    Thanksgiving buffet
    Laura D.

We went for a Thanksgiving buffet, as neither household could host this year and we decided to keep it simple. They did a great job with the food, and there was plenty of it. It was relaxed and casual feeling, and everyone was very nice. I actually really appreciated that they had a minimal staff, allowing most of their staff to be home on the holiday, though the woman running the show was extremely busy - I hope she had a very restful day the next day. I absolutely loved the science theme with the beakers and such. Unfortunately, this isn't in an area that any of us go to normally, or I would enjoy going back and trying some of their regular fare.

Everything from the food to the atmosphere was amazing. The live jazz was the cherry on top. Our server was friendly and attentive. My mom and I enjoyed playing a game while waiting for our food. The wait was not long and I definitely will be coming back to try other entrees. Overall, this was an enjoyable dining experience.

Second visit, first one during brunch. Jazz wafting through the air while playing board games is pretty cool. It was after 2:00, so we chose to order from the menu instead of the brunch buffet. Though the buffet smelled good, there were no regrets! My bourbon chicken was both tasty AND healthy. There was one waitress and one hostess and they worked well together. The amount on the check was one of our favorite parts, it was less than we expected!

Came for happy hour - $5 glasses of wine were calling my name after a tough Wednesday. We sat in the bar area and the bartender greeted us within seconds with menus and a smile. We were super excited to try the Brussels but were worried about being able to order from the full menu at the bar but were pleasantly surprised to find that we could! We ended up ordering the chicken bites from the HH menu and the Brussels from the normal menu. Our bartender was attentive even with a full bar area to attend to by himself and the food came out quick. The Brussels had honey old bay on them with a sriracha aioli to dip and were honestly PERFECTION. I will be coming back for more and if you're smart you'll order them too. We went with Korean BBQ for the chicken bites and they did not disappoint. They had no spice but all the flavor. My only complaint is that they either burn incense or have hookahs in the restaurant and we kept getting whiffs of it while trying to enjoy our food/drinks. We will 10/10 get more food but probably will do takeout next time!

12.21.23 Hubby and I had a $25 gift card we won and a Local Flavor coupon to use so decided to stop in for dinner. This restaurant was formerly Centre Park Grille. Our server, Ryan, had someone training with him. He was very friendly upon greeting us. He informed us about their happy hour menu. Upon perusing the menu, I asked him for his recommendations between the tacos and boneless wings on the HH menu or the brisket grilled cheese sandwich off the regular menu. He recommended the latter. Unfortunately, it was just average. The ciabatta bread was too thick and the sandwich was dry. It needed more butter and perhaps more cheese or a sauce. The fries were good, crisp on the outside, but soft on the inside. I took half of it home and had it for dinner the next day. The sandwich was hearty. It tasted better the second day as I added more butter and regrilled it. I also added a touch of Worcestershire sauce. Hubby got the Hot Nashville Sandwich which he enjoyed although he said the pickles which he doesn't like infected it. Lol. Overall our dinner was decent, but nothing stood out. Helpful notes: -Happy Hour menu M-F from 2-6 pm -Daily Specials available -Check Local Flavor for coupons

This is a chill local restaurant , low key atmosphere, friendly service, convenient parking. We ordered 3 appetizers, brisket grilled cheese, fish and rice, and signature burger. Fish was fresh and tasty. Burger was on point. Brisket grilled cheese was a little dry, can use more sauce. Mushroom appetizer was a little overly sauced and a bit too sweet. Chicken drumsticks appetizer was juicy with a little kick which was nice. Remember to try out their signature cocktails, quite unique compared to the common ones. Do recommend!

So the husbae and I visited Periodic Table today as we've been on this, "let's eat more at home" deal, especially with him having recently retired and me being a federal employee (IYKYK). Unfortunately, we were disappointed. I won't bash the business (I typically don't do that) but there were many reasons that disappointed us: the wait time to be acknowledged - see photo of the overall empty dining room (another patron left due to this; sad because outside of us and the other patron, there was a 12 person party in the back), the time it took to be served, and lastly the food itself. I ordered an apple martini (my favorite), meh, it was okay. We ordered the pepperoni flatbread (to share) it was soggy and lacked decent flavor, 2 cups of "cream" of crab anything but creamy (it was remade without us asking, so, thank you - haven't looked at it nor tried it) and made with backfin or claw crab meat, and the wings despite a great flavor (lemon pepper) were flash fried and underwhelming (we also requested all flats, but did not receive them). All in all, we likely will not go back. That was $70 (with tip) down the tube.

