I sent my camera, Sony A7M2, in for a shutter replacement and am 100% happy with the repair. I called and talked to Sherman and explained the problem. I was deciding whether to repair or replace the camera. He explained the process, gave me an estimate (assuming that this was the only problem), and did not try to talk me into repairing it. I slept on it and called the next day. I shipped it out on a Thursday and received the repaired camera the next Wednesday. It arrived well packed, spotless and works perfectly. The Sony a6500 we use for our church live stream died on us one day out of the blue. No power, no lights, just dead weight. I've never sent any camera in for repairs before. I researched online and found Video One Repair. I sent it in to get evaluated and they basically said the PCB in the camera was fried. They pinpointed the cause to a cheap dummy battery power supply we were using from Amazon. A few days later, they got the camera working again after replacing the necessary parts. It was still cheaper to repair than to buy another used camera. Plus, with the new parts replaced and the cleaning/calibration they performed, it was basically a new camera again. They also recommended to use the official Sony dummy power supply and gave me the correct part number for it since there were a lot of counterfeits online. Its been a month since I got the camera back and have using the Sony power supply and its been working like new! I'm super satisfied with with the whole repair process and experience. WOW! Amazing service! My Sony A7III was sitting on a tripod when someone knocked it over and the camera landed on the side where the Mini HDMI port had an adapter plugged in. The adapter was immediately busted. It wasn't until a couple days later than I notice the Mini HDMI port wasn't working at all (everything else was working fine). I called several local repair shops and even tried to get ahold of Sony Pro Support (very difficult to get a timely response). Every local repair shop I called either said they couldn't repair the port or that they would have to replace the entire main board which would have been extremely expensive. I then came across Video One Repair on YouTube where a tech showed how they de-solder the broken port and soldered on a new one. I knew this was something I did not want to take on by myself and only someone who is experienced with soldering camera parts can do this correctly the first time. I called in to Video One Repair and spoke with Sheryl Bahr, not only was she a wonderful and delightful person, she knew everything I was talking about and told me about the whole repair process with great detail. Yes the repair cost be around $400 with with shipping, but as a business owner, the guarantee of having my camera fixed and warranted for 6 months is priceless. After getting blasted with dirt by a Ford Raptor, I thought my FS5 was pretty much done. My ND filter was completely stuck at a 1/128, my memory cards had to get pulled out with pliers, my battery release no long worked and you could hear sand moving around inside the body. I sent in the camera to Video One Repair after reading all the reviews and had a 5 Star experience with them. They were in communication the whole way through and gave me a very detailed list of the cost for parts and the cost of repair. I told them the next time I needed the camera and they were able to accommodate that without an issue. The camera came back in better condition than before the camera accident. I am a Video Producer for GlobalDance.tv doing live webcasting of national dance competitions. When one of our Sony AX2000 video cameras went down (would not focus) over Halloween weekend we were in a bit of a bind. We needed to find a place to get it repaired and back to us BEFORE Thanksgiving week as that is when we do our largest and most complicated broadcast of the year, the US Open Swing Dance Championships. My technical director started making phone calls trying to find a repair shop to which we could entrust our precious camera. He had a very long conversation with Sherman that left him very impressed. Jesse, my director said he could not believe the depth of technical knowledge Sherman possessed about the Sony video cameras. We love our two Sony AX2000 cameras, but unfortunately Sony has stopped making this particular model, which concerns us greatly that at some point we may need to replace them. He questioned Sherman extensively about which other cameras would meet our needs when we need to replace these and after giving Sherman all our technical requirements Sherman assured him that this was actually the best camera to meet our needs. I'm super glad I found Video One Repair! They quickly fixed the mini HDMI port on my Sony a7S II. I had accidentally damaged it by dropping the camera a few inches onto a table and the cable got hammered into the camera body. I was totally stressed out because I needed the camera fixed quickly for an upcoming live stream and was worried I'd have to spend a couple grand to buy a new camera. Good repair service with a few cons. Overall timely repair service with great communication. Repair work is great but one button was not working when I got the camera back which mean they didn't test my camera throughly before sending it back, Sherman issued the shipping label to send it back and fix the problem quickly. Good turn around time for the repair, but pricing for the replacement parts are about 20-40% higher than buying it directly from the Sony, Video One Repair do mark up the price significantly for the replacement parts. Which is very weird since anybody can buy it directly from Sony for much cheaper than video one price but I have no choice to use their service for quick turn around time because I needed to get the repair job done before the trip, if I have enough time I will go somewhere else for repair because I'm willing to pay for the quoted labor price but extra high price for replacement parts really threw me off., big No No for me. My advice, it's a good repair service but you must check the price break down because you may end up paying a lot more than buying the parts from manufacturer. read more

I have a Sony camera that decided to trap a friend's tape inside and then lock up the motor so it wouldn't even turn on. I have a Sony VX-2100 Camcorder with some major issues after an unfortunate drop while filming in Australia.
