My boyfriend ordered the Fireman's Chicken and by the looks of it when it came out, someone should have called the fire department while it was cooking! It was so burnt it was black. The only flavor present was charred meat and it was the most dried out chicken we have ever had (unfortunately I tried it). The collard greens were bitter with little flavor and the black-eyed peas still had crunch to where they weren't cooked all the way. To say all this, to have a $100 bill was HIGHLY unappreciated as it was one of the worst meals we have had in a LONG time. I definitely could see why they were not busy. The food was cooked terrible. And I will note that it isn't that I am picky, the couple next to us barely ate their meal and looked just as dissatisfied as we were. We would NOT recommend!

The wagyu, unfortunately, was not as tender or flavorful as I expected, especially for the price point, but the chimichurri helped a lot and brought the dish together. The Brussels sprouts were good, with nice texture and flavor. The potatoes were average to me, not bad at all, but not something I would necessarily rush back for. The cocktails were definitely a highlight. I had the barrel rested Vieux Carré, which was smooth and balanced, and the Bourbon Bramble was also very good. Both drinks felt well-made and matched the overall vibe of the restaurant. Overall, I would definitely go back, especially for the atmosphere, cocktails, and a date-night type of experience. The food was good overall, but for me the vibe and drinks were the main reason to return.

Today's Mother's Day brunch experience at Vidrio was nothing short of disappointing. For a steep price of $65 per person, including gratuity, one would expect a lavish spread and impeccable service, but unfortunately that was not the case! It's saddening that some families who do not often indulge in fancy dining experiences, or perhaps never have, were subjected to what can only be described as daylight robbery. The price tag felt exorbitant considering the majorly subpar quality of the food and service. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that there was a lack of attention to detail both in service and management. The menu, advertised as "Mediterranean Inspired," fell short of expectations, resembling more of a lackluster hotel breakfast buffet. Pre-made scrambled eggs, generic breakfast sausages and bacon, and granola and yogurt were reminiscent of complimentary offerings found in nearby hotels. Even the much-hyped Spanish tortilla turned out to be a mere shadow of its authentic counterpart, resembling a hastily assembled potato pie. It was clear that very little effort had been made. To add insult to injury, the food was not served warm, raising concerns about its freshness and proper handling. The absence of a toaster for the bread further highlighted the lack of consideration for guests' dining experience. Even the prime rib, which was a potential highlight, was served cold, further dampening the already low spirits of our experience. It's a shame that Vidrio's management and staff failed to deliver on what should have been a celebratory occasion as it was Mother's Day. One would expect a restaurant to go above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience on such occasions. Instead, their incompetence left a bitter taste in our mouths and overshadowed what should have been a joyous celebration. Vidrio turned out to be an amazing discovery during our visit right after Christmas. So many places were closed on December 26th, but Vidrio welcomed us, and we couldn't have been luckier! The food here is not just delicious, it's mind-blowing! The Moroccan beef skewers were an absolute perfection - juicy, flavorful, and that sauce? Pure magic. And come on, they are not a small plate at all, like they say on a menu; there are 5 skewers for 12 dollars! That's practically a steal! I could've easily called it a day after those skewers. Stuffed piquillo peppers brought a tender flavor, while the cheese croquettes were an explosion of bright cheese goodness. Those croquettes were a masterpiece - tender on the inside thanks to the bechamel sauce and crispy on the outside. The hummus had its own thing going on - the sour cherries added such a unique flavor, and the chickpeas brought the crunch. A simple dish elevated to gourmet levels! And the prices were totally fair for this quality. As for dessert, we were so stuffed we couldn't even think about it! Also, I want to mention an impressive wine selection - 40 different kinds available in 3 oz. pours. A dream for wine tastings! That's on my bucket list for the next visit. Vidrio's interior is simply stunning! High ceilings, colorful handmade glass decorations covering an entire wall - it's like dining in a modern art gallery. And the restaurant is huge, with three different rooms, including one on the second floor. There's plenty of space to explore and enjoy. Vidrio has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants, even rivaling some spots in Charlotte. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. Cheers to unexpected culinary adventures! read more

