Nestled behind Down to Earth in Kakaako at the "Keauhou Lane" of small shops sits this little Vietnamese restaurant. Much like the other restaurants along the lane, this place is small. With only about 4 or 5 tiny square tables (most had 2 chairs...i guess you could squeeze 4 on there, but itd be super tight) and a complimentary water station (water looked to be room temp as there was no visible chiller) before you hit the counter to order. Went over my (late as usual) lunch break and was surprised to find it completely packed inside. Thankfully right after I ordered, someone finished up and left so I was able to snag a seat. Ordered the spring roll vermicelli plate ($16.75) that consists of 2(!) chopped up spring rolls on a bed of cold vermicelli noodles along with some lettuce and cucumber(i guess that's the salad?) and some pickled vegetables (carrot and radish if im not mistaken...ya know the usual things that come with spring rolls). The plate comes with a side of fish sauce as well as a small container of chili sauce for dipping...or pouring...or drinking (hey, i don't judge. You do you) The spring rolls were good. Slightly warm, but moreso on the colder side, so i suspect they had been sitting out a while. Still the wrapper was crispy and the fillings were tasty. The vermicelli was...well, cold vermicelli. Kinda hard to screw that up and the vegetables were super fresh and crisp. All in all it was good, just....way overpriced imo for cheap noodles, veggies and literally 2 spring rolls. Honestly think it shouldn't be anymore than $12 for this plate, but what do I know? I just like to eat. I had also ordered a Thai Tea ($6.50). My screw up was waiting until I was done and out of there before taking my first sip (didn't wanna fill myself up on thai tea before eating!). This is the first and only thai tea that ive ever had in my life that i disliked. Wait, not even disliked, downright hated. To start tho, it looked delicious as it was a nice bright orange and had just the right amount of ice to where it didn't feel like i got ripped off paying for a cup of ice and a splash of tea...(i wont name names, but you know who you are). That's it for the good. The taste was....well first of all, it was not anywhere near sweet enough, which is not a huge problem. Don't get me wrong, i still needed it to be sweeter, but this was not the biggest issue. The biggest issue was that the tea itself tasted like someone had lit tea leaved on fire and threw them into my mouth. Unfortunately by the time i had taken my first sip, I had walked too far away to turn back. Will I go back here? Meh. Maybe. I do want to try their bahn mis. But I definitely won't be getting another thai tea here that's for sure.

Four stars from what I tasted today. The menu is nice for a smaller business. The location is down an alleyway between buildings. There are other eateries there like Mad Pie next door so I wanted to try this place. I walked in and saw all tables taken as well as all seats taken. I decided to call in the order and wait and grab two slices of pizza next door too! Supposed local smaller businesses, because why not? I ordered shrimp summer rolls and a bbq pork vermicelli noodles. Both were ready in less than 15 minutes of waiting. While sitting there I heard others raving about a coffee with ube cold foam. I had coffee for the day already, but who knows maybe next time. Orders were flying out of the this place and kudos to the busy workers behind. For a small shop I didn't hear much kitchen cooking nor did I smell the food as it was cooking. Could be high ceilings, possibly air vents or other things. Not a complaint at all. The cashier was super friendly and busy. Making drinks, taking orders, taking phone orders, serving orders, please be patient. He's a one man team when I was there. I brought it home and I am happy to say that I will be returning. The summer rolls have an unusual but VERY fun surprise in between. I don't want to spoil it but it was a fun addition! Didn't expect it but greatly appreciate it. The bbq pork was mildly flavored but it all was well balanced. I will return to try other things for sure. Yay!

There are so many local Vietnamese spots opening up around the island. Rollin' Rolls is a must visit! 1-hour free parking at Keauhou Lane! No need validation. Use the QR code to register your vehicle. Ambiance lends to a lively hangout with friends or a casual date! Several tables and plenty of seating despite the smaller space. Nice and clean inside. Cute decor. Staff is friendly and honest! Food is competitively priced. Good portions, even for foodies! Ingredients are fresh, everything made by hand with care. Hidden crunch rolls were nice and light. Manapua was filling, the bun was fluffy. Banh mi was delightful. Bread was crispy, fillings were yummy! Drinks are superb! Not too sweet. Balanced and refreshing. Give this place a try! Right by MadPie, close to Down to Earth.

