Loved it! Clean, nice little place. Not super fancy, but great for a quick lunch. Didn't realize they don't accept credit cards, but the owner was cool about letting me pop to the ATM really quick. Now to the food. I had the duck soup, and my boyfriend had pho. We are pretty new to Vietnamese food, so I'm not sure about the true name for the duck soup. It was awesome! Vote Huong is a great place to grab Vietnamese food after a Hale High School or Junior High event. While the fact that they are cash only can make it a bit more difficult to visit on a whim, the Vietnamese style shrimp fried rice, delicious pho, friendly service, and Vietnamese coffee is sure to make up for it. A favorite of ours for about 30 years, so of course 5 stars. My wife really likes the spring rolls and won ton soup. The spring rolls are well made and expertly wrapped. I usually order V13 which is a soup with noodles, pork, seafood, quail egg, won ton and probably 3 or 4 ingredients I'm forgetting. It is served with bean sprouts and cilantro on the side. It's just wonderful. On this visit I had Com Suon Bi Cha (V-4A) which has rice, pork chop, shredded pork, egg, cucumber, tomato and their house sauce. I hadn't had it in a long time, but I'll be having it more often. The family owned restaurant is cash only, but the price is right. The broth is spot on! I've eaten pho in California, Seattle, Dallas, Chicago, St. Louis and Utah. This place's pho is what pho should taste like. The portions are far more than fair for the price. I'm always having trouble finishing that last bite but I power through it. The staff is friendly. My family just sits and they know what to bring us. They only accept cash and parking is impossible during lunch but you will not be disappointed. The Spring rolls are top notch. Practically every thing on the menu is spot on. Today I traveled a good distance from the hotel to check this place out. It was recommended it by a good friend that had seen reviews online and I too did some research to find it was the best rated Vietnamese place in Tulsa. To start off..I had to have a Cafe Sua Da or Vietnamese Coffee. Absolutely delicious and a reminder of my days living in Saigon. Once I was adequately buzzing with caffeine I continued to order some snacks of fried spring rolls as well as fresh spring rolls with fish sauce. Honestly, these were equal to if not better than those I had living in Vietnam. I was blown away. It is rare to find the quality of food in most US Vietnamese restaurants as you would find living there. This place is authentic and goes the distance to serve great food. No wonder the place was packed from the time we arrived to well after lunch. We also had the Pho Ga, and Bun Bo Hue which everyone loved. The Pho was a little different from that in South Vietnam because it had what looked like lettuce in it, however with all the bean sprouts, cilantro, and basil, and chili sauce it was just like it should have been...another mind blowing meal! I've been eating at Viet Huong for years. From the outside you wouldn't think this restaurant is much of anything. It's in kind of a grubby part of town, and the building itself has always looked like it's badly in need of a makeover. Don't let those things put you off. If you like Vietnamese food, Viet Huong is the best in town. They also serve Chinese. I've never tried it. I have my usual (V3: Bun Cha Gio), and it is always excellent. The husband and I had to move to Louisiana for a while, but we always made a point to stop by when we were in town. Now that we're back, we'll most likely be in at least once a month. read more

The place is small but the food comes out fast. We had the pho which is one of the best broths we've had and we have tried a lot of pho :) The meat is not as good but not bad and the noodles are chewy and nice. My bun was just ok. I think we are spoiled by Austin's Vietnamese fare bc otherwise I am sure their bun would be pretty good. Otherwise its just ok, not bad, not the best. We ordered crispy noodles and again not the best but edible. I got a to-go V1 beef phò yesterday- I was surprised to be asked if I wanted cooked meat or raw (I didn't know there was an option and I've been eating phò for a very long time!), the broth is to die for. This place reminds me of a family owned restaurant in Seattle, WA. Both are hole in the wall shops that look pretty run down (Viet Huong is much nicer on the inside), but their food are amazing. It's rare to find a Vietnamese joint willing to venture beyond pho for their basic menu, but Viet Huong does so without reservation. Their selection and style of preparation reminds me of the fare I had in Vietnam. Granted, there are a few items on their menu that you clearly would never find in a Vietnamese restaurant catering to Vietnamese guests, once you weed through the obligatory American-Chinese menu you get to some of their greatest hits. I certainly understand the need to cater to the audience at hand, as nearly every ethic restaurant does here, but if you manage to unearth those semi-hidden gems, you're in for a treat. Today I was treated the the very best Vietnamese and Chinese food in town! The sweet and sour chicken is something the kids will love and the sauce is not like any sweet and sour sauce you will have any where else! It tastes like it has lemon juice in it or something, either way it's tangy and delicious. They even have a specialized kids meal for kids. It's only one entree but it is good. Their eggrolls are truly the very best in