The New Yorker Pizza

NOT THE BEST, BUT ITS OK. We've had better pizza, and this isn't the worst pizza we've had so an average ratings is adequate. The dough is very thick and chewy, and the cheese is low grade...not sure how else to describe it.

Delicious white pizza! The crust is a perfect thickness. Lots of cheese - so good! We ordered a small salad too. With 2 of us eating it we still had enough for another meal. All the employees were very friendly

Incredible wings, I know they serve pizza as well but the wings are off the charts. Mediums sauce is perfect conbo of spice and flavor.

Great pizza, stromboli, and garlic knots. With local competition mounting. Viera pizza holds it own quite well.

Last night, my husband and I went there for our weekly date night. We were excited to enjoy some wine and good Italian food. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. None of the waitresses smiled or greeted us warmly. Instead, we felt like an inconvenience rather than valued customers. The waitress came to our table with no smile or greeting and immediately asked what we wanted to drink. My husband ordered a half carafe of red wine, and she brought only one wine glass. It seemed odd, as if it was assumed I would need to order my own wine rather than share with my husband. I ordered the Pasta Calamari, and my husband ordered a large two-topping pizza. A few minutes later, she brought my salad and only one plate for the pizza, as if my husband and I were two separate parties rather than a couple dining together. As we waited, we noticed that two other tables that were seated after us received their food before us. After 1 hour and 15 minutes, we still had no food, no bread that should have come with my entrée, and no updates from the waitress about our order. Finally, my husband got the waitress's attention and asked about the bread. She said they hadn't made it yet but would bring it later. She also told us that an 18-inch pizza is not easy to make and that was why other people were getting their pizzas before us. Later, the manager came over and told us that he dropped our pizza, and it had to be remade. The problem wasn't just the delay--it was the complete lack of communication. Our waitress never updated us, never checked on our order, did not bring hot bread or make our wait any easier, and never seemed concerned about how long we had been waiting. When the food finally arrived, so did the bread and my Pasta Calamari. By then, we had lost our appetite. The pasta with red sauce was not visually appealing, and there was very little visible calamari. We decided to leave disappointed. Compared to our previous visits, the prices have increased noticeably, while the food quality, service, and overall atmosphere have declined. It felt like a completely different restaurant from the one we used to enjoy. Sadly, this sounds like what happens when owners stop focusing on good service and quality food. Restaurants that go down this path often end up closing. It is very sad because this used to be one of our favorite places.

We were shown to our table. My wife ordered a dinner salad, she was told the dressing was garlic ranch. Since it was the only option she asked to bring olive oil. That was fine, but halfway through our meal I overheard a different waiter at another table say the choice of dressing for the salad was garlic ranch or vinegarette. Another "oversight". The waiter seemed nice. Later we realized when our food arrived that all of the tables seated after us were served bread with herb butter. I didn't complain but thought it was an oversight on the part of the waiter. I asked if the spaghetti and meatballs were good, the waiter said yes, very good. I decided to give it a try, the spaghetti was ok, but hadn't been properly sauced, it was as though the sauce was just dumped in the center with two meatballs. The sauce tasted like garlic and tomatoes, hardly any other flavor such as oregano or basil. The meatballs had far too much Italian flavored breadcrumbs and tasted like a meat-bread ball. The house salad my wife received and my side salad were pretty sad. Lettuce, 2 slices of cucumber, a small slice of tomato, and some shredded carrots. For a house salad at an Italian restaurant, it seemed pretty sparse. I expected an olive maybe, and / or a slice of onion, maybe a slice of green pepper, or a cruton or two? Go figure. Overall was disappointed, eveything about the restaurant decor gave me the first impression that it would be better. Coming from an Italian American family I know good Italian food when I taste. I know flavorful sauce and I know what a real homemade meatball should taste like. Perhaps other dishes and perhaps other wait staff are better. IMO there are better choices for Italian food in the area, doubtful I will be back to try something different.

Don't order milk for your kid; they'll give you a large glass but charge you for a whole gallon as if it were organic. Small pizza the price of a large and upward from there. Simple coffee pretty good with actual half and half cuplets, fine. Just whatever. Felt like I could have gone to any average restaurant or made it at home. I don't really get what people are so excited/about this place to rate it so highly on Google reviews but the Yelp reviews tend to be more on-point for some unknown reason so I always start my reviews with those, now. The other waitress seemed warmer and friendlier, kinda wish we got her instead. This place- you are charging too much. If you want to charge this much, please fix your layout, lighting, make the food a little fancier like some garnish or something, maybe make it so I don't have to wipe crumbs off my seat when I come in, stock some kids cups, don't charge me a gallon of organic milk price for a kids cup of milk (just wow), and bring me the bill at some point - waiting forever for the bill seems to be a thing these days, not only here but other places too. People, please- customers do eventually have other places to go, we're not NPCs (lol). I'm pretty patient, but even I have my limit. Meh. ! I don't hate the place, but... I definitely don't see a reason to come back.