My husband and I dined at Vidrio tonight for Valentine's Day, and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They offered a special Valentine's prix fixe menu, but we loved that we also had the option to order from the full menu. We chose to share several appetizers, including the Iberico pork meatballs, crispy artichokes, and steamed mussels -- and every single dish was dynamite. The mussels were hands-down the best we've had since visiting Italy! Perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything we ordered was outstanding. Our server Michael was exceptional -- attentive without being intrusive, extremely knowledgeable, and even a wine sommelier who helped us select the perfect pairing. The manager also made a point to visit every table, which added such a warm, personal touch to the evening. To make the night even more special, they gifted roses to all the women and offered chocolate-dipped strawberries on the way out -- such a thoughtful Valentine's Day detail. Parking in the area can be a little challenging, but there's a public parking garage around the corner that's absolutely worth the $20 for such an incredible dining experience. Overall, it was a wonderful, memorable evening and the perfect way to celebrate Valentine's Day. We highly recommend Vidrio to anyone in the Raleigh area looking for an elevated, welcoming, and truly delicious Mediterranean dining experience. read more

Well this place is a nice find. My wife and I met for dinner with some new friends and all 4 of us were pretty blown away by the experience. First, the ambiance is out of this world. Every detail was attended to, nothing overlooked. Second, the service was top notch. Our server Kai (sp?) did a wonderful job introducing us to Vidrio's menu, and also suggesting cocktails. When we asked for a wine recommendation she went and grabbed their bar manager. He listened to what we usually like and suggested something new along those lines, which was amazing. Third, the food was VERY memorable. We'll all be craving the charred octopus for awhile. 100% recommend it. We also started with the sliced tuna dish, some roasted vegetables with some kind of creme/cheese sauce under it (this was another of my favorites), and meat skewers. All were amazing. We then ordered some large plates. The handmade raviolis were so delicate and tasty, while the wood fired ribeye melted in your mouth. For dessert we tried their crème brûlée and it hit the spot. Overall, we would highly recommend this new restaurant to all of our friends. We're looking forward to coming back again and exploring their menu. read more

