Very enjoyable place just a short walk from the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. We stopped here on the 4th of July and sat out on the front porch. It was so nice to see the world walk by. Chips and salsa were served and they were very good. I had a Cadillac margarita which was very good. For my meal, I had the taco dinner which came with three tacos...I had steak, chicken and carnitas. Everything was good, but the steak was my favorite. The chicken was a little dry. The grilled onions, chopped tomatoes and onions and spicy sauce that came with the tacos were all very good. I also loved the rice and beans and also ate them in their entirety, but then I was way too full. Service was very friendly and quick. Overall, a great meal! read more

A little bit of everything.... Dinner and drinks with the wife on September 19th Promptly greeted and seated indoor. First off, staff super friendly and attentive. Served the traditional "complimentary" chips and salsa which were good. I ordered the large 22 oz draft Bud Light (not sure it actually holds that much) and a little shocked it was $11 very over priced in my opinion . Wife had the speciality Skinny Margarita for $15.50 she enjoyed it. I had a second beer (not knowing the cost lol). Wife had the Hibiscus Margarita. $15.50 which she also enjoyed. Dinner- Wife had the Grilled Chicken Fajita Quesadilla (generous portion). She liked it and had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. I had the Fajitas Vida-it was a lot of food. with 3 tiny flour tortillas (could easily double). Decent taste, don't think I would get it again though. Everything was mixed together in sauce, which I thought was a little odd, but nice presentation. They may want to consider closing off the open space from the outdoor sitting and the bar. It's a smaller restaurant and with the big opening it allows for bugs to fly in. Had to shew off a few flies several times and I noticed the customers next to us doing the same.. We stopped by for dinner on Thursday before m Memorial Day weekend and we were pleased it wasn't too crowded. They were celebrating their one-year anniversary in this downtown Meredith location. What a great addition to the local eating establishments this place has been. Lots of drink choices and several drink specials including the house margarita, which we enjoyed. The food here is excellent with large portions, fresh ingredients, and a nice variety of apps and main courses to consider. The service is friendly and prompt. Expect to wait a bit on the weekend in the summer. Highly recommended! read more

Two of us went for lunch and a few drinks and will not go back. Nice greeting and promptly seated. By the time he took our order it was a few minutes past 2:00 and the waiter would not let us order off the lunch menu. Ok not a big deal but was disappointed since we had already picked our dishes from it. We ordered a beer and a House Margarita on the rocks. The margarita was this lime sour mix out of a gallon jug and asked what kind of Tequila he used, and he mentioned a brand I never heard of, so I asked him to show me the bottle, and he pulled out Jose Cuervo Gold and said it was just like it. He never showed me it because I think it was a premix, it was very sour, no tequila taste. The glass it came in was nice, that was about it. Our meals were ok but at this point we were so hungry we ate them. Too bad, the place is cozy and has more potential. read more

This is a new restaurant from a small family owned group of restaurants in the White Mountains. So new in fact that when we came for dinner they were still hanging decor up on the wall and there were several Frida Kahlo portraits that lined the hallway to the bathroom waiting to be hung. The decor of the place is lovely and located in the historic core of Meredith. I can't stress how great the food is here. I usually think refried beans are a throwaway and don't eat much of them. Their refried beans are the best I've ever tasted and I could eat my them on their own. Beautifully seasoned. But everything I had was great. They brought us generous bowls of chips before the meal. We ordered the nachos which was huge and the chicken on it was yummy. I had the Camarones Tapatios and it was great but the beans and rice really took it over the top for me. The waitstaff were all really friendly and wonderful. Our waitress's English was a little limited but she was so friendly and everyone else spoke hood English. If you take your leftovers to go, just note that they charge a little bit for the take out containers. Also, if you pay in cash, the cash price is a few dollars less since they pass their credit card fee savings onto you. You won't be disappointed if you come here! read more

Traveling from DFW. Our plane was 2 hours late. Our rental car area, unlabeled at the Manchester, was closed and we had to use the neighboring booth. Our online reservation....lost. Rather than a nice comfortable 6pm arrival we rolled in at 9:43. On the road for 11 hours and no food potentially. They were scheduled to close in 17 minutes but happily seated us. Coming to NH from TX the last thing we wanted was Mexican food. It would be like going from NH to TX and having lobster as your first meal. Our server was kind and wonderful. The food was good and I had no issues. Only giving four stars because I'm used to Mexican food from Southern California, and it's hard to find something similar in the northeast. That being said, I was pleased with our order. We took it home for takeout. We had the chimichanga with chips + cheese dip. I wish the chimichangas were a little saucier, but they were packed with meat. Portions are huge so you can definitely share. I judge by Fajitas, and coming out sizzling with fresh meat and vegetables spiced to perfection is my favorite! The portion is so generous that I can count on lunch the next day. The array of Margaritas makes choosing difficult to pick a favorite, but when they are squeezing fresh cut fruit to create my personal beverage, the flavors dance on the pallet. Friendly service and yummy margaritas... They are my friend, Carrie's, favorite around! We got takeout for four of us. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I chose a garlicy shrimp, which was covered with minced garlic and delicious! Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food as well. This has become one of our go tos for eating out in Meredith. The food is fresh, and consistently delicious. We have been there 3 weeks in a row. Recommend the shrimp dishes, the fish tacos and the grand fajitas vida! so rare that you find the shrimp and fish cooked perfectly and not overcooked. Drinks are delicious. Fun sitting at the bar ahead of time and having one of their cocktails. Vishal (bartender) is a great asset to this restaurant and always willing to make recommendations. Just went to Vida on the Lake because we won a 20 dollar gift card as part of a team fundraiser. We have been to Vida in the Weirs and liked it. The two restaurants are on the Vida web site and the menus are the same. The food was good, not great, but ok. My biggest beef is they would not recognize the gift card, saying it was different computer systems. So they essentially lost a customer over a twenty dollar gift card. How you to lose the good will you gained by donating in the first place. read more

My husband and I used to live on the west coast, and one of the things we miss about being out there is authentic Mexican street tacos. One of our favorite places out west did a really fantastic carnitas -- something comparable has been impossible to find on the east coast. Having never been to Vida before, we called ahead to see if they have carnitas street tacos and we were told they did. We headed down there for lunch the following day, only to find nothing resembling it on the menu. We explained what we wanted to the server, and they did assemble something like it (not exactly, but they definitely did their best), so points for trying to accommodate an off-menu request. We'll be back for sure -- it wasn't a bad experience, just a bit disappointing in having had the expectations set for something they don't actually offer. read more

FYI it is not ON the lake, you are a couple blocks inland and the outdoor seating faces a back road. Food was average, one of us enjoyed our dish and one didn't. The margaritas were very good all around. read more