WOW! Howard County hidden gem! I've lived here over 20 years and never experienced this place. Family was SO Satisfied I had to comment on our experience. My NYC son loved the vibe and theme. I very rarely post any reviews. Just got back from DC National Harbor and had 2 horrible family dinners the were very overpriced Greeting was good and seated at our table. Waiter was very attentive and communicated well We got our water immediately and drink order to follow. Beers, Martini and Old Fashions were very good. We got wings and Brussel Sprout apps. Wings were solid and Sprouts were good well with nice flavors, bacon would have been nice. Entrees were excellent all the way around. Steak, Pot Roast, salad, Chicken, Shirt Ribs. If my wife ate her entire meal that says it all. My Carrot's on the Short ribs were the best. No room for desert, best meal for me in 2024 and travel all year round. Check it out, It will not disappoint!!

I reviewed before having only had happy hour food and drinks, but after going for regular food I felt like my experience was different. I think everything in my previous review holds true, but the full price food just isn't worth the price especially because there is nothing special about the service or ambiance.

We came here initially thanks to the offer for a free appetizer that was marketed in the Wine in the Woods informational magazine. This neighborhood spot was a pretty basic bar and restaurant with super friendly staff and fresh food. We ordered the steak and cheese flatbread - YUM!!! - I ordered the garden salad with shrimp. He ordered a burger to keep simple. Jordan was our server and was very attentive. Yummy food for a local spot but nothing special to drive from DC. Thanks for the free and yummy appetizer!

I've been here a couple of times and every time the device and food was wonderful. On the outside you'd never think this would be a foodie gem, but what was it we were taught growing up, never judge a book by its cover. And boy does this book have a lot of gems (dishes). My two favorite dishes are the pork belly buns and the burger. They also have a good IPA list and they all pair perfectly well with the burger. They also have a pretty decent happy hour that starts at 3 (sweet!). Trust me you won't be disappointed.

Stopped in for lunch and the portions here were crazy big. The chicken wings were a meal in themselves. When we ordered soup and a half sandwich, the half sandwich was the size of regular bread slices and the brisket was piled on. I forgot to tale a photo of the sandwiches, but the boxed photo is half of our half sandwiches. The take home made two more lunches for 2. Will definitely try this place again. Out server was the bar tender and he was great.

There's a lot to like about Periodic Table... Creative food, craft cocktails, reasonable prices... all in the largeish space with a bar and some outdoor seating, that has previously housed several restaurants in this convenient-but-hidden spot off MD-108. There's a good-value happy hour, rotating drink menus & specials, and seasonal fare. I LIKE it. Which might make it seem odd that my next comment is it feels too...suburban. It has that unpolished feel of a restaurant launched in the 'burbs without the competition of a local F&B scene. The drinks are tame. The food flavors muted. The decor bland, almost an afterthought. It's struggling with service levels both times I've been. Too many TVs at the bar, not enough people chatting. It's totally fine, but definitely not "popping". Considering the other aspects of being suburban (easy access from the highway, a short drive for those of us in the county, easy parking), this place is a win for anybody living nearby. Their outdoor tables would make for a pleasant early escape from work once it's warm again. I just wish it was a little more... polished.

Veggie burger from another angle. Lots of risotto.

Those of you who…read moreread my reviews know I typically review either really good or really "not so good" restaurants. I'm breaking my own rules, because I feel the 3.9 rating is pretty accurate, with one 5 star + exception. This was a business lunch and a convenient location so there we were. The duck fries as an appetizer were good but needed to be seasoned with a little more salt. I had a strawberry salad with some grilled chicken that was good with the greens, but dry as the desert with the chicken and borderline inedible. Here's the twist!!! My two compadres both had the grilled cheese and lobster sandwich. They both looked at me sheepishly and said, you f ed up!!! William was kind enough to break off a substantial bite and let me try it. Angels sang, children wept, and I almost passed out! It was the kind of perfection we all agreed we would have eaten 5, maybe 6 of these unnaturally awesome sandwiches until we passed out! 3.5 Star service, 4 Star ambience, and some 10 Star bites! The staff are nice, but service and the kitchen seemed a bit slow on a Sunday early afternoon towards the very end of brunch despite the area we were seated only had a few tables filled. The Crab Cake Eggs Benedict was nothing special - feeling like a flat, single-note dish.. Perhaps it was that the hollandaise sauce lacked the acidity (usually from lemon juice) to brighten the dish. Or, that the nod to Maryland - the Old Bay honey - drizzled around the edges of the dish wasn't enough to elevate it to something that is savored with each bite. The Fluffernutter Blondie is a good dessert choice if you love blondies and peanut butter. Although, it was a bit drier than I'd like, the texture was still soft.

