The barbershop is not too far from my job so I go after work. Heavy is who cut my hair. While the haircut was decent It was extremely rough. I have cuts on my forehead as well. The barber seemed to be intentionally rough for no reason. I will no longer spend my money here. I gave this place a try twice and cannot give them my money again. The shop is a small mom & pop shop with an intimate close setting that makes for a fun, hip family environment! All of the barber stylists are friendly and all work together as a team and don't compete. GREAT BARBERSHOP!!! All the barbers are friendly, professional and skilled. The barbershop is located in a great area of long beach surround by little shops and restaurants. Vicki is my barber and the owner of the shop, she is very flexible with her time and is willing to come in late or open the shop early. Kid friendly, they do not allow cussing! Barbers take appointments and walk-ins. I have never seen anyone wait a long time for a cut. I've been going to this shop for over 3 years and I don't have one complaint. Went to this barber shop for the first time today. Cool shop, however, the idiot that cut my hair is totally incompetent! He seems to be a nice guy, but easily detracted and WILL mess you up. I don't know his name but he is the shortest guy in the shop, he is in the second seat next to the barber with the dreads. The other barbers were professional and seemed to do good work. Caution! The guy that cut my hair absolutely destroyed my hair cut. He kept saying how he'd been cutting for a long time but i had patches when i left & he never tapered it like i told him. I watched the other guys cut hair & their clients left looking great. I totally regret going to him. Im sure they're good but if u go DO NOT let the heavy set man with red eyes (like he has pink eye in both eyes ) & a grayish film over one eye cut ur hair. KEEP LOOKING! New to the area and looking for a good barber so went here based on reviews and proximity. I can cut my own hair with a #3 guide on the sides and a #4 on top, do my own fade and I'm done. Easy and, if you are familiar with the guides you will know that it is pretty short. What I can't do is clean-up the hairline all around so I look for a good barber. I have never had SO MANY THINGS WRONG with one haircut in my life. Sideburns uneven. Hair length uneven. Hairline was all over the place. Clipper had a broken took and was scratching my neck. When I mentioned this he just flipped the clippers over and kept going. WORST HAIRCUT EVER IN THE WORLD, and I have in fact traveled the world. KEEP LOOKING! I tried to not give any stars but the system wont allow that. read more

Vickie's barbershop is a unique barbershop: you can schedule an appointment, or walk in looking a mess and walk out looking clean and fresh; all the barbers are professional and friendly; it's not your everyday barbershop, professionals, visitors to Long Beach, and her customers will tell you, they are the best. Vickie and her staff have been cutting my hair for over 30 years. Today I got my hair cut and ran into my old friend Don, he lives in the Corona area and drives the 50 plus miles to get his hair cut every two weeks; I recently retired and moved to Kansas City, the barbers there are so, so. However, when I come back to Long Beach, I am able to schedule an appointment with Vickie, or have one of her other barbers cut my hair and walk out liking fresh. Pretty torn here because Angelo is a great barber but he's very likely to blow you off from being so unorganized. He gave me his number and I'd set up appointments with him and their is literally a 50/50 chance he might make you wait another 60 mins or more. He has done this to me multiple times. Once I made an appointment and sat in the shop for an hour only to find out from another barber that he isn't coming in at all... The third time was a charm I sent him a text and said "You blowing me off again and again is a good way to lose a good customer" He wrote me back some something but I didn't even read it I deleted his number and went to Deluxe Barber and Shave on Pine Ave and haven't looked back. read more

This spot is in a nice corner and has a lot of foot traffic. I like the fact that it has a lot of loyal customers. Just sitting here for 25 mins getting my hair cut i saw a lot of people come in and out and the barbers all knew the customers by name. And the ages were from teens to 40's. The haircut that i got was ok. The front was great the back was a little off. But it was my first time there and my head needs to get used to cutting. So i will diff update review. Oh and the haircuts i saw going out of this place was sick. I mean some of these barbers know how to really get down. Im in the finance business so im a suit guy all the time so i cant be seen with some crazy looking cuts but i was impressed by what they can do. read more

