You know those rocks that come out of nowhere on the highway? Well, one of them met my Kia and a chip turned into a mega crack along the bottom of my windshield. Oof. I started searching for repair/replacement folks and found Victory. They were one of the more reasonably priced places and they give back to the community so that kinda sealed the deal. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day and the technician (is that what we call them? I don't know car things...) was able to come to my residence to replace my windshield. It took about an hour and woohoo good as new. Better even. The employee was friendly and helpfully answered all the questions I had about the service. I brought my Corolla into Victory. After diagnosing the problem they called and told me that the total cost would be $1800 with the cost of the part at $1100. They charged me $189.99 for testing. I found an OEM part from my Toyota dealer for (ironically) $189. Called my dealer and they will install the part for $550 including parts and labor. First time my dealer was less expensive than a mechanic. read more

We came to the Fridley Victory after our old shop let us down a few times in a row and I've been so impressed. It seems like the 2 options you have with shops are the shops that just want you in and out as fast as possible or the shops that try to take advantage. This shop is efficient but not in a hurry and have yet to recommend something to me that didn't actually need to be taken care of. The guys in the office are knowledgeable and friendly and the service techs do a thorough yet efficient job. So glad to have found a local shop that we can use. read more

They will make up things to try to scam you out of money. Took my car there for brake pads and was quoted $5000 because they found a bunch of things wrong with the car. That seemed fishy to me so I decided to get a second opinion. Next mechanic wasn't able to find any of the "problems" Victory claimed my car had. He was able to do the brake pads and saved me thousands of dollars. Don't go here unless you want to waste money on nonexistent "problems" with your car. read more

Work Completed Date: March 07, 2015 Hire Again: No Approximate Cost: $307.00 Description Of Work: I brought my vehicle in for repair, specifically stating brake issues and noise coming from the front of the vehicle. Later that day I received a phone call stating that the issue was a rear brake line and agreed to do the repair. Unfortunately the service was not performed well and was severely inadequate because within about two miles of leaving their shop with said repaired vehicle my front driver side tire completely fell off. When I returned to the shop, Dan, the store manager, claimed that they never removed the front tire for the inspection or the repair. Dan claimed that the responsibility fell on another shop who rotated my tires 3 weeks earlier. After sending Victory Auto a complaint letter they reluctantly agreed to put the tire back on at no charge and cover the tow. It took several additional reluctant conversations to get them to fix the fender that was damaged. I picked up my car about a week later, Dan couldn't even look me in the eye when I came into the shop and when he drove my car around to the front. While driving home I noticed that my brake peddle was going further down than normal and that a new noise was now coming from the front of my car when I turned left. I emailed Jason, the general manager for Victory Auto the following morning and we agreed to bring my car to their Brooklyn Park location on Monday to be looked at. I didn't want to wait till Monday and wanted a second opinion so I took it to another shop. The new shop reported that 1) Victory Auto neglected to properly clean corrosion from my caliper brackets (from additional brake work that was done at Victory Auto in November). 2) Victory Auto neglected to bleed rear proportioning valve, resulting in air in the break hydraulic system. 3) Victory Auto neglected to secure the said repaired brake line. Out of 5 brackets that the other brake lines are secured to, the new one that Victory Auto installed was only secured on one of those brackets. I emailed this information to Jason, the general manager as well as some photos showing additional damaged caused by my tire falling off and some molding that their body shop didn't put back onto the frame. Jason's only reply to the other shops comments of Victory Autos carelessness and my photos was that I could return to the body shop to have the molding put on if i'd like. read more

Would recommend to anyone looking for fair and honest work. I always bring my business here. A while back I had a busted glass on my side mirror. It took a little bit for me to figure out what I needed and I accidentally told them the wrong part to order, but once it was cleared up, they had the part in ASAP. I went in this past Monday (around 5p) to get my yearly Uber inspection and they told me they couldn't pass me because of my brake pads and tread on two of my tires. Thinking this would take a couple days, they informed me they could get it done the next day and they had it finished by 12p on Tuesday. Solid business and work ethic. I fully support them read more

