Best Vietnamese I have found yet in Tulsa! Vegan options are available, I almost always order the Bun with tofu and a veggie wrap. My husband loves the orange beef. Though the dine-in experience is not much to write home about, we are regular take-out customers and have not found another Vietnamese restaurant to rival this place. Be aware, their prices have increased a tad from some of the older menu pictures you can find (no surprise now in 2022), though I find the food to be of much better value than almost any other fast food or chain restaurant. read more

Stopped by lunch one day and I really liked it so I decided to come back the next day! The restaurant isn't big, and it gets full quickly during lunch time. I had tofu and veggie pho, and it was very good. The broth was flavorful and there are lots of tofu and veggies. I've never seen pho that is covered by veggies and can't see noodles at all! Don't discredit this small hole in the wall Viet/Chinese spot because of appearance or lack of cars in the lot, what this places lacks in aesthetics it makes up for in taste and hospitality. As you enter, you'll see the usual Asian themed decor on the wall, along with signs indicating, "Cash Only". They are very serious about this-- I had to go to Quick trip and back! I ordered the Beef Pho and two of their fried spring rolls. The pho had a deep flavor, you can tell it had been simmering in back for a while. The pho came with delicious meatballs (beef and tendons), and shaved beef, accompanied with heaping amounts of onions, Thai Basil, sprouts, and cilantro. The rolls were crispy and light with a great taste. ($12) I'm a lover of pho and I give this two !! Again it's not the prettiest place but sure leaves you satisfied! I've been back several times now and I have not been disappointed. I've tried all of the noodle soups so now I can review them all. 1. Pho. The pho is excellent. It has plenty of meatiness and it was obviously cooked with plenty of bones. I've tried pho at pretty much every Vietnamese restaurant in Tulsa and OKC as well as several restaurants in Dallas and the pho here is probably in the top 3 best phos I've ever had. 2. Duck mushroom soup. This was my first time trying this soup so I don't have anything to compare it to. The soup came with plenty of tasty mushrooms. I'm not sure what kind of mushrooms they used but it wasn't the usual ones you buy from Walmart. The broth was a little on the lighter side. The star of the dish was the duck. They give an entire quarter of duck (drumstick and thigh). The duck was delicious, well spiced, and SUPER TENDER. 3. Mi wonton. The Mi wonton is delicious. The broth has a rich garlicky flavor that compliments the egg noodle flavor. The soup is filled with wontons and BBQ pork and topped with chives and crispy fried garlic chips. Order this dish if you love garlic. 4. Pho Bo Kho. This is my personal favorite. The menu calls it "spicy pho" but it's not really spicy pho. It's more like pho with additional spices such as lemongrass and filled with melt in your mouth tender chunks of stewed beef and carrots. Pro tip: ask for chili oil to mix with the broth. The owner makes some really good chili oil. 5. Hu tieu. This was only the 2nd hu tieu I've tried so I don't have much to compare it to. The broth was light, yet oddly really flavorful at the same time. It came with a combination of quail eggs, shrimp, and pork. I'm not sure what cut of pork it was but it was very tender and very delicious. Overall this is easily the best Vietnamese restaurant in Tulsa. I know all of the different Vietnamese restaurants