NEGATIVE STARS IF POSSIBLE - SAVE YOURSELF! Vivian is the owner of Vida Spa. Her business practices are horrendous. I came in for a pedicure. After the pedicure was done, I noticed a burning/itchy sensation on the sole of my foot. It had become infected! I think it was because her employee did not wash the pedicure tank. I told Vicky and she said "Of course we wash it, what? you want a refund now?" I am not a confrontational person so I did not want to get angry and start an argument with her with everyone there, but I was so upset to the point of tears. I don't make that much, but I was excited to enjoy my day off with a little treat for myself and this is what its turned into? I mean she didn't even CARE! I am definitely reporting Vivian to the business bureau. This place is right around the corner from my house. I read the reviews prior to coming here but thought since it was so close I would check it out for myself anyway. So what I loved was that the girl who was going to do my mani pedi was a young Latina! My first, I'm used to Koreans doing my nails. So I was a bit anxious to see how they turned out at the end. She was so gentle at first but as the appointment went on she gained more confidence and I'm pretty sure she scraped off a few layers of skin on my toes. Well she didn't do a bad job! My nails looks pretty good. My cuticles though, different story. Totally neglected. This has been the most I've ever paid for a mani pedi and foe the price i expected to have a little more attention paid to my cuticles. Those are my 2 only issues, price and neglect to my cuticles. I came to this spot on Tuesday (04/19) and got a gel pedicure. I asked for a french tip but wasn't happy with how it turned out, so I called and asked if I can come in again for them to fix it. There were many things wrong with the polish job, the lines weren't even and the technician put too much polish so when they were to grow out, I knew they would lift. Not to mention she didn't ask how I wanted them shaped and just began cutting. When I had called to schedule a new appointment, the lady on the phone was very nice and apologetic so I was looking forward to going back. It was disappointing to see that they gave me the same technician after expressing how unhappy I was with the original job. My issue was with the end of the service. I was told I had to pay an additional $28 on top of the $50 I had previously paid. I don't think that it was right for them to charge me to fix their mistakes. my pedicure was good but my manicure was awful !! I got acrylics and gel but it was a bad experience . My nail tech was on her phone for about 5 mins while I sat in the chair in front of her , then she seemed to be rushing on my nails. She left my nails uneven with polish ( some edges were blobby if that makes sense) not a smooth finish. I was able to get a few nails re-polished for free but now 2 days later one of my nails broke and they aren't even a week old yet !! Christine left the two she fixed so thin that it was just a mess. She didn't clean up my cuticles for a clean look and there are chunks of acrylics that look uneven. Not to mention she got some sort of chemical all over my hands that took forever to wash off and left my hands feeling dry and rough. I needed to get my nails done and since I'm new to the area thought is give it a try. Lady said 45 for gel I thought that was expensive but I was already there. The person who did my nails was very nice and polite. I mentioned to her a couple of times about the cuticle , yet she didn't really care. Halfway thru another woman came to talk to her wearing a super skimpy pink powder dress and big shoes, so rude I don't speak their language but from what I could tell it was about money, she took out a book counting receipts during my time. I have continuously come back since my last review. Every single time I go they give me a new girl that I've never seen before. The last time I went my nails were horrible. Had gel that was an extension of my nail on the sides on just about every finger. The reception was very rude as well. I was with the nail lady for over an hour when she came to ask me if I still needed the colors. I let her know no one has asked me what color I wanted for my fingers yet and she just asked me for the color thing they have up front. I handed it to her. 20 minutes later she cane to ask what color I would like. I let her know I could tell her if she showed me the colors once again as I didn't jot down the numbers. I had actually shown the nail tech an image of what I wanted and she asked me to show her that to see if she could find us similar colors. I showed her and let her know I would like a light gray similar to the one in the picture. She rudely just said, "that's white". (I have a hard time distinguishing some greys and blues due to colorblindness). I let her know that I would like a light gray instead then. And in the same rude voice she let me know it's white. Unless you want to start a new fad of the "zebra tan" don't use the tanning booth. The owner made ever excuse and accused me of moving the settings. I never touched a thing. Her booth is a piece of crap that doesn't work. Plus the spray mist is with cold water. Imagine that in the winter. Needless to say I have to cover my body until this crap fades. If I could post 0 stars for this place I would. I never make reviews on yelp but since my experience was so bad I had to. I came in just for an acrylic full set. The manicurist doing my nails ( I forget his name) took over two hours ! On top of that when he was removing my old nails he was hurting me really badly and even broke one of my nails to the point where my finger was bleeding everywhere and all he said was sorry . The end result was horrible , my nails weren't even all the same length or shape and you can still see blood underneath the nail he broke. Pedicure and get a pink and white fill... BUT WHY AM I CHARGED A DIFFERENT PRICE ALL THE TIME. It seems like they just toss a number out of the top of there head... Manis are okay, pedicures could be better. Facials are not worth the cost. Waxes by Vivian are NOT GOOD. (very painful) Most importantly, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE from the manicurist. Customer BEWARE. If I could have given Debbie G. 1/2 star, I would have, Went in for a brazilian wax and came out bruised, blood drawn and patchy spots still remaining. I was in so much pain...sweating, crying and telling Debbie to stop. But she kept insisting just a little more. Towards the end of the torture, she applied the hot wax on top of the place where she had tried multiple times which felt like she was ripping my labia off. I told her to STOP. BUT NO!!! Finally she said, "well why don't you just pull it off and it won't hurt as much"!!!! I