town, crispy outside and tasty inside! But I have saved the very best for last. If your ever any where near 21st street, try cafe Viet Huong for the Orange Chicken. Seasoned with soy and a bit of sesame as well, this delicious dish melts in your mouth. Each crispy tiny piece of chicken is floured and fryed lightly with dried orange peel and served with its sauce over a bed of rice and sprinkled with sesame! It's always crowded. It's always busy. There is a REASON! It's the best food in town and worth the wait for a table. They also do take out and you can get it to go and take it with you. Try a mix of heavenly flavours as exotic and delicious of an experience as you will ever have in Tulsa and all the people who work there are sweet, good natured, good humoured, and always laughing. I had about given up trying to find non-chain restaurants in Tulsa that served good, inexpensive food. Viet Huong was a great find and I will be back several more times before my business is concluded here in OK. I had a bowl of wonton soup with pork, noodles, wontons, veggies and the usual Vietnamese add-ins (cilantro, mint, bean sprouts). Add in a bit of hot chili sauce and get after it! The restaurant is kind of small and in a somewhat run down strip mall, but don't let that put you off. Longer hours would be beneficial as they close at 8:00 pm. PHO-REAL!! (I know...but I had to) Viet Huong is a quaint, family owned Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant in East Tulsa. I've always had a love for Asian food but it wasn't until I traveled to Southeast Asia almost two years ago that I truly developed my affinity for Asian cuisines broader than the standard American favorite Chinese and Japanese dishes. Eating at Viet Huong is Southeast Asia in Tulsa!! I'd be so interested to share a meal with the staff and owners and learn how many generations these recipes have been in the family. On my first visit I was definitely in over my head but luckily I overheard a regular order and picked his brain for his favorite dishes. I owe that man so much praise because his suggestion has become a meal I crave all too frequently! It's my duty to pay it forward and ask that try the Bún Bò Huê with Pho noodles!! The spicy beef broth is everything! You can taste the love that's gone into the preparation. Your delicious bowl will come to you piping hot full of slices of beef, pork and noodles. Don't be shy adding any your favorite toppings that they provide - basil, cilantro, bean sprouts, jalapeños, onions, limes and ALL the chile oil! I have to admit because of my love affair with this dish I've been unsuccessful at exploring the rest of the menu but of the other items I have tried I really enjoyed the Bún Cha Giò (a broth-less bowl of vermicelli noodles topped with fresh veggies, beef or pork, AT LEAST 2 egg rolls and a side of bright and tangy sauce to pour overtop) and the Hu Tieu Nam Vang (similar to the Bún but filled to the brim with shrimp, squid, pork, quail eggs and a fried wonton). Wow! Best Pho and Hot Noodle soups ever! The hot broth is so full of rich, beefy or chicken flavor, depends or what you order, that I've ever tasted. The soups/pho are scalding hot and fresh. Fresh herbs, vegetables, and sauces. They are delicious and that's not exaggerating. The portions are large and satisfying. The prices are reasonable. The egg drop soup is phenomenal! I have never, ever, ever, never, had egg drop soup this good and I've eaten it a hundred times all over Tulsa and the country. If you try it and don't enjoy it, give me the business via email. I asked the daughter of the owner why it was so rich and delicious, unlike other restaurants versions throughout the city. She told me that they use the broth from boiled, whole chickens and cook it down to a potent, flavor packed, final strained broth. They don't use bouillon or powder, but rather real, fresh chicken stock that simmers for hours. It looks like a hole in the wall...sorry owners, but they are serving World Class Pho, Noodles, Spring Rolls, and a plethora of other great Asian foods and treats. It's a hole in the wall which usually are the types that have good food and I wasn't disappointed. I had the Teriyaki Grilled Chicken & Beef Pho Soup. The chicken was excellent, I liked how they had onions on the skewer as well. The soup was very good. It wasn't the best that I've had in places in NYC or Virginia but it had good flavor and they did give plenty of lime, beans to put into it. I can't complain about how the waitress was dressed. Only because I'd been up all day on connecting flights. She served me quick and with a smile, checked up on if I needed anything and asking how it was so for me her service was spot on. We've bought from Viet Huong on and off for many years as we live in the area, however I hadn't been there since it changed hands. I recently had a family gathering and went online to find their menu and call it in so wouldn't have to wait. We had a bunch of kids and grandkids to feed so we ordered quite a bit. Based on the pricing on the menu I figured out that it would cost me $114. I arrived and the food was ready when they said it would be, and they helped me carry it out to the car. However, when they totaled it up, the bill to $151! I questioned it and they told me that the pricing on their facebook page menu was several years old. Not cool. I paid the $151 but probably won't go back as they've priced themselves way too high. Portions are generous but aren't as flavorful as I remember them being. read more