have Yelp reviewers claiming that they're all the best in town but Viet Huong is the real best Vietnamese restaurant in town. Dropped in after a trip to the gun range, since I was by myself and in the neighborhood. I have to admit I've been by this place a million times, and always wondered if it was worth the stop. I have to preface this review by admitting that I'm not well versed in Vietnamese food. So, I had no preconceptions going in, other than a fairly typical unconscious comparison to the more mainstream 'Chinese' food we've all gotten used to. As I looked over the menu, I noticed two general groups, the first being the more routine 'take out fare' consisting of the fried rices, lo meins, etc. Being the daring sort of guy I am, and admittedly not afraid to eat something that I have NO idea what it is, I went with the second group, which was comprised of Vietnamese dishes. Fortunately for me, the waiter not only brought a menu, but a little flipbook with pictures of the dishes. Not really being in a soup mood, I opted for something a little more substantial. After flipping back and forth, I settled on the V2B, which appeared to be a variation of the V2 dish, which I believe is called 'Com tam bi suon trung op la' or something like that. Not sure what the literal translation is, but I suspect it stands for 'Whole lotta good food', because that's what I got. The dish was comprised of, and in no certain order, the following: Lettuce, shredded carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes. I guess that was the salad portion, even if it was on the plate with the rest of the food. Next was some julienned pork, along with a wonderful little fried pork chop. Rounding this out was a generous portion of fried shrimp and onions, along with what I guess was either tofu or a nice light quiche type affair and a fried egg, of all things. Again, pardon my lack of knowledge about the particulars. I readily admit to being a neophyte about Vietnamese food. Under all this wonderful goodness was a nice bed of perfectly prepared rice. Very light, not sticky and perfectly cooked. I also opted for an egg roll, because why not. And I'm glad I did. It was a delicious egg roll, and the dipping sauce was perfect. Now, I will readily admit to having had almost all these components in some combination or another many times, but never in THIS combination. But it worked, and it worked well. No single element of the dish outweighed any other, and they all blended well together to make a great final presentation. The pork chop was well seasoned, and thin enough that it was flash fried to perfect doneness without being overcooked. It was moist, but not juicy, and had a nice, subtle flavor. The egg was done perfectly. Not quite hard, but not really runny either. The shrimp and onions played well together and complemented the other components quite well. I walked away a little confused, as I had no point of reference to say that this was a 'great' meal, or so much better than 'that other place', or anything like that. What I did do was walk away full, satisfied, and ready to come back for some beef pho. I saw several patrons eating it, and I decided it's a 'must-try' for my next visit. The only misfire was that I ordered tea, and only got water. But the check reflected that, so no major issue there. This is definitely one of those 'hole in the wall' joints that is worth checking out. Their longevity is a testament to the true quality and good taste of their food. But you can leave your American Express card at home.... this place is a cash only joint. read more