My car broke down while I was taking my mom to an appointment. I called the dealership and was told they wouldn't be able to look at it for 10 days. My brother had been to Victory Auto Service and Glass in Fridley in the past, so I contacted them. In less than 24 hours they had me on my way! Every one I worked with was great. They were very helpful. They did great work and I thought the price was reasonable. They definitely have a new customer! read more

I would not recommend this shop. We brought our Jeep in and was told we needed a new fuel filter and the job would be over $600. The manager said its a huge job because the tank has to be removed because the pump is in the tank. He then said the job would be nearly $700 if we wanted them to replace the fuel filter too..why $75 more labor for this is beyond me. When the work was done we checked underneath and found the tank was never taken off (rusted bolts never touched). When we called, the manager said they found a way to do it without removing the tank..he said it is their policy to estimate jobs based on worst case scenarios. Of course the bill was never adjusted and he refused to consider this... saying he only made $30 on the whole job. What's worse, checked with another shop for the heck of it and they said they would have done the whole this whole job (with filter) for over $250 less. Seriously, avoid this place. read more

I've been taking my car to Victory for almost 10 years now. In fact, everyone in my family takes their vehicles to Victory. The staff are trustworthy, knowledgeable, and friendly - always asking about your day and remembering past conversations you've had. I appreciate their candor - telling me what I should consider having done with my car, as well as what's coming up for maintenance, but they're never pushy about it. When I'm on a tighter budget, they work with me on timing to get something done at a later date. Also, I appreciate that they are always offering coupons every time I come in, even allowing me stack them for multiple services. That's great service! Also, I really enjoy the perks they offer for working with them. If I'm running short for time and need to get to a meeting, they've offered loaners free of charge. Once they even allowed me to run out without paying, and took payment over the phone later that day. When I had a new puppy that couldn't be left at home for hours on end, they allowed me to have her in the waiting room with me. Speaking of the waiting area - it's comfortable, clean, and offers free refreshments. Overall, I just want to say a long overdue thanks to these guys - they've taken great care of my car over the years and I appreciate the work they do. The only thing that could make the experience better is a free car wash after each service...something to consider! :) :) read more

My family has been coming here multiple times, and this place has one of best customer service I've seen at an auto repair shop. They will try to get you in that day if you desperately need something fixed but they usually can get you an appointment within 3 and when they say 10am, they take the car at 10am. You're not there wasting time. I've gone there 3 times this month for 2 separate cars to get tired plugged because of nails and I highly recommend the professionalism plus they give out coupons! I don't usually review auto repair shops but I had to for this because of the abnormally great experience I had. read more

We will never take our vehicles anywhere else! I know nothing about cars and could easily be snowed into paying a ridiculously high price to get something fixed. Last week, my son brought his car in to get an oil change at a place close to his work. When he came back to pick up his car, they told him he had a broken coil and needed almost $2600 worth of work done. His hours were recently cut and he panicked. He called me and I told him we would take it to Victory and see what they said. I have had several repairs done there before,and completely trust their service and pricing. Chad was amazing. Not only did he explain everything in a way I could understand, he gave us options based on pricing. These guys and gals are the real deal. Their customer service is outstanding. They warranty their work and answer all of your questions with a smile. They are humble and kind and not condescending when you don't have great knowledge about cars. Inexpensive oil changes, fast service, and the friendliest experience I've ever gotten when getting my car worked on!