While the ambiance was stunning and had the perfect vibe for a date night, the food and drinks were a huge disappointment. The drinks were batch-made, as confirmed by our waitress, and tasted extremely weak--more like juice than cocktails. For the price, we expected much better. As for the food, it was underwhelming across the board. I ordered the scallops, which were $33 for just four small pieces--far too expensive for the portion and quality. My husband's fettuccine Alfredo was bland, and the $22 portion size was comparable to a child's plate. Our guest had the lamb chops and hanger steak, both of which lacked flavor, were served lukewarm, and felt overpriced given the presentation and taste. I've dined internationally, in every major city. You must see the glass plated wall whilst savoring a drink / glass of wine from the beautiful world class bar. It is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail. ( Too often in restaurants I feel rushed in this accelerated fast paced world that we live in). Vidrio was one of the highlights of my visit to the Raleigh area. The neighborhood it's located in was lively, inviting, and full of energy, while the restaurant itself offered a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our waiter was incredibly kind, attentive, and easy to connect with, which made the dining experience even better. The food was outstanding from start to finish. Everything we ordered was well-seasoned, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. I especially appreciated how many different flavor profiles were combined in each dish--they worked together beautifully without overwhelming the palate. The decor is unique and adds a lot of character to the space. On top of that, the restaurant was very clean and well-maintained throughout. I would gladly return to Vidrio again and again. I've been here a couple of times and I really like it! I first stumbled upon it while walking down Glenwood one evening and we decided to stop in for a drink. Their bar is amazing! I have never had cocktails like that in Raleigh. I tried two of the their signature cocktails and enjoyed them both, one changed color when it was poured in front of you, very impressive! I went back a second time to get snacks at the bar and try a few more of their cocktails. I had a really unique one with gin that is made from raw honey somewhere in the Northeast (sorry, I can't remember the name!). Bothe food and the drinks were great. I had their octopus at the bartender's recommendation and it was great. We also tried the beef skewers and salmon and really enjoyed what we had. Wow! We went on opening night and were amazed by how seamlessly everything came together. From the expert help we received selecting wines and cocktails to the attentive service we received throughout our visit made us feel like VIPs. The cool cocktail that changed colors and was a symphony of perfectly blended components and the perfectly paired wines set us up for a fantastic meal. Vidrio delivered! From the grilled vegetables to the grilled Brussels sprouts not a speck of vegetables were left on the plates. How often can you say that? Loved every minute of my time at vidrio. We were sat upstairs with a great view of glenwood. The food was all amazing no complaints. Must try crab balls and muscles. Very unique. There was a large group party that arrived while we were there that our sever I think her name was shalon was taking care of what seemed like by herself. She was extremely busy with them but never once did she neglect us. I don't know how she did it but we were all amazed. She even treated us to deserts for our engagement. So sweet. Well isn't this an interesting addition to Glenwood. Went with 2 friends at the suggestion of 1, and I left with a 'wow' in my head. The selection of their tapas inspired from all over the countries bordering the Mediterranean was large. We had the octopus at the suggestion of the waitress, and it was so delicious we almost ordered a second one. The concept is setup based on the European communal dining style where you share all the dishes, instead of ordering your own entree and side. The first time going into Vidrio I couldn't believe I've never heard or visited before! This restaurant has such unique spaces and decor, including eclectic art on the walls. There is a floor to ceiling wall of just blown glass, something you would see in Murano, Italy. The menu is sharing style with smaller plates, but larger portions than other tapas style places Ive been to before, like Barcelona where there seems to never be enough food. It was STUPIDLY expensive. How can you justify the prices? This is not New York City. Also you don't allow ordering chicken to go with the pasta unless you order a $27 chicken entree? Wtf is that.... The waitress seemed new too. She didn't even ask us if we wanted to split the bill (~$250). Now we have to sit around and figure out how to Venmo our portion. I hope this place goes out of business. I really enjoyed dinner. Went to have drinks with an old friend and decided to stay for dinner. It was a great time. They have great cocktails. We each had one and then settled in for a nice bottle of wine. The wine list is very impressive, For dinner we had a flatbread and the beef skewers. We wanted to keep the meal light so we stayed with the appetizers and added the tuna crudo as well as the Brussels sprouts. Service was good and the bar was very comfortable. The service was amazing, the food was top notch, the atmosphere was awesome, & the food was absolutely perfect. Currently, I am eating vegan and I had several dishes that were spot on. The server explained how the courses would come out as they are ready, not necessarily all together (a format I love, but not everyone is familiar with.) Each small plate and large plate was amazing. Had a great time at Vidrio. THis is a great place for those how truly want to dine. My date and I started with the oysters, sausage platter and chicpea panisse. We enjoyed the foods with each getting a glass of white wine. Not sure what we had but they were good. For the entree we had the salmon. It was very yummy!. Hosted my husband milestone birthday party at Vidrio this weekend. This place makes an awesome venue in a class of its own! Very friendly, courteous staff and bar tenders went out of the way to make this evening even more special! Event manager Ioannis and Chef Saif, worked with us throughout the process and catered to all our needs. I ordered 3 courses and was less than 50 min from sitting down to check. I appreciate a snappy kitchen, but this felt rushed. (On a side note... I sent back a cider that I hadn't realized was going to be so cloyingly sweet. Not a big deal - my risk when I ordered it - but it would've been a nice touch to take it off the bill given that I didn't touch it and ordered a much more expensive glass of wine in its place. It's little moves that shape a diner's overall experience.) It's a beautiful spot and a nice Mediterranean meal, but I wouldn't rate it among (for example) the dozen or so 1-stars in the DC area. Fiola (Italian) is a useful comparison. Several flourishes in the cooking and a higher level of service that make it star-worthy in its class.

However, the menu description for the charcuterie board is MAJORLY misleading. The menu clearly states cheese AND meat for $14. However, when we got the bill, we were stuck with a $26 charge and told it's cause we ordered meat and cheese. The staff did not tell us it would be double the price when we ordered, so we had no idea until we cashed out. This put a bit of a damper on what was otherwise a nice visit. The establishment needs to be much more descriptive on the actual pricing and that it's meat OR cheese. Edit to add: I figured out that the discrepancy is due to the QR code menus inside the restaurant. When you scan the code, it takes you to a menu where it is clearly listing the charcuterie board as $14, whereas on their website, the board is listed at $26. The QR code menu needs to be updated to eliminate confusion (and less than ideal experiences) for customers. Also, my original review accidentally cited the location as the Renaissance, but this restaurant is attached to the Residence Inn rooftop.
