Got that looked at this morning. Backing out of the parking lot... "Hmmm... that wheel feels wonky!". Yup. Flat tire. Called AAA. They are a GEM! Out to me in an hour or so and I'm one my way. And then... call Affordable Tire. "Come right on over". I did. Pulled in. Tire out of the back grabbed and fault identifier: nail. They fix it AND check for any other leaks. Back on the car. 20 minutes tops. And the price was WAY reasonable. This is a local shop... and the are FANTASTIC.

It's about $10 more expensive per tire, but I like that they care about their customers. I had purchased two tires from them and the next day a front tire went flat, they gave me a deal on just the single tire. I've been to another used shop where I saved $10, but their customer service was non existent.

Nice to find especially as a woman. It turned out it was a minor issue that they fixed for free. They do try and upsell a bit here and there but that's to be expected TBH, that's how they make money. It never feels too pushy and they accept a no without pushing further. I'll come back for my next set.

It's a small shop with minimal waiting room so if your car is going to take more than 45 minutes - you might consider waiting at a coffee shop or something. I had an appointment that I arranged via email. They were prompt with bringing my car back for the oil change and I was out within half an hour. During my wait - I had a lovely chat with the guy behind the front desk, he talked to me about the history of the shop and the experience Troy has. Another patron brought them fudge while they worked on her car and a second patron tipped them for pumping gas - in this economy?! To me those were clear signs that these people take care of their customers and the customers keep coming back! I'm glad I found this place for all my future car maintenance

He noticed that the tires I had selected and paid for online (using what was suggested by the discount tires website when I entered my license plate) were not the right size and found that the higher quality tires that did fit were $70 less per tire! I often feel reluctant about car related purchases because I know they will be expensive and I feel like people will often try to sales pitch you into buying something even more expensive, but that was not the case here which I really appreciated. He did present me with a few extra add ons like new windshield wipers (which I did get, $21/wiper for a VW) and a new spare tire because mine is probably 10+ years old (which I did not get). I was refunded the difference between the cheaper tires + the wipers and the original price I paid and my car was ready in 45 minutes! This location is across the street from a Wing Stop, Noodles, & a Jersey Mike's. There were plenty of seats to wait in but it was also convenient to run across the street and grab lunch while my tires were being changed. Sounded like appointments were the way to go, walk ins on a busy day could have to wait up to 90 min. Highly recommend this place!

I had to wait a couple of minutes because the manager was helping an older gentleman who's car they had just serviced and noticed that the windshield wiper wasn't working and grabbed his tools fixed it quickly for free so he could get home safely in the storm. This was going fine until one day they tried to charge me for my tire rotation + tire repair that I had come in for. When I asked for an explanation, Dwayne at the front desk (not the most "people-person" of individuals in general) realized that a new account was "accidentally" created for my vehicle, and this account was not connected to the account that bought the tires. Not sure what happened there - same name, car, address, everything... So, beware that they are not trying to charge you in hidden ways like this. Regardless, people make mistakes, right? I decided to continue being a customer at that time... Until the latest, more concerning scenario: I came in knowing that my battery was on low charge. When I had trouble starting it one morning, the 'check engine' light came on. My oversight was that I didn't realize the light was just related to the battery (code said poor communication with ECM) - and I decided to play it safe and bring it right it. Well, that was a terrible $200 mistake. I was told my car underwent a thorough diagnostic process, and the outcome was: "Could have other issues" but "recommend battery replacement to start with". After questioning this by reminding Dwayne (and another man at the front) that I KNEW the car had been sitting for a while and needed to be re-charged, but that I wanted to ensure there was not a bigger issue going on, he "explained" to me that it was not about the low charge but rather that it was an issue with the battery itself - in fact, according to him, the car was barely starting. I also pushed back about the supposed full diagnostic process that cost me $200 but didn't have anything to show for it. "Could have other issues" certainly does not suggest a thorough check to me. I decided to leave it be (without replacing the battery) and came to learn that 1) when I got to my car to take it back home, the trunk was unlatched, causing the interior trunk lights to create a parasitic draw on the battery. I thought this was quite the convenient coincidence, given the sales pitch I had just been given about my car barely starting; and 2) Once I re-charged my battery back to full charge, it tested just fine (using THREE different sources/multimeters) and has been operating just fine. Absolutely NO issues starting up, and this incident was 2 weeks ago. I'm glad I didn't waste another $250 to the replace the battery (a quote they gave me for a battery that I was able to do a research on and found for $150 at the local auto shop). They lost a good customer - and for what? I don't really understand the motives behind shops like this who assume their customers don't know what they're talking about and don't even have a moment to take what they're saying into consideration. But that won't be my issue anymore. Please look elsewhere.

Christian's response was to buy a more dependable car, not one that was going to cost me a lot of money in the long term, and also make him a fortune. It says a lot when, in the middle of some tough times, you have a mechanic that will look to save you money.

The repair shop I have been using for a LONG time now, tried putting some grease on the cap itself and told me that if the difficulty continues, I will need to have the fuel filler arm replaced and quoted me a price of $1200. Yesterday I called the repair shop I had been using for a long time to get the exact name of the part and I said, "I will be checking other repair shops for a better price to replace because $1200 seems quite high to me." I was told, "okay do that and if you find a better price, please let me know." I called "Fix Em All" and spoke with the owner. He said he did not do estimates over the phone but to just bring my car in and he will take a look for NO charge. I immediately went to "Fix Em All" and the owner did some tweaking on my gas cap and got it working better than it ever did...even when it was brand new. When I asked what do I owe, he said, "NOTHING maam. We are NOT here to rip people off. We ONLY do NECESSARY repairs." This fine gentleman worked with my gas cap for 10-15 minutes and got it working perfectly. He further told me that the fuel filter filler arm never goes bad on any car. Not only did I receive GREAT service and treatment from a place I had never been to but I also saved $1200 which is a lot to me since I am retired and on a fixed income. So I rate this place 5 plus 5 stars (but we are only allowed to use 5 stars).