I called victory auto and glass yesterday on short notice because my weatherstripping on my windshield had come undone. They weren't sure if it would be an easy fix or require replacing the window entirely, but they offered to have a tech over to their brooklyn park location to look at it within the hour that I called. All of the staff were very polite and helpful, and the tech offered to try gluing the stripping back in to see if it would stay. It did and voila! He charged me a reasonable amount for his time and supplies. I was very grateful to not have a huge problem of replacing the window entirely, although I'm sure they would have been just as helpful and efficient. Their waiting room was also very comfortable and well-stocked with complimentary popcorn, soda and coffee. I'll definitely be coming here if I had any future issues! read more

As a single mom it has always been intimidating, sometimes scary going into shops and people taking advantage of me not knowing much about cars. Then I found Victory Auto, they have been so honest and reliable, they always give a great and fair price , you... know what they are telling you is the truth, even if it hurts, like a broken transmission. They are timely and will do their best to get you in when you need to get in and treat every customer with the grace and respect! This place used to be pretty good. Not so much anymore. They didn't follow the service manual on an axle replacement, didn't bother replacing the transmission seal, and so it leaked all over when I got it home. To their credit, they did the job again, only charging me extra for the seal itself, but they should have gotten it right the first time. But everyone makes mistakes, so I took my other car in for a transmission service. I found out they power-flush transmissions and refuse to just do a drain and fill as per manufacturer recommendations. Power flushing is faster and therefore more profitable, but it's not so great for the car. Then the guy tried to hard-sell me on a power steering flush. The classic "I would never let anyone in my family that I care about drive a car without flushing the power steering fluid" line of bull. You don't have to change power steering fluid other than manufacturer recommendations, and this car was 25,000 miles away from the recommended change interval. The only other time you fool with the fluid is if there's a leak. They're out for cash now. I'll now be going elsewhere for the stuff I don't do myself. read more

I recently took my car here because of acceleration issues. They got me in same day and within hours had ran a diagnostic test and found the problem. They easily could've done the work there and charged me for it, but they were very honest and said that it would probably be covered by my warranty if I took it in to the dealership. They ended up not even charging me for the visit and even gave me advice when I called them the following day with a question. I have never had anything but great experiences at Victory (my parents also bring their cars here) and I would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of auto work, big or small! Side note.. I had my dog with me when I dropped off my car and they were so nice to him and even gave him a treat. In my opinion, anyone who is nice to my dog is a friend of mine! :) read more

I hit a pothole yesterday and my tire immediately went flat. Luckily I was able to pull into SA right after. I attempted to change the flat and put my spare on, but the tiny & cheap, joke-of-a-jack that came with my 2018 Honda Civic couldn't hold up my car and neither myself nor another person who came to help could get that jack in the right spot, my car kept falling forward after it was lifted past a certain height, hitting the exposed roter right into the concrete. So this stranger that had been helping me, decided to walk across the street to the closest auto shop and ask to use one of their more heavy duty car jacks and they said no(even though my car at SA was within pointing distance, didn't matter) He then walked a few yards further to Victory and they borrowed it to him no fuss, no problem! So he wheeled it across the busy intersection and what do u know-it was just what was needed to lift the car up enough to finally get my spare on. I watched as the guy wheeled it back to them right after we were done with it. Long story short, I don't know what I would've done if I didn't get to use that jack that had finally done the trick(I probably woulda had to have my car towed) I later called Victory and spoke with the guy who lent the jack to the guy who helped me and he said "he was happy to help" and I just thought that was awesome of him! I had an issue with my alternator with my car and brought it over to have them take a look at it. They charged me fifty bucks to do a diagnostic and told me exactly what was wrong with my vehicle. The guy that helped me over there was extremely helpful and answers questions for do it yourselfers or people looking to have them do the work. You can definitely count on them to give you honest advice. He even helped me replace my car with a new battery so I could drive it home to work on it. In the twenty first century this is the kind of customer service you want when talking to auto companies. I will be back again for any future auto maintenance needs! read more

