I had first heard about it on their last day of the season in 2021. 2022 they didn't open for personal reasons, so we were excited to hear about the opening this year! We went for lunch, and we were not disappointed! The portions were large, messy, and so incredibly delicious! While people with better manners than I might have gone for a fork, I made do with my hands and a stack of napkins! We both got the deep fried tacos, which were literally as big as our heads. Filled with meat, cheese, banana peppers, jalapeños, tomato, onion and shredded lettuce, these things were massive! We chatted with the owners, and if we weren't sold on the place before, their enthusiasm, personality and love of the people of WV would have done it! They were gearing up for the busy weekend ahead of travelers and trail riders, and we look forward to returning!

We were seated immediately on a Friday at around 1pm. I love their vegetarian options but this is a place that assumes if you are a vegetarian, that you like and must have onions and mushrooms in every meal. I couldn't find much other than pancakes/pastries/sweet shit that didn't have onions and mushrooms but fortunately, they were able to accommodate my request for the tofu scramble without onions or mushrooms. GF ordered the vegetarian quesadilla with, you guessed it, onions and mushrooms (among other things). My tofu scramble was good but calling it a scramble is slightly misleading as it is actually tofu cubes albeit very crispy and tasty tofu cubes. This dish was probably potatoes. A few spinach leaves and maybe 1/100th of a pepper. I will concede to the fact that some of that volume might have been taken up by mushrooms and onions. The dish was very good regardless and the accompanying salsa added a really nice extra je ne sais quoi. I also really like the pay first and then leave whenever you want model to avoid being held hostage to bad service not to say that they would've provided bad service but it is a risk anywhere. Regarding GF's quesadilla which I did not have the pleasure of sampling bc of onions of mushrooms "I thought it was decent". When I asked if she had any details or specifics to add, she replied, "no".

My cousins actually had a restaurant at this spot several years ago. The food was good. Everything plus a drink and tip was around $18. The chili was flavorful and the slaw was sweet. I liked the English buns. The food was very filling. My only complaints were the over an hour wait, ants, and no napkins. I had read Facebook posts previously about people waiting for a long time. They recommended ordering ahead. I will do that next time. I highly recommend calling ahead. Everyone there had a long wait. One woman said she waited nearly two hours. Ants are bad everywhere this time of year. I have ants in my bathroom. It's just the nature of the beast around these parts. However, they were noticeable so I feel like I should mention them as part of the review. Napkins were not at tables. If you saw me licking my fingers in the last video, there was a reason for that. There were no napkins anywhere. A couple was told if they needed napkins, they could go to the bathroom and get paper towels. Was that good customer service? Not really. Would I have liked napkins? Sure. Would it cause me not to go back? Nah. But again, I'm mentioning this because I try to have no bias and be 100% truthful in my reviews. The food was good. Really good. I liked the hot dogs a whole lot. The fries were pretty good, too. I would just recommend calling ahead and maybe picking up the order to go -- that way there's no wait, no ants, and hopefully, you have napkins!

The tea was iced, sweet, and cold! The silverware was clean wrapped and bagged to prevent dirty napkins (nice touch) We shared a hearty portion of Fish & Chips. Fries were not salty or sweet. They tasted like.....wait for it...POTATOES! Yay!!!! real food. The bathrooms were clean and bright! We appreciated the attention to cleanliness. We didn't try the pie so we must return - fingers crossed they have a dark berry pie next time!
