanksgiving after the game and a fun shot wheel, which was both fun to partake in and fun to watch others do. We will definitely be back if we find ourselves back in Dallas.

My friend recommended this on his list of Irish Pubs around here, so I decided to give it a try. For a strip mall Irish Pub, it does take you into another world. Cool entrance that opens up to a horseshoe bar with tons of tables and booths. It was Trivia night, so they only had the Stanley Cup playoff on one TV. Sat down at the bar and ordered my Guinness and reviewed the menu. There were a couple of selections I was interested in (always gravitate to Bangers n' Mash), but went with the fish & chips with French Onion soup. Get these together, because the fish is delicious in the beef broth of the French Onion! It was good, though fish could've used a little more batter with the thick walleye filets. After we paid our bill with a credit card, I noticed that we were charged a 3% credit card fee. That was a first, and likely began in April since our last visit was on 3/24/26 and no credit card fee was assessed. Nowhere on the menu was it mentioned there would be a credit card fee, nor was it articulated by a bartender. That sort of fee makes me wonder what's going on in this establishment.