If you're looking for honest and accommodating mechanics, look no further. I took my aging Subaru here to get my brake system looked at, so they inspected everything for me and explained all the issues with it so even I could understand them. My car needed a lot of repairs that I would have added up a lot had they only pointed out a couple things each visit, so I really appreciated that they laid everything out so I could decide whether it was worth it to repair my car or get a new one. So I shopped around for a new car and brought one in today (on short notice) and they inspected the major parts to determine if it was worth my money, and - half an hour later - it turned out to be a lemon, so I'm really glad I brought it to them before I bought another potential money pit. I'm so grateful to Troy and Jeff for their help with what should be a frustrating situation, as they've really showed how much they care about their clients rather than making some extra money. They give extremely helpful advice, and it's clear to see that they care about having an honest relationship with their customers. These guys will always be my go-to for auto service. read more

I got an oil change yesterday and an hour later my oil light went on. I called Victory and Dan told me to stop immediately and check the oil. Oil was way down. They sent a wrecker, a loaner for me and kept me informed on the repair. Turned out, the oil filter had a small defect that caused an oil leak. Victory fixed the car and delivered it to me with an apology and a voucher for my next oil change free. Best customer service I've ever experienced. read more

Would recommend staying as far away from this business as possible. I purchased a vehicle from the Fridley location earlier this year and was told that everything on the vehicle was up to date and was serviced regularly. I was repeatedly assured that nothing would need repairs in the new future. However, after just using my car for a month, I noticed liquid leaking from the engine. I took the vehicle to a different repair shop where they notified me that the engine was leaking in several different locations and that it would cost thousands of dollars to repair and replace the head gasket. After sharing this news with Dan, the manager at Fridley Auto, I was told that the most they could do was offer me an "employee discount", a cost that was almost as expensive as the price I paid for the car. They repeatedly told me I had purchased the vehicle "as is" and could not do anything else for me. I am disappointed in the deception and rudeness I encountered at this auto repair shop. I hope those that consider bringing their vehicles to this location will think twice and head over to Plymouth Tire and Auto where they genuinely value their customers. read more

I own a 2007 Chev silverado with a 5.3L. At cold start, the oil pressure would run low, and required shifting to neutral to rev the motor until it got to running temp. Then, it was no problem, even for towing my heavy boat etc.. Recently, I I was hospitalized, again, as I am in the midst of a fight with cancer. One of my good friends, and my son, decided to try and help me, while I was in the hospital, and brought my truck to Victory Auto. Victory recommended two options. Option one, replace the oil pump at a discounted rate, of $1499. This option however they gave no guarantee that it would work. option two, was to replace the existing motor with a used motor with 100 and some thousand miles on it, for about $5000. We all discussed the situation, and opted for option one. I was in the hospital and I was told that the truck engine was producing oil pressure. Needless to say I was happy to hear this development. Later on however, they inform my son that the truck is producing 5 pounds of oil pressure. From the sounds of things, it seems that they started and let the truck idle when it was cold, without listening to my description of what the problem was after their repairs were complete. No, the Oil pressure goes down low enough, at any temperature, to set off the alarm, and the visual alarm to turn off the engine oil pressure. In other words, it is worse than when they started. I provided them with a credit card from my hospital bed. A few days later, when I got out of the hospital, I took the truck for a ride and noticed how it was operating. I also noticed that a small tick, or lifter noise from the motor had gotten much much worse since Victory had a hold of it. I suspect that they let it run out of oil and run dry on the top of the motor causing further damage. Of course, there was no guarantee that this repair was going to work. However, if they would have simply listened to my explanation, and not run the engine when it was cold, I suspect that they would not have further damage this engine. After they received payment for this car, they showed absolutely no curiosity as to what the problem might be. They only indicated that they wanted to put a new motor into it as that would be the only acceptable repair. Also, I spoke to a friend who owns a precision tune auto care in Andover. He indicated that he had done an exact same repair on a 5.3 L engine, and it had worked. Also he did it for the regular price of $1000. I don't think I would let Victory Auto put air in the tires of my bicycle. read more