Small but super clean cafe!!! I got the lemongrass chicken banh mi. They filled the banh mi with sufficient amount of chicken and a decent amount of veggies!! Absolutely delicious!!! The cashier was very helpful in explaining what was "nem lui" to me. I tried it. It was good!!

Very good Vietnamese food but their Viet Phin coffees really set them apart from most Vietnamese cafés in town. I had the ube coffee with ube foam, cream cheese, whole milk, and condensed milk, and it was Oh Em Gee heavenly!!' Unlike some Vietnamese coffees that can lean overly sweet from too much condensed milk, this was very well balanced, beautifully layered, and not cloyingly sweet . Same goes for the pandan latte with pandan foam. Super unique and really well done. The food menu is small and cleverly designed for the kitchen to put out quick, satisfying meals on the go, but there are some standout items. The Hidden Crunch Rolls are a must-try. Summer rolls stuffed with spring rolls. Spring rolls are generously filled with pork and wrapped neatly inside fresh summer rolls. Portion size is generous and great for sharing as an appetizer. Best value on the menu is easily the Sai Gon Breakfast Combo. Banh mi plus Viet phin coffee for $18. I went with the Special Banh Mi (pork, chicken pâté, mayo, pickled veggies), and it definitely cured my banh mi cravings . Good balance of flavors, generous pork, and fresh bread. The pork vermicelli is another strong option if you're craving noodles. Nicely marinated pork over vermicelli with lettuce and cucumber. 1 hour free parking in the garage. Happy Eating!! 30

Rollin' in Kaka'ako... I've been hearing about this place located in Keauhou Lane which you'll see Down to Earth right at the corner and parking entrance right beside with first hour free parking and direct access to the retail shops is an easy spot with a short walk. Rollin' Rolls Cafe is very cute as I entered pulling on the heavy door as the place was filled with some rustic metal seating you order at the counter and since I arrived about 30 minutes to closing I decided to make it a take out and decided on their Veggie Spring Rolls Vermicelli Plate which is vegetarian option specifically chosen to avoid any cross contamination and paired it with Strawberry Sparkling Lemonade. As it all was made to order there was a short wait though my drink was made first I enjoyed sipping as I wait for my order it was a nice and refreshing sip not too sweet though not too tart as well. I received my order in a nice handle bag though it was slightly too small as my plate sat on an angle with a slight tear in the bag the staff was nice as she asked it I wanted hot sauce (yes!) and after I found a spot to enjoy my lunch was pleasantly surprised how stunning it was. Spring rolls sliced perfectly into bite sized for easy to consume as they have such a generous amount of sauce along with fresh veggies I really enjoyed my plate without feeling too full. I'm so glad I finally got to visit this spot as they do close early at 3pm and are closed on Tuesdays but is definitely the spot to roll down for a try. Thank you!

Takeout lunch from Kaka'ako, Honolulu, Hawai'i... Knowing that parking would be challenging in this part of town, I chose to visit on a Sunday when metered street parking is free. It was also a rainy day, so I was hoping for more of a chance for closer parking and less of a crowd. I ended up going near to the closing time of 3pm, so there was just one customer ahead of me. Service was very friendly and helpful. The welcoming cashier explained that the Vietnamese coffees are made with condensed milk, so they all have dairy in them... except for the lemonade... Gosh... I really wanted that Ube Foam Coffee... I'll just take some pills and drink it at home! LOL! (It was strong!) I also ordered the Shrimp Summer Rolls - gee - they were unusually good because there's something like a crispy noodle inside? Yum! The dipping sauce really enhanced the flavor! Since they were closing, they threw in a couple of Chicken Spring Rolls... delicious! That sweet chili sauce kicked it up a notch! Thank you so much! I'm glad I went and I look forward to returning to this cute, clean cafe!