refused and told her I was done... She said there was just a little blood by the way. When I got home I looked at the damage. Not only was I black and blue but also I was sore to the touch for a week. Plus I had to shave everything she didn't get. I like the location and that they offer numerous services. The parking is a bit rough given that they share the lot with a few other businesses. There is street parking but that isn't as convenient is it? We called in and made an appointment because we knew that by the time we were able to make it down there it might be too close to closing time that they wouldn't want to take us. Luckily, this did not seem to be an issue at all. They made a nice effort to accommodate us. The staff was welcoming and engaging which was a nice change. We felt comfortable with the employees rather than awkward. Even though the staff was friendly I didn't think the work nor the prices were all that great. They weren't bad but I guess I've experienced better for less. We ended up paying about $115 (tip included) for one acrylic set, two pedicures, and one gel manicure. Its been just under two weeks and my gels are looking good but my pedicure isn't looking so hot. I got a few chips here and there which is a little disappointing since I haven't really done anything too crazy that would cause them to wear that quick. Likewise, my sisters acrylics look good but her toes look awful. Overall Friendly staff but I don't know if the friendly faces make up for the quality and price ratio. read more

This place is so close to my house I could walk but I drive to Northridge to get my money's worth. The pedicure area is so small I feel like I am sitting on top of the person in the next chair. I went in for a manicure without an appointment and they did take me right away (thus the two star) but as soon as someone else came in also with no appointment, but she was getting the more expensive acrylic fill they had me get up and move to this bar area, even though there was another station available. I felt they rushed through the manicure, even though there was no one else waiting. I hope they start reading their reviews and change their bad customer service ways. So I've been going to this place since it opened and I've usually had good experiences. I always get a manicure and pedicure which come out to be around 26 for both(that's just a gustimate, I just know that it's no more than 30) The girls are nice, but aren't too fluent in English. Today, I went in to get a spa pedicure which was 18 dollars. I was NOT happy with it at all. The owner, I believe:Vivian, told me the wait would be just a few minutes, it was not. I arrived at 5:30 and didn't get started on til about 6:00 pm. Vivian was supposed to do my pedicure, but another lady ended up doing it which was fine until I noticed that she had cut one of my toe nails way too short and it was slanted! The other toe nail was rounded. I don't know why she thought that was okay. I paid and walked out. I was so mad, I know it may not seem like a big deal but it was to me. I could have done a better job myself and wouldn't have to spend an hour and a half there. Other than today all other times were okay. It's a really clean and cute salon. I started to write a wonderful review about this place earlier, poopooing the nay sayers as being temperamental and finicky. Yes, I was sitting here, overjoyed with the success of one of my first beauty days in a long time, when i look down at my newly manicured fingernails typing those words and noticed not one, not two, but alas, THREE chipped nails. Not only were they chipped, they were mere minutes from being discovered as fraudulent masks posing as silver painted nails. I picked at one and it just completely peeled off. No, it didn't chip back a little, no, it didn't flake off. It lifted and without so much as a lift of the finger it peeled away. I was going to do this to the rest and paint them but realized that it was too effortless to lift the paint, so I just got rid of all of it, no muscle necessary. What I will say, though, is that the combo 2, a medi/spa pedi with paraffin wax and hot stone foot massage was divine and fairly priced. I also got a haircut and upper lip and eye brow waxing. I loved my hair cutter, Chelly, i believe and she did a wonderful, natural job and was so laid back and authentic. The woman who did my eyebrows did them much better than the Goddess Salon's cigarette smelling woman, and i left feeling pretty and girly. The only other things I could say negatively was that right after my feet were wrapped in wax I was lead to the other area for hair and slipped and my feet poked out and I could barely walk without nearly falling. that and when I went to get my eyebrows waxed the woman asked if i was getting my upper lip waxed too... that might be seen as rude to many, but for me it was a noticeable thing I decided to do. I don't know why I was made to walk with the wax... that could cause a lawsuit in the future. The atmosphere was relaxed and chic, but not too snazzy or modern. It had all the right elements and lay out to make you feel pampered but not ritzy and that you were in a place that would demand much of your etiquette, but it definitely wasn't some ghetto mess at all like many other places I've seen. On a side note, many nail places will have a particular set of people who come off rude, but everyone here was very humble and nice. I am happy with certain services, but will do my nails at home from now on. Basically, don't get a manicure here, just everything else :) read more

I decided to stop by during my lunch to get my eyebrows waxed. I was greeted by the receptionist who was nice. The lady who waxed my eyebrows on the other hand seems like she was in a hurry to get done. In the process she managed to smudged off half my eyeliner from my left eye -_________- I was pleased with my eyebrows overall but was bothered about my eyeliner. The reception lady told the manicurist what i was getting and I was sent on my merry way. The next thing you know I was getting a regular full set! When she apologized for the mistake she offered gel pink and whites... once she came back with everything she told me it would be an additional $20 for the gel. I told her that i wouldn't be paying and she insisted on how the gel was much better than regular pink and whites. I reiterated that I wasn't paying and then she told me to choose a color. This place in my opinion was horrible I went in for a Mani and pedi and took my mother for a pedi they had us waiting for 20 minutes before they took us in after they did they had me waiting with my feet soaking only no bubbles nothing just in water for another 20 min and when the lady finally got to me she started and left to go finish another girls nails I was so mad..
