Their pricing was similar to the competitors, but what set them apart was that they offered unlimited pier depth per section. Other companies had limits--for example, up to 20 feet, then an additional charge per foot after that. I'm glad I went with Groundworks because several of my piers ended up going 90 feet deep across 16 sections. With another company, that could have cost me significantly more. I also had their gutter guard system installed (similar to a French drain, though they claim it's better), along with a vapor barrier and mold treatment. I will say, if you have a serious mold issue, I'd recommend hiring a dedicated mold remediation company instead. I did have an issue with the mold spray, but after calling a couple of times, I was able to speak with a manager who surprisingly took my concerns seriously and resolved the issue. The salesman who came to my house, Randy S., was excellent--very thorough and knowledgeable. He always answered my calls and would text be back in a reasonable timeframe. One thing I didn't like was the same-day discount tactic. They present you with a price, then offer 10% off (or whatever discount they choose) if you sign that day. It puts pressure on you to make a major decision on the spot, which is difficult when you're spending over $50,000. There is a three-day cancellation window, but some people may see the discount as more of a sales tactic than a real benefit. I also want to mention the foreman on the job, Jose G. He was great--he answered all of my questions and even let me watch and learn a little while they were working. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience. Their warranty is transferable, which is a nice bonus, and hopefully I won't have any more issues going forward.

Had a very bad experience with this company. A guy knocked on my door and said he had done work…read moredown the street and asked if I wanted an estimate for my front stoop which needed work. He made it seem like he had done my neighbor's stoop, but after checking he had not worked for them at all. He proceeded to rip up my first step, which was crumbling, and show me that more work was needed. I asked him to do what he needed so he could get me a real estimate for the job. He then ripped up 3 more steps making the whole stoop inoperable. He then quoted me $28,000 to fix what he had damaged (but again, the underlying slab was crumbling so the dude wasn't entirely off base). I asked him for an email of the estimate because I wanted to get competing estimates, which is the industry standard practice. He tried to pressure me on the spot to agree to get the job started for $25,000. I was shocked and reiterated that I need a written estimate so that I can get competing bids for the job. He called me later that day to say he could do the job for $4,300. I asked him again to send me an email estimate. No estimate was sent. I called back and talked to someone else at the company asking for the estimate and still they didn't send anything. My guess is they just want to walk away from the whole bad experience they caused. If this happened to me, it is happening all the time. How you do anything is how you do everything.

They came back after that did a bit more very messy work,which I pointed out and then he comes back asking me to write him a check (Jordan Walsh) saying they needed to pay their workers. He begged me for the money, and I wrote him a check which he cashed at a check cashing place. (That roused my suspicion). Never came back once I paid them the last check, with most of the work done, but garbage left and the whole of my lawn destroyed. i HAD TO HIRE ANOTHER CONTRACTOR TO FINSIH THEIR INCOMPLETE JOB AND TO REPAIR SOME OF THEIR REALLY SHABBY WORK.