Service at the register was very prompt and friendly. The ambiance is fine, with about 6 smaller tables if you dine in. We ordered the special banh mi, side chicken broth, and their signature crunch rolls. These are crunchy spring rolls wrapped in Lettuce and rice papers. You get 12 slices to an order with sweet chili sauce for dipping. Delicious! The banh mi was toasted nicely and their homemade patê added a nice creaminess to the sandwich. The pork slices looked like char siu pork belly. A side of soup to dip your sandwich is $5, which I think is a bit much. If I wanted to market this I'd offer it as an add on to banh mi orders for $3.50. You can still offer the soup for $5 ala carte, but they'd sell a lot more sandwiches if the made a true soup n sandwich combo deal. Next time we'll try their drinks.

One of the best Pandan Coffee I've had! The Pandan flavor really shines through, unlike other Pandan coffees where the strong arabica beans used in Vietnamese coffee overshadows the padan. I highly recommend this drink! I would skip the Thai tea next time though... way too sweet.

    Hidden crunch rolls

Rollin' Rolls Cafe is the perfect Vietnamese addition to the popping Kaka'ako food scene! The Hidden Crunch Rolls are SO GOOD and a great value for how much food they give! The banh mi are amazing and the bread is so fresh, crispy, and soft. The lemongrass chicken wasn't too lemongrass forward, but the special banh mi was very flavorful. Everyone seemed to be getting their coffees, so their coffee must be popular, too. Vibe: There are a handful of tables inside the small restaurant and seating outside by Down to Earth. The decor is very cute and modern. The staff are very friendly. Parking: There's metered and free street parking throughout the area, but the condo that Rollin' Rolls Cafe is in offers validated parking, too.

Another new spot in Kakaako! Checking out to see their Banh mi! Ordered Lemongrass chicken $13 Pretty good! French bread was crunchy but not dry, good! Loved their pickles daikon and carrots, cucumbers! I would love to try spring rolls and noodles next time!

Hot and new in Kakaako! They are located in the hallway near down to earth and next to mad pie. seating available inside/outside of the restaurant. Please be careful with their door - you'll need some arm strength and will need to pull it kinda hard to get it open. I did street parking since it was a Sunday, otherwise i guess you can park at the Salt Garage and walk over?? They have drinks, rolls, and banh mi. I decided on their ube foam with vietnamese ice coffee for 7.50, it's perfect if you really love strong coffee! just a fair warning it's very strong but so good! The size of the drink is pretty good considered another place that recently opened up looks tiny and has the same thing. I would probably come here for coffee if im in the area instead of other coffee shops because i like my coffee strong! It also seemed like the food took longer to come out than the drinks cause the people before me were still waiting.

I came in craving something comforting but ended up discovering one of the best banh mi variations I've had in a while -- the Vietnamese steamed pork banh mi was SO good. The pork was incredibly tender, juicy, and flavorful without being overpowering. The bread was perfectly crusty on the outside and soft inside, holding everything together without getting soggy. The pickled veggies added that bright crunch that makes a banh mi so addictive. And can we talk about the ube Vietnamese coffee? Obsessed. It had that bold, rich Vietnamese coffee flavor with a creamy, slightly nutty ube sweetness that wasn't overly sugary. Such a fun, unique twist that still respected the classic. Everything felt thoughtfully made and balanced. Definitely coming back for both. If you love traditional flavors but appreciate a creative spin, this spot delivers.

The sandwiches are also pretty tasty. My main issue is the service. I'm not sure if part of their training is to ignore the customer as much as possible because that has been my experience on multiple occasions. The most recent visit, I had ordered online and was going to pick up m food for takeout. There were three workers at the front just talking. I walked to the counter and was ignored. I could see where the orders are placed and didn't see anything there so figured my order wasn't ready yet. I stood on the side for at least 5 minutes without any greeting or acknowledgement. Not a single person made eye contact with me. When I saw an order placed on the back counter one of them grabbed it and placed it on the takeout counter without calling out the name and went back to chatting. I had to actively try to get their attention at which point I was looked at like I was bothering them. Asked if my order was ready and was handed it without any further interaction. I don't expect happy go lucky people and conversation but at least basic customer service.

