This is one of the few places that's open late! Not really traditional Vietnamese food with maybe only three Vietnamese noodle soup dishes and some stir fry and the prerequisite spring roll. This place also serves Japanese curry udon and some of the most interesting appetizers I've seen! Vietnamese corn and some omelette with cheese, and ube sliders. They also have many Banh mi choices! We took some time to review the menu because of the many interesting food choices! I ordered the veggie pho which comes in their beef broth. The broth was so clear that I was amazed at the flavor explosion! Carrots and broccoli are abundant. One critique which is not a deal breaker is the noodles were a bit over cooked. Dining partner had the vegetable stir fry that came in a bowl with rice - the better to hold the sauce with the rice! The service is awesome! Our waiter was so friendly but not intrusive. Helpful but not hovering. When we left he held the door open for us! And he did this for his other customers as well! Came in here to try the pho and got a side order of fries. Pho is tasty, the soup is good and there's a lot of meat. They've got some premium meatball situation going on, big chunks of tendon and very nice texture on it. I like the way the chef prepared the noodles, it wasn't over cooked or al dente but really silky and the noodles would give way after a slight chew. The jalapeño slices have the seeds removed too. The portion is gigantic, I didn't want to eat for the rest of the day after this late lunch. Fries were awesome. Oil was fresh when I came in at 2pm and the fries smelled great. read more

Me and a coworker was looking for a new place to try for lunch. I was craving banh mi. Went on Yelp and found this place that I never heard of and it was close by. I got the Pho French Dip. Had to try it. Winner! Everything, the beef, avocado, soup. Even the bread was excellent. Crunchy outside, soft inside. My friend got the Beef Pho. We're both satisfied. It was our last night in Honolulu and I was feeling the tiredness from the trip kicking in.. I was craving some good phở soup. Luckily we came across this place as most places in Honolulu close by 9pm. They recently just opened so they were having a yelp special of free Thai tea or soda as long as you check in on the app. This was perfect since I was craving somewhat a milk tea and my friend got the soda. The Thai tea was a bit heavy on milk and not enough tea in my opinion so I give it a 6/10. Next up, I ordered the phở đặc biệt but substituted the other meats for extra beef ball and red meat instead. The waiter was super helpful in doing this for me! The portion was so big I had enough leftovers for the morning before my flight. As for the broth and noodles, that cooked nicely and soft but not too soft. The broth came out hot which I loved! And the broth also tasted like a homemade broth my friends parents had cooked for me before. I give the phở 10/10. Lastly, my friend ordered the banh mi that consisted of grilled meat and egg. It was the perfect crunch and the flavors of the daikon, cilantro, meat, egg and bread was 10/10 as well! Overall, I just thought it was okay. The service was a bit rocky, but could be due to the restaurant being new. I had to ask for a spoon for my pho and waited awhile for my check. The food has hits and misses. The broth of my pho was flavorful, but my noodles were overcooked so it came out mushy. Thai tea, too sweet, think there was too much condensed milk, spring rolls weren't too flavorful, and the sandwich was good, but didn't have that wow factor. Would I go back again? Well maybe to try a rice plate and dessert to see if those plates are flavorful. read more

Located in a strip mall w/ a good amount of parking. We ordered the Vietnamese Fried Corn, Spring Rolls, Vietnamese Grilled Pork Sandwich, & Chubby Shaken Beef. The marinade on the BBQ pork in the sandwich was outstanding and the grilling (of the pork) was excellent. One just has to be aware there are thinly sliced jalapenos in the sandwich. The Chubby Shaken Beef also perfectly sauteed and the sauce made it great. The Fried Corn had many layers of flavor from the tiny dried shrimp, fried shallots and the sauce. The Spring Rolls were accompanied by vermicelli, slivered carrots, romaine lettuce and the traditional sweet fish sauce dip - quite delicious. I ordered the Pho , taro sliders, chicken and ice cream sliders; pho was very very oily and lacked flavor almost as if the stock was rushed. Taro sliders were very sloppy , when I in-vision a slider the toppings outweigh the bread, in this case there was a dust of topping barely enough meat or cheese it felt like I was just eating bread and it felt like it was definitely not worth the $$ . The friend chicken was no special feature either the sauce was generic . Lastly the ice cream sliders were also a disappointment the bread tasted like it's been in a plastic bag for weeks it was not fresh at all. I spent about $70 with tip for everything and felt like a big looser afterwards.