this was one of the spots that's been on my list for some time & that i was happy i finally visited. i'm real big on pho, so that's what my mind was set on (outside of the curiosity of what else they have in-store). one of best asian spots (or any local spot for that matter) that tulsa has to offer. after minutes & minutes of being indecisive, i finally went with the v13b: dry egg noodles with bbq pork, ground pork, squid, shrimp, quail eggs & sweet soy sauce on dry egg noodles. with all of that goodness, a broth comes with it & all of the fixings. i've never had it to where you pour in the broth yourself, that could be a good thing for others. i tried it without the broth before i poured, you can't go wrong either way. the bbq pork takes the dish over the top. slightly burnt/crisp edges, VERY flavorful. between the two sizes (small & large that are only a dollar difference), a small would work if you're hungry, if you're STARVING, get the large without hesitation. i was borderline starving while i always notice that "small" can be the size of a large at some places. i turned around & saw someone with a large bowl & it made my choice easier. their sweet soy sauce was incredible. you could put it on a shoe & it'd taste like a 5-star meal. the service was incredible. the server was being patient with me (as state earlier... i was being VERY indecisive) & was very helpful. the prices of their dishes are beyond reasonable. & the add the cherry on top, someone paid for the food. you couldn't ask for a better way to end a first visit. read more

And for you folks from the coast or texas I hate to break it to you but having eaten pho up and down the west coast as well as the gulf coast in my travels, Viet Huong has the best beef pho period. Mom and Ada are fantastic cooks and Marie makes sure everything runs smooth up front and Big Daddy Billy keeps everything between the ruts and the road. Great Vietnamese! My wife had the stir fry dish with beef and chicken and I had the Bun Cha Gio (would definitely recommend). We both very much enjoyed our meal and went back later that same week. We will make this our 'go to' place for Vietnamese or Oriental food as they also have a full menu of Chinese dishes. On my next visit I will try the Pho (beef soup), I heard other say it was very good. This is a family owned and ran restaurant, Dad and 1 daughter work the front (take orders, server, etc) and the Mom and other daughter work mostly in the back preparing dishes. I believe they have been in the location for many year, possibly 20. I've noticed it before, made a mental note to try it but never got around to until this week. Far from being authentic, the broth tasted like a hybrid of pho, banh canh and a hint of Bun Bo Hue. And who uses tapioca noodle in Bun Bo Hue?! A solid place to get pho, which must be challenging in Tulsa. Recommended by a friend, we drove up for lunch today. The building is non descript, bland, standard 70s building, and the interior is fairly bleak. The waitress promptly gave us menus and a little photobook, to help the newbie diner identify the foods on the menu. Very cute. I ordered the beef and pork pho, and others ordered the standard beef pho. I also ordered the Thai iced tea which has that lovely orange/brown, condensed milk sweet taste. The traditional sides of lime, cilantro and Thai basil were served on the side, which we plopped into our soup. The pork/beef pho came with thicker noodles think thick spaghetti. The beef pho came with the more traditional, thin pho rice noodles. The beef was OK, a bit fatty and lacked that fresh pinkish beef color. The pork looked a bit like bologne or a processed pork round that was sliced into the soup - so lost points on quality of ingredients. Overall, a good value for lunch, each pho ran about $5-6. Nice place for pho but probably wouldn't be my first choice for a nice atmospheric lunch. I also find it a bit funny when an 'asian' restaurant has to pander to the mass 'chinese' menu audience, as if to say, you came in for Vietnamese, but since you have no idea what that really means, you can order fried rice with sweet and sour pork. read more

This is a gem! It is a hole in the wall -- mom and pop Asian place. The food is fantastic and flavorful. The variety is amazing. The waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable. Best Pho in Tulsa hands down! I was starving after having dental work done, so decided to check out Viet Huong based on location and reviews. Aside from only accepting cash (which I don't mind much because menu prices are much lower than some places), I have no complaints! I ordered take-out and was so pleased. Best pho in Tulsa! I've been going here regularly since I moved to this side of town and it's some of the best Vietnamese I've had.

Pros: Better (by that I mean more authentic) than any of the other restaurants in town. I've tried every Viet place in Tulsa that is listed on Yelp and this is the best. The spring rolls are really fat, but made fresh to order. The egg rolls were not wrapped in the traditional rice paper, but the filling was still good. I get why all the restaurants in the area don't wrap in rice paper: when fried, the rolls are less attractive and have a tendency to explode; plus, most people don't know the difference. I knocked off a star. The fish sauce was good; not as sugary and diluted as the other area restaurants. The broth for the beef pho did not have as much MSG as other places. I couldn't taste any at all. To me, that's a good thing. My boyfriend loves MSG, so to him that's a bad thing. Guess it just depends on the person. I will not be going to any other Viet restaurant in town; I've found my go to place. Cons: far from my home and they don't take credit card. read more

I went for lunch but definitely don't think the ambiance is fitting for dinner. Service- they were really friendly. I'm used to Houston or New York Vietnamese restaurants where everyone is relatively abrupt. They were really friendly here and were helpful when I asked questions about the menu. Food- good but nothing mind blowing or comparable to a Houston or SF Vietnamese restaurant. I will caveat this with a little disclaimer- I'm a vegetarian so perhaps the meat was mind blowing. I got the veggie wrap (I.e. tofu spring roll) and the veggie bun (yes, I was being a fatty for lunch). The vermicelli on both was really thick which was a little disappointing- I love the really fine vermicelli at most other spots. They gave me a fish sauce alternative for the bun which was oily soy sauce with something that looks like that canned fried onion stuff. I would like to be a snob about it but it was surprisingly pretty good and got some of that fish sauce sourness. Other than that everything was pretty good.