We tried the kouign amann with the toppings she mentioned as vegan (the butter one is not), and they were pretty good, especially with the cinnamon topping! The young lady at the counter was very helpful and patiently pointed out which things were vegan to us, which I really appreciate. The kouign amann seems like a popular item as we bought the last of them (we had wanted four, but there were only three) and it was still early afternoon. There is a parking garage nearby that allowed for long enough free parking for us to go order and grab our goodies to go. The location itself doesn't have a lot of seating space, so it seems best set up for takeout, but it is a pleasantly bright space and the outdoor seating seems like it would be nice as they're not on a main throughfare. It's far from where my family lives on the island that we stay with when we're visiting, but next time we're near Ala Moana around lunchtime, we'll definitely stop by for some vegan goodies!

Bocconcino is the perfect place to indulge in all the Italian delicacies I've missed, from meats and cheeses to pizza, sandwiches, beer, and wine. The pizza is spectacular, especially the Margherita. And I was surprised by the wine prices. I picked up a bottle of Pinot Grigio from Friuli for $15, and they provided glasses and a bucket of ice with no corkage fee. I can't wait to try more things here, especially the pizza al taglio, which has always been my favorite snack in Italy. The atmosphere is fun and casual. Seating is limited, but the communal tables make it easy to sit with others and maybe make a few new friends. Service is very friendly and professional. Ci tornerò presto!

My brother said the ordering process was ok in the shop but you have to go outside to wait for them to call your name. The Il Bolognese panini had a slight crunch to the crust. The bread was of good quality and the fillings were good though I couldn't really taste the pistachio which is my only complaint. The fungi pizza used the same bread as the panini and it was good also with clumps of melted cheese, sausage, and mushrooms. I would like to try their Neapolitan pizza next time but this was a filling slice. I can see why people have been raving about this place to get good Italian food and I'll be back, this time in person!

Nothing like eating huge sandwiches and the best pizza around! Our office orders takeout frequently from little g's and we absolutely love it here! We usually have place our order a few days in advance to secure our order for the day we want. They do run out fast so it is safer to place the order in advance too. You can order online but after a certain amount it requires you to phone in your order. I didn't grab a picture of everyone's food but this was the two sandwiches I got! The chicken parm is incredible stacked with 3-4 pieces of chicken parm and their red sauce with mozzarella served hot. The Italian has three different meat with cheese and lettuce and bell peppers served cold. These were served with a different grained bread which was a lil different than what we are used to but still really great! Service here is always great and food is always mind blowing with their large portions and fresh ingredients!

After looking over the menu options, we stood waiting for quite a while before anyone acknowledged us or took our order. The manager seemed rude and unwelcoming, which immediately set a negative tone for the visit. Looking back we should have trusted our first impression, but we decided to give it a chance and see what the hype was about. We each ordered a slice of pizza and took it outside to eat. After eating , we walked past the glass wall of the cafe and I noticed the manager handling and mixing flour with his bare hands, with the flour mixture covering his hands and forearms. I didn't expect to see food prep without disposable gloves and it made me uncomfortable. The pizza itself didn't make up for the experience. At around $22 per slice, I was expecting something exceptional or life-changing, instead, it was pretty underwhelming. The flavor, texture, and overall quality just didn't justify the premium price. Between the unfriendly service, concerns about food handling, and the disappointing pizza, I don't feel the experience was worth the cost of overpriced slices of pizza and I will not be returning nor will I recommend Little G Cafe to others. There are plenty of other pizza spots in Honolulu, including Boston's Pizza, that offer better value and a much more welcoming atmosphere.
