We had a party of 19 on a Saturday night and River Hill Grill handled it like absolute pros. We called at 6:30 and our table was ready by 6:35. That alone deserves a moment. The group was 8 adults and 11 boys ages 2-12, aka peak chaos. Endless energy, constant movement, sodas disappearing at Olympic speed while the adults ordered beers and dinner. Our server Jacob was next-level. Calm, unbothered, and genuinely friendly. He never once seemed frazzled, even while handling other tables. Every order came out correct, he brought extra sauces without us even asking, and he joked around with the boys in a way that kept them happy and engaged. And for context. I was a server for 20+ years, so I don't hand out compliments lightly. It takes a lot to impress me. Jacob really did the damn thing. We've loved River Hill Grill for many years, but this night was a true stress test and they absolutely passed with flying colors. Huge shout-out to Jacob for turning what could've been a wild night into a smooth, enjoyable experience for everyone. We'll be back. Haven't been here in a while but found it to be a nice cozy place to have indoor or outdoor eating with a decent amount of choices from their menu. Service was prompt and they were very nice. Specials of the day were discussed and an exchange in our salad to switch the greens used was easily accommodated. Unfortunately, we were hungry and I was delayed in taking a picture of the crab artichoke dip which was tasty with several slices of Parmesan crostini to share. This a local grill with the mix vibe of sports bar, and diner. Simple decor, rustic atmosphere, and friendly staff. Foods we ordered were surprisingly tasty. We liked the crab dip, flat bread, wings, and mac n cheese. Especially the mac n cheese was very savory. Experienced a little lagging in service. Waited for a long time for some hot sauce and couple other things we asked for. Ended up asking a different server to get what we wanted. Also like to note, we went for an early dinner around 4pm, so the restaurant was not busy at all. Therefore , we did not understand what the waitress was so busy for...??? Pricing is reasonable. RHG has been up and down over the years. Seems that over the last couple of years most of their offerings are pretty darn good. I would not call it outstanding but a good neighborhood staple when you don't feel like cooking. One complaint, fairly recently they have instituted a policy of charging for more bread for the crab and artichoke dip. Very shortsighted move IMO. We often get this app, there is never enough bread. Now you have to pay an additional $1.50 for 4 small pieces of toasted bread. EXTREMELY ANNOYING, just add $1 on to cost of app and give folks enough bread. R and I went here for lunch on Saturday to try something new and we were definitely impressed! They have a great patio area for outdoor dining and what seems to be 2 different dining areas. I went with the Margarita Chicken Panini with the house chips. This was such a delicious sandwich. The cheese was melty, the chicken well seasoned, and the pesto very flavorful. My personal wish would be that they use less arugula, but that's just me. R got the Southwest Wrap. He thought it was very tasty and the wrap itself was very fresh. The fries were very good. We just moved away in November but went here a lot because we were living close by, so I need to do a review. Clarksville has a few places to eat but River Hill Grill was our #1 choice for going out. They have some great options on the menu for adults and we really loved the wings but the other menu items always made it a tough choice. The kids menu was slightly limited but has all the things kids like. The restaurant has a bar side and a dining area with sports games on the tvs. They also have a great outdoor patio which was wonderful in the fall season. Kudos to whoever chose the music, as they are always playing good tunes. There was also live music on weekends. Just a comfortable, relaxed vibe in general. We never had anything besides excellent service. The staff were always super helpful and props to the waitress who brought my daughter her own "spooky jar" with lights and skulls in it to decorate our table for Halloween when the dining area in the bar was already full. Our daughter was so sad we couldn't sit in the "spooky section" with all the fun decorations, so the waitress brought the spooky to her. It was really a kind gesture and she was a fabulous waitress every time--remembering our drinks and favorite ways to order things. She had curly brown hair that was so pretty. I wish I could remember her name, but if you're reading this, thank you so much for always being a top notch waitress. You probably didn't know this but we were pretty miserable at the time--we were in the middle of a transatlantic move, and got "stuck" indefinitely and after a summer of moving from hotel to hotel, school finally started and we had to find a place to live so our kids didn't miss school. We were living in someone's basement around the block from RHG. I have all sorts of seasonal decor for the holidays, and our kids were really missing having decorations at home. They were homesick in general anyway, and all of us were frustrated with not having our things and not knowing when we would see our destination. You made coming there a sure bet as far as dinner and service, and you were always so nice to our kids. I just want you to know how much we appreciated it! Fish and chips - delicious fries and tender cod. The accompanying tartar sauce and vinegar balanced the cod, yummily. Devil's margarita- perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Absolutely delicious! My husband and I drove up from Virginia for an event at St. Louis Church. We planned on stopping for dinner at River Hill Grill. The traffic was terrible and we arrived 45 minutes before the event was starting. I asked the host if it would be possible to be served and done in 30 minutes and he assured me they could. It was a bit confusing to me when we first came in, the hostess station seems to behind glass in the entry way (?). It was not very welcoming when we first came in. The restaurant was also pretty dimly lit but that's really where the issues ended for me. Our server was pleasant and efficient, and both my sister and I enjoyed the food. We shared the crab pretzel as our starter, which was quite filling. Both of us ordered a burger as well, I got the veggie burger and she got the b'more burger. We have the swirt steak still as good as since I have it a year I was so disappointed when I purchased the steak couple days ago , the server didn't put the butter sauce in the dish. The steak does not taste good. When I call them the server said only if you request for it, she is lying, I got the steak in prior so many times and you don't have to request it , it come with it . In an update to my review, The staff has always been outstanding, even though the young folks cycle through. They apparently do very well hiring and training the staff. Of special note is the Manager Anil, he is extremely friendly and outgoing. He makes us regular folks feel special. read more

Other than the Crab and Artichoke dip, the food was really good. The dip had way too much Cream Cheese and way too little Crab. They had Christmas songs playing outside on the patio, where nobody was sitting and none inside. They weren't too crowded, and service was okay. We sat in the bar area of the restaurant and it was very crowded as they were doing a fundraiser for a local church and it was half price wine night. Not that there is a correlation but amused me a little. I love the atmosphere -it's very charming and locals seem to love it. We ordered wine first. They have a small but good selection of wine on their list. Cost about $20 with the discount which I thought was a good deal. The server was very personable but in the beginning not overly attentive. After 20 min we ordered some appetizers. Beef strips, Shrimp, and a crab pretzel. Then ordered dinner. First, I was actually surprised to see how much steak they give you on that plate. 3 of us shared and the steak was tender & well seasoned. It was delicious. There is a sauce with it, think garlic aioli -yeah I hope they decide to change it to a horseradish sauce cause it didn't even need to be there. The Jumbo shrimp came out hot and plated beautifully. The sauce was so good. We got six on the plate. The shell was mostly off except for the end of the tail. The crab pretzel was very plain and dull. The pretzel wasn't crispy but not soggy. Just very bland. I would not order this again. For dinners, I ordered a customized burger, friends ordered the Reuben and flatbread. This Burger (cooked medium, with Swiss, Bacon, & Grilled onions) was one of the best burgers I have had. I am a Burger snob and I would give it a 5 star. Juicy, flavorful, hot, and the bun was perfect. I added loaded tots as a side and they were very crispy with the perfect about of queso & bacon. The queso has just a little to much chili season for me but it was good. Our server was much better as the crowd decreased, this made up for the earlier delay. I'm referencing one time in partucar, where i sat in plain view, at a relatively empty bar, and was not greeted for roughly ten minutes.