I loved coming here and visiting with my favorite hairstylist Leah. She has done my hair for video shoots and concert performances. She always does an amazing job. I love that she can whip up ethnic hair with no worries. Not every hair stylist can do this feat. It was a fun barber shop to visit because it has a old school barber shop feel where barbers actually have time to work on clients hair and speak with them instead of feeling rushed. I love that it is located in downtown Long Beach making it easily accessible. The temperature was comfortable inside building and there was parking directly in front of store which was nice. Dont let the name fool you this is not a location only for males. Leah can do both males and females hair. I go to her for hair cuts and styling. I highly recommend Leah. Wait is always long for a walk-in. Being from out of town I was inspired and impressed with the old man on the other side of the shop in the back. I'm a Baby Boomer with fine, straight hair that's receded and is thinning on the top. Consequently, I need a barber/stylist who is very skilled with the scissors to make it attractive. I am here to recommend Michelle at Victorious Barber Studio! I found the shop on Yelp. Despite its high ratings, I hesitated because nearly all the photos featured black customers with very fine tapered styling. So, I called ahead to inquire as to whether they had stylists who understood my hair type. Michelle answered the phone and assured me that they had multi-ethnic clients. I asked for her when I got to the shop and she told me to sit down and tell her what I wanted. She understood my goal right away and kept asking questions throughout the styling to see if I liked the length. Then, she proceeded to 'fine tune' (her words) the style and the result was very pleasing. Five stars for the lady who styles my hair for my ego and not hers! I'll be back. read more

My first experience with Leah didn't go as planned and I left with a cut I was unhappy with. Victorious Barber Shop generously invited me back to fix my cut. I came back to Leah and she took her time to understand what I wanted to then do an excellent job cleaning me up. I can count on one hand the number of barbers that I have had in my life, this is the best. Victorious is my last stop. It's a one stop shop, I'm a father of three, two girls (11&5 and son (1yr) and we all are able to have our hair done. My daughters love going and interacting with everyone at the shop, my son is getting used to it. I have great memories of going to the barber shop with my father and believe that I'm creating the same wonderful memories with my children. My grandson sat for over an hour and no one said hello, can we help you? No one even bothered to say anything. Two barbers went on lunch, one came back and took a shit, and then prepared to cut someone else's hair who had just walked in. I will never ever ever return to this establishment again. I called the shop to see if they accepted walk-ins the man who answered was not professional at all but I thought ok maybe he's having a bad day I'll give him that! With the name of the shop being Victorious I still felt like I couldn't go wrong. Needless to say the shop is unprofessional the paint is mix matched,buckets of dirty water from a leak, not to mention the music that's played in that place it's way to loud I felt like I was having to scream to explain my hair cut..one minute cursing rap sexual songs to christian music, I guess but I had my wife and kid with me. I'm new to the area and looked to Yelp for pointers to find a new barber. Shows you, to better look for businesses that have had more reviews than this butcher - oh, sorry - barber shop! I have not had a less professional hair cut in my life! My barber (I neglected to get his name because I'm never going back there), I am sure, never has touched a pair of scissors in his professional career. I am using the terms "professional" and "career" loosely here. If all you want is an extremely short buzz cut with no styling whatsoever by somebody who starts to clean and oil his equipment while his customer is already sitting in the chair and repeats that several times throughout the procedure, who chews candy loudly and coughs right down onto your head, who shaves your head with no regards to your instructions and then charges you $20 - then "Victorious" is your kind of place! I am not very demanding when it comes to my head! My hair is so fine and thin - there's little you can do in terms of styling. But over the years I have realized that there is a major difference in how your hair looks a couple of weeks after the last cut! That's what I am paying a barber for! I can run a buzzer over my head, chop everything to the same length myself. And that's all you get at this place. I had a bad feeling a few minutes into it! But what can you do? Let me start off by saying that this is a review long over due. I have been coming to victorious barber shop for the past 10+ years. The atmosphere has not change the whole time I've been going there. I started coming here when I use to live about a 5 minute walk away and, now living about 45 minutes away I still make every effort to continue to come here. Vicki (owner) haze been cutting my hair this whole time and has not lost her touch at all. No matter where I've cut my hair before nothing can compare to the way it looks neat and crisp when I step out. Her son Angelo had even jumped into the scene and as you know let le many other things talent runs in the family. It is a great old school feel barbershop, family friendly and able to cut any type of hair. I believe they even have a stylist that does female hair as well.