Oddly enough, it was pretty quiet, but they do have the games on for anyone looking for a low-key spot to watch. We were seated within 5 minutes, which I appreciated. We didn't get the rundown of the daily specials (yet overheard them being given to the booth behind us), and a few small service details slipped through--but I'm giving him grace based on his newness. One thing I noticed from Yelp reviews is that bread is usually served automatically. We had to request it, especially after seeing tables seated after us get theirs first. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. We ordered several appetizers, and honestly, they were filling enough to be a full meal: * Ribs - Flavorful, tender, and genuinely falling off the bone. The portion sizes were a bit inconsistent--some pieces were cut shorter than others--but the texture was on point. I'd definitely return for these. * Brussels Sprouts - Patrick didn't mention they were shareable, which would've been helpful. I did like the flavor, but in hindsight I'm glad we pivoted to... * Crab Dip - This one missed for me. The flavor leaned more tuna-ish than crab-forward. Not my preference, but you may feel differently. * Shrimp in Spicy Butter - Definitely spicy, but somehow still flavorless. More like spicy water than a seasoned butter sauce. The one bonus? They were served piping hot--exactly how I like my food. * French Fries - Hand-cut and tasty. A solid win. Unfortunately, everything except the shrimp came out lukewarm, which took away from dishes that could've been great. Temperature matters! On the drink side, though? Hits all around. The fresh-pressed beet juice was fantastic, and the sweet tea was also on point. We skipped dessert only because we were full, but I'm already planning to come back specifically to try it--along with the ribs and fries again. Overall, I'm hoping this was just an off day. Elliott's Kitchen has potential, and I'd like to see it shine on the next visit

I'd never had them with crème fraiche, it was a nice change and the mild tanginess with the creamy texture complimented the Cakes well. I ordered the Main Street with Weisswurst, a Pretzel and plain Spätzle. It was my first, the veal's flavor is understated in comparison to Bratwurst or Knackwurst (not on the menu) and was a pleasant changeup. The Pretzel was little disappointing while it was a decent pretzel, it lacked the crisp crust and distinctive flavor I expected. As evident by the rating while worthy of note, it's not a game changer. I'd ordered a large plain Spätzle, which was two regular portions, but was served Spätzle with cheese I tasted it and it wasn't my thing, which is not to say it was bad, I just don't care for cheese in dishes like that. Our server swapped one cheese for plain (my wife had happily stolen the other) and enjoyed the replacement. I found that the grilled onions gave it a nice homey flavor. Mistakes happen and it turned out to be a win in the end. We shared a couple of desserts and by far, my favorite was the Black Forest Cupcake. We also ordered a plethora of appetizers to share amongst the table. We had the hummus trio , charred octopus, summer heirloom tomatoes, zucchini fritters and the charred octopus. All of the appetizers were very good. The zucchini fritters were so good, we ordered a second order. For dinner pretty much everyone did the cast iron short rib with the puff pasty. That was basically Sunday dinner in a pan. The short rib was nice and tender and the flaky puff pasty to soak up the gravy. Very delicious. The avocado chicken dish is enjoyable, if you like a creamier milder version of a chicken alfredo. The wings and fries are done perfectly. The best spicy pizza I've had in a while was here. I could go on and on. We hosted a family member's graduation dinner at this location with a group of 10 pleased with the food and service. I love when I come to a restaurant and I can relax because the staff knows what to do without you asking. Also, they have a dinner party series with that runs for three hours. I don't typically sign up for restaurant emails, but because they are doing really interesting things here I definitely want to stay in the know!

We love trying new breweries where we go and this seemed like the best one in Columbia we haven't been to. I had high expectations but they by far exceeded it. This may be the best brewery we have been to. They have so many offerings and we loved everything. Some of the stuff is barrell aged and expensive but worth it. We also loved their taco offerings which includes some fun vegetarian options like like spicy fried mushrooms and fried avocado as well as our first ever bison meat taco along with mahi mahi, chicken tinga, and carne asada. We did not expect it but it may be the best tacos we've had. We had their seasonal strawberry margarita which may have been the best margaritas we have had along with an excellent local rose wine. Ambiance is nice and upscale for a brewery and our service at the bar was very quick and some of the most attentive we have had. We certainly look forward to returning.

The place was packed on a Friday evening and we eventually got two seats at the bar with the help of a friendly patron. The place is large, loud and lively. One of the side rooms is weirdly as bright as a school room. Speaking of weird this brewery is located in the back of an office park... The staff was friendly and hustling. I must say most of their beers are not my favorite. Too many sours and other beers that feel like they are trying too hard to be exotic. I tried their Shore pilsner and even that was a bit odd. I like lighter beers like pilsners, kolsches and hefeweizens so if I lived here I would try some of their non-beer options because I would be back for the food.
